In my fiance and I's quest for awesome Asian restaurants we decided to try Thai Town. It is fairly close to us and the reviews seemed promising. We started off with hot tea (which was good but the tea bag is just put in a cup and brought out unlike other places that use decorative teapots and sake cups...not a big deal but I prefer the tea pots so I can have several refills) and spring rolls. The spring rolls were larger than I expected and were good but seemed more like chinese egg rolls than the spring rolls I'm used to at thai places. I had the pad thai with tofu (my go-to dish) and my fiance had a seafood curry dish. Both were very good and had excellent spice levels (we prefer hot.) The service was very friendly and prompt. The price was reasonable as well. It's not my favorite thai place but it was still very good and worth checking out. I think when we go back we'll try a different appetizer. The thai wings sounded very good.

Best Thai food in the area I just moved down from PA & this is the only place I will go. I ahve tried others that were okay & just horrible. Dont be fouled because its in a strip mall this place is great.

I have been eating here for years :) Lovely place a bit limited seated on the inside but my family always orders take out. I love the Chicken Pad Thai! I get no spice hubby get med spicy. The portions are great for the price and the food is always fresh!

Thai Town is our family's go-to take out restaurant. The food is always fresh and flavorful and we love the assortment of options. My personal favorites are Tom Kha soup and Pineapple Curry (both with veggies) although I've been impressed by their Pad Thai. Make sure to indicate the type of spice you'd like as they're happy to make it Thai spicy if you'd prefer. With coupons in the local papers, we can usually pick up a meal for two for $20 with leftovers for the next day. Their prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food served. Tucked in a strip mall on Main Street in Dunedin, Thai Town is a diamond in the rough and a restaurant I highly recommend.

Ordered food for takeout. Both the cashew nut chicken and the chicken pad thai were delicious! Great little place you would never suspect is so clean on the inside and makes such a great meal!

Favorite Thai food in the area. Love the red curry chicken. If you order the hot spice level, it is actually hot which is nice since most other similar places tend to keep things pretty mild. The menu offers a Thai hot spice level which is even hotter which I haven't yet tried because hot is prefect for me. They offer delivery in a three mile radius!

Food did not have subtle flavored usually associated with Thai food. Very poor quality.

This is like Dunedin's version of Bangkok (from downtown St. Pete). They are delicious and inexpensive. The inside of their restaurant is VERY small and at lunch time it is usually packed. I love their Panang Chicken and their Thai tea. You wouldn't expect such amazing Thai food in such a dingy little strip center, but it's true. Also, be on the lookout for coupons - they are always running coupons for B1G1 entrees and things of the like. You can usually find the coupon book in the laundry mat next door. This truly is a hidden gem of Dunedin.

This place is awesome. The service is good but the food is even better. Try the jumbo shrimp dish, it's out if this world. Dinner is better than lunch, the menu is bigger and the portions are bigger but still is a great place for lunch or dinner.

We just moved to the area and decided to order dinner for take out on a Friday night. The soups were fantastic and the panang sauce was amazing as well. White rice accompanied each main dish. We ordered Tom Yum soup, Tom Kha soup, panang duck, Thai town lobster and beef pad thai. It was all superb! The staff is courteous and our order was ready as promised (15-20 mins). When we got home, all of the dishes stayed nicely in their containers..nothing leaked or was messy when we took them out of the bags. Highly recommend that you ck it out.

This place is a hidden jewel. Try the thai town rolls- yummy! Nice people, great service, and WOW the food is A++!

I recently visited on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly delighted with the experience. The lunch combos they offer are very reasonably priced, about $7-$8 for soup, spring roll and large serving of the main entree(and they almost always have B1G1 coupons in the local flyer :) ). The veggie soup was outstanding, very unique spices and crisp fresh veggies. The pad Thai was great too! The 3rd time I went back I tried the cashew nut chicken, which had lots of fresh veggies and great flavor. I highly recommend checking it out, don't let the dingy plaza that its in keep you away

Excellent! A friend recommended Thai Town, so we tried it tonight. Husband ordered Massaman Curry . . . there's none left! Delicious! 11-year-old ordered beef in broccoli sauce with mushrooms . . . very first comment: "These vegetables are good!". I ordered pad Thai with chicken & vegetables . . . Yumm! I have enough left over for two lunches this week. We ordered take out, but are eager to dine in. Have driven by a million times. Don't be put off by the strip store surroundings. As soon as you open the door, the strip mall is gone! Looking forward to going back with friends.

Possibly the best local Thai food. Tom Yum Thai is decent too (nearby), but I think this place is a bit better. Consistent, very yummy, clean and nice dining area.

I always order take out from here as it's very close to my work and home. I did dine in once and the service was lovely. Super friendly staff and food delicious as ever.

Amazing!! So I haven't had Thai in awhile due to the fact it's very hard to find good Thai. Thank you yelpers for your reviews!! I took a chance Thai Town in Dunedin & me & my tummy is so happy!! Seriously, I was blown away on how delicious , light, fresh, & well prepared my vegetable & chicken dish was with brown rice. Thank you & I/we will be back,

The restaurant is located in a very unassuming plaza, but the interior is actually pretty nice. The staff is very friendly and the food is fresh. I ordered takeout from Thai Town recently, the price and quantity of food alone will bring me back. $8.95 for a huge, huge portion! The Thai Basil Chicken was decent. I would prefer something with a little more spice next time. I suppose that could be my fault for not specifying my preferred heat level. You can always find coupons for buy one, get one half off entrees. If I had been ordering for more than one person I would definitely have taken advantage of one of those. But I ended up with two meals worth of leftovers from just one entree, no need for a second. I would have been set for the month. Thai restaurants are plentiful, but this is one of my favorites!

Sleeper in a strip mall. Unassuming from the outside. Food ROCKS. We were blown away by the deliciousness, freshness, portion size, piquancy, value for cost and just everything about this lovely restaurant. The larb is to die for. We'll be back, whenever we have spare change to eat out. Can't recommend more highly if you love Thai food.

Great atmosphere with very beautiful teak furniture. Personal attention is key here. Lots of local vegetables and fish. Try the whole snapper! Soups are very nice and seem to have magic combinations of flavor. Put this place on your good list!

  • Kai N.

Surprisingly decent. If you are a Thai food connoisseur it won't knock your socks off but the dishes I've tried (the soups, pad see-ew, pad Thai, basil chicken etc) provide a more than acceptable experience.

It is literally a hole in the wall place, don't let the strip mall deceive you. I would've turned around if I hadn't read the reviews beforehand. I stumbled upon this place by accident actually. We were looking for good Thai food and were literally driving around while I looked on Yelp. I got the ginger curry which was amazing. Their Tom Khar soup was on point. It was the perfect amount of spice all around, and the food was surprisingly quick.

Even though this is not the best Thai I've ever had, this is the best Thai I have found in Tampa Bay. Too bad I don't live anywhere near Dunedin. The steamed dumplings had a fishy taste so I did not like those. The tom kha and pad see u were very very good.

Returning from a day at the beach and in the mood for more heat we decided on an early dinner at Thai Town. The exterior was nondescript but the interior was a world unto its own; statues, intricate elephant carvings, tapestries and faux tusks encircling an alter. Our host/waiter/likely owner greeted us warmly and ushered us to a quiet table. My SO ordered the special; curry with shrimp, pumpkin, vegetables and slivered almonds. I opted for the panang curry (Thai hot) with tofu. It took 20 minutes from the time we walked through the door to the time our entrées were brought out. The chef did a great job actually making the dish hot and spicy unlike most places which cater to a bland American palate. Even though the dish was swimming in peppers I could still taste individual spices and you didn't lose the divine sweetness of the coconut milk. Flavorful, filling and flaming hot I enjoyed every bite. My only complaint is that the rice was overcooked.

Moved nearby about a two months ago and have been to Thai Town at least once a week since. The food is amazing. We have tried a variety of menu items and all have been fantastic. The peanut sauce is homemade, unlike many other Thai restaurants!

In a run down looking strip mall but walk inside to find a intimate, warm decor traditionally decorated restaurant. We were greeted upon arrival and promptly seated. The menu and the daily special list were on the table. Each offered a nice variety and moderate prices. The Thai Sampler appetizer was incredible. That was followed up with the "amazing" with shrimp for me and chicken for him. It stood up to its name, AMAZING. We will certainly be back

This is probably the best Thai food I have had yet. I ordered the garlic chicken lunch special, the healthy rolls, and the chicken pad Thai lunch special to go. The garlic chicken was amazing. I feel as if the sauce was seasoned perfectly and the chicken was cooked just right. I just wish they would have added a little bit more rice with my meal. The pad Thai was really tasty as well. The only thing I can say is they could have added a tad bit more chicken in the pad Thai but other than that, the favors were delicious. I normally do not like sauces that contain peanuts in it; however, I just could not stop eating it! The healthy rolls were really good, and I was able to taste the freshness of everything that went inside of it. My garlic chicken and my pad Thai both came with a soup and a spring roll, which also tasted good. The guy who works there was really nice and made a lot of good recommendations. For those who are looking to try some really good Thai food, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

We've been here for lunch and dinner a number of times and we always leave happy..This food is what we call good clean food..lots of veggies, quality meat , very tasty and never too much salt. Reasonably priced. We try to eat healthy and never feel bad when we leave. Well worth the visit..

Best pad Thai I've had in a very long time. They are always so friendly here and they have never messed up my take out orders. What more can I ask for? The servings are big enough to share.

Love this place. Excellent food in a serene environment. Do not let the exterior and the unassuming location deter you.

  • Amanda D.

I've done take out and dine in here. Food is ready quickly and service is good. The Tom yum and Tom kha soups are both decent (although a little heavy on the red onion sometimes). The curries are also decent. The medium spice level has been spot on each time. The only thing I haven't cared for is the curry fried squid - too greasy and no discernable curry flavor; the squid was tender though.

Great find! I have been several times and would not have because of the location....in a strip mall and by the look I would turn away. But am so glad that I did! Such a great place to eat or take out! Food is always ALWAYS fresh and so delicious. The people are so customer-friendly and want you to love what you are eating. Enjoy!

Everything was very tasty. They were knowledgeable and proactive about making sure our gluten-free items were not cross contaminated. They did have gluten-free soy sauce on hand for my kids with gluten allergies, which was awesome.

This place was recommended to me by a friend of mine, when my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to take his mother for dinner We were a little hesitant, due to its location in a strip mall, but don't judge a book by its cover and all that. So here we were. We definitely went the 'family style' route since none of us could decide on one dish. Massaman Curry- I have been looking for the perfect curry since coming back from Thailand a couple years ago, and this place may take the cake. Thai Town Satay Wrap- I feel would have been better to chop it all up and mix it as a salad. All of the components were great though. Mighty Duck- Was very good, sauce was yummy, but I think there could have been more duck. Pork Fried Rice- Yum and Yum. Overall, awesome meal. Our table was ridiculously full of food, we had leftovers and the price was surprisingly low for the amount of food.

Hidden gem! From the outside, the strip mall location leaves much to be desired. Inside is a whole new colorful Asian world. You'd want to bring a date there, but could scare them away with the first impression before you got close to the door! But the food will keep you coming back, especially for Take Out. The Thai tea is spot on. The BEST Shrimp Pad Thai I have ever had anywhere. Flavorful, light, lots of shrimp, not a bit oily. Super filling but not "heavy" like a pasta dish.

Super yummy Thai food and so reasonable! Chicken Pad Thai is great and so is the veggie spring rolls! Prices are very reasonable, owners are always vey nice and accommodating. This is our go to Thai take out place and we live 15 minutes away!

If you like Thai food you will probably appreciate this little place. It's in a strip shopping center so don't expect fancy on the outside. Inside is appropriately decorated. The food is anywhere from good to very good. We have been back many times and the same dishes are not always consistent. I especially like the amazing chicken and the pad Thai. The peanut sauce is sometimes too thin, sometimes too thick and sometimes just right When it's right it's heaven O ther times it's good. Soups are really good and spring rolls sometimes a little over cooked but usually fine. Price is good. Service is good.

This is a fantastic Thai restaurant. It is consistently good and we enjoy coming here while in Dunedin. The fresh basil rolls are very good, red curries are enjoyable , and noodle dishes are tasty . We know Thai food and this place is excellent . Staff is welcoming and efficient.

We had amazing chicken. It was a little spicy, but overall was good. The only part we didn't like was the hard under cooked cabbage that they put in. We were told that it could be omitted in the future.

We had pad thai, pineapple fried rice, red curry, and fried red sannpaer, satay, and thai spring roll. all food were either bad or okay. only thai spring roll was good. in general the food was not even close to a taste of thai.

Was meeting an old friend for lunch and we decided to go for Thai food. Found Thai Town on Yelp so we decided to meet there. I think I programmed the wrong street # into my GPS so I had a difficult time finding it. But find it I did and it was well worth the search. As other reviews noted, it's in a rather funky strip mall on Main Street. I ordered the squid with flat noodles and Thai basil. When I told the waitress I'd like it spicy, I was encouraged and amused when she asked me "Thai spicy?" And it was spicy! Loved it. Had a Singha Thai beer which was the perfect accompaniment. My.friend had chicken red curry, also delicious. Given it was Thursday lunch, the place was full. That certainly tells you something. Definitely going back!

  • Amy S.

Delicious food! I have only tried two thai places in Pinellas County since moving down from Philadelphia, but regardless Thai Town takes the cake. The pad thai is amazing, and the basil noodle dish was fantastic. I usually get both chicken and veggies; it costs two extra dollars but it is worth it because you have a variety and it is more food. It is awesome they don't just add both chicken and veggies and give you less, nope!!!! You get tons of food!! They are fast and friendly there!! I highly recommend!!

Got take out once and just ate in for the first time. The service is excellent and the food is above and beyond good! We were nervous based on exterior appearance but saw good reviews so decided to give it a try. We just moved to the area and it is our new favorite place. The inside has very nice decor and is clean. It seems to be family owned based on how well the staff works together. I had vegetable fried rice. Husband had a vegetable stir fry with rice. We had spring rolls and brought home Thai Town Amazing Combo for our son. It was all excellent! Don't let the strip mall fool you, this place is good and worth a try. The locals certainly know how good it is because there was a steady flow of customers. Glad we tried it!

  • Maran F.

Ignore the strip mall location. This is a hidden gem! I've had lunch here dozens of times. The food is excellent, the decor is adorable, and the service is cheerful. My go-to is the green curry, but I've tried about half of the options on the lunch menu and never been disappointed.

  • Dee D.

Very good Thai food! Place was sparkling clean and the food was piping hot. Masaman curry was delicious as was the Tom Yum soup. The fresh rolls were great as was the two sauces that went with it. You won't be disappointed. Eat local!

  • Arp L.

If you're looking for great Thai food, look no more. Ignore the strip mall location - the food is excellent. I can't live without tom kha soup and their's is as good as any I've had elsewhere. And if you like heat along with your flavor, they can really bring it.

We enjoyed every bit of what we ordered from Thai Town; Crab Rangoon Pad Thai?, Amazing Sauce Vegetables, Veggie Soup and Spring Rolls. Yum! will definitely visit again. The driver got lost to my apt..other then that loved it!

Best Thai food around:) really enjoyed the squid green curry. Good wine selection (for Thai) and very reasonably priced. Def choose here over any other place in town!! Went here after Tom rub turned us away (since they closed in 15 mins) Biggest mistake they made.. Because we will always choose Thai town now! Way friendlier and way better food!
