My family has been coming here for over 20 years. Everytime we are down from Ohio we visit at least twice during a week's visit. Portions are large enough to share or take leftovers. The service has always been fantastic and the place couldn't be any further away from perfection. Well unless they were in Ohio....top notch!

Wonderful place for an easy and quick lunch! Great lunch combos. Lighter fares and full hot meals as well. I had the chicken wrap and side of pasta salad.

Had the Linguine with garlic and oil, with the chicken and rice soup. Soup was pretty good, linguini was less than desirable. Service was absolutely terrible. The waitress was very inattentive and forgetful. Will not be returning.

We ate here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We had meatball and Italian hoagies and a personal mushroom pizza. The hoagies were exceptional, the chicken and rice Italian soup was extremely good, and the pizza was phenomenal. Excellent service with friendly waitresses. Easy to miss on a busy road, get directions from Yelp.

This place should not have as many good reviews as it does. Everything tastes extremely processed and was either frozen or canned. The only thing I had that was remotely edible were the battered mushrooms which still tasted as if they had been previously frozen. The locals seem to like it, but it must be for the nice staff. We had the battered mushrooms House salads Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken Chicken paisano Most of which was completely inedible.

While on vacation with my Dad recently we decided to check this place out for dinner. Enjoyed it! We ordered the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer. Yummy! I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. My Dad ordered the Veal Parmesan. Both were excellent but the portions were so big that we had to take leftovers home, which really wasn't a hardship. In fact, my Dad said his veal Parmesan was actually better re-heated the next night! I thought overall it was the BEST Italian meal I have had in a long time and I've frequented Boston's North End eateries. This was excellent! The ambience is OK, but the meal makes up for it. Enjoy!

Really local place. Always pleased with choices. From salads to pizza to chicken all prepared to order and served piping hot. Gets a bit crowded during peak season

My boyfriend and I decided to go here one night after work, and it was pretty good! The waitress was really nice! And, the beer was cheap! If you love cheese, like myself, I recommend the ravioli also the entrance is beautiful!

Personalized service with a smile! Paula was able to accommodate our competitive soccer team, West Pasco FC U13, and their parents 50 in all for a team lunch! Prompt service, phenomenal Italian cuisine, & timely service... recommended to all. A must try!

This place has a real homey feel to it. I was pleased by the service and accommodations for a party of 9. What we had: White Sangria: Not sure how much alcohol was in this, but it was a nice fruity & refreshing drink. Appetizer: We got a whole plain pie and cut it into little slices to share since the other reviews said that the pizza was great. The pizza was good. Sauce and cheese was the highlight. I am very hard to please when it comes to pizza, the crust was a little bit doughy for my taste, but none the less pretty good. Meal: Each meal came with soup or salad and garlic bread. No one got soup, but the Minestrone that the couple next to us got looked good. The salad is your run of the mill iceberg salad. The garlic bread was sinful and came out very hot, basically melted in your mouth. Everyone's meal was varied. I got chicken parm, it was fried to perfection and paired with a delicious thick sauce. The spaghetti was over cooked even though I asked for it to be al dente. The real winners here were the sauce and the chicken itself. Other members of the group got the special which was, sausage over spaghetti. They said the sausage was good, but like mine, the pasta was just ok.

If you love Olive Garden then you'll prob think this place is great. To me this wasn't my cup of tea. Most of the dishes were overly sauced, where the manicotti were drowning in a cheese, tomato, oily mess. The pizza i ordered was NOT great, i prob won't order it again, but the pasta/spaghetti dishes are alright. The atmosphere in here was bustling with people, the service was great, and it felt like you were eating with the fam for dinner. A very warm welcoming feel to the place. I'd rate the food at 2 stars and the ambiance & service around 4 stars.

Good (but not great) Italian food, big portions. There are some days when you just need lots of pasta. We ordered a pizza one day to go, and loved it!!

A nice Italian restaurant in Englewood, and much better than it's competitors (Nicola's especially). Great for both the locals and those on holiday in the area, especially as it isn't terribly far from the beaches. Food is very reasonably priced, especially for the portion sizes. They can have a bit of strange hours around holiday times and during the summer "vacation" (IE: slow) period, but at least they are finally taking credit/debit cards now. :-) Parking can sometimes be limited and the restaurant (at different times of the year, of course) can be very busy, so if you're planning to go with a group or during the dinner rush, it's best to call ahead.

I agree with the other reviewers. they now take credit cards!! a step into the 21st century. We like it for takeout. Get any shrimp dinner, you'll be happy. Pizza's good too.

Every dish I ordered from here was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Price was right. Can't ask for anything more. This place is small and the food is so good its standing room only at dinner time.

Just left Mamas' love the food there, great homemade soups, love Keith's chicken salad. Today though, had terrible service! Asked for a chicken salad wrap. The waitress asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato and onion. I replied, yes . My husband got the chicken salad, we both waited a long time for our lunches. Several other people that came in after us got served 1st. Even calzones that would take a while to make! Then I get my wrap and there was no Lettuce, tomato or onion on it! not happy today!

If you enjoy good Italian cuisine, don't come to this place! Lots of tomato sauce and cheese covered our eggplant parmesan and lasagna! The lasagna was a floating mass of cheese; like it had been put in a blender, poured into a dish and put under the broiler. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Best value for your money in town. Big portions, great prices. Excellent service, clean and a nice atmosphere. Always consistent for over 10 years of eating here.

Excellent food and service! Friendly staff- even on Christmas Eve. Seafood piccata was really good. Lemony, garlicky goodness! Hubby had Lasagne which was cheesy and was smothered in a near perfect Marinara. Both entrees served with soup or salad, we had salad which was very crisp and excellent blue cheese dressing served on the side. House Chianti was very good and nicely chilled (they offer your choice of chilled or room temp- nice touch). Want to try more of their extensive menu- we'll be back. Mama's is a stand out in the"food desert" that is Englewood.

Came here from the recommendations on yelp. It was great with big portions and very fresh. I really liked the sausage and peppers. I would recommend.

There's a reason this place is so popular. Value prices, good quality and nice sized portions. I've never left hungry and in fact usually take home some leftovers. Depending on what time you to, there may be a wait, but if you're craving no frills Italian food, this is your place

Unusual Pizza Pricing Asked waitress if they could do "half and half" pizza toppings and was told, "sure", so we ordered two toppings on one-half and two different toppings on the other half of the large pie. When the bill arrived, we were charged for four toppings. When I questioned this, I was told that they put the full pizza amount of topping on each half. "We have been doing it this way for 32 years". This may be their practice, but I can't remember any other restaurant doing this. Might be a good idea to state this on the menu or advise the customer, beforehand.

Exactly what a small family Italian restaurant should be. Very friendly service, classic, casual decor and the food is to die for. The marinara is perfectly seasoned - just a tad salty which I love. Calzones and pizza crusts are pull-apart, warm doughy goodness... Super soft on the inside while donning a nice, thin crispy outer layer. I visited my retired parents in Englewood and was blown away by Mama's. With my work, I have had the opportunity to dine in many great eateries around the world but this was absolutely the best neighborhood Italian I have ever had. Will definitely be back and feel so lucky to have discovered this gem!

Great place! Friendly staff, classic decor, and very large portions!! You will not go away hungry!! Went with the family, and they are still talking about it days later. Will look forward to going back on our next visit!

Almost having resigned ourselves to eating at Pizza Hut, Mama's Italian Restaurant appeared almost like a mirage around a corner. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, even though it was quite obvious that they were very busy. Since it was our first time there and we were ordering takeout, they brought us samples of the soup that they recommended. The food was very tasty and an excellent value. I had the cheese-stuffed ravioli with meat sauce.

There's not much as far as sit down restaurants in Englewood, but Mama's is a diamond in the rough. The food is a GREAT value with most plates priced under $10. The garlic bread is really good. The soup is hearty. I had a seafood pasta dish with garlic and oil and it was very good. The staff was very friendly. BTW, credit cards are now accepted.

Had dinner there last night. Staff was friendly, and accommodating. Ray had the shrimp marco polo, which he enjoyed, and I had the light eaters eggplant Parmesan. The cheese was bubbly and lightly browned over the casserole dish, it was delish and I still had to take half of it home.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
