This is a great place with a wonderful owner/family running it! The food is very tasty with good portions, excellent value for your money. Don't forget the small grocery area attached to it, they offer high quality meats at a very good price. This place is one of the best values in Clermont, a real sleeper

I've been driving past this place ever since they opened and kept wondering how they were, so yesterday I decided to give them a try. I got their lunch special (meat, rice, beans, and fried plantains). I saw that they had lemonade on their drink menu, and I asked if they made it themselves. I was told they did, so I got that too. The meat that I got (some kind of stewed chicken with onions and peppers) was very tender and flavorful. The yellow rice was okay, nothing to write home about, and it took me by surprise to see green beans in it (I expected the peas that were in it). I added the liquid from my chicken and gave it a better flavor. I got the red beans. What a mistake that was! There was zero seasoning, not even salt! Very bland and inedible. The plantains were okay for what they were; plantains have never done a whole lot for me. The lemonade was VERY disappointing. It tasted like they'd made it with lemons that were on the verge of going bad, and I couldn't finish it. So other than the chicken, nothing had good flavor, so there isn't anything that would bring me back.

This is a very good local restaurant. Food is fresh and everyone is friendly. Lunch specials are good with nice size portions. Can't go wrong with any item you choose. Definitely a must visit!

Great service, clean and friendly. They serve Hispanic food as well and the prices are reasonable.

They have true authentic food such as sopes, tacos de lengua and tamales. Our waitress Abigail was very helpful when it came to ordering. The natural fruit juices are amazing!! Definitely worth coming back over and over.

I had high hopes after reading the reviews, but was very dissapointed. They have moved down the street into their new location, which is a good size. Yes, they are extremely warm and friendly...I just wish the food was hot & cooked more to order. They have a hot bar with pre made food and that's ok, bit we wanted to try the "taqueria" style items. My husband ordered a burrito and they pulled the ingredients right off the hot bar, rolled Into a cold tortilla and called it a day. Meat ratio was very little and rice, beans, were cold. I ordered a sope and tacos al pastor. Sope was cold and crunchy like a tostada & it should not be! And pastor meat was definitely not Al pastor. It was basically just a stewed pork flavor and everything felt room temperature. There was only one other table, so I think they could have taken the time to make a good impression & at least warm up the items, especially when there seemed to be plenty of help in the kitchen. They did have a very good red spicy salsa that we enjoyed, but chances are we won't be back which is a shame! My husband and I are both Mexican and know food, so we are longing for a good location here in Clermont...but haven't found anything to our standards.

There is no reason to go anywhere else for authentic Mexican and Latin food. It is like walking into your abuelita's home and seeing a plate of ALL your favorite dishes. Everything is perfectly priced. You can't beat it. I was on my way to the post office in the morning and saw them open. I did not even know they were open for breakfast. WOW. I had a breakfast plate with eggs and beans. It may look a bit run down on the outside but TRUST me...this food is better than any other place around here hands down. This should be on TRIPLE D for sure. I am shocked that there is only one other review for them. I will make an effort to tell everyone about this place. Or maybe I should keep it a secret :) _________________________ I added cool smileys to this message... if you don't see them go to: s.exps.me

Good little hole in the wall.have a few dishes to choose from and the same goes for the rice.the only set back is the food thats served is already made like buffet style,so its warm not hot.overall a good place to eat for cheap.

From the outside this place looks like a total dive. It's actually right next to a gas station and I admit to being a little bit weary about trying it at first but looks can be deceiving and this place is worth a try. I ate here for the first time tonight and the food was fresh, authentic and the tacos were only $1.25 each! Try the al Pastor, out of the 3 meats I had that was by far my favorite. If you have and aversion to spice ask for no onions, the ones they use are a little spicy.

I went for breakfast burritos, but left with more! We were driving by this weekend and realized we were passing the place friends had recommended. We turned in and ordered. While I have to say it looks shady from the outside, the staff was welcoming and the men sitting at the café bar all smiled and were welcoming. The food was fresh and the three of us downed our breakfast. Before leaving we grabbed some pork tamales and sweet plantains for later. SO HAYY WE DID. This place is the real deal. I'm from New Mexico and this is the closest thing I can find to "home cooking." They even have hot green sauce which is usually served sweet in Central Florida. I'll be back! The only mistake was on my part as I didn't get beans in my burrito...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
