We were intrigued by the very polarizing reviews on YELP. Either one star or five! We went on a Thursday night( last night) after seeing an ad for some great lobster specials for their 7 months anniversary. Very nice little place in a strip center. Very intimate and has a great big bar (all wood) with about 20 seats. About half the tables were full with diners during this early evening primarily having the lobster tail special. We sat at the bar where we had 2/1 drinks until 7pm and ordered meatballs and stuffed artichoke for appetizers. Both were tasty although I would have like more stuffing in my artichoke and thought the meatballs were a little small for the price. They were tasty and the portion for an appetizer was ok, it was just the $11.95 price. (There was actually a bar price special for $7, but we were charged full price which i didnt realize until we were in the car leaving. We then had the BOGO lobster roll bar special that we went for. They were very tasty and served with a big portion of shoestring fries. While the price was fine for two of them, I'm not sure the single price felt like a fair value. $22.95. I also would have liked to have some fresh coleslaw and a smaller plate of frozen fries to feel a little more authentic. Bartender was very nice and made sure to take a last 2/1 drink order right before 7pm. Most of the menu items seemed to be typical Italian fare and prices for a small strip center store front in cooper city felt high. We did see Vinny coming in and out iof the restaurant but he didn't stop to talk to us perhaps because we weren't regulars. We'll likely head back again on a Friday night in the near future to enjoy Happy Hour and some of the fresh fish and hope to have the 5 star experience. I probably would have given it 3 1/2 stars for this experience because of the price factor, I didn't have that option and wanted to give more than 3. Vinny I don't mind you charging me more than typical restaurants please just be sure the portion matches the price or give me super fresh home made items I can't get some where else!!

All I can say I was not impressed. The lobster was tasty but definitely not on the return list. Not sure what the other yelpers liked about this place, must be employees that wrote them, but they could not seem to make a martini correctly and the bartender had the balls to approach the table and tell us we were wrong. we showed the waitress how to make a lemon drop martini and the bartender still insisted she was correct. then she made one like we said but used salt instead of sugar. Again the bartender insisted she used sugar, but when waitress tasted it, guess what it was salt. Hey bartender find another job doing something else. This place is a throwback from the old Vinnie's off University drive in Davie. You definitely can find better quality places to spend your money. If you decide to try this place you are on your own, I warned you.

From my 9 year old....I did not like the restaurant but the food was really good. (He thought there were too many old people.) My wife and I were very happy. We will be going back.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this fantastic restaurant! We went there for dinner because we had tickets to the Hard Rock (less than 10 minutes away). Great Italian food, great service, nice ambiance! The owner Vinnie was there to talk to customers and make sure all the food was perfect. We started with appetizers - mussels in red sauce and shrimp cocktail - both wonderful, fresh and flavorful. Two of us had fish - one Francese and one Livornese - both spectacular, and our friends had eggplant rollatini and shrimp scampi. Everyone loved their dishes. This is a small restaurant so I strongly suggest making reservations beforehand. Will definitely be back!

Pretty amazing find, thank you Yelp! Started off sharing the Zuppa di Clams, DELISH! He ordered The Chicken Parm and a side salad, me, The Seafood A La Brandy and a lobster bisque, again DELISH! Love the family owned amazing dining & dishes, the ridiculously reasonable prices (yes folks, I'm including wine) and the friendliness and service, we will most certainly be coming back

First time customer. Was excited to try the place after reading the reviews, but was very disappointed and will not return. The service was TERRIBLE. We were a 6 top and got seated without menus. We sat for ten minutes without being greeted and finally waved down someone for menus. When we finally got our server, she was very rude and inattentive to us. We ordered wine and the glasses were filthy. The appetizers and food took a very long time to come out. It was impossible to get refills on our drinks as well. The employees/owners were drinking and talking to each other behind the bar. The stuffed mushroom appetizer came out cold. The lobster bisque was subpar, and the salmon was average. The side items were very small and the food was over priced. I really wanted to like the place because it is a family business and close to the house, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

We ate at Vinnies twice now Good news... excellent food , well prepared , very tasty . the soupa de pesche is fantastic. Their spaghetti sauce is true Italian. Bad news... you have to sit at these really dumb hi tops and it could run you easily $100 for dinner with tip . Not a week day after work restaurant but ok for special occasions like a birthday or anniversary . service was marginal

Went to Vinnies on. Wed. night for dinner with a group of friends. We started out with the happy hour drinks and appetizers, $5 each. Great deal and the house wines are very good. The dinners come with soup or salad . The lobster bisque that came with the dinner was terrific, and in a big bowl. I had the salad and it was very nice . We tried all different entrees. The crab cakes , chicken parm , chicken Francese , and shrimp fra diovlo . They were all delicious . Everything came with sides and we tried than all. Dessert was the most amazing tiramisu and cannoli s. Really, you have to save room for dessert. We had a wonderful dinner, the service was great and I recommend this restaurant to all. .

My husband and I just moved into Monterra and have been looking for some good local staples. We found it at Vinnie's. It is a little pricey, but our server told us the chef chooses his seafood fresh daily and bases the menu around whats fresh. Also, if you make it for happy hour they have great happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks. My husband and I shared the eggplant appetizer (delish) and for entrees shared the seafood lasagna and the duck, I would recommend either. Crowd was a pretty good mix. We actually met another couple that lived in Monterra while there. Look forward to going back.

I'm a vegetarian so I did not eat anything here, but my boyfriend ordered the Zuppa di pesce, said it was the best he's ever had. Large portions, they also give you bread with butter and fancy oils if you are into that. The restaurant is relatively small but has a huge bar that takes up half the space. The menu items are eclectic but pricey, and has some items that vary in price daily, so there are a lot of fresh seafood served. Not good for vegetarians. Also, it seems to be more of an older crowd, but we saw a few others under 30 like ourselves. Oh and they have a happy hour 3-7 where all drinks and certain appetizers are $5.

First of all, the other reviews are from employees some of which we saw tonight. Fake reviews totally annoy me. SUCH A SCAM!!! There are too many tables which makes it quite tight & people are constantly bumping into you. I ordered a lemon drop martini she gave me a shot of straight vodka. Of course I sent it back. The bartender came to our table to tell me I didn't know what was in a lemon drop and that what she gave me was correct. I pulled up the recipe online & showed it to the waitress. The next one came & I got salt around the rim even though I had just explained how to prepare it. Regarding that, the waitress was yelling to the bartender from our table to the bar about what to put in it. REALLY!? Yep! Then the bartender argued about the salt until another employee tried it & agreed that it was in fact salt. The food came out quickly, we ordered lobster bisque soup which tasted like baby food & looked like it too. The 1 1/2 lb lobster was good and the lobster tails with pasta in francaise which again was average at best. My suggestion...skip it! It won't be around for long. Although I'm sure the senior citizens crowd would disagree. I really don't understand how this guy has the following he does.

Wow! I'm in town for a surgery and decided to visit a restaurant that wasn't a chain. My mother wanted seafood and I was game. We read about Vinnie's on yelp and decided to pay a visit. It was AMAZING. The food was superb and the service was even better. Our waitress Michelle was awesome and gave us the history of the restaurant. She was so friendly! The food: The mozzarella caprese was to die for and the lobster was cooked perfectly. I only WISH there was a Vinnie's in my area in Texas!

I thought this place was great! The bartender Maddie was sweet she gave me the low down on the specials and happy hour has changed its not 241 as others posted it was $2 off which is fine. I had the lobster special how could I resist a lobster dinner for $12.95??? The bread & pesto I could die eating that!!! At first with such an older crowd I was worried about bland cruise ship food... Not the case go on in they don't bite it's a friendly locals place!

From reading the reviews and thinking of what lobster houses are generally like, what I had envisioned Vinnie's to be like proved entirely incorrect. I had sort of thought it would be casual chic in atmosphere, spacious with a somewhat elegant décor, but to me that proved not to be the case. Instead, it's somewhat of a little hole in the wall like place, nothing shabby but certainly nothing fancy, had a really loud crowded bar with customers wearing such horrid attire that one might make one mistakenly think they were flunk outs left over from a Walmart fashion model audition. On the good side, everyone seems cheery, friendly with the service staff professional, accommodating and attentive. As for the drinks, I found them good with their cocktails and wines having a generously healthy pour. For food I started with their Oysters Rockefeller, which I found to be rather good but a shocking departure from those I've had at Antoine's where the recipe originated or, for that matter, anywhere else. If they contained celery leaf, green onion, chervil or used any Crystal sauce, Pernod or Herbsaint, I didn't detect it. And, though of delicious quality, I can't think of where on earth they came up with the idea of having them covered with Mozzarella (Like really? Of all the cheeses to choose from, a Mozzarella?); but then maybe because Vinnie's is an Italian restaurant, an Italian interpretation. Besides a meal included salad, I was given some small bread rolls accompanied by two very good spreads which tasted fresh and were obviously in house creation, then for my entrée, their special of crab meat stuff flounder. The crab meat, as I had expected from what I knew the price of the dish to be was as expected somewhat on the lower order of the scale, certainly anything but lump, and in preparing the same with a thick amount of crab stuffing, rendered the fish somewhat overdone.

Homey atmosphere, and quick service. The italian food is amazing! The tiramisu had not a crumb left. We will definitely make the drive to eat here again! The staff is extremely accommodating.

My husband and I found ourselves driving around on Valentines Day with no reservations (stupid, I know). With help from yelpers- we found Vinnies and we were very happy we did. Once you pull up to the place you realize it's very small. Family owned, which I love. There is live music on Fridays (maybe Saturdays too, not sure). Everyone is friendly and informative. There is a full bar as well. Food is very good. Fresh seafood, tastefully seasoned, great soups.. No complaints! We have come back numerous times and have enjoyed every time. We even took my in laws and they also became fans!

Surprise Surprise.. located in a strip mall in Davie / Cooper City we were looking for a place to go after a round of golf last night and it was suggested to stop by Vinnies Lobster bar. Not really knowing what to expect although we were freshly dressed in nice shorts and polo shirts I could not help but feel slightly under dressed as we step into a complete time warp. A small narrow place with limited tables and some high tops in the back with a full long bar that runs the length of the establishment. Although at 7:30 there were plenty of empty tables the hostess indicated they were all full with reservations but we were welcome to eat at the bar if we wish. Off we went and immediately I saw some familiar places from around town as this crowd is definitely north of 45 closer to 60 years of age... Vincenzo the owner brought us out some Marinated Red onions, some wonderful cheese and olives to snack on while their fresh hot warm roles with both pesto sauce and butter were really fresh and tasty. Wine list is very and I mean very reasonable though limited and the two ladies behind the bar handled each and every one of our requests quickly and to the letter. All Entrees come with choice of Italian house Salad "EXCELLENT" with Olive oil and balsamic vinegar or choice of Soup - New England Clam Chowder - Manhatten or Lobster Bisque. Two salads and one exceptional Manhatten Clam soup and we were off and running. Entrees: Shrimp Fra Diablo over Linguini was rich flavorful and plentiful with tails cut off the shrimp - Thank God :)... in a very nice hearty spicy marinara. The House Special Manicotti was definitely home made with excellent marinara sauce as well. Third entree was Meat Lasagna which was also home made and I always liked a little sausage in my lasagna which this lacked but it was very good. NO deserts were tried but espresso was fresh and hot and quickly served to assist in the digestion. Live music was a BIG PLUS and not too loud you couldn't hold a conversation. Happy Hour Specials and Nightly dinner specials adorn the black board. All and all simply a really pleasant surprise in the most unlikely of placed. Definite REPEAT!

New England Clam Chowder, crab cakes, zupa de peschie all of it was EXCELLENT! Waitress Verna was great. One of the best meals we have had in a while. Very well priced. DONT let the storefront fool you. We really enjoyed this experience.

The Friday night entertainment is fabulous. I come for the eggplant cabonade. Older crowd. Very large portions. I'd consider sharing. I don't eat most of the menu items. What I did eat was very good. Make reservations. It gets packed..

I don't know how I ended up coming here for lunch except out of curiosity, after both my Plan A and Plan B spots panned out. So, I just thought I would have a look and do some recon on a possible romantic dinner with my Hubby. I have been here twice now and have had a $6.95 lunch special both times. I brought a friend today and she also had a lunch special. We were very happy with the food and liked the relaxing atmosphere. My first visit I had the meatball parm hoagie. It was shaped more like a meat oval, than meatball, but it was very tasty and had the consistency of a meatball. It was served very hot, which I appreciated because on that day the temperature outside plummeted just as I was going to lunch. I was cold, so I was leaning toward the soup, but decided on the sandwich. I think that was a good move, as that warmed me right up! The bread was good quality and was nicely toasted and really made the sandwich surpass my expectations. Today, I brought my friend, and she went with the Tomato Salad with Onions and Mozzarella. I can say it sure looked good, and she just about licked the plate while nodding in approval. I got the baby back ribs. They were good, not as good as the ones I get from Rob's, but still very good. I like having extra barbecue sauce and Vinnie's just serves the ribs as is. I didn't ask for extra, so maybe next time I will. Both times I chose fries as my side, which are great, but they also offer roasted potato as an option with the ribs or hoagie. The ribs also come with cole slaw. Actually so did the hoagie. For me an entree with two sides is a lot of food, but for $7, it's an excellent deal too hard to say no to. They didn't have the sides for my friend's salad, so if that's your thing, then keep that in mind. I am guessing that people don't realize this place is open for lunch. It does seem more upscale than a typical Davie lunch spot and except they don't have the white table cloths during lunch. Both times I have been here it has been very quiet. Their regular menu is pretty pricey so this probably doesn't pop into people's minds as for a typical lunch destination. As for dinner, they have a 12.95 Lobster Special Sun-Mon-Tues that comes with a salad and a vegetable. They have a couple different twin lobster deals as well that I may see if I can drag Hubby to try with me. Happy hour may be the time to do that as the drinks are 2 for 1. I am really glad I landed here for lunch. I can't wait to try their $7 Black Angus Cheeseburger lunch special, and my friend wants to try their Franks and Onions special. They also have a Eggplant Rollatini special that looks like it could be good.

From the outside this place looks like a normal joint. But when you walk in, you're immediately transformed into a beautiful interior. Service is great, food as well. Vinnie is present, which i believe is the owner and he cooks! Vinnie apparently has 45 years in the business, and it shows. Stacey was a very great waitress, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. From the soup to the dessert. This place is elegant so it will be perfect for a date.

We were first time customers on a Sunday. We sat for over 5 minutes before anyone came over with menus. We ordered the crab stuffed mushroom and calamari. Both very good. The two lobster tail special was a great deal. Unfortunately, the whole lobster special was awful. Over cooked and rubbery, should have sent it back. The salad that came with the lobster special was terrible. The lettuce was brown iceberg and same salad that comes in a bag. Very disappointing. New England clam chowder was fair to say the least. Flannigans is by far better. Not sure if we will go back way too many other places to try in Broward.

Great food, great atmosphere, live entertainment and dancing. One drawback is that it is small. There are only 4 tables for 2. So if you are a party of 2 you have 2 choices for a table; either sit in the middle of the bar area with people standing around you. I literally would've had an anxiety attack with all those people standing over me while eating! The other choice is the hallway, either in front of the kitchen or more towards the back, which was way too claustrophobic for me. So we ate in front of the kitchen! But the food was so good, the servers were so nice, I would still recommend it and still go back. We ordered the escargot, but instead of served in the shell in garlic butter, which is how I have always had them before, they were in a reddish-brown sauce with chopped mushrooms and tomatoes. They were amazing!! The clams casino, which I didn't really care for-they tasted too fishy for me. New England clam chowder, very good! And twin 1 pound lobsters. They were the best I have had in awhile. Although they were a little on the dry side-I asked the waitress about the preparation, she told me they were steamed. I think I'm used to having them boiled, which might account for the dryness. All in all a very good meal. Add 2 martinis and 2 glasses of wine, bill came in around $110 which is very reasonable for all the items that we ordered.

Could not be more impressed with This place. Jimmy is a great chef and this was the best meal I ate in Ft lauderdale. I had two lobster tails and the Boston chowder. I barely had enough room for dinner after their amazing bread and pesto. Really great food here. Good people too. Gets 5 stars in my book for sure.

Tried Vinnie's for the first time. It was amazing. The service was super friendly. I went with my wife and 3 year old. The atmosphere is not for kids but they do have a children's menu which was great. We ordered the lobster tails, crab cake, calamari, and clam chowder. Everything was absolutely amazingly delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Looking forward to going back!

Made a phone call prior to arrival, staff was friendly and very knowledgable about the menu and price over the phone. Lobster bisque had nice taste. Ordered the baby back ribs and twin lobs. Both meals were great. The tails were juicy and cooked just right. Hard to find a place that has decent cooks that know what they are doing...this place does it right. Not really into the loud music, unless you drink a lot and don't mind the noise. Great food, prices consistent with other places. I recommend anyone to try it out...we will be going back again, you can count on that.

I live in the area and saw this place and always wanted to go check it out, and I am glad I finally did. The food and the service was great. They had great music playing and they told me they have a singer on Friday nights. I will definitely be back!

This restaurant is in a strip mall so it does not look like much from outside. But inside is another world. It's cozy, lots of woods and looks high end. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. It was crowded on a Saturday night but we did not have to wait for a table. The lobster bisque was nothing memorable. Taste was ok but it had no lobster chunks and the consistency was reminiscent of baby food. The lamb chops were tasty but overlooked. Lobster...mmm....lobster. That is why I was really here and the lobster did not disappoint. You get a decent sized lobster for a reasonable price. The baked apple pie a la mode was also delicious. Come here to satisfy you lobster fix.

We had the Clan Chowder ok it was amazing came out hot and extremely flavorful didn't even need hot sauce. My man had squid and pasta with clams and calamari, wow is all he could say the sauce and entirety was great. I had stone crabs and they were meaty and the mustard sauce was great, finished with teramisu.. I will say we will be back this place was great. A definite must try.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
