Being Indian, I know how good/great biryani tastes, We ordered Goat Biryani for a lunch today(Sat), I hated it. It does not look fresh and taste less. Luckily me n my wife ordered only one main dish as we both are light eaters, we hardly able to ate half portion and packed rest to home. Couple minutes ago we were finishing that left over portion and I found 3cm tape(could be a pricing tag) in the biryani. which prompted me to write this review. We also order a side dish masala fish fry, which is just OK.

Good resturant atmosphere and aroma. The way the resturant is decorated follows nicely with the movie theater theme they were going for as implied from the cheesy looking menus. Their biryani rice is fragrant and delicious. It is truly a rice dish capable of standing on its own without the accompaniment of curries. The curries of their vindaloo, korma, makhani, masala, palak variants are perfectly crafted. I could taste the distinct spices used in each dish which is very impressive to me, because it demonstrates the freshness of the ingredients. Their hottest spice level was a very good burn that rivals most spicy schezwan and thai food I've had. Be warned that this food is actually very spicy to folks who can't handle the burn, go with the medium level: its got a great balance of spice to flavor One thing i didn't like was how I couldn't sub out the rice side for a naan side in my curry entree orders. This makes ordering their biryani and curries entree together a very carb heavy meal. For those curious, the leftovers the next day taste better than leftover curries from other resturants nearby. Thus is definitely a plus for folks like me who enjoys curry as a leftover meal over the day. You won't be disappointed eating here.

Heard of this place from friends. Very casual and down to earth place. Food was delicious. We had garlic Nan, chicken Korma, chicken Tandoori, chicken Biryani. We weren't disappointed. We will be back.

Delicious, and the portions are large. Had the Masala Chai, and Mango Lassi. Lamb Tikka masala, chicken chettinad, lamb vindaloo were all seasoned perfectly !! They gave the choice to make it mild medium or hot, their hot is actually hot! So glad I found a place that's not overpriced! The entrees were all around 11 bucks. The decor is not anything special but the service is great, server is very attentive and the chef came to the table multiple times to make sure everything was ok.

Great little spot worth the try. Very hospitable and we were well taken care of. Owner came out to greet and check on us. He was gracious to receive our comments on the dishes. We will need to come back to try their tandoori chicken which was highly recommended. Great Bollywood music going on while we enjoyed our meal. All the best!!!! #houstonbound

My husband and I have been trying to find a good Pakistani restaurant, closer to our home. I yelped looking for one, and Bollywood Biryani came up. We visited and were not disappointed. The food is fabulous.

Newly remodeled, and it looks warm and inviting with the new color palette and decorative touches. The food remains 5 stars, as does the service. The menu has been expanded with some dishes you probably won't find at any other Indian restaurant. Once again, highly recommended.

Good food....would have received 5 stars except it is a hole in the wall low budget restaurant that lacks ambience. But I go to restaurants for food most of the time the ambiance is third after cleanliness. If your looking for a very good meal and don't care about ambiance this is the place. By the way the service was good and the meal was made to my specification. I'll be back.

This was my second time eating Indian food. I tried this place based on the excellent reviews on yelp. Placed a to-go order for the chicken biryani and garlic naan. Food was ready on time and was cooked to perfection. The previous reviews about the lack of decor are correct as the restaurant is very plain. With that being said, the food was outstanding and I will return.

Very, very, very flavored food. Everything taste great. The place doesn't look fancy, but I go there for the food really. Samosas are great too.

Great food but prices went up $2, yet the portion remains the same, on the small side if you are carrying out. Sorry, won't spend $12 for a pint of chick peas

Saffron grill is my go to Indian place in Seattle and since moving to South Florida had not found an Indian that I was crazy about. But this may be the place! Visit was on a weekday at lunch time. My order included tandoori chicken, brown lentils, garlic naan, and chai. Yummy yum yum! Chicken was moist and cooked throughly with the right spices, lentils soft and tasty and naan was fluffy and hot right out of oven. The chai on the other hand .... Well the Saffron Grill has my heart on that one.

I've eaten at fancy indian restaurants and modest ones from DC to LA, and this one is they type of gem we all hope for...a simple place with amazing food. All the items we ordered came out fresh, high quality, and flavorful. Loved it.

Wife and I wanted setting spicy and delicious, we definitely came to the right place. If you're not into spicy, still go! They make orders to your liking. We dined in and tasted the Garlic Naan, Roti, Chicken 65, and butter chicken. We had trouble deciding what's best. We are looking forward to coming back and trying their other delicious treats. Staff was very personable and attentive, nice, clean, jubilant atmosphere.

Absolute best kept secret! When you first arrive the basic look will give you the impression of average. I sure you it is anything but!! One of the few place that serves hot, spicy food that is balance so well with flavor. A rare gem.

  • Marcie B.

Food was fresh and flavorful. Had the Bollywood lamb chops. The lamb was prepared in a tandoori oven. The chops were very tender and layered with spices. The dish was served with wonderful mint chutney. There were 8 chops in the portion. I have never had lamb chops prepared like this at an Indian restaurant. Would definitely recommend them. We also ordered two vegetable dishes. The Baingan Bartha and Aloo Gobi were equally well prepare and seasoned. Vegetables were fresh and not overcooked. The garlic naan was topped with fresh cilantro. We ordered the dishes medium heat. Had a great meal and look forward to coming back. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Ambiance was average.

After my first visit to Bollywood, I'm recommending it for Indian cuisine lovers. As far as atmosphere and ambiance, there is none:) ...That said, the curries and entrees on deck are fresh, delicious and as hot as you can stand. Solid 3.5 stars, accounting for the decor. I highly recommend a stop.

The honey and I decided to try something new for dinner, so we stopped in at this quaint establishment. We tried the chicken biryani and butter chicken (medium spice level) with garlic and plain naan. The chicken biryani was good, but I tasted some gingery-ness that turned me off to it. Nothing against the dish, I just really don't like ginger. My Boo has never had Indian food before, so I thought a safe option for him would be the butter chicken. It was out of this world good! The medium wasn't too spicy at all. I would actually consider it mild. It was perfect with their fluffy basmati rice and naan! I am happy to say we will definitely be coming back, which is a major victory for my non-foodventurous Boo.

Wow after seeing the 4.5 stars on yelp I drove out of my way to try some good Indian food. Was I disappointed. At 7pm we were the only customer and now I know why. The food and atmosphere were quite disgusting. I'm sure it won't be long till this place goes out of business. Dirty and below par food. Say you blessings if you have to use the bathroom. Never have left a bad review before so that tell you how strongly I don't recommend this place. Ever heard of an Indian restaurant that doesn't have chutney

We wanted to try out a new restaurant, and we haven't had Indian food in awhile so we decided to give this place a try. We were a party of 5 on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The place was not busy but had a few filled tables. The menu offers a lot of variety and the owner was very friendly. He gave us good descriptions of each item and offered nice recommendations. It was cool to see that they had mutton/goat on their menu. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are decent. We were happy to take leftovers home!!! We ordered an array of dishes: chicken tikka- came out sizzling, the chicken was juicy and the spice was perfect. butter chicken- very creamy. we got the mild and loved it. I could drink up the sauce with a spoon, it was sooo good. goat biryani- the rice had a nice kick to it, but we found the goat to be a little gamey. Also be prepared to take your time eating this, because the meat had bones in it. chicken korma- great curry and almond flavor, the sauce was delicious on top of the rice. They have different kinds of naan bread; our favorites were the butter naan and the cheese naan. Also the raita is made differently from what I'm used to. It did not have cucumbers in it but chopped up onions. The food was definitely a 5. This place lacked atmosphere but I did enjoy watching the bollywood music videos on the flat screen tv. The bathroom was also not the cleanest so I had to deduct a star. If you are looking for good indian food, this is the place to come. They also offer take-out which is something we will definitely be taking advantage of. We all left full and great tastes in our mouth!

Really good Indian food, and very accomodating service here. I have been here twice now, and this place is still somewhat new. I hope they make it, but as with the prior restaurant that didn't make it at this location, it is a tricky spot for a restaurant. It's located on Griffin Rd, west of University. If you are coming from University, you have to pass the restaurant and make a u-turn at Pine Island to come back and turn into the plaza. If you're coming east from the opposite direction, you may miss it because of the way it's tucked in the small plaza on the right. If you do find yourself here for lunch, be warned there is no buffet. The owner explained to me that he doesn't like buffets because of how much food gets wasted. I can't say I blame him for feeling that way. I never understood people that fill up their plates with stuff, just to throw it away. Their signature dish is the Biryani, which I ordered on my first visit. I was hoping my co-workers would order something different so I could sample other things, but they all followed suit. I guess it's good that they did, It's really the best I have had in South Florida, and the presentation is really beautiful. It's really hard to make Biryani correctly, and I was amazed at how fluffy and perfect the rice was. My only problem with the dish was the level of heat. For me, it was too much and I have become less tolerant to heat as I have aged. I really savored the dish and drank lots of water between bites. My Indian co-worker didn't think it was spicy enough, so it really is subjective. Today, being that I am in the middle of a protein load, I went with the Chicken Khorma. They made it mild for me, which I appreciated. The sauce was really yummy. I would have filled up just on the sauce and Roti if I could get away with it, but I need my protein. They serve the fluffy Basmati rice with it, and not being in the mood for rice, I ordered some Roti to have instead. I saved the rice for Hubby as Basmati rice is his favorite type of rice. I had plenty of Chicken left for him as well. As I said, I really hope this place makes it. My recommendation to this restaurant would be to offer lunch specials with smaller portions of two entrees to appeal to the lunch crowd. That way people can sample more of the food on the menu during one sitting. The full price of the large single entree really takes the fun out of eating at an Indian restaurant in my opinion. Also a choice between rice and bread with the entrees would be welcomed. I did appreciate the containers they gave me to pack up my food. It never ceases to amaze me how places will give you a single box to pack up your food when you have saucy items and dry items. Then you have to hope that it doesn't all spill together. The owner gave me a nice plastic container and lid perfect for the saucy Chicken, and a separate box for the Rice and Roti. So it made the trip home so my Hubby could enjoy it. It's the little things some times. I recommend giving Bollywood a try. I will be back again to try the Daal and the Chana Masala, both of which are my favorites.

We are miamians but every now and then we make it north for work or errands. Our bet is in davie so while there we usually grab a meal. It hasn't been that easy finding great indian food in south Florida. We have a few standouts in Miami but this place kind of kicks their butts. It's got a Bollywood theme and said music playing and who doesn't love Bollywood? But the real standouts are the highly flavored chicken and biryani dishes. The chicken tikka is so tender with melt in your mouth morsels. We like spicy sober amped it up but you can cool it down with some delicious raita (yogurt/cucumber) or some refreshing mint chutney. I can taste the fresh cilantro on my chicken which for me, is tops. The goat biryani is deelish for goat meat lovers. I'd say they could do with a few more chunks of goat and less rice. Service is a little slow but everything is cooked fresh and so worth it. Decor is cheesy, strip mall stuff but food is stellar and the Bollywood theme as mentioned is cute.

Mmm nommy Indian food in south Florida! I got the lamb tikka masala with medium spice, an order of samosas and naan. My friend got the butter chicken. My lamb was very tender and the restaurant gave us a large portion with plenty of lamb. My friend's butter chicken was delicious! So creamy and flavorful. The garlic naan was good though I wish they gave us a larger portion. A large bowl of rice came with our curries too! The rice could have been flavored more with maybe cilantro or butter. The samosas were normal...nothing impressive. They came with a tamarind sauce and mint chutney though which was nice. Lastly we ordered the mango lassi. I was disappointed to find it served in plastic cups (considering we were at a sit down restaurant). It had more of a yogurt flavor than other ones I've had but wS still very refreshing. Overall it was a good place! I want to try the butter chicken and biryani next time.

Best biryani i've had outside of the Middle East. The rice is perfectly cooked and he spices were fragrant. The fried onions added a crunchy texture that made a difference. The mango lassi and the naan was also the bomb. would definitely come back to this place

  • Bertha T.

The food was incredible although the naan was dry. They do not get 5 stars from me because the place is lacking significantly in ambiance. With a name like Bollywood one would expect brilliant colors and great music. Instead, the surroundings are plain with not one single tablecloth in sight. I would love for them to put forth a little effort!

First visit to bollywood biriyani and I will be back. I had the chilli gobi, malai kufta and butter naan. My friend had the chicken biriyani and egg curry. Although it's a bit far from where I live I will be back because the food was delicious!!! The owner was very attentive as well as our waitress an older lady. If you are looking for great indian food you need to visit bollywood biriyani. So I had to add to this review because I had left overs for lunch and I cannot wait to bring my parents. The food is amazing!!

Bollywood Biryani was great! The owner came and introduced himself, treated us well and gave us his suggestions on the menu. Food was fresh, seasoned well and overall was a great experience. Very small restaurant in an old shopping center so ambiance may not be its strength, but for the food, i'll make the concession. Great experience; I will be back!

this was my 1st time trying Indian and i was really impressed by the quality . the price is great for the quantity . i would definitely go back . the only reason i give a 4 star the bathroom was a little "un clean" . the waitress was very friendly

We have fallen in to a 'Wednesday night is Indian food night' habit and this place is our go-to. It's AWESOME! If you like super spicy they can do it, if you like a little heat but not overwhelming, they can do it. Be warned - hot is HOT. I prefer mild to medium heat depending on my mood, my husband likes the hot heat and my mother in law orders her butter chicken "as hot as you can possibly make it" which they happily accommodate. Overall awesome food and the owner is super friendly.

Just tasted this place for the first time Sunday evening. We know the owner from before and he used to manage paradise biryani pointe on university and Oakland. Now he has taken his expertise and started his own place with the same quality service he used to provide at the previous establishment albeit cheaper and better prices. The chicken 65 and chilli chicken are amazing and the biryani is better than most other desi restaurants. Now remember you are going to a Pakistani restaurant so order accordingly and don't order too spicy and being brave because most of you out there won't be able to handle the spices. Also order the Naans as they are delicious with the entrees. The decor to the place is not as clean as paradise but given time and business improvement I believe management will turn this into one of the successful Pakistani restaurants in south Florida .

Great service! The owner is very nice and will come to your table. Get the Gobi Manchurian, it delicious, and I had never tried this dish before. I loved the chicken Korma, with a Peshawari nan!

Wow!! What great food... We had a wonderful meal.... Bangara Baingha, Chicken Biryani, Chicken with curry and coconut. Garlic naan bread was excellent as well. Generous portions, moderate prices, very friendly staff made great suggestions. Will be back for sure!

I have a new favorite Indian place for lunch. Had a lovely lunch with my mother there yesterday. We ordered vegetable samosa and it was fresh and delicious. The butter nan was the best I've ever had! My entree was vegetable korma, also delicious. What else can I say? Can't wait to return.

My friends and I love to pick up food from this restaurant when we're in the mood for some delicious local Indian dishes. I would definitely recommend the mango chicken curry, it's one of our favorites! It strikes a beautiful balance between spicy and sweet, with a wonderful mango taste. The lamb vindaloo is a wonder as well, and I'm glad that my friend shared it with me. You can't go wrong with any of their yummy dishes, and make sure to pick up some sides too! We are in love with the garlic naan personally, which is a yummy pita-like bread. It's required for sopping up all that great sauce! Overall, a great place with great food. You should try it too!

  • Justin D.

The atmosphere of the resteraunt is okay at best. The food was about the same. It was goat biriani but the quality of the meat was poor. Lots of bones and rice. Brings back memories of the "Where's the Beef" advertisement ms of old. Na'an was best part of the meal. I would go back if someone asked to go there by name but I would suggest Indian Palace as a much better place to eat Indian food. I've lived I. The Middle East and not in the dessert. Amongst the people. This barely resembles the food from there. Quality was just lacking.

I wish there were more stars because I would give this place all of them, I used to work for the Indian embassy and I know good food when I have it and this is some of the best Indian in all of south Florida. The service is friendly, the restaurant is clean and cozy, but the real gem here is the food. I never pass up the opportunity to come here, order anything on the menu, you won't be disappointed. Tell you friends, make sure to order the chicken 65 (hot) and mango lassies for everyone! I love Bollywood biryani. It's a must on any really Florida foodies hot spot list.

When my daughter and I walked in here, we were greeted by the owner and the wonderful aroma of spices. My daughter's mango lassi was very smooth and tasted fantastic. Our the owner gave us many helpful suggestions on what to order. We decided to start with vegetable samosas. They came out hot, they were well spiced, and mildly spicy. Soon after our meals came. My daughter had the chicken biryani which was falling off the bone and was beautifully seasoned. It came on a bed of rice. I got the chicken tikka which was also very good. Both were so huge they made about two meals. Overall this restaurant provides great food and fabulous service. We are definitely coming back.

Went for dinner last night. Food was very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the chicken tikka masala(Good, but not great. Tasted more like butter chicken), mixed vegetable pakora (okay), chicken 69 (pretty tasty, but doesn't seem like an appetizer to me) mango curry chicken (amazing flavor and not too sweet), a garlic naan (good), and a cheese naan (delicious). The food was very fresh, but one thing I was surprised about was that I ordered all of my dishes at medium heat and they weren't really spicy at all. Next time, I will have to order them very spicy. I will definitely be back.

This is my second time visiting Bollywood Biryani! The food is DELICIOUS!! The owner is gracious and welcoming! Brenda is awesome and attentive! I drive 30 min just for the food! The Paneer Masala, Chicken Korma, Chicken Mango Massala, Chicken 65, plain and garlic naan are just fantastic choices! Please do yourself a favor and come to this place! Oh and I forgot, the RASMALAY (dessert) was tasty!! It was on the house the first time I came.. Now I paid it for it, loved it! The owner is great!

My sister just moved to the area and we were coming back from picking up her 2 kids (one is 3 years old and the other is 18 months) we were craving some good Indian food and this was the first place to come up on yelp so we figured we'd give it a try. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! The decor is simple and nothing crazy and we may have only been the 2nd table at the time we went, I am pretty sure the man who took our orders was the owner and he was so incredibly nice. He was patient with the kids and would joke around about the kids ( he spoke of his kids ranging from 20-7 years old) He was very hospitable and made our lunch enjoyable. We obviously had to order the Biryani (goat biryani in fact) since it is in the title of the restaurant, and we order lamb chops (I'm sorry but I don't remember the name :( ) but it had bell peppers in it. Along with the galric naan and plain (butter) naan. EVERYTHING WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS THINGS I'VE HAD when it comes to Indian food. The naan blew me away, it tasted so fresh and warm and I would kill to have some right now! The lamb was flavorful as was the goat biryani. What we ordered was not spicy, but the Biryani had a little kick which very mild eaters might find spicy. I loved my experience here and I will definitely be back first thing, the next time I fly into Florida.

The owner was warm and welcoming . I appreciate the waitress who was very pleasant ,energetic and hard working for her age. I ordered for a chicken biryani last night and it turned out to be a perfect dish just like India ! All the flavors were perfect and the chicken tasted good ... Definitely worth for the money . Very happy to have a great and simple Indian restaurant at davie . Will get back to this restaurant very soon to try other dishes ....

I've been to a couple of Indian Restaurant, but Bollywood Biryani has the best Malai Kofta I've ever had. In fact, it's blown every other Indian dish I've ever had out of the water. The restaurant is clean, and everyone is so polite. I HIGHLY recommend this not only to Indian food lovers, but anyone who wants to try it. Even if you don't like Indian food, give this place a chance and I'm sure you'll change your mind!

I visit the Cooper City area once a week for work and have been cutting meat out of my diet. It was lunch time so I search for India restaurants with Yelp and saw the reviews on this place. They were not wrong! The food was excellent and the service as well. I ordered the Mixed Veg Pakoras as an appetizer with the Aloo Mutter as an entree. Plus an order of Garlic Naan bread that was fresh out of their clay oven. There was so much food that I took half of the meal to go and just finished it for dinner. I highly recommend this place.

I have been to this place, looking for new restaurants to visit since i have moved to Davie. What a gem! Indian food that will liven up your taste buds. Everything was delicious, from the naan to the chichken biryani and to top it off, the service could not have been friendlier! My husband also loved everything we tried. It as been a while since we were there last so i can't remember everything that we had, but omg all was delicious! Fresh food, bold flavors, well prepared. NOT for the shy or people that consider fast food good.

A simple place with amazing southern Indian food. We had a Goan style fish a spinach with chunks of cottage cheese, roasted eggplant in coconut tamarind sauce, Dahl and garlic nan. Everything is over the top delicious, fresh and healthy. Not greasy. Janade is super nice and made our first experience here very enjoyable. As we enjoyed our meal we thought of all of our friends we can't wait to tell about this new little gem in davie! We'll be back before the weeks end!

We are here for the third time in 3 days. The food is consistently good, and at times really good, and probably the most reasonable prices in south Florida I've seen yet. They are still new, so I hope they drum enough business to go the long haul because I'd like to keep coming her for a long time. The reason I'm giving a 4 and not 5 is because the woman who aways seems to be here serving... she knows little about the menu and isn't at all willing to help out. I saw her turn customers away at 9:31 because the "kitchen closes at 9:30" which is the opposite of the owner, who is always right there to help out or answer questions. I hope for their sake that she either gets her act together or they find someone as gung go as the owner is to put the customer first.

Delicious. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken. We also ordered a garlic naan and the cheese naan. Everything we had was fantastic. I asked for spicy and I got a flavorful dish that was spicy but extremely flavorful. Just the right amount of spice with a blast of flavor. Everything was cooked perfectly. Portions were huge. The prices were really affordable. The owner served us, he was excellent. Very pleasant, great attitude and a wonderful host. I've found my new favorite Indian restaurant.

I have been here twice and the food has been, both times, phenomenal. This is worth the drive and worth every single cent. I have had the goat masala and the lamb tikka masala and it was an explosion of flavor. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The food was so great, that the naan blew me away. Do yourself the favor and just come to this restaurant.

I didn't like the food at all. We ordered chicken and goat Biriyani. It's tastes so old. I will never come back to this place.

Just tried this place for the first time, the food's amazing, cheap and great quality. A definite must eat in David. Plus the staff is very friendly.

Being an enthusiastic foodie of Indian eats I thought this place was decent. My local spot was Ruchi but one day I found this place and the name intrigued me. I was a little skeptical at first because I am thinking this place was named something different before and I had tried out some 6 months back and I thought the food was.. MEH. But I read the reviews and it seems it was recently new. I also noticed the menu had things like Chicken 65 so I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed. I actually was pretty happy with this place. We ordered a few biryani's and some chicken 65. Very similar to Paradise in Sunrise of which I learned the new owners were the cooks at Paradise. No wonder! I thought the 65 was tender and just wet enough that I enjoyed it. The biryani's were also to my liking. Not too dry and not too oily. I didn't try any of the curries yet, but I did have yellow lentils and also thought they were pretty good. I am hoping the quality stays good because I have visited a few times and look forward to trying some of the curries.

We're visiting from Chicago and found this place on Yelp with amazing ratings so we decided to try it. The food was delicious! We had chicken vindaloo, daal makhani and garlic naan. All was so tasty. We're Indians and eat Indian food all the time. This place get an A++.

  • Diana D.

Came here for lunch. Had the chicken soup. It was delicious. Vegetable Samosas. They were hot, fresh and very good. Goat Biryani. It was pretty good but it had lots of bones so it was a little unpleasant to eat. Garlic Naan and Onion kulcha both very, very good. The owner was very nice and attentive. The food was hot and delicious. Now that I know it's so close to home I will definetly be back.

This little restaurant had delicious and authentic Indian food. The samosas were crispy on the outside and full of potato goodness on the inside. I loved the sauces they served with them. We shared two dishes between three people and had plenty to take home! Very generous portions and good priced food. The only drawback is that they don't serve alcohol. Nothing tastes better with Indian food than an ice cold Taj Mahal beer! The tv was playing a Bollywood movie and it was fun to watch. It wasn't too loud so didn't overpower the dining room. Fun little place that seemed popular for take out too!

  • Salinda N.

Ordered lamb tikka masala, butter chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable biryani. So good! Food came out in good time and everything tasted great. The place is a bit shabby, but not too bad. The food makes up for it. The only thing I didn't like was the mango lassi. It just tasted like yogurt - just yogurt and nothing else. I will come back though!

Great food, great portion size! I suggest the butter chicken hot, mango chicken curry, bollywood goat curry, naan, etc.

Service is not that great, silverware not clean, food was not to my liking. My bf and i were excited to visit and try something new. I never had been a fan of indian food maybe that could be it but i was definitely not a fan of the food. Theres no ambience, no alcohol and probably not a good place for dating. I was hoping for better :/

I've eaten at dozens of desi restaurants. This one is my favorite in the south Florida area as of right now. Flavor was on point, and spice was perfect. The menu has everything it needs in my book, and the portions and atmosphere are definitely up to par with your average spot of this demographic. Real fresh tandoor naan is the next step, and I have yet to find this anywhere in south Florida. I am from Dallas, Texas, so I am making these restaurants compete with the best.

Love this place! My fiance and I went for the first time on Saturday and we loved it. Every dish we ordered was amazing. We kept ordering more and mord food so we could take some home. Really authentic Indian food. Would highly recommend.

The honey and I decided to have Indian cuisine and a Yelp search displayed this little gem in the heart of Davie. Upon entering, you catch the eye of a server or the owner and they permit you to select your seat of choice. We started with the garlic naan bread and although I enjoyed it, I felt it was missing a component - garlic! I really don't recall tasting much garlic at all but I'm a garlic lover so my expectations may have been high. He had the curry goat and I had the vegetable biryani. I've never had it before and asked for a bit more spice to which the owner replied, "it's made in batches so we cannot adjust the spice." The food arrived smoking hot and quite plentiful. The basmati rice was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable biryani and to my surprise it had a wonderful "kick" to it. I received my spice after all. I washed it all down with mango lassi, a refreshing beverage I always get at Indian restaurants. They have a 40" or so TV that plays Bollywood (duhhh) and I enjoyed watching it. We will definitely be back for me to try a few more dishes.

Authentic!!! We have eaten there at least 5 times this month! The food is so delicious and fresh. I will say , the decor is not too fancy, but I would prefer great good at a reasonable price than over priced decor. The owner is very friendly and makes a point to talk to all customers. Great find in Cooper City!

After all the good reviews I traveled out to Davie while in town to have dinner with my father. Being a Los Angeles resident I have been to many great Indian restaurants and I have to say the food here was just eh OK. Nothing special, below average Chicken Tikka Masala and very small portions. I guess south Florida residents don't realize Indian can be and IS much better! The servers haven't a single idea anything about Indian food, and the water smells so strongly of chlorine I had to order an ice tea. (A can of brisk lemon). We were the only guests there and the food took forever. I would not recommend.

    (2)
  • Rahul A.

the gobhi manchurian was pretty authentic. the malai kofta was pretty good. Surprisingly the Biryani is below par and has not been cooked in the authentic way a biryani needs to be cooked, the flavor was hugely lacking. Same goes for the garlic naan, below average. good pricing and big portions, i would give it 6 on 10.

This place was really good! Quick service, good food, large portions. Definitely will return!

Taking our que from Guillermo M (above) we were met warmly by Brenda, Junaid and Reena. The chicken tikka masala, chicken 65 and the garlic naan were terrific! Brenda and Junaid (she was in-training that evening) were very attentive and were happy to share their opinion about their favorites - and they should since they know the chef. If you're in the mood for authentic Indian food, this was a great recommendation. Great job!

Perfect hole in the wall. My friends and I ordered Aloo Tikki, Goat Briyani, Chicken Tandoori, Shrimp Madras and Garlic Naan. Everything was delicious and tasty!!! My favorite was the Shrimp Madras. It goes well with fluffy white basmati rice and garlic naan....yummy!!!!

Chef and owner are from paradise biryani restaurant in sunrise. Honestly, it was decent but not impressed with the biryani....expected more. It was dry and lacking spices as per aunthentic indian taste. Frozen vegetables...not a fan :( Will give it another try as the naan and curries look good.

Best Indian food in South Florida in a very unpretentious setting and casual atmosphere. Service is great and the food is amazing. I love Indian food and I've been to a number of restaurants in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco... and let me tell you this place is just as good, if not better. Looking forward to becoming a regular! ! !

This was my first time coming here. We enjoyed the butter chicken ( spicy option), the vegetable biryani and garlic naan. All of the dishes were excellent. The service was very good. It was a clean and lightly decorated restaurant. A place I am sure will be going back too soon!

Food was flavorful, and traditional Indian cuisine. The spice level was perfect, and food portions outrageously large! If you want amazing-quality, inexpensive food, this is the place to go!

Food was good, atmosphere was a bit drab. I asked for vegetable samosas for an appetizer and they were out, I also would've liked a glass of wine while I waited for my entree however they do not serve liquor. I did enjoy their butter chicken and next time I have a craving for Indian food I'll order to pick up however I won't be returning to dine in.

We really enjoyed this new indian restaurant. Indian food is very new to us and we have enjoyed both visits! The owner is so nice and helpful. Service is quick, prices are very reasonable. Food is hot and fresh. Everything we have ordered has met and exceeded our expectations . I hope this restaurant has lots of success :)

Excellent authentic Indian food with service to match. We started with the Lamb Pepper Fry appetizer and it was so tasty. Followed with Palak Paneer which was a wonderful vegetarian entree consisting of the perfect blend of cottage cheese and blended spinach. Finished with Bollywood Goat Curry which did a great job of complementing and contrasting the flavors of the other dishes. This unpretentious restaurant in a small strip mall proved to be a very high level dining experience as far as my palate was concerned. These people really know what they're doing. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian food or just looking to try something different you will not be disappointed.

Good Indian food is difficult to find in South Florida for some reason, and when you do find it it's often bizarrely expensive. Not so here! The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I usually stop by for lunch, and from my first visit the owner has remembered my name, my order, and my spice preferences. I typically get the Palak Paneer and the Chicken Korma, but have tried several other dishes and have never had a bad one! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and I've never felt rushed. I've tried most of the Indian restaurants within a 30 minute drive from me, and Bollywood Biryani is now my 'go-to' - excellent food, excellent staff, lovely atmosphere.

Indian cuisine in a strip mall. They opened 6 months ago. The inside looks like a converted Chinese restaurant. Despite the decor, the food is very good. Had two appetizers, naan, goat curry and veg biranyi. All came out hot and tasty. Will recommend and will be back.

Me and my wife found this place last night as we were driving by and decided to look up the reviews on yelp. It got 5 stars and now I know why. The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, and cooked with quality meat and ingredients. Not to mention the price was the best around. I am a Pakistani American and I know good indian food, this place will not dissapoint. Recommend the veg pakoras, butter chicken, and Naan. The owner Junaid was so friendly and made sure our meal was to our satisfaction. The head chef also came out to check on us which was very nice.. I will definitely be going back here!

A favorite go to restaurant for Indian food my husband and myself. Very reasonable prices and great food! One of the only places where I can get my food "extra spicy" and the know what I mean! Love it :)

I discovered this restaurant the first week it opened. I have been back every two weeks (or more) ever since. I have tried every item on the non-veg entrée menu, and I am now working my way through the vegetarian menu. Chef Latheef's Goat Masala and the Chana Masala are my top favorites. All the biryanis are good. You can't go wrong with any selection here, especially the chicken dishes. I love the cool bottles that carry the water to the table. I really like tamarind sauce with my Indian meals, and the waiter/manager happily obliges each time I am there and provides me with a small tub. I'll let you know when I make it through the entire menu. :-) :-)

We tried this place three time . Awesome food . Veg brayani is so good . We ordered veg brayani , chicken tikka masala , garlic naan , chicken 65 . The quantity is very good and taste is very good . We know this chef and manager from other restaurant. Our friends like this place a lot . We order for our office also . Glad good restaurant is near by now

Fantastic! Prices are good, portions are huge and it's very tasty. We got the chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and lamb tikka masala. All were excellent and easy enough to share. I like spicy food and found the medium to be somewhat mild.

I checked out this place because people gave this place 4 1/2 stars. We ordered take out so I cant comment on the service. But calling this North Indian food is an insult. Yes,its Indian food and the dishes do look slightly similar to the ones ordered but nowhere is it close to the actual flavorful taste of the actual dishes. We ordered a variety of vegetarian and chicken dishes mainly entrees and a couple of appetizers. None of which were even close to the taste of how its supposed to be. Its more like Tacobell selling Tacos. This review is written by a well travelled hardcore Bombay transplant. If u have been here and like Indian food I would recommend traveling elsewhere in the area (nothing great in South Broward) to check out how real North Indian food tastes like, u surely are missing something. BTW the chefs here are from Chennai which is the southernmost state in India- for all those non-Indian folks reading this; its as good as a Chinese chef making Indian food.

This Indian restuarant is as good as it gets. I love their food. Try the mango chicken curry. It is delicious. The nan is special. The Indian music and the Bollywood videos add to the atmosphere. Give it a try. It will be worth you time.

We just had dinner here and the food was horrible. We should have known when we walked in and it was empty. Worst Indian food ever!!!! I had the curried goat and it had no flavor. The naan was the only edible thing I had and it still was not great. I don't understand how the previous reviews gave this place 4.5 stars. Yuck!!! First and last visit!

We often search yelp for good food. Found this place and was very satisfied. Portions were nice and big. We ordered our food medium and it wasn't as hot as expected so they brought us out the sauce to spicen it up. Food was great and service was as well.

It'll be hard for me to focus on this review given my mouth is still burning from the spicy butter chicken my wife ordered. Rich and tasty, I know now it was a mistake to brave her entree. Our toddler crushed some boneless chicken tikka. It was by far the best prepared tikka we've had. I had their signature chicken biryani. Something I order at other restaurants. However, this was a step above. So many spices! So many flavors! My mind was a little blown. A friend of mine recommended this place a few weeks back. I am very happy I listened.

This was excellent! Yummy food and nice people. I'll definitely be going back. Can't wait to try more food... We had the chicken tiki masala, tandoori chicken, garlic Naan and the vegetable samosas. I'm sure it all tastes great!

Round 2 at Bollywood Biryani. I was even more surprised this visit than my first. New floor and seats made the restaurant look very nice. This time I had the Mango chicken with the garlic nann. AMAZING! Also once again I had the Masala Chai and it was Awesome! If you have not yet been there your really missing out!

First time there because of the Yelp reviews. Small place in a strip of stores. Started with 2 orders ( 3 each ) of Veg Samosas @ $5.99 ( triangular fried pastry filled with potatoes and peas ) GOOD. Our main order consisted of Tandoori Chicken $12.99 ( chicken marinated with yoghurt , ginger, garlic and spices ) GOOD. Chicken Chettinad $12.99 ( authentic spicy chicken blend with several spices ) " Med. spicy". VERY GOOD. Mango Chicken Curry $12.99 ( Chicken cubes cooked in a rich creamy mango sauce ) "Med spicy. VERY GOOD.. Lamb Khorma $13.99 ( Lamb cubes cooked in a rich almond gravy with yoghurt ) "Med. Spicy. VERY GOOD. Dishes come with white rice but we ordered a side of Veg. Biryani rice since that is always good. $10.99.. 2 orders of Garlic Naan @ $3.00. The best I have had. The lady server doesn't seem know the menu and the manager overheard us asking questions she wasn't handling well and stepped in to take our orders. Very willing to help in any way he could to make sure we were happy. Prices are good and dish quantity is adequate. We will be back..

A new Indian restaurant, and I couldn't wait to try it, so we brought our two kids for dinner tonight. The food was awesome! We started with the chili gobi (fried cauliflower) app. It was absolutely delicious!!Then we had the veg byrani, a shrimp in tomato cream sauce and spinach paneer we really enjoyed it all so much! The waitress was super friendly and the manager very attentive. I was glad to see they have some off the beaten path items on their menu and will be back to try more. Also the lunch specials look very good. Come on in and try this place!

Authentic cuisine made so lovingly. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating. The menu is very varied, so it's good for any diets. The food is bursting with flavour, some of the best I've eaten. I can only say that it is as good as mom's home cooking!

  • Carmen D.

The chicken tikka masala was delicious. However, our entire group (6 people) was overcharged for our meals. The cook and waitress kept staring at our table while whispering and giggling to themselves. It's unfortunate because I wanted to bring my family there but I probably won't ever go back. FYI: We did not dispute the charges due to time constraints (lunch break).

Hopped in today and ordered the goat biryani. Have to say I think the place lived up to most of the yelp reviews I read. The strong Indian flavors stayed long after I finished eating. The place was very clean and the owner was extremely nice. I think next time I'll be trying a veggie dish!

The rice in the biryani (Goat and Chicken) is fluffy and that is all there is to it. I haven't tasted the other dishes - so don't know if they are any good.

First time having Indian food in perhaps 10 years and glad we came here. The owner showed up later in the meal and he was charming, gracious and inviting. The old lady who serves has no clue about Indian food and was off-putting. I asked a few questions about ingredients and all she did was look at the same description as I in the menu and repeat what was written. I wanted to avoid milk products and she couldn't help with any suggestions. Eventually she said, "My glasses are at the register and I can't read the menu, the print is too small." And she walked off. We took a stab at a few dishes and they were all excellent. Decor is 1970's and somewhat drab; server was blah, but the food and prices were great. Decor can be changed. Server should be changed. Food and prices are the winners!

If they had beer I would give this unpretentious place a 5 star review. Located in a strip mall, very homey. The food was delicious. We began with Gobi 65 (cauliflower). It was something we had never had and it was excellent. I had egg Biryani which was a vegetable biryani with hard boiled egg on top...yummy! My husband had the lamb Tika Masala. He was very happy! We drove out from the beach and this place is worth the drive.

  • Abby A.

This food is fantastic! Just awesome. I got the chicken tikka masala and some butter naan to go. The person taking my order was friendly and helpful. The food came out fast and packaged solidly. No spills or drips in the car! But the real star is the food - it's truly delicious.

Went in with my family last week for the first time. We didn't know a lot about Indian food. The owner was very attentive and helped us decide what to order. The food was amazing. My wife loved the mango chicken and the biryani was excellent. The restaurant itself could use a little updating, but the food is great. We will probably start getting take out from there a couple of times a month.

I've been coming to this place since it opened a couple months ago. The food is absolutely delicious. I've tried all of the indian places around here and this place will make your food exactly how you want it. I order the chicken tikka masala (extra spicy) about 3 times a week and it's consistently amazing. Naan is very good. The owner is very friendly and willing to accommodate any request. It's a new business, I recommend giving it a shot. Make sure to request the food how you like it!
