I grew up going to this place and I almost fell off my chair when I sat down and saw the prices on the menu. Are they joking? 17 dollars for fried catfish? 27 dollars for a seafood platter with tiny pieces of shrimp and fish? This is the Florida backwoods, not Boston. Sad to say that this place is no longer worth patronizing. The prices are astronomical, the portions are tiny, and the food is not as good as it used to be (overly salty, greasy, etc.). Sad.

This is one of those places we have meant to visit for a while. We ended up here to celebrate an anniversary, although the only really celebratory aspect is how far from home this place is. Great seafood (steak not so much, but it IS called Spring Creek not Spring Ranch!) and old Florida charm. Chad's wonderful pen and ink drawings deserve a close up view - after the appropriately tangy key lime pie of course!

This was one of my favorite places while I was living in Tallahassee. It's a great place to take visitors and my family loves it. I've only been here three times and I always got the same thing - AYCE fried catfish and quail ($12). They bring out two catfish and two quail during the first round and you can place additional orders if you want more. They are freshly fried and so yummy! It's a great deal and comes with grits, coleslaw, and hush puppies. You can also opt for the salad and use their delicious homemade ranch. My boyfriend has gotten the softshell crab sandwich and loved it, although the portions seem to be small for the price. My brother wasn't too happy with his steak, but Spring Creek is known for its seafood, right? Service has been great each time and the staff is very friendly. The place is charming overall.

Southern Living Magazine recently recommended this southern gem. Service is excellent, and I couldn't find anything wrong with anything our group ordered. Worth the drive!

I live in Tallahassee and I don't tell people about this place much because it is my knockout punch. What if you were a bit restless and wanted to take a drive to the water and somehow you ended up at Spring Creek and ate the best fish your lips could eat. The service is wonderful because the people who work there are wonderful. Show off and take somebody here.

I grew up coming here. My dad is friends with the owner. I went back recently to try it again. The inside had not changed one bit. The prices had. I dont know why it is so expensive now. They havent put one penny into the restaurant itself. I ordered a charbroiled fish dish and it was small and unimpressive. I drug my friends there telling them what a great place it was from my childhood. I was disappointed and I wont be returning.

This place is a hidden jewel of a restaurant at the end of Hwy 365 in a fishing hamlet on Apalachee Bay known as "Spring Creek." Here you'll find some ramshackle fish houses and small homes overgrown by sprawling live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, and sabal palms scattered about. Spring Creek Restaurant is a local favorite and also a destination restaurant for Tallahasseeans who have "inside information" on where to get the best seafood in the area. The family that owns the restaurant has for many generations fished the local waters and bring in the very freshest seafood to serve in their restaurant. Succulent soft-shell crab, mullet, flounder, snapper, shrimp, scallops - everything here is prepared wonderfully. The light batter locks in the juicy flavor of the super-fresh seafood. Stuffed bacon-wrapped shrimp is a house specialty. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quaint and serene. It's a converted old house that really takes you back in time. Hardwood floors and walls, dimly lit in the evenings. Yet the dress code is "come as you are" casual. Make sure to go for the "house ranch dressing" with the salad, which is homemade and served in wine bottles. It goes well with the super crisp lettuce, green onions, and wonderfully ripe tomatoes. All the ingredients come in a large bowl and you mix the salad together from scratch. Great way to start off the meal. All of the desserts are made in house. The key lime pie is absolutely perfect. Of all my years of living in the Southeast and loving fresh fried seafood, this is the second-best restaurant I've found in this genre (only topped by the Wreck in Mt. Pleasant, SC).

If only the wait staff was as good as the food. However, the last visit left a lot to be desired of both. We were a group of 7, which the waitress was unprepared for. I asked if the stone crab claws were all you could eat, she didn't know, but I wanted them any way. To my dissappointment they were hard to get out of the shell, making me take forever to eat. When everyone in my party was done and we were waiting on the bill, she asked if I wanted more because they were all you could eat! Ugh! I guess that's how they portion control the all you can eat, make them take forever to eat. Overall, the portions for the price are very small. We were all dissappointed. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Wow! We were referred by a friend, and will be referring more friends. On the outside, it's almost hard to tell it's a restaurant, but the interior is beautifully decorated with all sorts of northern Floridiana. All the food is locally sourced and extremely fresh. As the owner says when he comes to shake your hand and introduce himself, they can "tell you the name of the person who caught your fish." The wait staff is very prompt, helpful and friendly. The food is amazing (try the homemade salad dressing!), the prices are quite reasonable, the atmosphere is great and you're made to feel like you're a welcome guest in someone's home. I wish we lived closer, we'd be regulars!

I'm an Ohioan living in Tallahassee for about 6 months. I wanted to take advantage of having fresh seafood, and several persons recommended Spring Creek. While my family was in town visitIng, we ate here. We were all very pleased with our meals. Among us, we ordered shrimp, crab cakes, steak, catfish, etc. and all were well cooked/seasoned. We all really enjoyed the garlic butter and crackers... so simple but quite delicious. Finally, we shared a slice of key lime pie and chocolate peanut butter pie, both of which were scrumptious. Overall good service and nice atmosphere. A little pricey but considering the quality of the food well worth it.
