While on vacation over July 4th weekend, my husband and I decided to eat here our first night based on other Yelp reviews. We wanted to eat as much fresh seafood as we could while near the ocean, and Emerald Isle did not disappoint. I ordered the fish and chips, and my husband had the shrimp po-boy. Both were delicious. I believe this place also had the best hushpuppies out of anywhere we ate on this trip. We shared a cup of gumbo, and that was really good, too. The place doesn't look like much, but the staff was friendly, and the service was quick. Definitely recommend it!

My wife and I were driving into Destin for a week-long vacation. We were already getting famished, and I figured that it would be easier to stop for lunch outside of Destin and then just truck on in. Emerald Isle looked like the perfect spot to grab some delicious seafood. The dining area here is sort of small, but certainly large enough for our purposes. The seafoam walls are relaxing, and the typical nautical decor put us in a beachy mood. In addition to the restaurant, they also have seafood available for purchase (as the name would suggest). The market section is pretty big. I really wanted to snag some alligator/pork and pork/crawfish sausage for the road, but my wife said no. Party pooper. I ended up ordering the Gulf Shrimp, blackened. It comes with hush puppies and two sides of your choosing, for which I selected the Gouda cheese grits and the fries. The hush puppies were super fluffy and had an awesome batter. The fries were surprisingly and pleasantly fresh cut shoestrings. They had a great seasoning and were very tasty. I don't eat grits all that often, mostly because I usually find them a bit flavorless. These, however, were delicious and creamy. I could really taste the Gouda! My shrimp were extra-delicious from all of the blackening spices. They also tasted very fresh, although I'd expect nothing less from a place so near the water. Our waitress was a sweetheart and gave us great service. She also gave us a few tips for Okaloosa Island. We will definitely be back!

The fresh seafood is out of this world delicious! We had the bronzed fish tacos (best I have ever eaten!) and the shrimp platter. The homemade key lime pie was light and fluffy - so delicious! The fish market has all of the product on ice so you know it is fresh. Laid back atmosphere and great service. We cannot say enough good things about this place!

Fourth or fifth visit to this restaurant, lunch and dinner. It is always very good. Fried items cooked fist right. Wait staff very knowledgeable. Good shrimp, oysters, and a good selection of fresh fish. Good value for the money. They also have a market selling fresh seafood. Reasonable prices.

Driving across I-10 around 7:30 PM I knew my dining options were going to be limited in the area and I wanted to fine something good before it got to late. I jumped on YELP and found this place by the looks of the pictures and the reviews it was an easy choice to make. What a great find we walked in there were a few people sitting and enjoying their dinner it was open seating so we grab a booth and was immediately greeted by Rena she was very pleasant and explained a few specials and took our drink order. I had already made my decision before I got a menu after looking at the pictures that were posted with the reviews. It has been quite sometime since I seen fried crab claws on the menu so I opted for half fried shrimp and half crab claws they were served up with two sides so I chose the fries and black eyed peas. The shrimp were nice medium size fried crispy but not over done as were the crab claws I was very impressed by the portion size for the price it was enough to feed two. The fries were fresh hand cut a little larger than shoestring cut and fried perfectly they weren't greasy they were absolutely delicious the black eyed peas were cooked southern style cooked down till they broke and were very well seasoned. Everything was great so great that I ordered dessert which is rare for me but the Key Lime Pie was just so tempting I had to try it. It was really one of the best I've had in a long long time the crust seemed to be infused with a slight hint of cinnamon it was different but oh sooooo good. This place is spotless clean and the service is wonderful. I definitely loved everything about this place, the second side of the restaurant is the fresh seafood market and oh how I wished I would of arrived when it was open they offer a great selection of seafood including the crab claws. The prices all seemed reasonable. If you find yourself in the area and looking for a real seafood treat don't drive by this one.

Really glad we exited here for dinner rather than pushing on down the highway. Not only really fresh seafood, but we'll made and a nice, friendly staff. Great place

Using my yelp app while on crestview while visiting family. I stopped by this little place. Ingot the food to go because I didn't want to eat alone. I got the bronzed gulf shrimp with green beans and coleslaw. Everything was so good... And only $15.99 for 12 shrimp...

Refreshing local stop on the way to the ocean. Fresh fish and shrimp galore. They were out of fresh crab and lobster when we stopped by, but we were just passing through wanting a light lunch anyway. The crab cakes and boiled shrimp were very good. Don't let the fish market sign and old building scare you away. It's worth the stop!

Best food and service I've ever had. Wonderful crab cakes and golden grouper special. Can't recommend this place more!

We really enjoyed it here. The Shrimp and Oysters were very fresh and well prepared. The twice baked potatoes accompanied them perfectly. We followed it up with some delicious home made deserts. The service was very good and the prices are reasonable.

We saw the Yelp reviews and were close by and hungry so we stopped for lunch...HOLY COW! The food was absolutely great, piping hot, fresh, served with a smile and the best part? CHEAP! I can honestly say that I have had better, but when I did I always paid top dollar, but this place was different. Consequently I've also spent big $$$and got served a hell of a lot worse. At this place I enjoyed every bite from start to finish akin to a fine dining experience instead of "just lunch". Everything was piping hot, breaded and seasoned just amazingly well. I had fried oysters with hand cut fries and veggies. I sampled my wife's juicy bronzed amberjack and twice baked potato, awesome! My daughter had popcorn shrimp with gouda cheese grits, perfect. My sons devoured their grilled cheese and fries so there no was sampling to be done there. The service came with timely refills, she sold us on some key lime pie (gone inside of 30 seconds) and promptly presented the bill which was the most extraordinary part. $44 for a family of 5! (We had waters) For the price I've never had better. We live in Fort Walton Beach, and can honestly say we'll be driving to Crestview to eat again and sample the things we didn't have time for this visit.

Ate here after remembering a recommendation from a friend from over a year ago. Started with a cup of the gumbo. Which was very tasty. The main meal was the Mahi Mahi Orleans. Fish had a very nice texture and the cream sauce went well with it. The hush puppies and black eyed peas were both delicious, and the double baked potato was memorable, with its creamy, gooey, mashed potato and cheese filling. Finally, the bread pudding. Which really sent the meal over the top. It was moist and topped with a delicious melted sugar crust. Overall, it was a great meal and I will definitely be coming back.

This was a hidden gem. We wouldn't have stopped except for yelp. Fast service and good food. My husband loved the grits and snapper. I had the crab cakes. Definitely one of the best places to stop. Worth getting off the interstate. Look for it, it is easy to pass. Lots of locals were eating here (a good sign.) Definitely order one of the specials of the day.

Traveling for work Visited based on Yelp recent reviews. Gumbo was outstanding. Ordered a second cup. Entrée was very tasty. Everything was well seasoned by not over seasoned. Definitely recommend. Rene/Waitress was very attentive. She anticipated needs before ask. She is definitely a value to this business. Staff very personable. New ownership October 2013. Gave 4 instead of 5 due to delay in seating. Limited seating but worth the wait.

Good homemade food! Fresh fish cooked just right and tasty vegetables. The Gouda cheese grits are yummy. Get the key lime pie, but pass on the bread pudding.

While traveling restaurants can be hit or miss. This was a definite hit. A little bit from hwy. Nice clean establishment. Mahi mahi Orleans was so delicious. Bronzed grouper sandwich so delicious no tartar sauce needed. Staff very friendly & kind. Would definitely come back.

Do not go for the ambiance, go for the food. I had one of the daily specials, which was the "whole flounder" ($13.99). I ordered it fried with coleslaw and black eyed peas. It also came with 2 hush puppies. The flounder was good and I liked that the coleslaw was crispy and not too soggy with mayo. The black eyed peas were the best I have ever eaten and I LOVE black eyed peas. My boyfriend had grilled shrimp platter with fries and coleslaw. He said it was all very good and lots of shrimp for the $15.99 cost. They have 3 wines on the menu, all for $3.49/glass and the beers were equally as cheap. They have a "fish market" inside also to purchase fresh fish, sides, etc.

Maybe I went on a off night or maybe my bar is just too high but I found the food here to be unremarkable. Like other posters, it was getting a bit late and I was on I-10 with nary a clue what my dining options were. Based on reviews, I gave this place a shot. No, it's not upscale (come on, it's next to an auto parts store) and it is a seafood market as well as a restaurant but it's better than fast food. I will say that the service was very good which I always appreciate but I can't say that I'd make the effort to return if I was in the area.

Good fresh seafood. They will cook what you pick from the market side. The atmosphere is casual. The gumbo my husband had was good.

We used to eat here when we lived in Crestvegas years ago. We still come back when we are in town 8 years later. So delicious and fresh. The soups and chowders are the BEST on a rainy winter day. Get off I-10 for this and skip the fast-food.

Great find in the middle of chain restaurants! Waitress Shauna took great care of us. We all had different dinners from ribeye to shrimp, grouper, crab and it was really good bronzed spices were great. Even if you think you don't like grits you gotta do the southern thing and dive in the Gouda grits are amazing. Black eyes peas and hush puppies were truly southern and tasty! Got right in on Saturday night party of 6 no sweat gumbo is a must have as good as running to Louisiana!!

Tiny little place that I actually drove by. Gumbo was great and fish was super fresh but the grits were cold and clumpy. Service was fast and friendly. I would recommend if in town.

What a find on my business road trip! This casual Restaurant is attached to a seafood market. I had a grilled entrée and my coworker had some tasty fried fish. Both were very fresh and tasty home cooking. The green beans were overcooked for my liking but my mother-in-law would've been very pleased with them. Much better than any of the chain options in the area.

We came here while on a weekend beach trip. They had a fried grouper sandwich which is always a plus for me. All in all I was satisfied with the food here. Not one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever gone to, but for the price and considering the location you can't go wrong. They usually have a fish of the day which varies apparently.

Love the seafood market part. Fresh fish. They will make special orders for you. Great smoked tuna as well. The dinner prices are a bit too much for the size of the platter. The grilled fish on salad it fairly priced and good. I will keep going to the market for my seafood and the lunch menu is reasonably priced.

This place was kind of decent when it was Fishnet. It has now changed hands and sadly is now horrible all the way around. The service is horrible, the food is horrible and when we spoke with the owner, he was very defensive and argued and would not listen even when he was informed of the multiple people who had walked out since we had sat down. This review is not from one visit as I will not judge a place as such on just one visit. We actually gave this place 3 chances and it was the same every time. See you on Restaurant Impossible, if you are lucky.

This is a seafood diner place. Fresh seafood cooked to order. Fast service, friendly staff. Simple but nicely decorated. They have all fresh fish. Gumbo Soup was excellent. Grilled fish is one of the best you ever tasted.Maybe some dishes have bit too much salt. Other than that it's great.

Very good place for seafood. Found this gem on the way to Mobile, AL. Glad to have stopped by. Friendly service, delicious fresh fish, and wonderful specials. Wish we had more of these types of places in Miami. WIll definitely be back on the next roadtrip if we pass through there.

I am not from the area but was lucky enough to stumble upon this seafood restaurant on my drive back home from Texas. The atmosphere is casual but the food is amazing. There is a nice list of the catches of the day which can be grilled, blackened, or fried. Each catch of the day comes with two sides and hush puppies. I got the cheese grits and coleslaw as my sides. The coleslaw was a bit bland for my taste but the cheese grits were perfect. Everything came out hot and fresh and the portions were very generous. To top it off I had a slice of the homemade keylime pie which is a must.

Very fresh seafood, well prepared, fabulous friendly helpful service. I recommend blackened fish, rice pilaf, cheese grits. Not far off I10, well worth a stop. We found this restaurant on a yelp search heading east, pulled in at 7:30 and had our food by 7:45. Warning : they close at 8:00! They happily let us sit to finish put meal though. We will be back.

Old dirty place, some of the food was pretty good but that was negated by the horrible service experience and extremely rude manager. I have never been this mistreated in a restaurant I will never go back. It was a waste of my money!

I'm from Texas and I was there on business. The hotel told me about this place and we went there and they were right. Great food, family owned and operated. The gumbo is some of the best I have ever tasted. If you are there please try the crab pasta, you will love it. All of the fresh fish entries are great and you have them done the way you want them. It was so good I took a party of 8 back there the next night.
