Have eaten here 3 times and got the cauliflower pizza every time...that's how good it is! Piled high with cauliflower, it is really filling and tasty. I wish they would use just a tad less salt, but I am not a salt person so it could be personal preference. Love the flavor and texture of the crust- tender inside and crunchy outside, like a pizza crust should be. The pizza is a little pricey, but it is pretty big and leftovers are just as good reheated at home. The classic salad was a disappointment. For almost $10, I was expecting something a little more special than a basic salad with some chickpeas on it.

Yum! Everyone raves about this place. I like their pizza but what I LOVE are their balsamic wings with rosemary. They're baked in the same grill as the pizza and are delish! The pizza is good but I didn't love it as much as I had hoped to. Our pizza had toppings though, and everyone suggests plain cheese, next time instead. I'll need to see if its better that way. Definitely will re-visit!

Great Pizza & wings. Lauren, the hostess, was quite friendly. FYI, the pizza ss NOT burnt. I believe the oven is 800 degrees, so the outer crust gets blackened, but the pie is perfect! And the wings are awesome. I don't live in Florida, but will return to Anthony's every time I'm in the area!

Best pizza in town the service is impeccable. I have never had a bad meal here. I would highly recommend this place

Their pizza is so yummy. The crust is thin and the toppings are so original. I love their chicken wings too. They always have drink specials and if you aren' t knowledgeable about beers the staff will guide you in the right direction. Definitely try.

Burnt over-priced pizza. Don't be fooled. It's not grilled or smoked or coal-fired or whatever. It's burnt. That's pretty much all I can say. The salad we ordered was ok. The atmosphere was ok. We got a pizza and a salad to go and it was almost $30...wow. We decided to have a glass of wine at the bar while we waited and the bartender said she'd also bring us some water...which never came. With Marcos and Westshore right around the corner I can honestly say that I will NEVER eat here again.

We love this place. Been there five or six times and have tried many different pizza/food items. The wings are a must have- they are "air fried" I believe and they are plentiful and flavorful. There has always been a manager walking around for each of our visits. They do warn that their pizza is well done, so if that isn't your preference, you may not like it. Our last pizza has procuitto ham and sweet peppers and it was by far my favorite. Anthony's serves a very grown up pizza, using lots of Romano cheese, so younger palates may not appreciate these flavors. Great place to go out for dinner, and plenty of leftovers to come home as well. Wash down your pizza with a nice Malbec wine. Delicious!

Best pizza in Florida. I agree with the other reviews, this is some of the best pizza you will find in the area. It is a little bit different than NY style pizza, but that is ok. The topping are very fresh and the atmosphere is pleasent (execpt for it being located in a shopping plaza).

I am from New York and no one has pizza like they have there UNTIL Anthony's!! We had the best pizza EVER. Been there twice and each time gets better & better. The manager, Dominick came over to our table, talked to us and was very personable. They also have a place in White Plains, New York, which is where I work so as soon as I get back there, I will be trying it there also. The staff is very friendly and very accomodating. You do have to like it well done, if you don't then it may not be for you, but I suggest you try it anyway, you may just be surprised. The salad dressing is also out of this world. Will try wings next time since I heard they are awesome!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

Pizza is AMAZING, service not so much. Don't come here expecting great service, come here for the pizza! Although the wings are good and the salad looked great, you must try the pizza. Coal fired pizza is now my new favorite.

Anthony's Coal-Fired Pizza is a new pizza place that opened recently in Clearwater. After going there, I can say that the pizza here tastes quite good and they have specialty pies as well. The pizzas have a bit of that "grilled" or smoked flavor from how the oven, which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your view. Health-conscious foodies may want to avoid the areas on the crust that are charred. But other than that, check out Anthony's a unique pizza eating experience here in Tampa Bay.

I am so addicted to this place! They have great thin crust pizza that is cooked in a coal fired oven. The toppings are a little limited, but the pizza is so good you don't really want to glom it up with too much anyway. The sauce is perfectly seasoned with nice chunks of tomato. Excellent appetizers including wings (crispy, seasoned with sea salt, rosemary and caramelized onions) broccoli rabe with spicy sausage and the eggplant is AMAZING! My only complaints are that the restaurant is a little noisy and it is a little pricy for pizza. But the food is SO GOOD it's definitely worth it!

This place had the best pizza I've ever had. The crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was the perfect amount of dough too ... not to thick, not too thin. The toppings were DELICIOUS. I highly recommend going with the peppers. I don't normally like peppers, but these were very sweet and added a wonderful compliment to the sausage and pepperoni saltiness. Their sausage was wonderful! I could taste the sage in it. The pizza also wasn't too greasy. When we talked to the manager (who was out and talking to all the customers), he said the difference in their pizza was the ultra fresh ingredients and not overloading it with cheese. (The cheese they use, by the way, is very high quality - not that gummy junk I've had from typical chain pizza places.) The only reason it did not get five stars was because it was very dark in the restaurant and very noisy. It is definitely pricey, but well worth the money. We will make this place our favorite pizza joint now.

The pizza is amazing. We live in Ocala and were planning our trip back before we were done eating. The best by far!

Found this place in Orlando and was glad to know we have one here nearby. This is definitely worth driving from St.Pete for. I have had the famous Grimaldi's pizza in Brooklyn and this is right up there. Best pizza I have had anywhere in this town. Crust is perfect, right balance of crisp and chewy. The toppings are premium ingredients and yes this is a bit more expensive than a Dominos but totally worth it.

Pizza is ok tasting. The crust is definitely burned as it suggests. For the price, Marcos pizza around the corner is wayyyyyy better.

My wife and I came here with very high hopes after hearing from a couple at our favorite wood fired pizza place in palm harbor that this place was better. After trying it out, we were pretty disappointed. The salads aren't even in the same ball park, and the pizza okay at best. Three stars is probably generous, but I can't justify a two. The wait staff was friendly, the environment was okay, but not memorable. I'd eat it again if somebody dragged me there, but I'll never suggest it.

My husband brought me here for the first time (mine, not his). We ordered wings and pizza. I wanted to try the salad because it looked so yummy (next time definately). The pizza was really good. My husband loved the wings! Nice atmosphere, good service...I will go back.

I can't see why anyone would say they have good pizza! We tried it twice and find it to be over priced and bad pizza. I would go to west shore before going back again. Good pizza does not exist in Clearwater.

Pretty good Pizza Joint; great fresh toppings, awesome texture and taste for the crust, I've had better wood-fired pizza but not at any place in Florida. Great Atmosphere; lots of cool pictures and flat screens in the place. Would be a great place to catch a sporting event on TV at if they turned down the music! The pizza is a little more expensive than pizza usually is, but the great facility makes it worth it. One pet peeve, the iced tea is served in sealed plastic jars not fresh brewed, not a show stopper but I like fresh brewed iced tea.

Exceeded my expectations. Hard 2 find good pizza outside NY. Fresh ingredients tasty crust and cooked perfectly. Wings were yummy, and grilled onions were really sweet. Super clean restaurant and service was friendly. Will definately be back.

Small chain, awesome food! My first experience with Anthony's was down in Ft. Lauderdale and I was hooked. I grew up in NYC & I'm a bit of a pizza snob. With that said, Anthony's has totally broken my "no pizza in Florida" rule. They have a multitude of toppings, all completely fresh & delicious. The important thing here people is that this is coal fired pizza which means it's a burning hot oven, not a gas oven. This changes the flavour and cooking pattern of the pie, meaning you may experience some burning of the crust. The pizza is thin, the sauce is flavorful & no matter the topping it's DELICIOUS! They also have wonderful appetizers, I'm partial to the broccolirabe & sausage. The atmosphere is friendly and open, outdoor seating is available (looks out to the parking lot- crap thing about a good place in a shopping center).

Excellent pizza and a great draft selection. Monday night is 1/2 price drafts. The eggplant Marino is excellent. Wings are very good too. Remember everything here is baked in a coal fired oven. I know some don't like that concept, but it's very evident here. If you like coal fired this is an excellent choice. Servers and bartenders are very accommodating and friendly.

Pizza here is blackened on the edges and bottom, leaving a black burned crust that is NASTY. I couldn't finish a single piece of pizza here. Anthony's is worse than not very good, it's gross.

Went here last night, have been to So Tampa one. This McMullen Booth pizza was great. The server was so nice and friendly and very helpful with suggestions. later, the gen manager stopped by to ask if we needed anything. The workers were just so so friendly and VERY helpful, similar to the south Tampa one, but a bit more friendly here. We got three different types of pizza for our group of 4 - they were delicious and cooked perfectly.

It's hard to find good pizza in Florida especially if you are from Boston. This place is quite good. Had the wings and a pizza. Will go back next time I'm in the area.

Anthony's is becoming one of my favorite pizza places, to be sure. I know some people don't like how coal fired pizza gets a little charred on the bottom, but I think that adds to the flavor and makes a nice crispy crust. I've been to Anthony's several times previously but after my last visit I really had to write about it. The eggplant pizza is simply incredible. I love the sweetness of the roasted eggplant, mixed in with the sauce and cheese. The beer selection is also outstanding. There is a wide variety of craft beers, including from local breweries. The service was friendly and prompt, and our pizza came out fairly quickly. My only real complaint (a small one) is that there should be a bigger selection of appetizers. There are some meal sized salads and wings, but I wish they offered bruschetta, Caprese salad, or even just smaller side salads.

Visiting from out of town. Pizza and meatballs were so delicious, and the service so good for dinner, we went back the following day for lunch. If only I could make food so delicious at home....

I tried Anthony's tonight and I must say I was impressed. We ordered a house salad for two which was very fresh and delicious, but the extra charge for the mozzarella was a bit disappointing because of how much they charged vs. how much they served. The waitress did pickup on the fact that I like kalamata olives and brought me extras, so that was a nice touch. Sodas are served in 16 ounce bottles instead of a fountain, which I found a bit odd at first but in actuality I've decided I prefer. The large calzone was huge! This is a thin crust pizza place, so the large calzone is basically a large pizza folded in half. The ricotta and mozzarella cheeses where delicious. The sauce, however, was a bit light and bland. Thankfully it was served on the side. I will come back to try the pizza, but if the calzone sauce is what they use I may be disappointed. They have a couple of sandwiches which looked interesting. I didn't get to try the cheesecake. The waitress didn't offer and I didn't feel like pushing my gastric luck. The atmosphere is very nice with lots of vintage pictures of Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles, even in the restroom which, by the way, are very nice and very clean. So 3 stars for now. It's too early to declare myself a fan, but if you are in the mood for calzone and fresh Italian salad, I can recommend this place.

Great pizza and the best wings in town. Two tips based on my personal opinion, 1. Get extra sauce on the pizza if you like saucey pizza. 2. Tell them to hold the onions when you order the wings, unless you like to dig through a heaping pile of greasy onions to get to your wings. Other than that, great food, great drinks and a nice selection of beers.

  • J B.

Broccoli rabe with sausage - way too much rabe and not enough sausage. Not enough sauce to keep from the dry tasting popping through. Think of sticking a piece of cardboard in a fire and then eating it and you have this pizza down...

Yummy pizza and calzones (big enough to feed three). They have half price pints Monday when we go and staff has always been friendly.

This is a pretty good pizza place, but only if you are in to the coal fired pizza. The restaurant itself is very small, and you can normally expect to wait a while if its around dinner time. The menu isn't bad, and there is a great selection of items. One of the things that I do find annoying is that they do not have refills on drinks and everything comes out bottled. When I got to a sit down restaurant, I expect free refills, especially considering that soda and tea is so cheap to sell in bulk. The food is fairly good. I highly recommend the wings, they bake them in the coal fired oven, which gives them a nice smoky flavor. The wings are not greasy like your normal wings, and they bake them with onions and seasoning right on top. The pizza is good, although I am not a huge fan of the burnt tasting crust that can occur. They have a good selection of tops though, and if you like thinner crispier crusts, you will like the crust. The price isn't bad, and you will normally have left overs. If you want pizza, and you are in the mood for something a little better than delivery, this is a great place to stop in.

The wings here are one of the best in town! They have no need to over saturate in breading and oils - natural flavors. Add the shreds of onions and peppers and the flavor is bursting but simple. A definite must have! You can always ask for a sample and they are happy to provide a wing or two to taste - trust me you will order them after you try them!

The service was great, but the food...yikes. We got the eggplant appetizer and the cauliflower pizza. Both were inedible. The eggplant was basically a pile of eggy- fried mess and the cauliflower pizza were terribly seasoned. In the future we might just try a cheese pizza and see how it goes...

  • Jason P.

I hate this place. The pizza is so un-deserving of any accolades. Topping have no flavor, the cheese is not good quality, no spice or flavor in the sauce at all. The only thing that sets their pizza apart from anywhere else is they burn the pizza. Big deal I can get a better crispier pizza anywhere with more flavor and for a lot less $$$.

  • Ben W.

Anthony's is one of those places where everything should be good, but it just isn't. The cheese is quality, the sauce is delicious, and the toppings are plentiful. However, their tagline says it all: Pizza Well Done. The play on words is actually perfect, but well done in this case should just mean burnt. It's not burnt in that slightly charred way, but just burnt. I asked the chef at a different coal oven pizza restaurant why he thought Anthony's burns their pizza, and he explained that it's very challenging to do coal oven correctly, so they're just selling their weakness as an advantage. I think he's probably right. Regardless, people must like burnt pizza because they're always busy. Service is good, atmosphere is noisy, and the prices are on the high side.

WARNING: If you are originally from the North Eastern US, this is a great bar pie. It's not a pizzaria big foldable slice with orange grease running down you're arm pie, sigh, that doesn't seem to exist here. If you're born here or from the mid west and can even be in the same ROOM with a pie from Westshore, don't bother you won't like this pie. We also shared a salad, great, meatballs, eh and wings which I felt were bland. I was reminded we were on the West Coast of Florida when the waiter asked if we wanted dessert and I asked if they had fresh filled cannoli and he said "What"? It is priced high for pizza but worth it for something that actually not just edible but good.

Love love love this place!!! Been here like 20 times and it's consistently great. If you like pizza "well done" this is the place. Servers are really good too.

HITS: - Great Neopolitan style pizza (that's thin, and cooked at very high heat!) I "made my own" with prosciutto & mushroom (real slices of prosciutto!) - Good lunch specials - Salad was easily enough for three (even though menu says "enough for TWO"); was dressed well (not too heavy) despite the fact that we forgot to order it on the side. - Friendly service MISSES - They seem to only serve beverages in bottles (kind of odd and anti-enviro IMHO).

I'm always on the hunt for good pizza, and when I can't make it to Christino's in Clearwater, Anthony's is where I'll go. When I first went there, the waiter was saying how great the wings are, so he brought me a sample. Awesome! Not your Buffalo style. They're marinated overnight with herbs, cooked in the oven. Skin is crispy and I love the carmelized onions that smother them. I've been here 3 times and I've never had burnt crust, like other reviews had suggested. Pizza is delicious. I really like the sauce. I've gotten mine topped with Arugula (huge leaves). I squeeze a little lemon on top and POW, deliciousness! If you're tired of getting pizza from Westshore, Papa Johns, or -gulp- Domino's, or too far away to go to Christino's, Anthony's is the way to go.
