If you live in the Clermont/Winter Garden area and like Indian food, you should check out Guru! This food is the best Indian food in the Orlando area. Everything is great, highlights would be the Shrimp Korma and Lamb Vindaloo. The spices are very fresh. The staff are attentive and friendly. So glad to have found such a great restaurant in Clermont!

This is my second visit to Guru in the last 2 months. The first time I was presently surprised that a good indian or anything was to be had in Clermont. I don't know if they changed or I was in need of something finally good to show up in in Clermont or what. 1st rule of having return custom- never ever use frozen vegetables Frozen vegetables will piss off customers. It may work on I drive where the the word indian on the door will draw in the herds of people visiting from the UK, but to do this in a market and piss poor location where you will need repeat clientele. Next time I want to eat mediocre indian. I will go to Publix, buy some random jar of curry throw it in a sauce pan and chuck a bunch of frozen mixed veg, heat it up and be delighted with my $1.75 meal that taste better. Some other notes, My nann seemed to be left over buffet nann.it did not seem to be made to order, it was flat an lifeless. The curries seemed to be a little sweeter than usual, with a pungent vinegar taste. I will try them again, maybe, only because the restaurants here are atrocious and that's what I do, go from one atrocious restaurant to another, with the hope that one day I will be able to enjoy a good meal out.

Excellent restaurant. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever recommend. They use the highest quality chicken and can accommodate anyone who likes mild or spicy foods. Everything is always fresh and amazing. I have not found a restaurant as good as this in Clermont. I Would would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Friendly staff and great food. We are happy to know that there is an Indian restaurant in Clermont now and it is worth going to! The owner greeted us at the table and was very friendly. The chef even came out to ask how the food was. I tried a mango yogurt drink and that was delicious it helped with the heat of the spices! (Wish it was a little colder but yummy) They are located by Graffiti Junction on Hwy 27.

Best Indian Restaurant in Clermont! Owner was original Indian Restaurant owner in Orlando and it is exciting he has opened a place out of the big city. They also serve several continental foods to feed all the picky eaters in your family! Great place and atmosphere, glad I found this place!!!!

If you have not been here yet, you need to go! Beautiful restaurant, absolutely amazing food and fantastic service. I had Chicken Hyderabadi and Garlic Naan and they were both out of this world! My wife wasn't to familiar with the menu and the host asked her what she liked and he gave a shrimp dish that can only be described as amazing. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the usual chain food that Clermont offers.

Just enjoyed my birthday dinner with family. My eight year old son loved the food and my eighty year old grandmother loved it as well. Uday is a very accomodating and social owner. I have noting bad to say everything was just perfect and will certainly return.

I was so fearful to try Floridian Indian food because I have been so disappointed by the food quality down here in Florida since moving from New England last year, but I was pleasantly surprised! I have missed Indian food more than any other food this past year and am thrilled to find an awesome, local Indian restaurant. All of the interaction with them was very pleasant - from ordering take out over the phone to picking it up, they were very friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but they have a very nice place with a beautiful patio for out door seating. I did notice they have beer available, not sure about other drink options. The food was FANTASTIC! No complaints! We ordered the Guru Vegetarian Platter, the Chicken Korma, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Rogan Josh, Naan, and Garlic Naan. All of it was delicious. (My favorite was the Chicken Korma... so creamy and delicious... I actually just ate the rest of it cold for breakfast... I couldn't wait until lunch!) We ate take out last night and are eating the left overs throughout the day today, but my husband is already asking if we can go there for dinner tonight!

West siders, rejoice: we finally have an Indian restaurant worth visiting. I may be a little late to the show as this place has been open for a year now, but I just found out about it and I'm quite disappointed I didn't know about it much sooner. Guru is very close to Graffiti Junktion and if you would rather go to GJ than get some delicious indian food, shame on you. I've had a few dishes from here; their naan is excellent and they have four varieties (normal, garlic, onion, and one with raisins in it which is awesome). I've had two of the chicken dishes- Tikka Masala and Korma. Korma was one of the best indian dishes I've had anywhere. Tikka Masala wasn't bad, but Korma was really, really good. Lots of bold flavor, a bit of spice but not too much, and throw in some well cooked basmati rice and an order of naan and you have a dynamite meal. My plan was to get each chicken dish so I could try them all but I don't know how I'm ever going to make myself get anything other than korma again.

Had a magnificent lunch at Guru today composed of the baby lamb for me and the chicken vindaloo for my husband. Everything was spot on. I couldn't recommend Guru enough. If it were a movie, it would be Citizen Cane. Check it out today!

Love, love, love Indian food! We had our favorite place in Pittsburgh, PA [the Taj Mahal - INCREDIBLE FOOD!] So I was really craving Indian food and was excited about finding an Indian restaurant here in town and took a family friend who was visiting from California. [This was back in February.] The prices were high and the food was a real disappointment. The lamb was flavorless and I was told it was because it was from the leg and that's the way it is. My friend and I shook our heads in disbelief. But the plate was quickly taken away and replaced with something else that was so-so. To top things off, our waitress acted like she didn't know the menu and then she'd forget to show up and wait on us. It was expensive and disappointing. We haven't been back.

Ate here for the first time today. Had lamb bhuna and garlic naan. It was delicious. Will definitely be back. Only wish they were open for lunch during the week with smaller portions and prices.

I didn't know there was Indian food in Clermont! I was so excited when I saw this place. As soon as we walked in the owner rushed over, greeted us and showed us to a table. We started with the vegetarian platter which was amazing! I'm not sure which was better between the paneer pakora or the spinach pakora. Both were unreal. For dinner we ordered the bhindi masala, veggie jalfrazie and garlic naan. I eat Bhindi Masala at every Indian restaurant and Guru's Is definitely in my top 5. Both dishes are served with a healthy portion of basmati so it's really good value for the price. Plus the garlic naan is freaking amazing. Highly recommend Guru Restaurant to anyone who loves Indian or is looking to try something new and delicious.

We are so happy to have Uday's talents here in Clermont. The food is deliciously seasoned from a menu that has every Classical Indian selection you would expect. The Chai tea was made fresh to order and there is Indian beer on offer as well as wine. You will return here again and again for the curry! Welcome Uday and Pam!

Indian food has FINALLY found a solid home in Clermont!!! Uday and his staff offer the city's best Indian fare at a reasonable price and wonderful selection. The restaurant can be found adjacent to Grafitti Junction and offers indoor and outdoor seating. Couple that with ample parking, and a wonderful assortment of appetizers and entrees and you have a recipe for success. I have already told 5 of my closest friend that if they are craving Indian food that THIS is the place!!! I suggest the Peshawari Naan with your main course. And an exquisitely prepared Chicken Korma to make your night complete.

I cannot express enough how much I love this restaurant! The service was fantastic, the food was better than amazing.. I'm already thinking about going back and I'm just pulling out of the parking lot. Clermont was in desperate need for Indian food, and it's better than I could have ever hoped for at Guru!

I was so excited to hear Indian cuisine made its way to Clermont. Just got back from lunch and was very pleased with the service and food. We started with vegetable samosas and they were delicious. They came out piping hot, nice and crisp and full of flavor. My husband got the lamb bhuna....He was very happy. I tasted the sauce and it was delish. Our daughter got the chicken tika which came out on a large, full platter. The chicken was visually tender and equally tasty; great flavor and well cooked. I got the lamb vindaloo....It had some nice heat and the sauce was a good consistency. Garlic nan was great for dipping. Overall an extremely positive first experience. We will certainly be back. Looking forward to it, and the short drive for some awesome Indian food. Hoping the folks of Clermont are ready for this because I really want this business to take off. They are worth the $$. On a side note, they do have a limited American fare menu and also a standard kids menu with chicken fingers and other kid friendly items.

Food was okay, but pricey! My wife had a vegetarian dish and I had a lamb dish, portions were small, we had no drinks, naan bread ala carte and no tip as it was take out, my bill was $43. I did not think it was a good value by any means. We will not be going back.

Hands down the best Indian food in the greater Orlando area. Quaint atmosphere and friendly staff with owners on site. Must try the Garlic Naan bread! You won't be disappointed here.

I am brand new to Indian cuisine so I have nothing to compare to. I just know we tried three appetizers and they were all excellent! We ordered the Guru assorted platter with samosa, chicken pakora and onion bhaji. All tasty. Also ordered chicken Tikka, which was delicious with or without the sauces, and an order of garlic naan. Very friendly staff too. They need an "open" sign on both sides of the building, we thought they were closed at first. A little hard to find because the parking lot is a maze, but worth the search.

I've struggled to find a quality Indian restaurant locally. Food isn't oily and can be made to taste. The setting is charming and the owner is down to earth and almost always present. As an Indian person Im very picky about Indian restaurants, Guru is a great fresh option and is conscious about ingredients and making the fare towards the healthier side. Price is extremely reasonable also.

I am super picky when it comes to Indian food and I love Guru! I'm so glad that we found it upon moving to Clermont. They offer a wide selection of vegetarian dishes as well as meat dishes. The Chicken Tikka Masala is to die for! My husband, who had always said he dislikes Indian food, now loves it thanks to Guru! I only wish they were open for lunch!

After not having any Indian food for months I decided to search for one in my area and found Guru Restaurant. The flavor was exactly what I was looking for and the staff was wonderful. Couldn't recommend anything in particular because it all was so great.
