Went to check out this place since I love Spanish food. Thought their food was ok, but nothing to brag about. They do give you good portions and service was friendly. Had white rice with white beans, ropa vieja and carnitas. I will go back to try their sandwiches and cuban coffee.

Great sandwich, very fast got it to go. Troy was there, great attitude and personality. This "gringo" will be back. Try the beans and rice: excellent.

holy cow! or whatever it would be in Spanish actually. lucky Clermont to get a place like this. unfortunatly you won't be stumbling upon this place, you gotta want to find it and then look for it. dark windows at the end of the complex. the location could be better but the food probably couldn't be. wow whatever special of the day he has is up front, chicken and pork are usuals and today was beef stew Cuban style, again wow. i just had him load up whatever he thought i'd like as sides- yucca, yellow rice and black beans and plantains. o and you gotta get the caffe con leche. 10$ buys all that and a guava pastry for a smashing lunch. i'll try to post a photo of the daily specials. these are the places i hope survive, forget those chains.

Over the course of quite some time, this place has become one of my favorite spots in Clermont. Everything I had is very good. From the Cuban sandwich to Saturday's Ropa Vieja, there is something on the menu for every one. I would have to say may favorite items are between the Ropa Vieja, with its perfect sauce and tender shredded beef, and the roast pork. The sides are fantastic as well. The sweet plantains are amazing. they hit that perfect note that just wants to keep eating more and more of these. You also have your choice normally between three different types of rice (white, yellow or dirty) several types of beans (Black, white and this one mix that is just awesome. White beans, with bits of the roast pork in a sauce that's just really really good.) The daily specials are great, and I like how parts of the menu rotate daily. This almost forces you to try something new and find more to enjoy. Pair it up with a Materva or Jupiña and its a great little meal. The staff are all very friendly, the service is quick and the ingredients are top notch. Everything tastes like it uses very fresh ingredients, and all the meat used is naturally raised and hormone free. To get quality of ingredients like this with such a affordable price, is really unheard of now days. I really cant say enough good things about Troy's, so please do yourself a favor and try it for your self.

OMG. By far, the best Cuban sandwich we ever had. Just a little place but packed with flavor. The staff was so friendly. Most everyone said it all in their reviews. We will be back.

Disappointed. After reading all the reviews, I was excited to know there was a Cuban restaurant in Clermont, but after living in Miami and cooking Cuban food myself, I was sorely disappointed. I experience all the restaurants I review at least twice (anyone can have a bad day) unfortunately, Tonys didn't do so well either time. 1st visit, I got the rope vieja, the flavor was excellent but the meat was dry AND the yellow rice was under cooked and crunchy.....never a good thing. My 2nd visit, I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich, simple egg, cheese and cuban sausage on pressed cuban bread, well, it took 20 min to get it and diners that came in after me and sat at tables were served 1st. I had to request my money back so I could get back to work before I saw the kid in the kitchen start flyin' pans around to get my sandwich. When I did get it, the egg was burnt, the cheese was cold and not melted....and 20 min for that!!!! Na, don't think I'll be back.

I love some Cuban cuisine and this is the best in Clermont, give them a try and see what I am talking about. You can thank me when you're done. I love it. I'm of Cuban descent and this is like my grandmother used to make. Our favorite place for Cuban, the black beans are delicious and the ambiance is nice. Check them out. I will be back!

Growing up in a Cuban family in South Florida, I've definitely had my fair share of Cuban food and with that being said, this place passes the test. I stopped by for lunch today and ordered their Chimichurri Steak Sandwich; it was very tasty. The bread was firm enough to not become soggy, yet soft enough to remain easy to chew on. It was filled with perfectly marinated pieces of steak and topped off with lettuce, tomatoes and shoestring potato sticks. This sandwich was really good, absolutely not what I expected to find in Clermont! Now although I really enjoyed my meal, I'll be trying out a few other of their options when I return. They had several sandwiches along with several platters which consisted of a choice of rice, choice of beans, choice of sides and a meat. In addition to their meals, they offered a variety of pastries and a few beverages (Jupiña-Materva) which you typically only find in Hispanic restaurants/markets. The food was great and the service was friendly; I will definitely return.

After a quick visit to the local doctors office, I knew I needed something to eat before the next round of doctors and pulled out my phone... asked Yelp what was near... and Troy's Cuban Deli was at the top of the list. Troy's is tucked away in the corner of a small retail area and holds maybe 30 people or so. Once inside, It was busy with a number of customers and it was already 2 pm or so. I was greeted by a friendly young lady who asked how I was doing and could I explain anything to me. I read over the board with her selections and was torn between the cuban sandwich or the steak sandwich. Both looked great and I grew up with a cuban mom so I knew how each one should taste... but I went with the Steak sandwich. After a short 5 min wait, they brought me out my sandwich and it looked great... and it tasted even better. I was very happy with the quality of the food... the look of the food... and the service was friendly and quick. The place was busy the entire time I was eating. People coming in for take out orders and even a large group of ladies who had no idea what anything was but the staff explained it all so they could eat. I will have to try Troys out again soon and get that cuban sandwich or the Media Noche sandwich.... yum.... Atmosphere = 7 Service = 9 Food = 9 Sure wish they had some cuban/spanish pastries to enjoy... Enjoy!

I drive 25 minutes just to get this delicious Cuban food! I love being able to support a small local business. The staff is always friendly and patient while I'm ordering. Even if the line is long, it moves fast as the staff is very efficient. The portions are pretty generous. I love the Cuban sandwiches here. The plantain chips are always fresh and crispy. Also the rice and beans are authentic and never disappoint me. Make sure you either save room for a pastry or take one to go with you. The guava ones are my favorite!

Me wife and I moved up here recently from hialeah and we know good cuban food. I really wanted this place to be good, but it was just okay. I ordered the chorizo burger and thought it was a frita but it was a burger with chorizo on top. But that was my fault for not reading it properly. However, i gave it a try and the burger tasted like it was frozen before and filled with salt. I told the employee when she walked by and asked how my meal was and when I said I wasnt pleased with it, she just said "okay" and walked away without even offering me something else. My wife ordered the pork from their expressed food line. The pork wasnt bad but a little salty. The maduros were very dry. This place is more of a fast food joint then an authentic cuban cuisine. I might give it a try again. But i guess my expectations are very high since i lived in miami.

Pulled pork with rice & beans - right on. A MUST!!! Cuban and Miami sandwiches very good. Must have a dessert and cafe con leche before you leave.

I had the media noche (with legit media noche bread, hard to find) and perfectly browned platanos maduros, all excellent! Portions are at least good if not generous, the creamy mojo dipping sauce is great, and his pastry brought in from Miami looked too tasty to leave behind! Wish I lived closer to this great Cuban place!

Just to set the tone, I don't give a lot of 4 star reviews. I'm a chef so my standards are pretty stern for both service as well as food. My first time here I had the Media Noche, the cuban sandwich on sweet bread and to be honest I was a little disappointed. As far as cuban's go, there wasn't anything special about the ingredients that blew my mind. The meat wasn't particularly moist or flavorful and putting it on sweet bread didn't do much to enhance things. The black beans & rice I got as my side were phenomenal however! The rice was perfectly cooked and the black beans were very nicely seasoned and not cooked to the point that it looked like a pot of chili. On my second visit, this time with my wife, I had the ropa vieja and she had the steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was delicious. The meat this time was nice and moist. The bread was fresh and delicious and the sauce that it's served with was fantastic. She had french fries as her side so nothing special to report there. My ropa vieja was absolutely wonderful! Cooked perfectly to where it shreds nicely with a knife and fork but not so overcooked that it turns in to mush on your plate. The sauce they cook it in was rich and flavorful and bright made the black beans and rice (yes, again) even better. I also got a side of the yucca which was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. While there I got a taste of the picadillo as a preview for my next visit and now I can not wait to go back! The service is always prompt and friendly. I'm greeted with a smile and warm welcome each time I go in and for me that makes a huge difference. I'm always critical about service when I go out to eat because I truly believe outstanding service can help rescue a dinner of food that's just okay. Granted, Troy's doesn't have table service BUT they still have a great staff that does a wonderful job.

First time coming here I have to say everything is excellente. Troy the owner brought out the food for us. It was fast food is good service is good. I would recommend others to try it out. Family own and operated let's support our local restaurants.

I'm not even finished eating this amazing cuban sandwich for lunch and I'm giving this place 5 stars. Try the cortadito (cuban espresso) for a sweet afternoon pick-me-up. Quick, delicious authentic cuban food in a quick/casual environment. Staff is friendly and helpful. Try this little gem out next time you're in the mood for cuban and in the Clermont area!

Best Cuban food. I've lived in Central Florida since 2005 and have not come across a good Cuban place to eat. Just by chance I came to find Tony's and the outcome was great.

Being a smaller, non-franchise Cuban place with less-than-great interior---I expected the food to be great. Turns out it leaned more toward average. We arrived ~30mins before closing and I believe this affected the food quality. The meat was a bit dry, the banana chips stale-ish, and the rice/beans were meh. The overall freshness typical to authentic Cuban food was just not there. The Cuban sandwich with rave reviews struggled to demonstrate something spectacular to my tastebuds. That said, the other folks in the party enjoyed their meals. Will have to return soon and give it another shot.

Not the best cuban sandwich. They need to take a drive to tampa area and Taste Bracados or Le Semptma in Brandon Fl. Now thats a Cuban Sandwich and I love the Devil Crabs at both. I sure wish someday our area gets a Cuban Resturant that know how to make these good.

Wow!! Holy ropa vieja and guava bread pudding! Four years ago my husband and I went to a food festival in clermont and had the best ropa vieja I had ever eaten. The stall had been so popular that they quickly ran out of their brochures and cards; we hit the stand just after they sent someone to go get more. Though in wrote down the name, I misplaced it...and for four years I have been trying to find it again. Today, my search ended. Thanks to yelp I stumbled into this little, no-frills cafe and was greeted with a friendly smile and the smell of maduros, caldo (white bean soup), and ropa vieja. Magical. I got a lunch platter with all the aforementioned, plus beans and rice. Holy Cuban goodness! I ate half, saved the rest to share with my hubs when I got home, and ordered dessert. I got a tres leches and the house special--warm guava bread pudding with guava sauce. I took bites of each before I got out the door, and my gosh--you will not be disappointed. The tres leches is the dessert against which all other tres leches will be measured. Get it. Get it now. Also, maybe get your stretchy pants on the way out the door. You will need them.

Mmmm, one heck of a Cuban. Good price, friendly staff and tastey eats. It's a bit back from the main road but well worth searching for. Go get yourself a Sammy.

A wonderful idea with delicious food, friendly and clean environment. The desserts and coffees are great too ($1 espresso shots!) The sandwiches come with either fried plantains or shoestring fries and a drink. Will keep coming back!

These guys are such a needed establishment in Clermont. I hate driving all the way to Miami just for some good Cuban food. They got it all right. The flavors and the portions are perfect. The hospitality is GREAT - Troy is always so helpful. They do AWESOME catering too! You have to try it.

Good food, good service, good prices. We had the Cuban and media noche Cuban. Both tasty, although could use a few more pickles. Plantain chips were perfectly cooked. Friendly, fast service. Would return if in the area.

After searching Yelp for the best rated restaurant in Clermont I was surprised to see Troy's at the top... after visiting today I'm not surprised. Hubby's test of a Cuban restaurant is their Cuban.. his rating... the best he's had for over 15 years .. before that a hole in the wall in St Petes ... he said it would be hard pressed to order anything else it was that good I tried the specials of the day.. pork butt, 2 ways.. shredded and cubed, ropa viejo, rice and today's special beans which were gabanzo.. and let's not forget the plantains, EVERYTHING was superb.. in fact this is the first meal out in Clermont I've enjoyed for a long time.. it's hard to get anything here I can't cook better myself.! Troy's only use natural raised chicken and pork with no antibiotics or added growth hormones, which is great.. and everything was super fresh. Great value and makes sure you finish with the cafe con leche... This was out 1st time and we will be back, often! and I will be recommending to everyone.. we need to support this sort of quality and make sure they stay in business

My husband and I just moved to the area and we're looking for non-chain restaurants to enjoy. This is the place to go! The food was delicious and the service was great! I had the chimichurri steak sandwich and it was excellent. I look forward to bringing friends by to enjoy it and trying new things!

I can't say one bad thing about this place. I have lived in Florida for a little over a month and have eaten here 4 times. I love the food. I'm a rice and bean head.

Great size portions! Great value! My husband LOVES the coffee!

  • Jeff H.

Sorry David B.....but if you are a cuban restaurant and can't make a cuban sandwich properly or even better than I can......well then that is sad. The bread was stale, the meat was dry and flavorless and at least marinate and roast a pork loin to slice and put in the sandwich besides the pulled pork. That makes the sandwich. And no pickle? WTF? I will stick to making my own cuban sandwiches at home. Hey maybe I should open a cuban deli? oh did I mention that I am a C.E.C? What kind of a chef are you dave?

    (1)
  • Hank S.

I hate to rate the place so low because I really want to like it. It's a locally owned business and the staff there is very nice. I just can't get past the fact that the food is just not that good. I've tried it multiple times, i've ordered the cuban sandwich, the media noche, I've had the meals. I've dined in and ordered to-go and most everytime I've been dissapointed. I've had good cuban food and I've had great cuban food. And this is Okay cuban food. Unfortunately for me and perhaps fortunate for them they are really the only game in town when it comes to Cuban food in Clermont so I'll probably go back and I'll probably try to like it and I'll probably be dissapointed.

The only problem with this place is deciding what to order. Nice find for being out of town. Had the chimmichuri steak sandwich and WOW!! The flavor was amazing

Just driving down 50 going west and checked Yelp for a non- chain lunch location. We saw Troy's was a 5-star and decided to drop in. OMG, tremendous food, huge portions and prices! I will be back. You have got to eat here - you will NOT be disappointed.

The Cuban is to die for. I have had several items on the menu and have liked it all. The Only thing we didn't really care for is the kids burger. It tasted like a frozen burger. But the kids love the pork and rice I just which thy had a kids portion of it.

Best cuban on the west side of Orlando. I neglected to check in while I was there and didn't realize they had a check in offer, so I didn't get to save $5 :( Anyway, I got a cuban sandwich and it was delicious. Their plantains are perfectly prepared-- not overcooked like many places, not rubbery-- perfect. I ordered a spinach empanada and it was awful. I should have ordered chicken as I know I like those; spinach just doesn't lend itself to empanadas as well as chicken or beef. My wife got rice and beans and said they were excellent. I'd like to try some more of their dishes, so I'll be coming back and using the check in offer for sure.

Little cafe at the end of a strip mall, so it is easy to miss. So make sure you look for their colorful open signs and "Come on in". You'll be greeted by friendly counter staff. He explained the menu and walked us through each step of ordering. Kind of has it set up so you can see each food but not so that the customers can touch it. He has all the traditional Cuban foods like pressed sandwiches, black beans, rices and a few neat twists- his ribs were so tasty (flavored with a mango sauce) that it really dwarfed all the other foods in flavor. I tried the Cuban hamburger - pressed patty with chorizo, carmelized onions, potato sticks and it was delicious. Well, sort of, I actually really wanted his mango ribs more than my burger at this point. I had the homemade plantain chips with the burger - just the right blend of sweet, fried and salty. Next time, I will look for the ribs on the food bar and make sure to see what he has over there before I order off the menu. Very friendly and even asked if we were local and really seemed pleased that we enjoyed the meal. We will be back. Just for those mango ribs. Second time: had the shredded marinated turkey with onions and capers. Just incredible. I've noticed that he has the meat is all hormone free and anti-biotic free. Just a great place for a delicious, healthy, tasty meal. Third time: the pulled pork - like the turkey much better, but it's pretty tasty.

My parents have a house around the corner from Troy's we stop in every time we make a trip to FL to visit them. You can't go wrong at Troy's my wife and I usually get a couple empanadas to eat while we sip a beer and wait for the sandwiches. So far we haven't had anything we didn't like. Recomendation: Empanada, a beer and a Cuban sandwich

Finally!! Cuban Food in Clermont! They offer daily specials which are usually less than $7 and include a drink. The food is typical: rice, beans, ropa vieja, maduros etc, etc. But if you want Cuban food then that's exactly what you're looking for. It's family owned, the owner is a professionally trained chef, wife's on the register and daughters helping out. Food is good, service is great and the prices are even better. Plus I dont have to drive miles to get it. Located inthe Gators Dockside Plaza off of 50 and they're open from 8 to 8 M-Saturday.

This place was indeed authentic cuban with a pleasant experience. The Cuban sampler was amazing. My wife and I ordered the bistec empanizado and the in-laws had the picadillo. It was their first time eating cuban food and they enjoyed it. The prices were extremely reasonable and the service was friendly. I had some cafe con leche to finish up an outstanding meal.

Best Cuban food in the area, that includes Orlando. The pulled pork is always juicy and flavorful. My favorite is the Ropa Vieja. Tender shredded beef with peppers and onions. If the black bean chili is being served that night get a little of it over your rice.Their sandwiches are just as good. Grilled chicken with mojito is wonderful. Our son who is really picky loves it. This is a weekly dinner stop for us, sometimes twice a week. Troy and Joey and the rest of the staff are always accommodating and friendly. If you like spicy sauces, ask for their homemade habanero sauce. It is the best sauce I have ever had. Very spicy but with a wonderful flavor that bursts throughout the spiciest.

The Cuban and south beach sandwich were both great. Plantain chips were nice and crisp. The garlic sauce on the side was magical... I dipped everything in it... Guys that work here are also pretty cool and friendly.

OMG! A real, honest to goodness Cuban Restaurant right here in my back door (Winter Garden)! I'm sooo happy. Having lived in Miami for ten years, Cuban food is what I yearn for here in the Orlando area. For those who have never tried traditional Cuban comfort food, never fear. It's not spicy (hot), but, at it's best, it is flavorful with a healthy dose of garlic in most dishes. Troy's is authentico Cuban. The only drawback was they didn't serve traditional mojito on the side. Mojito is served as an accompaniment, made of pulverized garlic, onion and lime juice which you can drizzle over meats and veggies alike. My daughter and I tried Troy's recently. She had bistec empanisado (breaded and deep fried thin steak), with rice and black beans served with heavenly maduros (fried ripe plantains). Mmmmm! I had the roast pork with yellow rice and brown beans. Cooked to perfection. The portions were hu-normous. We both brought half our lunch portions home in a box. Most Cuban food is even better when re-heated; something about the spices used. We finished it off by splitting a great guava & cream cheese pastel (puff pastry). Troy's was a great find. It's located in a small space in a strip center, very casual atmosphere. We will definitely be going back for our "Cuban Fix" and strongly recommend Troy's to all.

This place is cool. Good Cuban food, great service, and excellent Cuban espresso. There's always a special, and there's plenty of veggie options for hippies like myself. I recommend the cuban breakfast with yucca hash. GOOD STUFF! Also, the guava pastries are awesome. We are proud to have this place in our city!

We were happy to find this restaurant tucked away in a corner of a strip mall on Highway 50 in Clermont. We had wonderful Cuban sandwiches here. We didn't have the appetite that particular evening to go all in for big entrees, but the chicken and pork and sides looked, and smelled, so good that we have resolved to have a proper dinner here during our time in town. We also loved the artwork and music, and the uptempo personality of our counter person, who was a great salesperson as well as a gracious host.

Food is outstanding and the staff is extremely nice. My wife and I have tried just about everything on the menu and you cant go wrong with what you order. Our favorite is the pulled pork w/ rice and beans. Cuban sandwich is also great!!! They make their own hot sauces that are a nice addition to the food. If you live in Clermont, you have to try Troy's. If you are on a budget, then this is your place b/c the amount of food you get for the the price you pay is well worth it.

We were in town for a triathlon and wanted to try some Cuban food. Read the reviews, and gave this place a try. We have not had a lot of Cuban food before, but since we were in Florida it seemed like a good choice. The person who helped us when we first came in gave us the run down on the food they have. We went with the pork, plantains, brown rice, and beans. The pork was very good, and the home made hot sauce was sweet and hot, and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.

I come here mainly for the coffee. The $2 cafe con leche to be exact. Oh, and the fresh guava and cheese pastries are insanely good. Me gusta!

We enjoyed trying this place. Food was pretty good and the service was superb. The owner is super friendly and joyful. I don't recommend their desserts. I'm more of a homemade dessert chick, but the taste of theirs was not so good.
