Had breakfast there because it seemed like the only breakfast place in town. I got a veggie omelet with ham. Nothing to complain about. Good with salsa on top. Potatoes O'brady tasted like they scraped 5 days worth of grease off the fryer along with my potatoes. Disgusting. My sons hash browns were so crispy and dark they were practically burned. Husband had no complaints. Weird kitchy decor

2 Al's is the kind of place you wish was closer to home, so you could be a regular. I've had numerous lunches there - the patty melts are fantastic - and several breakfasts over the years. These past few years they've really taken care to mount the memorabilia, much of it behind glass - there's a poster in French for The African Queen that my wife keeps hoping to steal. That's how cool it is. Since almost none of the area restaurants serve breakfast, 2 Al's really has a lock on it, for better and for worse. The better: Service is always welcoming and good. The bathrooms, dining area are spotless. Seafood is extremely fresh, burgers are like when you were a kid. Good coffee. Try the smoked link sausage for breakfast - fatty but really terrific. Pancake stack also very good. Omelets okay, though not great. But still good. The breakfast "seafood grits", at eight dollars, is a stunning bargain - big enough for a main course, with shrimp, scallops, cheese and onion. The Philly cheese steak (and I've had them more than once in Philly!) very good, worth ordering. The worse: Why a place like this serves "breakfast potatoes" straight out of the microwave - generic, tasteless things - even in their special breakfast potatoes (with onion and green pepper) - is beyond me. It would be fantastic if they were actually home made, from cut up potatoes. Also, the breakfast menu advertises "Applegate bacon", but the bacon we had (both times) tasted and looked like Hormel microwaved bacon. Again, why a great place would do that, I don't understand. The grits, meh. Cheese grits, ditto. But again, the seafood grits are wonderful. All in all, I would recommend 2 Al's without hesitation - just stay away from the breakfast potatoes! Little place on the side of the road on our way to NOLA. The food is fine to get your grub on for a road trip - it's in no way fine dining. - but it does the job done. The simple "ambience" and the SUPER FRIENDLY staff make it a great experience.

We ate there 2/15/2015. The food was terribly greasy, even the broiled fish. We were very disappointed as we had been at this restaurant a year ago and it was much better.

Divey is a good description. The place is smallish, loud and clean. My picky wife was able to get a grilled cheese, which comes with fries Says hot so cooked to order. I had seafood gumbo, not a real fan of tomato based gumbo but this was very good. Spicy but not over powering. Got small bowl and was enough for a lunch. Al is very gracious and is out working in restaurant all the time. My order was messed up didn't bing my coffee - Al made it right. If I were local would visit often.

Too easy to fly by this place, even on a bike ! but well worth the stop. We had breakfast , not too greasy... just good. The serves was good and fast. I always love a place where the owner, Al (Author) is the cook and he's happy to be there. The decor was just as interesting as the owner.Price was average.

One of my favorites in Carrabelle. I started going for the good breakfast and real coffee, then would go for lunch as they have great 2 for $10 specials. I liked the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. Recently, I gone for diner. They have a nice prime rib on Fridays. But the real treat is the Gumbo! I even request it for breakfast.

This is definitely a hole in the wall place. We had hamburgers for dinner. I liked it, my husband did not. We also had breakfast the next morning on our way out of town and it was all great! If we ever find ourselves here, we will stop again. I wrote this review 2 years ago, but never posted it. Just saw that I had a pending review!

A 3.5 star bumped to a 4 for lack of options in the location. The owner, Al (real name Arthur) is a great guy, and spent time talking with us about his history with the restaurant, and life in general in Carrabelle. We ate breakfast, and all the typical staples are here. The sausage gravy had huge pieces of sausage in it, and the grits were interesting in a Cajun style. Overall, the service was great, the restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh. I can see why people living around here would become regulars. If I'm ever in the are again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in.

2ALS became 2BROS (briefly) then closed. 2BROS opened at a new location.

2 Als is the best breakfast place in Franklin county. Try the exploded spanish or exploded country...delicious. Their food is fresh and well prepared and their prices are inexpensive.

Their 2 for $14 special was GREAT. While the outside didn't look inviting, the food and service more than made up for it. We will be back.

Exploded biscuits--I wish there was some way I could make these at home. Food was pretty good. Want to go back for more next time we're in Carrabelle.

Had free breakfast from our hotel to eat here, so ate here twice. Very inconsistent from one day to next. First day, not crowded, but service was slow, eggs cold and and sausage patty was really bad. On second day, it was all much better despite restaurant being pretty full. Only complaint on second day ( and it's a bad one) was that when I asked for extra napkins, one of the napkins had something that looked like a dead bug on it! Waitress and owner were very friendly.

Food = 3 Price = 4 Experience = 3 (This place is a little run down... just like most of the area. It's really the only breakfast place in Carrabelle... I think they server lunch and dinner too?) Huge servings... seafood omelet with way too much things for me to consume in one seating. Don't pay attention to the wild colored walls... they're so ugly)

Cool decorations, good sweet tea. Only place I found that opens early (7:30). Pretty good breakfast, good service, good location. Owner (one of the Al's) was even there helping out.

Hole in the wall, but decent food. Arthur, the owner, is personable. Liked the monster seafood sandwich.

The crab cakes are amazing! Good grouper too. My son had the famous Sea Monster sandwich. He enjoyed it. Hubby tried the crab fingers which he said were good too. We enjoyed our dinner. The staff was very friendly. Service was very good.

From the outside you might be scared and ready to avoid it, however, it is no reflection of the food. Very good seafood. They offer good size portions. The crab cakes are delicious, best I ever had. The fried oysters were outstanding, and that is coming from someone who doesn't eat oysters ever. Highly recommend the sea monster platter. Easily shared and has a variety of everything. I would have liked to have seen more things offered grilled or blackened.

One our favorite secrets up until this point. Love the quirkiness, the great seafood, friendly owner and walking off the beach to get something to eat. We miss it when back up North, also within walking distance of Carrabelle Palms RV Resort.

Good down home burgers and seafood for the price. The waitress was very attentive and gave us a couple of extras without making a big deal about it or nickle and diming us for them. I like that. Overall, a good experience.

Ate breakfast here 2 mornings in a row while staying in Carrebelle. Funky little place with great beachside atmosphere. For breakfast, everything from the traditional southern breakfast with an innovative edge (exploded biscuits, cajun grits) to belgian waffles. We will definately stop in again when in the area.
