Very nice girl behind the counter. However extremely disappointed in the ice cream. Can't find a local place that has soft ice cream. Was excited that they had it. Went in and all the machines are down. Got a plain chocolate and unfortunately didn't like it at all. The mint my mother got was excellent though. All the displays were empty which isn't a good sign for the business. Don't think I will go back. Very disappointed. It is close by and thought it would be a great place to go. It was also extremely hot in there for a Florida ice cream shop. One plus is the prices are very good.

Stopped in while driving home to Tampa. Delicious ice cream and the person behind the counter (the owner?) was very friendly and helpful. Sampled the Earl Grey gelato but settled on the Thin Mints and it was delicious!! Liked that they have unusual and regular flavors as well. We'll be back the next time we're in Deland.

Yum - the ice cream is amazing here. Had the salted carmel and snickers and loved it. We found this "sweet spot" while passing through DeLand thanks to Yelp. Too bad we live so far away.

Amazing ice cream!! I would go there all the time if I lived there. I love that it is family owned and has different type of ice cream, not just the normal favors. A good place to go.

The Sweet Spot is awesome! Whenever my wife and I are by Downtown we always stop by. The ice cream is cheap and good! The smoothies are awesome! Owners/people that work there are friendly. Great place.

Different flavors every time I stop by. I haven't tried anything that I didn't absolutely love. Blackberry Cheesecake is my favorite flavor and I would recommend it to everyone! Stop by and support this wonderful small business after dinner downtown!

The fact that the owners of this place are displaced northerners (NY and NJ to be exact) just adds to how cool it is. Up front is really unassuming and you might just walk past it if you weren't looking for it. But the fact is that good homemade ice cream is hard to come by and this place has it. I'd say they also have northern charm, but they were really nice people so I can't. We even bonded over some northern NJ and NYC talk. Between my girlfriend and I, we tried about 6 different flavors and even the ones we didn't like we liked. If you're on one of the many restaurants on main street, you need to eat a desert here. It is worth the stop in.

delicious! I had two scoops: the special Thin Mint and chocolate. All the flavors are made in the store. The staff were friendly and the ice cream delicious. We'll definitely be returning for round two.

I absolutely LOVE this place! It is the tastiest homemade ice cream in town! A side from how yummy it is, it's such a welcoming place to bring your kids to! If you haven't stopped by yet, make sure you do!

Fantastic candies and confections made here. Lots of retro candy too. Try the chocolate dipped bacon. Nicest crew around too! Dipped twinkles, Oreos, marshmallows, pretzels, pretty much almost anything you can put chocolate over.

I love this place! The owner, Jimmy, is the best. We are locals, and my wife started the tradition of taking my son to get ice cream after school on Fridays as something to look forward to for the weekend. Our six year-old is an ice cream expert, and we let him pick every time. He picks Sweet Spot 90% of the time. Everything is homemade. If you're lucky, you can get the Thin Mint. It goes quickly as he has to stock up on Thin Mints every year. Maple bacon is great too!

All around a great place! Ice cream is delicious and reasonably priced. Genuinely kind and helpful staff. I love patronizing a business like this, it's becoming harder to find small businesses like this any more. Visit them and you will be glad you did!

If you're in the area you must stop by this ice cream shop! I'm not usually one to suggest going out for ice cream, but I had a hankering for some homemade ice cream and this place hit the spot. The girl working behind the counter tonight was so helpful after we told her it was our first visit and gave us so much information on how they make their ice cream. She even offered suggestions and let us sample! Her friendly demeanor is enough to make us want to come back! My husband got the maple bacon which he let me try. It was sweet and creamy without being too overwhelming, but the true star was the bacon which was thick cut and caramelized. I got the coffee and coffee caramel brownie which was to die for! This is definitely not ice cream you pick up in the local Publix. It's rich and creamy like nothing else I've tried! We will be back!

What a great find! I live in south Florida, but I visit Deland a couple of times per year to see family. My sister and I have created a tradition of having lunch downtown whenever I'm there. As chance would have it, we were parked in a different spot and had to walk past Sweet Spot. We decided to duck in for a treat. Wow! The owners are really friendly. The ice cream is out of this world! I actually decided to try the maple bacon. I was very pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend this place for the ice cream. They aren't really easy to find, but they're worth the hunt!
