As far as Chiefland goes there isn't a lot of choices of actual restaurants, this is however one of the better ones. The food is good and the service has always been great. They have the best salad bar in town.

Was in Chiefland on a business trip. While the place is quite depressing (Chiefland that is), food is excellent anywhere in town. I loved the genuine BBQ taste and the price. That's my destination during my next visit to Chiefland!

This was another stop on my grand stay in Cheifland for work. After checking in to the local Day's Inn (see review), my associate and I were starving and it was gas stations and fast food as far as the eye could see. We saw this and Noodle House as we came in and asked the front desk clerk her thoughts. She immediately advised to stay clear of Noodle House and suggested this place. The first thing we noticed about the place was how cheap the food was. My buddy and I got a huge BBQ sampler with basically every meat they had, 3 sides, and a trip to the salad bar for about $20 each. They do not skimp on the portions here. I'll break things down by my impressions: Meats- Pretty terrible. They were a bit greasy and didn't have that nice smoked flavor. Salad Bar- One of the best fucking salad bars I've ever experienced. Sides- The baked beans were the best I've ever had. Also, this place had the friendliest staff I'd encountered in a while. Overall, the place wasn't bad. It's sad that you stop in at a BBQ place and the best things you have are the salad and sides. If you're ever in Cheifland, give it a try. There's not much to choose from and the price and portions are right, just don't expect BBQ heaven. However, do expect baked bean heaven and you won't be disappointed.

Very average mediocre place. Meat is cold. Onion rings are cold still frozen in middle. Beans are good but the serving size is about a tablespoon.

Deep fried bacon, great service, delicious biscuits, and amazing pancakes. The second best breakfast spot ever.

This place is slightly above average. Nothing is bad but nothing sticks out either. I've been here at least 15 times. The grilled chicken sandwich is okay and so is the salad bar. They have pretty good texas toast and most of the sandwiches are decent. It's a good choice in a town with limited choices.

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Casual atmosphere, good service and great food. Bathrooms were very clean and even had hot water. Good value for the money. What more could you ask for. Next time I will go for the well prepared salad and potato bar. Fast service too so you can get in and back on the road in no time flat.

I have tried this place out 3times to give it a fair chance ..... And well each time my food has been subpar ... Bbq fries had virtually no meat the first time I ate here, the salad bar was decent however their Mac n cheese and chili could use some flavor and the last time I went I ordered the bbq fries again and asked for extra meat what they gave me was so dried out I almost broke my filling almost as if there was a bone or bones as I tried to eat another bite and the same thing hard dried out meat ! The positive is that they took it off our bill

Very reasonably priced! Barbecue with attention to detail. This is a family restaurant that also caters to the busy Route 98 crowd. Salad bar has everything you'd want to accompany good 'que. Clean dining area, clean restrooms, and tasty barbecued chicken. We came on a Sunday which is "all you care to eat" chicken for $9.50 (with salad bar). How are you going to beat that?

We were passing though from Tallahassee to Clearwater and saw a lot of cars parked outside so figured we would stop in. Food was pretty good. Husband liked the combo plate he had. Daughter liked her chicken tenders. She was a little disappointed that they didn't have Mac n cheese on the menu. I had a hot dog and salad bar. I ordered fried pickles, however i was served fried green tomatoes instead. Our waitress happily took them back and I cancelled the pickles. Turns out there was Mac n cheese on the salad bar. It wasn't that good...not the kind of Mac n cheese I am used to at a BBQ place. I'd go back if we were ever passing through again.

One of the finest Southern Family Bar-B Q joints around. We eat there EVERY time we visit Dixie County.

Road trips for sad reasons are -never- fun. So when you've got to drive and have to find places that aren't fast food to eat, it's kind of a challenge. I consider myself lucky that we stumbled upon Bar-B-Q Bill's in Chiefland, as it was a very lovely spot of sunshine in an otherwise somber day. Immediately upon entering, we were greeted with smiles and warm hellos. We were seated in a booth and offered our drinks and told the day's specials. Either a 1/2 chicken and all the fixings + the salad bar for $8.99 or a Pork sandwich and fries for $5.99. Both mom and I opted for the latter. The food was delivered quickly. The fries were fresh out of the oil and the meat was absolutely delicious, and it was served on Garlic bread! Om nom nom! Our Waitress, Valerie was all smiles and wonderful sweetness. I can guarantee if we're EVER in this area again, We will stop by!

I've stopped here a number of times on the way to or from Tallahassee. This is your basic mom-and-pop local BBQ place. Nothing fancy, just good BBQ at reasonable prices. Service is always quick and friendly. I always enjoy my meals here. This past time they had "pot pie soup" -- highly recommended!

Can't believe we've only been to BBQ Bills a few times in 19 years living near Chiefland. I suppose we don't stop in because there are so many other cheaper ---yes CHEAP-- places to eat. Not that Bills really is expensive. We are more on the thrifty side and found other nice BBQ joints and restaurants in town we enjoy. I actually believe it's partially because BBQ Bills is so popular and the parking lot is often overflowing. So I can't knock a place where many RV'ers, bikers, and tourists return year after year and locals dine often. I honestly believe their food is okay. Nothing I actually want to go back for. But everyone has their own taste for BBQ and salads. Considering Chiefland is such a tiny depressing town, it is filled with nice little places to eat. As an out of towner you may love BBQ Bills.

Ok, but not exceptional BBQ. They offer the typical pork, beef, and chicken BBQ options and do win points for offering three different sizes on all their sandwiches plus various options for their dinner plates. My two friends and I all felt the food was ok, but not in any manner what we'd consider exceptional--certainly not of the caliber of Pearl's Country Store BBQ in Micanopy. The sweet tater fries may have been the best aspect in my meal, but the BBQ sandwich was decent and they provide three different sauces for it at the table: regular, sweet, and hot. The prices are fair, the service is fine, and the place was filled with people who appeared to be locals and seemed to like the restaurant. My chocolate pie--a Southern favorite--wasn't very good, really, which is a shame because this is something you'd hope to be stellar at a down-home spot like Bill's. Still, with limited dining options in Chiefland, at least this place is local and seems sincere and popular.

Was in Chiefland to enjoy manatee springs state river park. In this small town, you dont seem to have a lot of options. The place is clean and comfortable. You have to try the salad bar. Its definitely the highlight of the place and better than many typical salad bars. The barbecue sandwiches are fine but nothing special about it. They are very small so if you came from manatee springs and you are starving, you will need atleast two of those little sandwiches. In short, although nothing spectacular about this place, I will definitely eat here again if I visit this place.

Stopped by here in late January on a trip to Spring Hill. Family friendly, clean, a bit dated, service was very prompt and friendly. Enjoyed the Thursday rib special for $8.95 - three thick juicy ones with sides of cole slaw, beans, fries and Texas toast. Besns were ver good - tasted like there were bits of beef in there. Quite a bargain and very filling. Choice of three sauces - my favorite was the hot one. Worth a visit if passing through!

Back again.....I have to say food was really good this visit and our waitress was amazing. She was courteous and made sure we had everything we ordered. Refilled drinks promptly. Food was delivered quickly from kitchen and was very good. Gotta go up on my initial rating of 3 stars to 4 due to great staff and improvement in food.
