This place is AWESOME! Their hot dogs are inexpensive and delicious. I love supporting local business and the very nice owners make it easy to like this place, and the hot dogs make it easy to love.

Great hot dogs, but I feel like the place is never open. Make sure to check the hours. I wish they were open late and on Sundays too. Try the Chicago dog!

After loving in Dunedin for, well, my entire life, I'm still surprised when I find new places to try. I was strolling around downtown on a recent weekday afternoon when I stumbled upon hot dogs on main and decided to give it a try. When I stepped inside, I realized this was a VERY small restaurant, really just a small area to order, no indoor seating. The service was quick and friendly, I was greeted right away. They offer a wide variety of unique & creative hot dogs as well as Italian beef sandwiches, Italian sausage, etc. I chose the picnic dog - with potato salad and pickle on top. Sounded so different I just couldn't resist! Being that there was nowhere to sit inside I grabbed a seat at one of 3 small tables on the sidewalk. I'm personally not a fan of eating outside especially on a hot florida day, but there was no other choice. The flavor of the actual hot dog was good and the seeded bun was soft and tasty. However i was a bit disappointed and felt it was missing something. The potato salad and pickle wasn't as flavorful as it could have been, probably could have used mustard on top to zing it up a bit. Overall, I like the concept, the service was good and I like to support local business, so I will probably give it a shot again.

I definitely like this place and will be back for the Italian Beef with Peppers Sandwich. We wound up over here after eating Diner somewhere else down the road where my wife wouldn't eat what she ordered so I knew of this place but didn't know if they were in business. So we walked on down the road and Boom they were open , and I am glad too.

I usually come in here about once a month when I feel like cheating on my diet. My favorite by far (I'm a Southern girl, after all!) is the Dixie Dog, which comes with both chili and coleslaw, like every great hot dog should. I originally thought that they were a bit expensive, but they are so fully loaded with toppings that one hot dog makes a complete meal. I have tried to expand my horizons. My last experiment was with their Greek Dog, which comes with black olives, tomatoes, feta and a pepperoncini. It is extremely tasty. They also have veggie dogs and my vegetarian friends say they are great, A great way to experiment is to try their dog of the day, which gives you a choice of a drink or chips for a discount. But I always return to my old faithful Dixie Dog. I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch or a light dinner.

Hot Dogs on Main is a MUST GO in Dunedin. I passed this place for months and didn't waltz in. Don't make my mistake. The lovely Brooklynite couple that owns this wonderful establishment are just as appealing as their hot dogs. Super friendly and won't hesitate to give you their recommendation. Sit outside. Enjoy the air. They'll bring your hot dogs out to you. I highly recommend the dixie dogs, loaded with chili and (North) Carolina style slaw these are to die for. As a dixie girl, they get my stamp of approval! All their dogs are great though, I've tried most. They have organic, turkey and vegetarian/vegan (?) dogs available too.

Not too long ago, I woke up one morning craving a hot dog. Pretty strange considering I haven't eaten a hot dog in about 10 years. But these kinds of craving must be satisfied, right? A quick Yelp search popped up Hot Dogs on Main in Dunedin. So later that day I find myself swinging down Main St in search of a freshsly made dog. As there is construction of new sidewalks going on in Dunedin, it took me driving down the street 3 times just to see a sign with a big hot dog on it that was plainly by the side of the road. Man, I need to get my glasses checked, as it was hiding in plain site. But thank goodness the sign was there, as Hot Dogs on Main is tucked into a tiny slice of a series of storefronts in the block. The sign on the building is hard to see, but keep looking for the streetside hot dog sign, and if you see a storefront sign that says "Kookie Krums", you're just 2 doors away. But was all this 10 minutes of searching worth it? Absolutely. Entering the door, a quick glance in front of me showed a big 2-page spread in the St. Pete Times titled, "Gourmet hot dogs bring new flavor to Tampa Bay," with Hot Dogs on Main prominently and favorably featured as the first restaurant out of 3. Things were already looking good. The friendly proprietor, Susan, greeted me quickly with a big smile and a menu and asked if she could help. Turns out Susan is a personal chef by trade, so she knows her way around good food, including the quality ingredients that make up a humble, but great tasting dog. But Susan has raised the bar in search of the perfect dogs with a menu of 15+ versions of classic and custom hot dogs, all of them sounding delicious. And here's just a short list: - For kids, a 3-inch "puppy" ($1.25) - For grownup kids, they can get a foursome of those 3-inch links for $6 that includes a sampling of some of Susan's most popular creations: plain dog ($2.75 for a full-sized), the Southern Dog (fresh coleslaw, $2.95 for a full-sized), the Brooklyn Dog (sauerkraut and spicy mustard, $2.95), or a classic chili dog ($3.50). - The Dixie Dog ($3.90) with a mix of cumin-seasoned chili and crisp housemade coleslaw - The Greek Hound Dog ($5.75) which includes pepperoncini, tzatziki, feta, cuke, olives - The "poodle dog," a reduced-fat version - The Italian Greyhound which has pesto and shaved Pecorino Romano. - and many more If you can't find a hot dog here that sounds good, check your pulse. But the classic Chili Dog with onions is what caught my eye, and just a few moments later it appeared in all its splendor, a nice big dog on a soft bun, smothered in chili and onions. The flavors mixed extremely well, and I wish I had more time to sample a few more versions. But that means I'll have to just come back soon. And I will. They have canned drinks and bottled water, but seating inside is limited to a small 2-seat table, so most orders are to go. The sidewalk construction outside will add some valuable extra seating that should be very comfortable under a nice big shade tree. Susan and I chatted a good while about why she chose her standard hot dog, Chicago's Vienna brand, a very tasty, skinless all-beef dog that comes 6 to a pound. When she started Hot Dogs on Main, she offered both Nathan's or Vienna, but lots of tastings and feedback put the Vienna on top to stand alone. Not to fear, though, if you like something different she offers kosher Hebrew Nationals, an Applegate organic turkey dog, or an Yves veggie dog. The cool thing about stopping by Hot Dogs on Main is not just a chance to chow down on a rockin' dog, but a chance to make a new friend in Susan. Yes, she's that friendly and makes you feel like family, evidenced by regular customers that came in and were greeted with hugs and conversation. If only more restaurants would realize that a pleasurable meal is not just what shows up on the plate, but in the hearts, smiles and personality of the folks that make and serve it. Fun little place to visit if your looking for a custom hot dog. It's easy to stop in and take it to go. I enjoyed a delicious dog with cheddar, served fresh with a smile.

Great ingredients. Clean environment and staff with a great attitude. Prices a little higher than expected but worth it to have quality ingredients. To go a bit messy maybe need wax paper then foil to prevent cheese and toppings sticking.

I've always been pretty skeptical of hot dog joints, wondering, who leaves their house to eat the lowly hot dog, something even the culinary-challenged college grunt can create in the most drunken of states? Well I've been to this spot a couple of times, and both times I left impressed. This time I ordered the BLT dog and added cheddar. Hammercy! So good! My only wish is that the hot dogs, at $4 and $5, were a bit bigger, as opposed to the standard size dog. I RARELY eat hot dogs, so I'd even be willing to pay a little extra for something more substantial. Nonetheless, friendly service. Creative flavors. I will be back!

Hot Dogs on Main has the best hot dogs I have ever had. The Chili Cheese Dog was great. The best hot dog I've ever had was the Dixie Dog, it's a chili dog with, wait for it...coleslaw, legendary. The hot dogs are amazing, but even the toppings that go on the hot dogs are fresh and put these hot dogs over the top. Definitely will go back again for lunch. They are very reasonable priced, the only bad thing is choosing which hot dog to get. I was too full to get some ice cream, but it looked good, and plan on getting some next time.

Visit time/day: weekend afternoon Atmosphere: walk-up counter inside with a few outdoor tables, cute, kitschy, home made I grew up in the Detroit area and had no idea other cities didn't have Coney's on every corner so I constantly miss Coney dogs, greasy fries, gyros, Greek salads, etc. - especially on the weekends when I might be a bit hung over ;) So began the search for a Coney dog joint and Hot Dogs on Main seems to be the only one still open in Dunedin. The owner, who was super friendly, handed us adorable hand-written printed on yellow 8 1/2 x 11 paper, menus with cute names for various topping combos. This being our 'test run' of the place, we chose classics - I got the Chicago Dog and my bf got the Coney Dog. Both were just delicious - really fresh ingredients, crunchy relish/onions, perfectly steamed bun, good quality hot dogs. Wish I would have taken a photo of the menu because there were some really creative combos. And, I love that you can get a veggie, turkey, or all beef hotdog substituted on every dog creation. I wish they had fries available because really the only time I feel like a hot dog, I want some fries with it, but understand given the space. Also, the prices were a little higher than I'm used to paying for a hotdog, but the quality is there so it's worth the splurge.

Hot Dogs on Main is fantastic! I get the Greek turkey dog every time but my boys eat beef and try different dogs each time we go. I've also had two events catered with mini chili dogs from Hot Dogs on Main and both times they were a hit!

We are from up north and we had our favorite hot dog joint up there. To our surprise there weren't very many hot dog places down here. When we first moved we tried a few places just to come home disappointed in the quality of what we are used to. Then we found Hot Dogs on Main... um, yum! Best place for hot dogs that we've been to in seven years. Great variety, great price, and treated politely and with a courtesy every time. We've been back several times already (this wasn't our first visit) and we'll be back in the future. We tried (meaning we shared) the Rueben dog this time as well as our usual dogs and we were pleasantly surprised by it's yummy factor. Who would have ever thought that a Rueben hot dog would be as good as the sandwich!? Wonderful experience as always! Keep up the awesome work.

Being from Chicago we like to find all the local places that serve Chicago style food and this small cute ice cream shop in downtown Dunedin also serves up some awesome Chicago style hot dogs. The owners are great and very friendly and welcoming. They do have some seating outside to have some ice cream and enjoy the great Florida days. If you are in the area and in the mood for a hotdog and some ice cream then this is the place. Keep up the great work!

I love hot dogs on main! The dogs are delicious with a great variety. Reasonably priced and the owners are very nice. Susan is so sweet and remembers her customers. I come here every time I visit Dunedin (usually more than once per trip). I can't say enough great things. :)
