The sign says "This is where the locals come to eat" ... no wonder! The food is above average and the service the way a diner should be. The waitresses have personality and attitudes ... 'good' attitudes. When in Deland, and not looking to impress by decor, this is the place you'll want to go. BTW: The coffee is great too!

I eat here every weekend. Very friendly staff and good food. They always have my coffee cup ready when they see me.

Have ate here twice for breakfast, very pleased with how quick our meals came out and just the way we ordered. Nothing fancy, but consistent with decent prices.

Woah - HILLBILLIES! We drove here out of our way just for the experience of interacting with the "country folk". Yeah, the place was a bit greasy... but the food was decent and the people watching was outstanding.

I have eaten in both of Gram's locations and was less than impressed with food or service.

the positive reviews must be by employees. the worst food i've ever had in Florida. They always have an ad posted for cooks, because the ones they have suck

Stopped here for breakfast today after finding the restaurant reviews on Yelp. The place was almost full which was a good sign. We ordered from their extensive menu. The coffee was very good while we waited for our food...and waited...and waited. By the time our food came, there were probably eight people left in the restaurant. All that said, the food was outstanding. It was worth the wait. The French toast and omelet were superb and the portions were big. The prices were reasonable. I would recommend this place for a great breakfast, but only rated it four stars due to the long wait for the food and the place needs a little updating.

Stopped here during our trip to Florida. Wonderfully friendly staff and super quick service. Great comfort food at a really good price. Would definitely go back!

$10 steak and eggs was definitely the right price. 2 servers working the whole dining room so the service didn't knock my socks off but I never went with out anything the entire visit. The steak was a strip and was delicious. However, it was a bit grisly. But like I said , $10 steak and eggs was the right price. I will be back!

One of Volusia County's busy breakfast joints with three locations in the DeLand-Orange City area that are always buzzing and super busy. No matter the location though the service is fast and non-invasive and most of the time pretty decent. My favorite and most frequented Gram's would have to be the one on E. New York Ave. just past the downtown of DeLand. This specific location is graffitied with Garfield paraphernalia from coffee cups to semi-motivational messages from the cheshire cat. The food is amazingly simple and tasty with the slightest and invited amounts of grease. This is a country diner to the extreme. Beware if you are recovering from the night before because they have so many choices on the menu your brain may self-destruct. You are always safe with the omelets and the chili is truly some of the best around and the price is always right at about $6-$7 a person.

Gram's has not been reviewed in over a year, so I am writing to confirm their breakfast on NY Avenue is still delicious. They warm the syrup for the pancakes, and I discovered a wall outlet in the back corner for laptops. Best of all, a large drop-in table of locals was sharing stories. I had two eggs, two pancakes and coffee for $3.95. The pancakes were huge; the staff was friendly; and had they offered Wi-Fi, I might have stayed all day.

Have you ever woken up early on a Saturday morning and thought, " Man, I could do with a nice breakfast ?" Well, Gram's Kitchen is just that. They have so many options to choose from in their menu or just tell them how you want it or what you want (lunch and dinner too). They just might have it. This place has really great food with a small town feel. They are famous for their Biscuits and Gravy. The prices are great, the people are nice, and the dining room is tidy... just like Gram's Kitchen, lol! This morning I had the Grandma's Cream Cheese, Ham and Tomato Omelette, rye toast, grits and apple juice Wow, what a mix, right? But be careful, the helpings are enough for two.

Great place to catch breakfast early in the morning. The prices are great, and the service has always been top notch, and the food is consistently good. There's a reason they've been around so long.

Decided to try this place because the other breakfast place in town was closed. I wish we had just went home and made our own breakfast... it would have been better. The corned beef is from a can, their grits are tasteless and undercooked, and the pancakes are chewy. Omelet and French toast were edible. This place doesn't have much going for it other than it is cheap. Wouldn't ever consider going their again.

Don't think we'll be back. My bacon was burned, kid got pancakes that were uncooked in the middle. Waitress was nice, service time was just okay, we were hoping to find a place near the gym where we could get a decent breakfast at a good price, but this was a let down.

A few locations in the area. I have only had their breakfast and was never disappointed with the service, portions and price. Down home cooking...

First time eating here today with my mom. We were in the mood for some home cookin breakfast and man did we get some. We ordered blueberry pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, ham and French fries. The pancakes are HUGE with giant blueberries inside. They have a little patio out front if you'd enjoy eating outside. The service was great! Have very little to complain about. Small town diner with good food

My opinion of this place has changed, they have gotten a lot better. My issues in the past is the place always seemed dirty (i.e. old used, eclectic coffee cups, dusty stuffed animals as decor), but now it is better. Food is pretty good, with excellent Blueberry Pancakes and omelette's. Coffee is still terrible (sorry Gram, it just is) and no real butter. The service is friendly but sometimes inconsistent.
