These people know how to operate a B&B! I love kids but it's nice to be away from not only our kids at times but everyone else's too. This place provides that, no little kids or teenagers, private beach area. Delicious food. I can not overemphasize how good the food is. Everything needed for complete relaxation is to be found here. We'll worth the money.

Please give the Henderson Park Inn ten stars for us. My wife and I enjoyed four wonderful days laying on the beach being pampered by the fantastic Henderson staff. Complimentary breakfast, box lunch and happy hour! No kids, no pets, no one under 25 sorry!! We're scheduling a return trip soon or maybe we'll never leave!!!

This place is off the hook! Wonderful view, great staff and a awesome place to take your spouse for the weekend. They have a private beach next to Henderson State Park and you don't have to worry about the crowds.

Wonderful stay at the Inn. Quiet, relaxing, kid and crowd free! Everything is stocked and accessible so we had no needs or complaints--thus we rarely had to ask for assistance. Beautiful beach with chairs and towels. Love being next to the state park. Lovely deck, fire pit, hammocks, everything. Food is tasty and plentiful. Simply comfortable. Top notch.

I really liked this place a lot. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice with views of the ocean, it's right on the beach and you have private beach with chairs. They do complimentary happy hour cocktails in the evenings and even provided boxes lunches for you to enjoy as well. And, the restaurant on site is really good since we had the dinner one night there also. It's a romantic place and I like that it's not a large property either. They also have a fully stocked fridge with waters, soda, candy, etc. which is also a plus.

This place is amazing... Perfect ocean views and service. Designed for the ultimate romantic experience. Definitely recommend to stay at the Inn and book a ocean view room with a balcony. We didn't think the restaurant delivered the same 'wow' feel in terms of food quality price comparison but this experience might be different in the summer when dining actually outdoors on the beach (toes in the sand offer).

This BNB is unlike anything we've ever experienced before! We haven't even checked out yet and already writing a five-star review! The fire pit by the beach just added to the romance of the whole place. We WILL be returning.

We had dinner there last night. My wife had the mushroom appetizer, and her entre was the shrimp and grits ($25). I had the ribeye ($34). The portions were pretty fair, but not overly-generous. The steak, in particular, seemed a bit small. The service was very good, although not the best we've ever had by any means. The only actual complaint I could give about it...and this is really not a big issue...is that our server took quite a while after the food arrived at our table to check back to ensure we were happy with our meals. Including two glasses of "house" wine our tab came to $90. We had a Groupon to use, so that cut the cost by a bit. For a waterfront restaurant of this quality I thought the menu prices were a little on the "high side." The dining area is very clean, even by Destin standards, which I consider to be generally high. Parking is pretty good, considering the very expensive real estate the restaurant is on. Daytime views are spectacular. The street side of the restaurant is a bit understated and plain. I don't care about the signage. But I think the area where the restaurant customers park should be a little better cared for, and better lighted. We'll go back when there is a Groupon available.. Individual Ratings: Food quality: 5 stars Portion sizes: 4 stars Price/Value: 3 stars Cleanliness: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Parking and curb appeal: 3 stars Beach view: 5 stars

Absolutely wonderful!! My husband and I stayed here for three nights and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We did not have an ocean view from our room but our room was still great! Breakfast and lunch were delicious. Highly recommend this place!

This is a review of the restaurant. Ambiance was so-so. It could have been 5 stars but there is no separate dining room inside the B&B. We ate inside and it was distracting to have people watching TV in an adjacent room. Tip: It probably would have been better if we had had our meal outside on the patio. Recommend giving that a try. The food was very good! I had the Caprese salad which was ok and my entree was Chilean Sea Bass over rice with an asparagus sauce. The bass was excellent and the rice and asparagus sauce was delicious! My wife had the Yellowfin tuna and said it was seared perfectly! Her only issue with it was that it served luke warm. For dessert we tried the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. Yum O! Highly recommend it! I also had a French Press coffee - which was very weak. I like very strong coffee so that was a bummer. The service is 5 stars! They really treat you right here, starting with the complimentary valet parking. All of the staff were very friendly and hospitable - from the valet parking attendant to the hostess and wait staff. A VERY nice touch is that each lady dining with them is given a complimentary long stem rose! Well done! Overall we enjoyed our meal and recommend giving them a try and eating on the patio!

My man and I decided to escape from New Orleans for a few days. I wanted him to experience the beautiful beaches of Destin, so we headed that way, We stayed two nights at the Henderson Park Inn and we had a great time. Things that make this place awesome: 1. Adults only (With that being said- don't get any images of a swingers club, it just means no kids allowed.) 2. All the bottled water, soda and candy bars you can eat - FOR FREE! (Okay, this really excited me, because I LOVE candy. I guess they assume that "adults" won't overdo it, but I ate 5 candy bars in two days...) 3. Breakfast & lunch is included in your stay (breakfast includes an omelet station and lunch is your choice of yummy sandwich - vegetarian options as well) 4. Private beach (complete with chairs and umbrellas) 5. Romantic views (even the black-hearted will appreciate) 6. Awesome staff (They even mailed us a shirt that my boyfriend had accidentally left in the closet -free of charge) One drawback: Very expensive You do get what you pay for & if you have a little extra dough, I enthusiastically recommend this place!

We had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Henderson Beach Walk Cafe last weekend and it was nothing but amazing!! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. They printed up special menus for us that had our names on them and set up a special table for us on the patio. The view from the patio is amazing!!! It's so peaceful, the tiki torches that they have make it a gorgeous scene at night too. From our table we could hear the waves crash, which really topped the evening! The food is incredible. The Tuna is to die for!!! I highly recommend the Tuna entree. We also had the Grouper Venice which was very rich, but delicious as well. The crab spring rolls were a great start to the night and the salads were really delicious too. Seemed like everything that we ordered was amazing! We are planning to go back to Destin for our 1 year anniversary and we will for sure be having dinner at the Henderson to celebrate!

We love Bed and Breakfasts and have stayed at many. This was one of the finest and had so many extras you wouldn't expect. I can't say enough about the staff. Every one of them was sweet and helpful and was willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast was superb. The grits were the best I've ever tasted. Most days we had a pork grillades but on Thursdays they serve shrimp and grits that they teach us how to make on Wednesday. They also have a variety of fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, ham, yogurt, cereal, and the most amazing biscuits and gravy. They make Belgian waffles that are light and airy. And of course any type of egg or omelet you want. chef Greg serves everything with a smile and conversation. You would think after eating all that, we'd be done for the day, but no! Then they provide you a wonderful box lunch from Honeybaked Ham and put out home baked cookies, lemonade and iced tea. There are refrigerators stocked throughout the facility with water, soda and candy bars. At 4 it's happy hour with margaritas, wine, daquiris and beer. There are chairs and umbrellas provided for you on the beach and beach towels as well. They have bicycles that you can ride and nothing is extra. It is all just part of the service. I struggle to imagine anything else they can do to make you feel at home. A fantastic place to visit to feel relaxed and pampered.

This review is for the bed and breakfast, NOT the restaurant. I have stayed here 3 times now and it is simply top notch. Yes it is very expensive but if you can manage it, I promise it's worth every penny. You will feel like you're living the life of a celebrity for a week. After you add up all of the amenities plus the unbeatable location, you will agree that it's worth the cost. If you want to party, go elsewhere. If you want pure relaxation bliss, stay here. After staying here 3 times we still havent eaten at the restaurant, everyone says that it's very good but I'm not into such a upscale dinner. With the breakfast, snacks and lunch, if you leave here hungry, it's your fault! No kids allowed, 25 and older only. Complimentary happy hour on the deck every evening at 4pm. Make an effort to talk to the other guests and make friends. We were friends with nearly everyone in the building by our last day and hated to leave them. This goes for the staff as well. They are very nice and go out of there way to make you happy. Yes it's upscale, yes you must hide your crazy but you will be pampered and waited on the entire time. Your welcome.

We spent part of our honeymoon here. Wow, what a great choice! Everyone is so super, genuinely nice. The place isn't fancy at all, just nice :) I want to live here! We ate appetizers in the room the first night. Eggplant medallions with crab meat, crab cake & portabella mushroom. Definitely a meal to savor with your eyes closed Thursday nights they have live music outside, very nice setting. Likely the best omelets I've ever had. Do iiiitttttt

Location is about is good as you can get, service was excellent, food was great! The banana cream pie was not as good as the hype made it out to be. Great place for a romantic date. This is a much better choice than paying the same price for terrible food around the Harbor Walk. I will definitly eat here again!

  • RR D.

Strange that I'm the first reviewer for the HPI, but let me tell you, this place is incredible. First off, the location alone is worth five stars. At the end of the road, next to Henderson Beach State Park, the seclusion you get staying here in the otherwise crowded Destin area is unparalleled. The food, service and overall experience is top-notch. From the manager that takes your reservation to the chef and wait staff that serve you in the restaurant, you're treated like the only guest there. Beach Walk, the restaurant, is amazing, as is the complimentary breakfast that guests receive. My wife and I were treated to incredible creations all three mornings we were there. Lunch is provided as a box-lunch style offering, from the Honeybaked Ham store. Nothing too fancy, but it'll hit the spot if you're sticking around the Inn. There are no children at the HPI...it's adults only, and it's 100% worth it. Celebrating an anniversary? Engagement? A weekend away from the kids? This is the place. If you want to relax with your significant other, there's nothing better. The staff is as accommodating as any Ritz or Four Seasons. Now, in fairness, the rooms and bathrooms at the HPI are nice, but it's not marble and crystal everywhere. This is just an incredibly well-run B&B, with great accommodations. It's as relaxing a time you could have on the Gulf coast, IMHO. I imagine that the experience at the HPI is what life was like before all the development in the Destin area. Bottom line, if you're looking for a couples-only romantic vacation, DO NOT miss the Henderson Park Inn.

  • Michelle G.

My husband and I visited Destin for the first time last summer at stayed at HPI. It was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious and well appointed, there was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. Nice touch. The beach is beautiful soft, white sand, HPI sets up beach chairs & umbrellas daily for their guest. They provide a buffett breakfast w/ omelet station and a (very good) boxed lunch. They have a fridge stocked w water, soda, and candy bars available anytime and happy hour each day. It was such a wonderful experience we are thinking about going back again this year. HPI is adults only, which is what we were looking for. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the price. During peak season it's pricey but with all the amenties they offer we expected it. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing vacation location in Destin.

Great location, lovely outside dining, great view, rude owner, the specifics are too awful to recount but we were run off ( out of an empty restaurant at 6.00pm) before we could order. It takes a lot to shake me but the owner here was plain old mean, rude and snooty, for the love of god this is Destin, not the Savoy in London!
