Having been to umpteen restaurants around America, I was looking forward to my dinner at the recently opened Mereday's restaurant in coconut point! The ambiance was nice, and the decor was elegant. I quickly noticed the restaurant was almost empty, and it was a Friday night! Looking over the menu, I was pleased to see a number of creative and appealing dishes. My family and I ordered a slew of appetizers, eager to try them all! We waited well over an hour before receiving our first course. Once the appetizers were served we were beyond disappointed to see that the baked Brie was ice cold, along with the escargot. We decided to taste test the rest of the appetizers we ordered which consisted of the duck wings and the scallop and corn purée appetizer. The scallops were over cooked and contained a overwhelming amount of salt. My father bit into the duck wings and realized they were raw inside! At this point my family realized the food that was served to us was an extremely poor attempt at french cuisine. We immediately asked for the check, and cancelled the entrees we ordered. Overall I would advise my fellow yelpers to steer clear of this restaurant! For the same price you could indulge at the lovely Cote D' Azur restaurant where the French cuisine is authentic and delicious!

We went on for some drinks and apps. Good charcuterie plate, excellent scallop plate, but $7.50 for a draft Stella is staggering - especially during what should have been happy hour. Server was pleasant and very competent.

Oh, wow. Outstanding food, drinks, service. Best fois gras I've ever had. My companions' trout and steak frites were simply perfect. Our waiter David was a total pro - one of the best ever. Couldn't be happier to have stumbled upon this place. Can't wait to return.

Even though we were seated right away, the host was incredibly rude. He didn't even bother to bring enough menus until later and with the added look of contempt, we left the restaurant without even ordering. The food may be good but the service deserves one star.

Went on valentines day so very crowded, but service beyond bad. Appetizers arrived after 45 minutes. Frog legs very good. Foie gras was overcooked and very small portion for price ($22). Entrees finally arrived 2 hrs after seating, and right before we were ready to leave. Pork was ok. Steak frites was supposed to be filet. It was a small top sirloin. At $38 crazy. Had to order glasses of wine as bottle gone by then. Even though manager comped whole meal, will never go back. To many better choices nearby.

Escape the rarified prices by getting your food order in before 5:45pm. Menu's half off until then. I enjoyed the risotto with Hen of the Woods mushrooms. Thin shaved cheese on top along with delicate green garnish made it perfect. Loved the group of flash fried frog legs too. Diminutive females, but with plenty of meat I'm a fan, and as fans are expected to do - I'll be back.

EXCELLENT NEW RESTAURANT Chef Mereday's well-deserved reputation precedes him and we were anxious to try this new restaurant. We only stopped in for lunch, but everything was just perfect. My Banh Mi Vietnamese Sandwich was delicious even though it was not a 100% replica of the true Vietnamese Sandwich. My wife & I shared an order of 3 Spicy Duck Wings. I believe this is a specialty and they were also very good. My wife had a 1/2 Croque Monsieur Sandwich along with their French Onion Soup and was very happy with her meal. Overall, an outstanding dining experience.

Mereday's in Estero, 1/2 priced entire menu 3-6 in summer . Enjoyed bacon app, filet and trout. Filet you could cut with a fork, trout so perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bacon, oh my. Grilled bacon, blue cheese and arugula with fig jam and mustard, so amazing. Get there now!

Pay attention, disjointed operation. Slammed with group of 60 not enough clean glasses, one bartender. We sat at bar, mussels came out cold and fast. Old order . No bud light, all out. Manager brought out burgers, no idea which one was rare, missing side condiments. Good fries. Need to get their stuff together

This week, Mereday's suddenly became my favorite restaurant in SWFL. We've been meaning to go for ages, and finally dropped by when we needed a cool night out. (A/C on the fritz, but I digress ...) My goodness, the food! Absolutely delicious. Try the beet salad. And the duck. And don't miss the lamb sliders! I can't wait to try more of the menu. To be perfectly honest, as good as it is, the menu is a little pricey for this area. I did not ding them a star for that, but if you're looking for an inexpensive meal, you might look elsewhere. Or, during the summer season, come before six, where most everything is half price, so it's a GREAT deal. I worry, though, that this is not a sustainable long-term solution to the pricing problem. Everyone quickly learns to come before 6pm, and the place tends to be rather empty afterwards (which makes for a pleasant ambience, for what it's worth). So I'll add my voice to those expressing concern here that this restaurant may not be around for a long time. It would be a real loss to the area if they don't make it, though, so all the more reason to check it out now and offer your support for fine food in SWFL while they figure out how to be a bit more competitive. One more thing: I noticed a few reviews here raising issues about the service. My experience was quite the opposite. Ask for Jessie. She was attentive and charming and gave great suggestions, and I imagine that she would be all the more so with you if she knows you've asked for her by name. Enjoy!

Beautiful decor. Comfortable setting, nice booths will make your dining almost private. Chef Maradays has skills. Great beer selection. Wine list is lacking a bit but that can be fixed. My suggestion: get a sommelier. Not cheap but definitely worth it every dollar. Being located in coconut mall Brasserie is surrounded by a lot of cheap competition. Do yourself a favor and go there. You will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed my meal at Mereday's, the newest outpost of Charles Mereday in Coconut Point. The restaurant is a cavernous space, and Mereday spared no expense turning a nondescript bar and grill into something that evokes the traditions and culture of France. Rich wood panelling and restrained lighting goes a long way to making an intimate and cozier space. The menu deviates from the bigger theatrics of Mereday's haute cuisine in Naples. Here, the idea is simple French food, working class classics like steak frites and bouillabaisse. With this, Mereday brings something unique to the area, providing a welcome change from fish-forward 'coastal' cuisine or steak and starch heavy Italian offerings. The menu strikes the right balance of inventive and traditional--the goal here is to stay true to the essence of the big French standards--but still manages to be playful. A roasted marrow bone appetizer presents diners with cross-sections of bone, toast, and a spoon to pull out the velvety delicious marrow and spread it on warm baguette. It evokes pate, but yet pivots away from the staid toward a more creative end. Entrees are similarly smartly reconfigured for South Florida--more citrus, more fish, but still undeniably French. Where Mereday deviates the most from Europe is with heaping portions. My bouillabaisse was loaded with all the fruits of the sea, a seemingly never-ended bowl of packed tight with mussels, clams, scallops, whitefish, and more. Deserts were similarly hulking, and here, not surprisingly, the creme brûlée steals the show. Most people should have no problem sharing one desert--my dad's sweet tooth dictated we each had our own. I like Mereday's both as a unique choice in the somewhat staid Southwest Florida dining scene as much as I truly enjoyed the food, service, and massive wine list. I might quibble that the prices did not reflect 'working class cuisine' as a dinner for two was easily over $150 with wine and desert, but given how much of the dining options in the area have moved in that direction Mereday can hardly be accused of being tone deaf. My father, a full time Southwest Floridian, was less enthusiastic--and given that it is his demographic that will make or break a restaurant here, I hope his lack of enthusiasm was aberrational. The region can use more smart and creative cooking like that on offer at Mereday's.

The atmosphere is very nice and well laid out. We were seated right on time and things looked promising for a random Saturday night. After ten to fifteen minutes of no acknowledgement the manager stopped by to check on us and realized the problem right away. He was polite and night us a bottle of wine. Nice way to step up. Our waiter did not seem to be all there this night and it showed through the whole dinner. The appetizers were either good ( French soup) our cold but with flavor (cream cakes) and snails which were like warm. The whole delivery of the appetizers was messed up as their was some kind of issue in the kitchen. The main course took a long time to come about twenty minutes after the apps were finished.again the manager stepped up and gave us free dessert. I had the filet and it was really not very good. Two of the other meals were cold but with some flavor. I could go on now about the food but the place was just missing on all fronts beyond the manager trying to pick up the pieces. A small word of advice is do not use the restrooms as they give a bad truck stop a good name. I gave the place a one star and I don't see it surviving. It's to bad because they have underlying charm and ability

Food was very good BUT extremely expensive. If I wanted to spend $200 for 2 I would try Cote d'Azur or Trulucks or Blue Provence. We dinned shortly after they opened and maybe things have changed, will try again.

Mereday's Fine Dining in Naples is one of my favorites in the area. However, Mereday's Brasserie is one of the worst restaurants I've been to in the area. This is disappointing because it gives a bad name to the Mereday brand. The restaurant was empty while all the other neighboring restaurants were filled and now I understand why. It's pricier than most restaurants ithere, so you would expect great service and great food. But the service was almost non-existent. We waited nearly an hour for any food to show up. We were never given water refills or asked if we wanted our drinks refilled. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert. We didn't have silverware for two people at our table and we had to ask four times before it appeared. Meanwhile, servers kept coming by mistakenly giving us other tables' orders. Everyone ordered fish at our table and it was nothing memorable. It was an expensive, bad experience.
