Don't let the decor deter you from eating here! The chicken is absolutely delicious and is often requested by my husband who never, and I mean never requests chicken. The coating is crispy and has a really nice flavor to it and the meat is always moist and delicious. Even the next day the skin is crispy unlike other fried chicken where it has a tendency to get soggy after sitting in the fridge for a day. They make a few of their side dishes in house: potato salad, coleslaw, and the Mac 'n cheese which is my favorite. The vegetables aren't the best, but if you stick with their in-house selections you won't be disappointed. All the servers are friendly and knowledgeable; willing to answer any questions you may have about the food there. Prices are comparable to national chains, but you're definitely getting better quality food!

Sometimes you must ignore the oblivious because "the fried chicken is just that good". Look this drive-in has been here since 1957 and I wasn't around then but I'm guessing it looks very similar to how it did back then. Some may call it nostalgic some may call it worn out and in need of a renovation but the fact remains they ain't gonna be serving you up no pre-battered chicken that's been roosting under a heat lamp for a few hours. This is the kind of chicken my momma would be proud of. I don't know if they have issues or not it's very difficult to judge that, I trust they follow good food preparation practices and they get timely inspections, I go with the theory nothing survives 400 degree grease for 15 - 20 minutes. This is a no frills the wait is always to long kinda place that even the Colonel would be proud of. So I will continue to come here and if the chicken isn't enough to get you here note to file - they now serve fried pork chops beat that one pop-eye.

Like a step back in time. Nice service. Old school diner. Had the fried chicken basket. Large drinks in styrofoam cups. Good sides. Nice neighborhood place to visit. Left satisfied. Great prices. Old school neon and building on the outside!

I would love to give Hampton's a better review. We do eat there periodically because it's close by and kid friendly. The food is OK, I guess. It's greasy and much of is canned or frozen. The burgers are OK and my brother loves the chicken. We've always gotten decent to very good service. My biggest issue is that it just isn't a nice clean atmosphere that makes we want to eat there. When you walk in the smell of old grease is overwhelming. The old carpets are dingy and must contribute to the smell. I really wish they would spruce up the place, do a deep clean and revamp the menu with fresher items. This place could be great family/ sports bar addition to town.

Me, What's for lunch My buddy "Best Damn Chicken in the State". Me, Sure. He was right on! This chicken is awesome: crispy with out being too batter-ey. Super flavorful, cooked to perfection! The place is nothing to look at, but no matter, just go for the food and bring some Lipitor: this ain't health food.

Good chicken, sides are canned. 2 chicken lunches 1: 3 piece and 1: 4 piece baskets a large iced tea & the Worst Milk Shake ever. $27 Dining experience is not real good. Seems the staff is not very friendly. When we went to pay we had to use their card scanner they have setup. That works like an atm from their til. It is strange. It must be the .99 cent charge they get via the swipe. I say buy chicken to go, you can get better sides at a grocery store.

Mmmm, fried chicken! Hampton's is a small chain of sit-down, fried chicken restaurants. They have a "drive-in" part, but I don't believe they bring it to your car Sonic-style. The ambiance is plenty down-home: paper napkins on the table, fluorescent lights, enormous glasses of sweet tea. But the chicken SHINES. Moist and perfectly-fried, piping hot and well-seasoned. They'll give you just about any combination of pieces you want, and they feature your typical home cookin' sides: coleslaw, greens, mac and cheese, etc. The sides were good enough, but THE CHICKEN. I'm never going to KFC again. The prices are pretty darn cheap (~$10 for dinner). Like much in Deland, this place is cash only.

Hamptons still has the look of the old timey drive in restaurants. They still bring your food curbside but not with roller skates like sonic....The food is good and the service is friendly...I love their hamburgers, nice and juicy, very flavorful... Cash is perferred, but they do take debit cards but there is a $1.50 charge....Try it...You will like it...
