High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

This is a cool bar with over 25 televisions to watch a myriad of games and sports news. Our waitress was very quick to find us and get our drink order. The menu is traditional pub food. Our table ordered wings with a house buffalo, fried pickles, and a basket of fries to start. The fries seemed a bit skimpy and didn't fill the basket they were served in. The wings are good and crispy; the sauce is mild with not much of a bite if any. My friend ordered a blackened chicken Cesar Salad. He was disappointed as it was way overdressed and from my point of view not appealing. I had a barbecue burger, it was ok and again nothing special or exciting about it. The service was above average and pleasant. Our food order was processed and served quickly. The restaurant is relatively clean but I did notice several tables remained littered with dirty plates for the time we had lunch. A little more effort to spice things up in the kitchen could render this a four star eatery.

We have eaten here a few times. I really want to like this place. I guess because I love the Irish themed pub we frequent in MD. This place has, at best, been mediocre. The menu looks quite appealing. However there is little care in the execution. Our last visit was two evenings ago. I ordered the blackened chicken dinner with house made chips and my husband ordered "Cuban" sandwich with curly fries. The sandwich, although not really a Cuban as it had salami instead of pork, was tasty. But the accompanying fries were cold. The waitress brought "new" fries but they had clearly been microwaved and soggy, not freshly fried. My chicken was also tasty, even though I prefer to have the little fatty bits and connective tissue from the skin trimmed off. My house made chips could have been enjoyable, had they been shaken or stirred while cooking. Instead, a third of them were in clumps with large starchy raw areas. I guess we will keep looking for the pub fare that hits the mark, here in PC/Englewood.

Standard sports bar with all of the games and average pub fare. Plain and simple, Beef O'Brady's is just what you want when you want to catch a game that isn't shown on your home cable package or network TV. Pops and I went to check out the Detroit Lions game this Sunday and the Lions (as per usual) were disappointing, whereas the atmosphere was as to be expected and exactly what we were looking for. We had a nice waitress who did rush us through our game, food, or drink orders. We decided to split the appetizer chicken fingers and potato skins. Both were decent. He drank Yuengling and I decided on Angry Orchard. There seemed to be a good mix of older folks catching their home team, families who accompanied their husbands out to watch the game and to catch a meal, and a table or two of young-er locals. No one seemed out of place or unwelcome. A good time was had by all, except the Detroit Lions.

How about a local write a review now?!?! Hahaha just kidding snowbirds and tourists. So the service here is subpar. The waitress took forever to bring us our drinks, take our order and bring us our food. The wings are ehhhh and the table was still wet from the soaked rag they used. The place was empty and every other table ordered already so there was really no excuse for the lag in service. She seemed bothered to even wait on us. And the Television placement in this location is terrible. You have to crank your neck just to see the one above you, not like at the other sports bars I have been to. I would definitely go somewhere else if given the choice next time. The O'Bradys in North Port is much more attentive and friendly.

Not happy. Found a blood stained band-aid in my prime rib sandwich. They refused to own up to it. I'm on vacation with my family. They insisted we pay the bill and we said no and left. Unhappy customer. Don't we still use gloves in food preparation?

Poor quality food, but an ok place to watch a game. Been here a half dozen times and never had a decent meal. Skip it unless you just want to have a drink and watch sports.

Had Philly steak/cheese. Steak was more crumbs than sliced beef. It sat in a pool of flavored greese. Could not pick it up and eat it. Wife had Dubliner and said it tasted like caferia food. Coke was so watered down that it had no flavor. First and last time for this chain. Service was OK place was not very busy.

Went in on a Sunday to watch games and have some food! There was nobody in the place, couldn't hear game because of a few people on the loud video games. Felt like it was an effort to wait on us!

First, the staff was not the problem, they were attentive and friendly. Who designed this place. The TV's are all against the wall, most tables are against the wall. Picture yourself watching a tv that is six foot above you on the same wall, you can't hardly do it, your neck needs to play tricks to look up and see the closest TV's, this is at best very odd, what were they thinking. If you sit in the middle of the large area you are ok but don't get a booth table or you won't be able to see the TV. Then we ordered their drink special and they were out of ingredients to make it. Next the we ordered what we had in the past, a paddy melt cheeseburger, normally very good. This time the chef must have counted the number of fried onions as they were virtually non-existent and the fries were an insulting amount. Next time we drive the extra 10 miles to the Port Charlotte location. This place is clean and the beer fresh but too many other drawbacks to return
