Fuggedaboutit! THIS is the quintessential Italian market. Homemade pastas, sauces, desserts and a meat market...you'll be salivating before you even reach the gourmet olive oil section. If you make a meal with their homemade pastas, you'll never go back to store bought again. Absolutely delectable. They also have an Italian restaurant nestled in the middle with a buffet full of delicious Italian dishes. You'll feel like you went to little Italy. I also love the old school feel of the market itself. There's no blinding lights and high-tech cash registers here like Publix. You'll feel like you traveled back to a more calm, sane time. We were joking that the only thing that would make this more Italian is if we found a shinebox or a dead body in the freezer. Joking, joking...I'm a Goodfellas fan. In other words, go! Or I'll send the Good Guys after ya. Hey ohhh....

Not sure where the negative comments are coming from. Yes, the crowd is a little older So what? It"s also more of a seasonal place. Don't let that discourage you from going. The food is great, it's like getting a home cooked meal. Large portions. I recommend the pork chops as you get 2 with a side of pasta. Actually i don't think you can go wrong with any choice. They also have great specials.Vito and Tonda are great. Also if you like oysters when Mike the owner gets them in they are a great choice. They also have a great Groupon deal that they just started.

Talk about good, down-home Italian-American cooking! This low-key restaurant located on US-1 in Dania Beach is a must-visit. I found the restaurant on Groupon (*Groupon Alert*) and I am so glad I decided to buy it. The hubby and I visited Lorenzo's during a weeknight when we decided we didn't feel like cooking. We entered the restaurant around 8pm and noticed it was a bit empty, almost like they were closing. Our waitress, Linda, greeted us at the door and said they had just finished a big private event not long after we entered. She was happy to seat as assured us that the kitchen was still open for business. Awesome. We ordered an appetizer: the Tomato and Mozzarella. This was probably one of the best appetizers I have ever had. Sliced tomato topped with fresh sliced mozzarella and fresh chopped garlic. To make it better, it was sprinkled with pepper, and drizzled in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. So simple, yet so delectable. It was genius. It was a perfect compliment to the red wine. For dinner I had the Baked Lasagna and a meatball, and my husband had the NY Strip Steak and Sautéed Spinach. My goodness, the tomato sauce had an excellent flavor, just what I was craving. A little bit of sweet mixed with a lot of acidic tomato. The lasagna was doused in the sauce, as was the meatball. I couldn't get enough of this lasagna. The portions for both of our dishes were HUGE too! It was enough to stuff me at the table, and stuff me twice again during lunch over the next two days (since I obviously took the rest to go). I was so full that dessert was a big no-go. Bottom line, if you are looking for good Italian-American dining then this restaurant is a must visit. It's been open for quite some time too! The owner told us that the restaurant has been open for about 42 years, and you can't help but hear that east-coast Italian American accent in his voice that lets you know the food is real deal. Sorry Grandma, looks like you got competition on the big Italian Sunday dinner!

We ate here on Saturday night and used a Groupon Special. The appearance of the restaurant is nothing to write home about and down right needs an update. But the feel of it inside is truly authentic and the food was superb. I had the traditional Chicken Parmesan which I I have to say it ranks in the top 5 of all time and I had some seriously good ones. We will absolutely be going back. Like many of the earlier comments this establishment is frequented by an older customer base. Big deal. Sit in the bar and its a fun vibe.

Fantastic food in a classic Italian setting. This place has a special place in my heart as it was a favorite of my mom Suzanne.

This is hands down the best Italian food I've ever had. Their recommendations were delicious and they were so accommodating to my dietary restrictions. All the appetizers and entrees were full of rich flavor, very fresh, and the portions were great. Let's just say all of us left happy and satisfied. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try real authentic Italian food.

Had a family meal on a Friday night in summer around 7pm. Waitress busy but friendly and attentive. Other patrons were jovial and on the older side. Food was fabulous! Had shrimp scampi, husband had lobster special, son had spaghetti & tomato sauce. Bread loaves were toasted in an oven and came warm. Yum! Side salad had lots of ingredients. Sauces were delicious and mopped up & eaten with the bread, they were so good. I learned long ago that the older crowds in South Florida always know where to get a great meal without paying too much, so this is another sign of a good restaurant, IMHO. This restaurant has been in business for so many years, and I understand why -- great food.

My sweetheart and I went to Lorenzo's, for the first time,--- last nite. We LOVED the food and the service. And, we enjoyed eating at a spacious table, which allowed us to have private conversation. Our server was LInda. She was VERRRRY accommodating and eager to please. We used a Groupon,---which made the REASONABLE prices,--- EVEN more reasonable. The antipasto appetizer is FILLED with cheeses, salami, ham and veggies,--- and was a PLENTIFUL portion. Our main courses were just like my Italian GRANDMA used to make. He had the Pork Pizzaiola dish and I had the Veal Parmagiana entrée. Both were served with an ample portion of pasta. They were BOTH exceptionally delicious. And, the cheesecake that we shared for dessert--was mouth watering. We loved Lorenzo's so MUCH-- that we plan to return, very soon. The food and the prices make this a GEM of a restaurant.!

You know why there is not but a few rating about this place....because everyone there is of the generation that does not use computers. And they think it is a great place.....it is NOT! It use to be....but something happened and down it went....I refuse to go there when I am in town as I got a whopper case of food poisoning from here....oh the shrimp scampi I will never eat again. Save your sinking ship owners!

The first negative, was that they sat us in a dining room, where, there was seat for probably 50 people and there was one lonely man there, why they sat us right next to him ,I don't know, I am sure he wanted privacy like us but did not get it. Food was fine, but after a great appetizer, we asked the French waitress from Quebec that has been working there for ever,if we could share an entree and she said, yes any things you want, but never told us we had to pay sharing fee If you want to keep customers happy, tell them the facts in front, we felled cheated. The please need redecoration. It look it age, like me. Ha! Ha!

It was kind of dead, but some music was playing. The place also seemed kind of cozy... We were told that this place would get busy in the winter time. Our waitress Danielle was overly friendly. She brought a plate of minced garlic, then poured olive oil on it herself along with some parmesan cheese to dip our breads in. It was good way to start an appetizer. The menus were old, so you may see some different order of the entrees from each other. Don't let that freak you out. I didn't see what I was looking for, so I asked if they made penne with pink vodka sauce.. and they can do that for you. The sauce came out to be light orange, but it was fine for me because it tasted yummy. It was a big dish, though. Salads were great... some yummy balsamic vinegar with olive oil on fresh greens and shredded carrots, tomatoes, and red onions. Just the way I want it. I dipped the dressing with my bread there again. I'm a dipper with my foods (yes, including the pasta with sauce.) That's how I roll..

I finally went to this place yday and it had delicious food.. I think this place caters to the older croud. It was quite, dimly lit, cozy enough. We were sat down by the head chef. We were the youngest ones there but that didnt stop us from dining at this expensive eatery. Yes it is a bit pricey. We had the baked lasagna which was deliiicious!!! The texture of the pasta was tongue felt and the sweet marinara sauce mmhmm good!! and lots of that lasagna type cheese..I ordered a side salad for an extra 2 bucks, and it had cucumbers tomatoes olive (2 of each) and balsamic dressing. very freshsalad and bread. The bread was real good. I was very glad i experienced something like this. Even though it is more than i usually spend for myself i went with my woman and had a great time paying like a rockstar hehe.. I wouldnt say this placed made me feel high profile, bc it was our waitresses first night.. but when u pay alot of money u feel good ur able to spend it (sometimes) never mind the service, thats not wat im yelping about, but my stomach was full to the max when i left!! Smiles up! Oh, and bill was 34.39.. for those interested!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
