Having a family dinner tonight at robs Every year the night before schools starts we take the family to celebrate the new school year. This is the fourth last nights dinner before school We were a party of 7 I had the b q beef dinner. Outstanding There were three orders of baby back"meat fall off the bones" ribs. A burger and two chicken dinners. I am happy to say everyone made all gone. I love there baked beans. We then headed to Baskin-Robins for desert. We will be back during the year and again next year before school starts.

My uncle recommended this place, so I decided to meet him for lunch the other day and he was right about Rob's. Super friendly staff and as soon as you walk in you feel like you're in an authentic BBQ restaurant in somewhere like Texas. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is delicious. I started with their salad bar which had a ton of options and I paired that with a turkey plate. I love BBQ so I couldn't have been happier that this place turned out as good as my uncle said it was. I'll definitely try to stop back in before I leave town.

3 stars for the food but the atmosphere is what makes all the difference! Be sure to come on the $10.99 full rack night because that's the best deal here. The food is your typical country comfort BBQ with just about everything you'd expect. The ribs are hit-and-miss- sometimes they are very, very fatty and dry at the same time- which you'd think would be difficult to do. If at all possible, try to see if you can ask for "good" ribs as opposed to the fatty gross ones they like to dish out randomly, and also ask that they don't come bone dry...if they do though, you can just drench them in their 4 different bbq sauces. The main thing that I like most here is their sweet baked potato and their salad bar has great variety. On some nights they have a balloon lady who is sweet but a little strange and gets offended if you ask her to make a reindeer lol. Not even close to being the best BBQ but it's good and you get a very decent amount of food for the price.

Good bbq, and cute atmosphere at Robs BBQ. Walking in greeted by the hostess, everyone working there says hello, friendly. Used to be Scrubys, it's now Rob Scruby's BBQ. The BBQ grill is the first thing you see, with countertop seating. Many wooden picnic tables around the restaurant, comfortable seating (and I think can fit up to 4 people a side). Every table has napkins and different bbq sauces (original, vinegar pepper, hot, sweet), hot sauce, the essentials at a bbq joint. The waitress was very friendly , got us drinks right away, offered help with the menu, and checked up on us frequently. I saw a balloon artist blowing up balloons and making art for the kids on a Saturday. I ordered a recommendation of the waitress a platter with baby back ribs, I chose the pulled pork, my husband got a platter as well and got the sliced beef with his baby back ribs. The platters come with choice of fries, sweet potato, potato, And coleslaw, And baked beans, And a slice of Texas toast. This is a good choice. Not much time and the food was in front of us. The baby back ribs were fall off the bone. The sauce is yummy I believe it's the Sweet BBQ sauce offered on the table. I found the ribs to taste like pork, not just tastyness, not the best I've had. The pulled pork could use some seasoning, it tasted steamed, not Smokey. The sides were good. The coleslaw is finely shredded cabbage, carrot and onion with mayo, it was tasty. The baked beans were really sweet, but good, and the toast not very garlicky and soft pillowy bread. The crinkle cut fries were good, I grabbed a bunch from my husband. The four stars it's for the really friendly and good service. My baby spilled over a water at the table and they cleaned it up with a smile. Everyone said bye to us as we left, it sounds odd, but that's rare now of days.

After driving by this restaurant a million times, I figured it was time to go. BEST DECISION EVER. The second I walked in I was greater by a very friendly woman and she handed another girl two menus to bring me to my table. While I was waiting for my +1, my server took my drink order. When she brought my drink back, she noticed I was waiting for one and would come back when they got here. When my +1 arrived, you had this pep in her step and she rushed back over to the table. Took our drink and app order, fried ocra. The ocra was tasty. It wasn't battered too much so you could still see the veggie in there and boy was it tasty. It was served with some ranch. This place has awesome specials. On Tuesday, a full rack of ribs, a side, slaw, baked beans and some Texas toast all for the low, low price of $10.99!!!!!!!! I got a sweet potato (yes, with cinnamon sugar) as my side, and broccoli for the other order on the table. I couldn't tell you the last time I had such awesome ribs. The meat literally fell.off.the.bone. I couldn't probably pulled all of the bones out and put it on a sandwich. The meal was definitely a success. I can't wait to go back. Some tips:: -Check the specials on their website, they have them all week so go on a day that suits your palate -Use the 10% coupon when you check in on yelp. -go hungry. We ended up taking a lot of leftovers home. -make sure you use the table sauces too. They had a sweet vinegar, sweet, Original and hot.

My boyfriend and I dinned on Monday night, when they had the $10.99 meal deal which consisted of a full rack of BBQ ribs, choice of potato, garlic toast, baked beans and coleslaw. We both ordered the meal deal. We started with the corn nuggets which are DELICIOUS. I'm not sure if the corn nuggets are fresh or frozen, so I could care less. The corn nuggets come with honey butter and cinnamon butter. The BBQ ribs literally had meat falling off the bone. They were flavored pretty good and were pretty meaty. For the potato, I ordered the baked potato which came with a side of butter and sour cream. The garlic toast is always good. The baked beans and coleslaw are always good as well. You can't beat $10.99 for that entire meal. I made sure to check into Yelp and the waitress was kind enough to apply the 10% discount to the bill even when we ordered from the meal deal. We've had other items on their menu such as: grilled chicken breast, chicken with the bone, beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken tenders.. Basically everything on their menu and everything's been great. And don't forget to order sweet drink as your drink of choice. It literally tastes like a cup of sugar.

We have been coming here for years, food is great, the best BBQ imo. Ribs are tender and taste great with the different sauces. This time, like many others, the service was OK. The restaurant is clean, and it is at a good location.

I give this place a thumbs up. My lunch buddy and I took an adventurous ride to get here, which I thankfully survived! We were lucky enough to come on $9.99 baby backs Monday, and I had my mind made up before I sat down. The deal comes with a small rack of baby back ribs and choice of potato along with coleslaw and baked beans. When I say small rack, I mean there were about 10 ribs, but they where tiny in comparison to other ribs I have had. However, they were tender and delicious. They have a few varieties of barbecue saw on the table to choose from. I am a sweet sauce lover, so I went for that. Nom nom nom! My friend went with the original, and she was pleased with her choice. Service was friendly and quick, which I appreciate during lunch hour. The place is pretty spacious, which is a big plus because there were a lot of people there and I didn't feel cramped at all. It was nice to have a chat with my friend, and be able to hear her, so the noise level just right. I also felt like we didn't have to whisper to avoid sharing our conversation with fellow diners. As I mentioned, the ribs were delicious. I was able to eat half of them, so I think the portions are just right even though the ribs aren't of the Flintstone variety. The fries were also very good. I am not normally a baked bean gal, but the beans at Rob's were addictive. No complaints on the coleslaw either. My friend also ordered the same thing as I did, but she got the jalapeno poppers as an appetizer. I had one and it was tasty with a bit of a kick at the end there. I try to stay away from appetizers during lunch because I need the protein calories, but on my more carefree days, I would go for those. They were yummy! After I had enough ribs, I took my friend's lead and put some of barbecue sauce on the fries...oh man. I am glad I didn't try that first. I may not have had enough room for the ribs. The sauce of the fries was scrumptious!! Fortunately, I was too full to get carried away and I packed up my leftovers for Hubby. There was still plenty of food for him to enjoy, which he appreciated because he LOVES barbecue. I will definitely be back to Rob's The $9.99 baby backs special is on Monday and Tuesday, and that is a great deal.

We had a taste for BBQ and found this place of course on yelp. Very large restaurant with mainly large booths in the dining area. It's a very warm southern feel to the décor. There are pictures of kids, looks like the owners family possibly, very cute. The minute we walked in the smell was wonderful. The friendly hostess took us to our table and a very nice young guy came over asap to take our drink order. I glazed over the menu quickly and saw they offer sweet tea. Good old fashioned sweet tea that is not made out of a machine is very hard to find in South Florida. The sweet tea was delicious. The menu is quite large consisting of ribs (several different kinds) pulled or sliced pork, chicken, etc... I chose the pulled pork and hubby got the full slab of baby back ribs. They also have a salad bar for $2.99 extra with a meal which I got. The salad bar was fairly large with some good toppings. Some of the salads were dried out and did not look very good but after I made my salad I was quite happy with it. My pulled pork platter came with cole slaw, baked beans and garlic bread. The cole slaw was just ok. The baked beans were delicious. I make mine just like them, it's a dark rich sauce with pork, beans, and plenty of brown sugar. My pork was a bit on the dry side, but excellent smoky flavor and on the table they have three or four different bbq sauces. Once I mixed two sauces together and dipped my pulled pork in it, it was delicious. No complaints the pork had great flavor and a good sized portion. Hubby enjoyed his ribs very much as well. Great family run restaurant, very good prices, and service was stellar. Our server never stopped checking on us, refilling our drinks, and he was super friendly. I look forward to coming here more often for some great BBQ in a very fun friendly atmosphere. Wonderful for groups and kids as well.

With a name like Rob's Family BBQ, and driving thru all the Broward subdivisions to get there, I really thought it was served from a trailer in someone's yard or that I would stumble into an uye. Rest assured it's a restaurant, a pretty good bbq restaurant! The base of any good q joint is it's sauces, and Robs doesn't disappoint. Their "original" sauce is subtly sweeter than it's "sweet sauce" and I liked both. The "hot" one had just a little less kick than the buffalo sauce on my chicken tenders; the vinegar sauce was the only one I didn't really care for. Food wise, make sure to start with the buffalo chicken tenders! Tender white meat with a spicy sauce, I was grateful for the timely soda refills. Next up was the lunch sized smoked chicken platter with fries. Tasty and meaty, they could have gone a little smokier on the flavor but the taste was still good and the sauces closed the deal. Fries were also nice and crispy. What bumps it to 4 stars was the pleasant service, from my hostess who got me a spot close to the TV (Argentina world cup game) to my waiter who kept the plates in sequence and checked that my food was to my liking. Definitely worth the drive!

This down home Southern style Bar-B-Que joint has all the hallmarks of a Carolinas style eatery. Owned by Rob and Mary Scruby my mouth started watering as soon as I walked in as the smoky aroma was palpable. The cooking chicken and pork are visible strategically displayed in the front and surrounded by a brick facade. I ordered the baby back ribs and pulled pork combo with sweet potato, slaw and baked bean sides. My server was prompt and friendly moving quickly between tables. After I ordered, my food arrived within 10 minutes. I arrived at 11:45 for lunch and the patrons began to file steadily in as noon approached. I am a "cue" aficionado so my expectations are high. The spareribs and coleslaw met my standards but the pulled pork was a bit dry. The baked beans were tasty and not over sweetened. All in all a place I would return to for a second pass.

When we don't feel like pulling out our smoker and just want to pick up dinner in our neighborhood we go to Rob's Family BBQ. We like the food - the ribs have very soft, flavorful meat; the corn poppers are addictive; and the amount of food for the price is ridiculous. (We asked why the name changed on the building signs and were told that Rob Scruby and the investors parted company and since they are running the first store to open THEY had rights to HIS name - dontcha love it? So instead of paying them to use his own name he changed the name of his business.) I read a few reviews where people complained the meals got smaller and all I have to say is if people eat everything served on the plate (which we've not yet been able to do no matter how hungry we are when we start) and they still want more maybe it's them! Could you remain hungry after eating baked beans, cole slaw, a baked or sweet potato, Texas toast, and a full rack of baby back ribs? That feeds me twice for the $10 price! (It's their daily special on Mondays.) We've enjoyed the chicken, spare ribs, brisket, and pulled pork but keep circling back to their baby back ribs. They pack the ribs dry so if you want to add sauce you can - for me I like it just as is - the meat is juicy and I need no sweet glaze. Hubby likes the sauce - is it for taste or the feeling of sauce on his face - who's to say? I don't recommend their corn on the cob because it was waterlogged both times I ordered it (I tried a second time in case it was a freak thing but apparently it's just how they do it). My one suggestion to them about packing take-out orders is they are WAY too generous with the amount of butter and sauces in the bag. Weeks after our last visit, I STILL have cinnamon-sugar butter and barbeque sauce packs. I used the plain butter and honey-butter packs for weeks. Not that they charge a lot, but they are throwing away their profits. I plan on telling them to cut back on the amount they pack the next time we go - which, as I write this, may just be tonight! (Yes, we DID wind up ordering a to-go order - the pics are from this order, and the beef ribs taste like prime rib and are not as smoky tasting as the baby backs.)

Not going to write a letter home about the bbq, and I have eaten here a bunch so the review is overdo. I am pretty kind on yelp, but this place is legit. They have so many seats, i've never waited to be served. Walk in and you get a table. I like that, The food is actually pretty good ,the sweet corn nuggets have some great butter dippy sauces. Sweet tea is perfectly mixed. Ribs are fall off the bone, and very affordable. Missouri native here so my bbq standard is high, but this place does the trick for my local craving.

Ducked in to recon the joint and try the grub. Good stuff, here's why: * I got there at a "tweener" time (345p) so no crowd, SCORE! * $9.99 Full Baby Back Rib Platter with spud, slaw shooter, and baked bean shooter plus a slice of Davie Toast. SCORE! * Great service, she took my lemonade order before I sat down. Big, bright, roomy, right off I-595 in a free-standing building in a busy shopping complex. Popular with the blue-hair set, so be advised. Formerly Scruby's BBQ. Good stuff. Cabeza OUT!

My sons spareribs were dead like leather; all he ate was bread. I asked for new ones, and guy under cooked ones. Not happy. Overall very little smoke flavor on the food here. Sliced Bbq pork was great however

Hands down best baby back ribs I have ever had. When you talk about "fall off the bone" this place gives you just that. I've been coming here for YEARS. Not sure why it changed from scrubys to robs but trust me, it's the same good ole recipes. Monday's and Tuesday's they have deals on full rack of ribs.. even for take out. For 10.99 you get a full rack of ribs with coleslaw a potato and bbq beans!!! The bbq sauce is good, not too sweet... Just right. The bbq chicken and ribs both have that smokey flavor. Once in a blue moon you will get a semi burnt/crispy order but honestly it doesn't even bother me. Truthfully... There is nothing better than picking off a rib from the rest of the cluster, bringing it towards your mouth, and watching as the hunk of meat falls off the bone and onto your plate. SO GOOD. I probably order from here once every other week. I can't even speak on the service because I rarely dine in. If you haven't tried it yet, you must!

Robs Family BBQ was a surprising hit! We know NC BBQ inside and out as a native. Rob's pulled pork was amazing. Had them cater our 4th of July event. Blew through food so fast, we called and asked if there was any way they could bring more if they were out and about. They happily obliged! Thanks for creating a great backyard BBQ for us!

  • David B.

We have been to Rob's about 4 times in the past few months. The ribs were pretty good in our first visits. Our last visit last week was a big disappointment: 1. Waitress wasn't paying attention and serves us the wrong kind of ribs. 2. The coffee I ordered was served cold. 3. The ribs tasted off like they were reheated from the previous day. 4. The French fries were mushy but hot as they are heated from the frozen. 5. The counter tops over the table are all sticky. I wonder when the last time they were wiped clean. So we are on the lookout for a better place.

I have eaten at this restaurant three times. The first time, it was called Scruby's. I had a surprising problem with the food today. I usually don't eat baby backs, because spare ribs are meatier and tastier, but I decided to try the Monday baby back special because the price was good. The ribs came with beans, cole slaw, garlic toast, and fries. You can also get a baked potato or sweet potato. The ribs were very tender, but there was no rub on them. In fact, I couldn't really taste any seasoning to speak of. I had to put salt on them. And I don't think they were smoked. Smoked meat turns pink; this is called a "smoke ring." These ribs didn't have it, and they have no smoke flavor. I think they were baked in an oven. It seemed like they just dumped them in a pan and baked them. You can't put "BBQ" on your sign and then sell people baked meat. The beans weren't that great. When I finished, there was a tablespoon of very sweet sauce in the bottom of the cup. They were too sweet, and they needed salt. The fries were frozen. There is no excuse for frozen fries. The tea was okay, the service was good, and the place seems clean. They need to step up their food game, though. A week or two ago, I had a pulled pork sandwich with macaroni and cheese. The pulled pork is very good. The mac and cheese needs salt, and the cheese is not right. It seems grainy, as if it were made from some kind of reconstituted cheese powder.

Catered for a group of 20 tonight! These folks are a class act! Food was amazing! Went with party pack "C" with a few tweaks and it was more than enough! Delivered and set up with all the bells and whistles! Highly recommend them! Thanks guys!

I have never had worse food regardless of cuisine or style. I have never been to this place before and thought I would give it a try. Slow, inattentive service, bone dry cold brisket and some other stuff not worth mentioning because it was inedible and looked like the day before. I question the kitchen's understanding and practice regarding health department mandated temperatures and hold times. I couldn't eat it. It just seemed like a bunch of locals and out of school kids working that just did not seem to give a shit. In my opinion there was no one there worth expressing an opinion too re: my uneaten "meal". I don't think my experience was unique. I don't know this place or the owners. There is no bias whatsoever in this report. I just wanted human food. I did not get it. I ended up with a far more satisfying pack of Twizzlers from the gas station on the way back to work. I would not recommend this place to anyone I cared about. Who ever is responsible for this dump should be ashamed.

Have been going here on a regular basis for many years...mostly take-out. Have never had a bad meal until tonight. Three of us for the low carb plate with pork, beef and chicken. The chicken was inedible. We told the server who didn't respond or do anything. However, I told the owner, Rob, on the way out what our issue was. I simply wanted to tell him because I thought he should know. I didn't expect anything in return. He was so kind and responsive and offered to replace all of our meals. This was excellent customer service and I will definitely be back because of this.

How disappointing. This was my first trip since the place changed from Scruby's. I called and ordered the Wednesday special, the Wagon, which was listed on the web site for $9.99. The gal who answered the phone told me that "we only have baby back ribs tonight. Is that ok?" I said yes. When I picked it up, she told me the cost was a total of $14 .83. I asked why. She said there was a $3 charge for the baby backs. I said that she never told me about any up charge.....and why should I have to pay if they didn't have any regular ribs. She indicated they were only doing the special with baby backs tonight. Rip off...night before Thanksgiving.... The food left a lot to be desired. The ribs weren't even a half portion and didn't look like they had been bbq'd. They looked pale and like they had been baked. Chicken had to be cooked..it was red - not even pink! You needed a magnifying glass to find the bbq'd pork. Sides were ok. Never again. If I could give less than one star I would.

I usually love this place but was disappointed on my most recent visit. I took a friend for their "Wagon" special on Wednesday. The first thing I noticed was that the price went up since my last visit. The food came out cold and old like it had been sitting around. I actually had to return the fries and ask for fresh ones because they were cold and stale. Sad because my other visits were much better and I am hoping this is not a downward trend. Nice salad bar that you can add to any meal for a reasonable price. I would definitely try it again but wouldn't order any of the specials after this experience. Nice selection of appetizers on the menu as well.

This is our go-to place for BBQ in Davie. Formerly known as Scruby's, the owner told us one day that her family parted ways with the other Scruby's investors. They kept the name and Rob and his family took the recipes. I think Rob won. The ribs are great and for a full rack for $9.99 on Mondays, with all the fixings, it's also a steal. The specialty platters come with corn, garlic bread, fries (ask for them well done if you like them crispy!), delicious baked beans and colesaw. These people are so friendly and I've never had a reason to complain about service. When we get takeout, my boyfriend gets all sorts of demanding about extra sauces and they never fuss! Oh yeah, they have a variety of sauces to go on your grub. Our favorite is the spicy. I hope one day they do a Korean BBQ version. They also have a salad bar for a few bucks extra if you order in. The place is homey with picnic table style seating. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken because it tends to be dry but the pulled pork is also excellent. Try the corn nuggets as an appetizer. Delicious!

I have been coming to Scruby's for many years, now it is Rob's says same owner on sign out front. Understand we came at a kind of off time, about 430 in the afternoon, ordered my favorite the spare ribs. Well, have to be honest they were dry, assume that they were left over from lunch or something, probably the worst I have ever had here. That said, they did have nice smokey flavor, the place smells incredible. I will be back hopefully that was just an anomaly due to time frame, I sure hope so I have been a huge fan of this place forever!

Been to Scruby's despite the unappealing name a couple of times. Considering that this place is in hickville (Davie) I would have thought that the BBQ would be better. Sure it beats a chain like Sonny's, but just barely. I had the Baby Back Ribs & BBQ chicken platter. The ribs are certainly pretty good, but the chicken was very tiny and dry as Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller. Also I could not sub out the sides of baked beans and cole slaw which was pretty lame. By comparison Tom Jenkins has a baby back and chicken combo for less money, better quality, bigger quantity, and you can choose your two sides.... The salad bar here is actually surprisingly good, they have fresh greens, a wide variety of veggies, egg, ham, bacon, potato salad, and bean salad in addition to some desserts. I've had the low carb meal which comes with the salad bar and sadly the salad was much better than the sliced meat and chicken breast. Also although our server was very nice, she was a little bit nosy - even interjecting herself into our conversation several times. Overall it's just OK. I'd definitely return but just for the baby backs....

This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat with my family. Rob's Family BBQ has really great baby back ribs, even my kids love them. It's a laid back atmosphere, we don't have to get dressed up and you always know you are going to get a good meal.

Stay away! 2 of us order the sliced pork, sliced beef, chicken breast with salad bar. Walk up to salad bar and start to put the mixed greens on plate and plate has brown liquid all over it from the all the rotten salad in the container. The rest of the salad bar was no big deal. Ok let's go back to table and switch order to ribs. One of us stick with the sliced pork dinner............big mistake. 3 tiny slices of overcooked pork, 3 smaller pieces of dried out beef and a small piece of chicken that was like wood. A side of beans in a small container that had a 3 spoon serving(you call that a side?). The other person in our party ordered ribs that were just horrible, slimey and actually tasted bad. All 3 of us felt the nausea as we are leaving the place and felt sick the rest of the night. Sometimes, maybe one person eats something that does not sit right with them, but we were 3 for 3 this night. Save yourself and your money!

Precursor: I am not a BBQ lover. However, Scruby's was already down a few stars before I even got to the food. I haven't been here in at least a year, but last night my sister suggested that since all the men in our fam were out of town, we do a girls night. And of course in my sister's book, nothing says "ladies night" like baby back ribs and baked beans. We ended up at Scruby's after seeing the Monday and Tuesday night special of $9.99 for a full rack. They have a different special every night of the week and all of them seem to be a pretty good deal. As is the way of the world though, you get what you pay for. So digressing, before we got to the food, I was already off-put by the looks of the salad bar. We were seated right next to it, and so were given prime real estate for witnessing the lack of attention given to the line up. There was food all of the place and the whole thing looked disgusting, nothing was refilled or replaced during the entirety of our meal, and there were flies galore. Not to mention that there were these bright lights and although I didn't go test anything out first hand, nothing looked like it was being kept cold. Needless to say, we didn't go for salad. My mom and my sister both ordered the rack of ribs and I ordered the chicken breast sandwich. My sandwich didn't include any sides with it and fries had to be ordered a la carte for $.99. Ok yea, its a buck and nothing to quibble over, but I'd rather you just throw a side in there and raise the price of the dish a dollar for the sake of my feelings! Look, it is bikini season and everyday is a struggle and a battle between eating healthy and satisfying my inner fatty. By skipping my workout and going out to eat, I'm already doing bad, Y U gotta make it that much harder for me by now actually giving me the option of having fries?! Just give me the damn fries so I don't have to feel like it was my decision! Help me out here, Scrubys! Well, I guess they heard my inner guilt because when the food arrived, my $.99 serving of fries was quite minimal. And my chicken sandwich was definitely no frills- no lettuce, no tomato, no nothing, just chicken and a bun. The texture of the chicken was less than desirable too; a little chewy/spongy and seemed low quality. The ribs on the other hand came with slaw, beans, Texas toast and your choice of fries, baked or sweet potato or broccoli. My mom and sister both seemed to enjoy their ribs, they commented that it was good -definitely not a contender for the #1 spot, however a bitchin deal and tasty enough. The waitress failed to bring a bowl for the rib bones as well as the chocolate milk that was supposed to accompany my niece's kid's meal. Neither a big offense, but enough to agitate. One positive is the promptness of the service. We were seated right away, quickly waited on, and the food came out in no time. Again, out of all the food genres, BBQ is way down on my list which perhaps makes me not the best judge. I do know good food when I eat it though, and I can personally recommend a safe distance from Scruby's salad bar and a deep consideration in ordering something other than chicken.

We came to this place looking for amazing bbq and honestly they didn't disappoint. We all had the tail gate special ( chicken, ribs, cole slaw, delicious baked beans, corn on the cob and a garlic bread) for 1 for less than 12.00 bucks with a drink! We also had the corn nuggets! The chicken was a bit dry but the baby rack ribs were superb! The staff is friendly! Our server's name was Larry and bless his heart because he had a lot of patience for our table! The brownie a la mode was AMAZING! I will definitely make a stop here again! :) Amazing little place!

We've been eating @ Scruby's forever, both at this location & the Pines location. I would say their quality has diminished over the years. Due to this we only go once or twice a year. The reason we even bother with a couple of times a year is because the food comes quick and the employees are always pleasant. The food isn't fancy but you go get a lot for a small price. I think it comes quick because they have it all sitting and ready to go. Due to this the food tends to be a little on the dry side for my taste. The Davie location has a nice salad bar - all the usual ingredients (cucumber, tomato, carrots, etc) PLUS: 3 kinds of cheeses (feta, Parmesan & a cheddar), 2 different types of lettuce (including a spring mix), craisins, broccoli, a couple of salads (macaroni & bean) and a whole lot more. There are also ample dressing choices. Oh and don't forget the chocolate pudding! Bottom line: If you're in the mood for BBQ and want something casual, quick & easy, Scruby's will satisfy.

Not bad. Service was on the slow and inattentive side. Food good flavor just not very big meat portions. Would say just an average place.

I cannot say anything bad about this place. They have been nothing but kind and welcoming to me and my friends. I love the food and if there is anything I would change it is the fact that the baked beans and cole slaw are just a smidge too sweet. Besides that, I love the grilled chicken breast plate. I get it almost every time. There ribs are amazing and they literally sell nearly 1000 racks per day. Whether it is through catering or in the restaurant they have exceeded my expectations and everyone else's. You will not find a person in this world that has any complaint about this place. They make you feel like you are part of the family. They had to change there name which was there family's name because of some greedy investment group that would not give the name up after parting ways with the family. Whether it is Rob's BBQ or Scrubys, we will always love the food, staff and homey feeling that it brings.

Pretty decent place to satisfy your BBQ cravings. I ordered a full rack of ribs with french fries and baked beans. The ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. The beans were really good so I definitely recommend that. The french fries could use some work. Will be back for more.

When visiting Southern Florida this place is a must. BBq sauce is Great! They have the lagest wood Smoke pit right in front of your face to see this aint some boiled meat with sauce place. Sweet tea was great, salad bar was clean and fresh produce.

Affordable and family friendly BBQ restaurant. Renamed Rob's but same owners. On Saturdays there's a really excellent balloon lady who circulates among the tables (don't forget cash to tip!). Can't best the Saturday special, the tailgate, for the price.

Great food, friendly service at Rob's BBQ, and the owners, Rob and Mary, always make us feel very welcome! Love the spare ribs, baby backs, beef brisket, and their sauces are the best. Fresh salad bar with a large variety of veggies and salads. Family-friendly restaurant run by friendly Christian couple. We have been satisfied customers since they opened their previously owned Scruby's restaurant in Pines. We've moved from Broward County and couldn't take our favorite BBQ with us but know we can count on Rob's for delicious BBQ every time we visit.

Pretty good BBQ. We eat here at least once a month, and have never had a bad dining experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We were just here last night and I had the pulled pork dinner plate, and my husband had a burger. Both of us were very happy with our meals, and even my sons chicken tenders were delicious. My only complaint is that my sweet tea(which is usually great)was not very sweet at all, and was kind of weak. Could have just been a bad batch *shrug*.

I have been here many times. i read some of the reviews and was suprised with some of the comments. I would suggest you order the pork, beef, rib meal. For about 15 bucks you get a big portion(enough to split between two) and you are able to sample their specialties. From the bark on the outside of the cut portion you can tell they know what they are doing. I really enjoy it, and think its a great deal. As far as "bleacher" seating? I am not sure what the previous reviewer is talking about. Picnic style tables are more what I think of. And when eating ribs I don't want table clothes and linen napkins, ok....I think the interior is fine and I love the extra roll of paper towels on the table; you will need them if you get ribs.

This is one of the worst BBQ places around. Even a chain like Sonny's blows it out of the water. Pork was dried out, sweet tea tasted fake and the service was worse. Sonny's is cheaper, has better food and great and quick service. Will not be going again, and I advise you to take your business elsewhere.

We eat at Scrubby's when we want good BBQ. We almost always order "The Wagon", a delicious family feast for four including BBQ chicken, St. Louis-style ribs, generous portion of sliced BBQ pork, family-sized sides of baked beans and coleslaw, four baked potatoes, and four pieces of bread. The wait time is low and the place smells amazing while you await for your order to arrive. Great price and good food, fun place!

When Rob & Mary were in the front of the house this Scruby's was much better... Sadly it isn't as good as it used to be. The service is spotty and no one can decide if they want the servers to take the checks or go to the cashier. The BBQ is ok, but not great and hot & yummy like it used to be... Bring back the love! This place can blow doors on most BBQ places! I want my Scruby's back!!! :-)

This is some of the best bar-b-q I have ever tasted. You seriously can't go wrong. They have these corn nuggets with brown sugar butter that are AMAZING. The pulled pork sandwich is what I always get and I of course drown it in the amazing sauces they have. They always keep I think it's 4 on the table. Definitely try them all to see which one you prefer.

Scruby's ribs are pretty good. No, not the best in the Miami-Ft- Lauderdale area, but better than most of the competition. And prices for the ribs are INSANELY low. Be sure to check out the specials, which vary according to the day of the week. Fries are pretty bad. And the garlic bread I tried was some of the worst I've ever had (I like the smell of garlic and garlic bread, but this stuff just smelled off and really stunk up the car).

I took the family there. I had a coupon for kids eat free on Tuesday. They told me they are not accepting the coupons anymore. This made the meal quite expensive for we have 4 children. The ribs were pretty good and the steak had good flavor but was laced with much gristle. It made chewing quite and adventure. I agree with Edward about the sliced pork and beef on my wife's plate. How do you really know what it is. I also thought they are starting to skimp on the portions since I've been going there for many years. Did the plates shrink? The best part is the sauces. They have one for everyone's taste. I don't know if I will return in the near future.

I came from out of town and this place is near my folks. Your mouth starts to water as you enter the restaurant from the smell of bbq. I ordered the ribs and the pulled beef/pork lunch specials. The ribs were small in size but did fall off the bone. The pulled beff/pork came in a small small soup container and was not bad. I wish the menu had a larger selection of BBQ itmes, cause I would have ordered more at the time. It is very limited but still worth going for lunch. I did take out and the lady behind the counter was very nice.

Rob and Mary Scruby are THE BEST! Poster children for hard work and all that's right with America! It's a crying shame that they were screwed out if the right to use their own name on their own restaurant when they split from their previous business partners! Be advised that Rob & Mary only any longer own the location on SR 84 in Davie and that the original Pembroke Pines location is now owned by the people who won't allow them to use their own last name on their Dave location. It is for that reason that we will NEVER go back to the Pembroke Pines location. The food is ALWAYS great. They cater. The beans are the best ever! The ribs are amazing! Their prices are very good for the quality and quantity of food you are served! Please Note* THIS 5 STAR RATING PERTAINS ONLY TO THE DAVIE SR 84 LOCATION.

Great lunch atmosphere. Ordered the brisket with baked beans and fries. The brisket was fatty (like its supposed to be), but just a little dry. It had a good crust to it, but I didn't see, or taste, any smoke ring. The BBQ baked beans were great and the, fries, of course, were fries. The BBQ sauces were ok with the exception of the vinegar pepper sauce. That sauce was fantastic! I tried to buy some, but it wasn't bottled. It is sold in pint and quart containers. I have to fly home, so that wouldn't work. Great lunch spot!

Wow... Wow... Wow... Out of the blue I decided to surprise my husband with some yummy lunch and was undecided so I came on yelp! And came across this place! Awesome ribs and meaty!! This is NOT like one of those places that sells skinny bone ribs!! Def will recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat fall off the bone meat ribs with a lot of meat!! And the bbq sauce is unbelievable!! Best place I've eaten in a while! I can't stop thinking about how good those ribs where! Yum! Also pricing was awesome with the specials they have on Monday and Tuesday!!

We kind of found this place by accident. Our original plan was to visit a microbrewery pub near by, but that place does not open for lunch and does not open until 4pm. So we had to go on Yelp! and see if there are any restaurants near by. Luckily we found this place just right across the street. I would not say this is a hole-in-the-wall kind of bbq place, but the decor did not impress us very much. But, that doesnt really matter to me anyway as long as they serve good food. I think I ordered the lunch brisket special, it tasted okay but it was not anything special that knocked my socks off. And for the same reason I forgot what my wife ordered. The meat lacked a little flavor but their in-house bbq sauce was not too bad. All in all the food was decent and the services was not too bad. Perhaps we will be back again when we're in the neighborhood.

We decided to check out this place because it's near our house and we always see it on the way home so why not. We walked in and were seated right away. The place looks very country and exactly what I expected of a BBQ place. We were seated in a booth/picnic table... I guess they have picnic tables placed inside normal booths locations... I have to say this was just strange to me but maybe it just goes with the theme. Our waitress was nice and told us the specials for the day after a little while we checked out the menu and ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with the chips and my fiancé got the Scruby's Deluxe Combo with coleslaw and beans. We got our food shortly after and my sandwich was really tasty especially with the Honey BBQ they have, but my chips were not good. They tasted completely stale and I now know that I should always go with fries or Mac & cheese in the future. My fiancé's meal was huge but he enjoyed every bite and said everything was delicious. I tried his coleslaw and it was quite tasty but the beans were smothered in the thick sauce and it was just too much to the point that I couldn't even eat it. We have visited other BBQ places in the area and to him this one is the best one so we will probably be back soon.

Okay, this is the last restaurant before my neighborhood so I have eaten there for years. It started going down hill years ago. The BBQ is always luke warm. Ordered the Wagon Wheel special: two ribs, quarter chicken, sliced meat, corn, beans, fries, cole slaw, and garlic toast. It's a lot of food and looks like a lot because they pile the fries all over it. I know they say if the meat falls off the bone it isn't good because it means they boiled the ribs first, Well, it didn't fall off, it was so tough I think I left a tooth in it. The meat was bland and dry. The chicken was bland and dry. Second time I've ordered this special and the second time it came out this way (didn't want to bomb them out because of one bad experience). Even the fries tasted like they weren't cooked enough, centers tasted like raw potato. Looks like I'm just going to wait until the weekend and go to the BBQ at the Flamingo Road Nursery. Food was good, real good, hot, tender, moist, best Brisket ever. Just they're only open on the weekends.

Fantastic BBQ! The best around if you ask me. I could is a little less of the "honey" "baby" "sweetie" I hear from one waitress/hostess every time I walk in the door. I find it irritating and condescending. Otherwise I love the place.

Hubby and I were in the mood for ribs. When they were placed in front of us we both dug in. I was almost done when I noticed hubby was not eating . I asked what the problem was and he said the baby backs were fatty. We called the waitress over and she volunteered to put up another rack. Hubby had lost his appetite, thanked her and said no. He just wanted not to be charged for food he did not eat. a few minutes later the owner came over and repeated the offer. Hubby told him he had lost his appetite and just wanted not to be charged as all he had eaten was 3-4 ribs of the whole rack The owner said no way he could do that and if my husband didn't like the ribs, we should leave and go eat elsewhere.First time we have ever been asked to leave a restaurant. Shame on the owner. Our whole family including in-laws and children hve been coming here for years. Since he doesn't want our business, he will not se us again. I recommend everyone look elsewhere, especially scrubys on university which has the exact same ribs and knows how to treat customers.

Food quality is pretty good and consistent. They have a few tables and lots of booths, and the booths are the most uncomfortable that I have ever b sat in. They are really torture devices. They really aren't booths at all, but picnic tables placed in narrow stalls that don't have a flat wall. The top edge will hit you on the top of the back. Okay for lunch n when it is not crowded. I

This used to be Scruby's, and they just changed the name, but it has the same owners. One of the best barbecues around, (2nd from Tom Jenkins in east Fort Lauderdale). It's located in Davie, so it has a very country feel to it, and they're always playing country music, which I absolutely hate. But, normally, I get the chicken and baby-back ribs. Everything is very tasty and fresh and you get alot of food. The only down-side is that the waitresses and waiters are a little bit inattentive and they seem to forget about you easily, although the food seems to come out very very fast, even with a full house. Their sauces are great, too. I've only had the original and the sweet sauces and both are tasty, but I prefer the sweet sauce. Over-all, I've been back here a few times already and will definitely continue to come.

Not sure what happened here, but service no longer exists and food has dropped way off. Walked in and gal greeting didn't say a thing and was generally unhappy we came in. Same with our waiter. Kids meal was a disaster. Frozen French fries, tasteless mac and cheese, corn was more water than corn. Not happy I don't have a local BBQ place to depend on. Meats still decent. $45 for two adults and a child?? That's just food.. No alcohol.

This place USED to be really good-not anymore. Had ribs last week, they were tough and the portions have shrunk greatly. We had baby back rib dinner and were still hungry afterward as the portions were so small. It's sad to see what happened to this place - they used to be good. Look elsewhere for BBQ in Davie

  • B E.

Prices are good, but otherwise unimpressed. Service was a little slow and a bit persnickity, pulled pork was too salty, sweet potato was overly mushy, the premade cinnamon butter was very odd, and the garlic bread was probably better the first day. Cole alae and salad bar were both fine. Pass this one by...

    (2)
  • Fatty D.

The only reason to give this place more than 1 star is that when it was said and done, the taste of the food was ok. The problem is, the portions were so small that we all came away hungry. I had the pork dinner, the amount served was for a child. The pork was moist, tender but easily for an adult, double the portion would be needed. The sweet potato was the size of my palm. The Corn things ordered for an appetizer was greasy. Lips had the Turkey dinner. Come on we are talking about one of the cheapest food to serve. When the guy called a waiter brought over the turkey, there was a SMALL amount on a plate. Sides of Baked beans was served in one of those plastic cups. Same as the Cole slaw. The cost isnt much, I'd rather see them charge an extra couple of bucks and serve dinner in Adult portions. Also, I have noticed on YELP more and more possible employees or owners of restaurants who pretend to have been everyday customers who gush about how great this place and that place is. Beware of possible SHILLS!

    (2)
  • Kate K.

Used to be better. They have been messing with the BBQ sauce recipe. The sweet sauce has some weird off-flavors. Vinegar is still good. The slaw and beans are great. Ribs just OK. Plus they have been changing the menu and have raised their prices a LOT. Removed sandwiches from the dinner menu altogether. Meh. Not what it used to be, and the decreased crowds show it. Always used to be a long line out the door on Friday and Saturday nights. Not any more.

I haven't been here in forever, but I had Scrubys ribs over the weekend at a party. I thought the were pretty good. I'm sure their is a lot better, but I wouldn't knock them completely. The sauce was good and the ribs were really tender. And they give you a free bottle of sauce. I didn't have a problem with them at all and everyone loved their baked beans. I can't really talk about the dine-in service though!

  • Corina B.

I agree with Edward's review. If this is your idea of good BBQ, then you have never tasted good BBQ. Since the restaurant was close to my job, went here a few times for lunch with coworkers , and each time I went I was disappointed. I've tried the chicken, ribs, and a burger, but all three were horrid. Save your money and go elsewhere.

You might be tempted by some so called BBQ aficionados to visit Scruby's. You might hear friend and relatives extol the virtues of Scruby's. You might read 4 and 5 star raves on Yelp. I must disagree. The ribs were OK. Tender and slathered with sauce. But I bit one portion that tasted strange, like fishy strange. Like the catfish got in the ribs. NG. That aside the real issue starts with the pork. Sliced pork to be precise. It's not shoulder, its loin. It's not pulled, it's sliced. Real pork BBQ is moist and tasty, this was dry and tasteless. I don't understand. Shoulder is cheaper then loin last time I checked. The sliced beef was so similar in look and taste to the pork that I didn't even realize I was eating beef. It's not even called brisket on the menu, because it's not. I don't know what cut it was but it needed help. I did like the variety of sauces on the table. The meat needed all the help it could get. The seats were long benches that would be a pain if two or more people sat next to each other. The plate that my combo was served on was so small, I thought the waitress was just bringing out the sides. The baked potato was the smallest I've ever been served. Maybe fake baby russets are the new thing. The beans were decent. So, overall I don't see the draw. This is the exact opposite of what real BBQ is. If anyone thinks this is good BBQ, they have never had good BBQ. If you are going for ribs only and your not too picky you'll be OK. My advice is go somewhere else.

The BBQ is good. The service is good also. Busy most of the time. Its is a cool place because you can see the cooks grill the meat and slap on the BBQ in front of you. It is over priced but good food overall.
