High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. This is a perfectly passable chain bar; the decor is made up to give it a local sports-bar feel. Overall, the food is passable; it's bar food, with burgers and fried foods figuring heavily into the menu. The beer is cold, the prices are reasonably low, that's sort of their thing. That being said, every time I've been to this restaurant (and, in fairness, that's generally been on a Friday or Saturday during tourist season), they've been completely in the weeds. Wait times, from ordering your food to getting the entree, can run upwards of 1/2 an hour. I don't blame the waitstaff, it's more that the kitchen is usually backed up. All in all, it's a decent place for a cheap burger or some wings and a beer.

Great service by friendly folks - decent bar food especially buffalo chix sandwich , and always some hockey on one of the sets.

Really good burgers. Great garlic parmesan wings, the best I've ever had. Saucy and came piping hot just like the burgers. Service was decent. Overall good place to grab lunch.

Great great food. The curly fries are amazing and the wings are delicious. The waiters that I have had there, were kind of strange, but other than that great food.

Definitley enjoyed my first trip to beef's. The waitress was great, the hot wings were delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed the food too!

Only beer and wine. No Guinness on tap . Server was friendly. Food was fine. Closes at 11pm, Final Four on the TVs, hopefully open until the game ends. Nothing special here.

Most Beef O'Bradys are great. This one not so much. Slow service, okay food then I was over charged so had to wait ten minutes for the manager to fix my receipt.

This place is the greatest place on earth! The food is amazing, the wait staff is second to none and the owner is the nicest guy you ever will meet. Football sundays are soo much fun with every game you want on the many TV's. It is close to Germain Area and the Miromar Outlets....so if you dont feel like shopping drop the lady off and come in for a bucket of beers. If your lucky you will see Pops sitting at his usual spot.....say hi :))

Fun little bar here in Estero. I can not say much about the food as I've had it only once or so, so I will not comment on that, but coming here for drinks and watching games is always a good time. They have good drink deals and especially on Monday from 5:30-6:30 its 30 cent beers! For anyone wanting the best happy hour deal, come on in. It will be packed and busy but the waiters will get you at least 5-6 beers and it is always a fun time!

The food here is always solid. I was surprised last night when I ordered the "Dubliner" grilled sourdough, big scoop of mashed pot., thinly sliced roast beef, sautéed mushrooms, swiss cheese, all covered in gravy. It is now my new favorite! We also had spicy garlic chicken flat bread, taco Tue. Special- 2 tacos(chicken, fish,or steak) w/ chips and salsa only $4.99, hand breaded kids tenders meal (kids eat free Tuesdays) kids cheese pizza and kids grilled cheese! Great value, but above all it was good quality food.

I've eaten here several times over the years and it's always consistent. Todays selection was from the lunch menu. Pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw & fries. The pork tasted like it had been cooked by a real BBQ pit boss, moist and tasty. The cole slaw was ok as were the fries. This is classic American Bar Food, I've had their burgers & wings over years and the food has always been outstanding. They have a nice beer selection to go with the 15+ TV's Plus they sent me out the door with a to-go cup of soda.

Awesome place to watch Sunday football! Tons of HD TV screens. Wait staff, while busy, did go in a reasonable order & drinks flowed as well as could be expected during a rush in service. Was able to order reasonably priced buckets of domestic beer, that helped keep the suds flowing. Great bar food, love the sizzling fajitas. They will make adjustments to your food order to get what you want. Many times they have made a blacked chicken finger; app. to prevent me from having to have a breading soaked chicken finger app. Also their chicken wings done naked no breading and more rubs and sauce combinations than one would eat in a month. The Owner, customers, and staff make this a truly family bar. The owner offers free tickets to customers, when available, for different venues if you happen to be around. The place has been there for over 10 years, your not that successful unless your pleasing the customers and you have good food!!!!! I came, I saw, I had a great time! I'll be back!!

As you enter the small, dark restaurant the smell/feeling of grease overwhelms you. Not sure why they call it a bar since they only serve beer and wine. Every time I have eaten here I immediately want to vomit. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because it does have cold draft beer.

This is a great place to go to watch the ball game and have a bite to eat. Good bar fare, and you can't go wrong with almost anything on it. Plus all the waiters and waitresses are, for the most part, athletes from FGCU, which is just down the street, so they will probably know more about the game going on than you do.

This review pertains only to this location, which is the only one I've visited. Decent bar food of reasonable quality with a small selection of craft beers being an added plus. The layout and decor of this particular one was a bit chaotic, unplanned, and quite frankly, uncomfortable, especially as it related to placement of seating as it relates to location of many of the TVs, which we were there to watch as it was during the Final Four. Would not return for a sporting event but OK for some quick bar food.

  • Adrienne K.

Good ol' beer, booze, wings & burgers! Tasty bar food, with attentive staff. Small dining room at this location, and usually busy. Looks like they offer a "kids eat for free" night, and their prices are low and comparable to the quality you receive. Great location near the airport, I75, Arena & FGCU.

  • Mike E.

I've been coming to Beefs since I was a sophmore at FGCU. As a graduate, I still frequent this place. The wing specials are always awesome and the beer is always cold. I still sit at the table with the game screens, as they are legit. I think I still have a high score Luxor. They have a ton of TVs and gets filled in for the games. They used to have "chug til they score", free beer until the first touchdown. Crazy. Service is almost always great, it's a small homely place similar to establishments up north. Not a smug vibe like some places in the area. If you are a kid in the area looking for a good food on the low, this is a great place.
