This is the last of a four night business trip that brought me to the the island. I Williston definitely return with my wife and family. The lows at night hit upper 50's to 60 and high during the day was 80 - 85. The property was clean and the staff were most accommodating and friendly. Viewed bald eagles, osprey, manatee, Dolphins and more. Some of the best fishing in Florida can be experienced from the resort; tarpon, grouper, shark, snook, redfish, etc... And all are caught daily from the resorts T Dock! No license required from this dock. They have a meticulously maintained 9 hole golf course and for beach combers you have some of the best shelling in the State of Florida. Rooms are spacious and clean. I will return next October.

Quite contrived like Doc Ford's with a hint of charm. The strength of this place is the array of candy and sweets. Our kids loved the soft serve. Modern coke fountain dispenser was cool. Decent array of scoop ice cream which was delicious. 3 year old got a giant lollipop which was so fun to watch him work on and even more fun to watch passers-by giggle at him. Hot fudge Sunday was good. Ordered pizza for delivery and it was good and tastier than anticipated. Would not dine in unless maybe for lunch for pool break. Would not make a destination if you're not staying at south seas.
Great candy and ice cream! You can only pay with your room key so make sure you bring it! I haven't tried any of the food because I hear it isn't good. Go for the candy and ice cream!!
Ordered their delivery special of one large pizza, caesar salad, and 2 one liter sodas for $30 plus delivery fee and gratuity. The pizza was delicious and delivery was fast. Would order again but to warn you it's a little pricey.

The Crow’s Nest

Reviews:
Family had fun. Desserts good. Fried food not that great. Somewhat costly. Crab races were unique. We are happy.
The Crow's Nest is more a sports bar than a restaurant. At least the atmosphere is like that. Food is average and many menus come with the same fried stuff. They love to fry things and the fried shrimps, wedges and French fries tasted the same. The sandwiches look more like small burgers. During our stay we were here a couple of times. The location is better than the food. Service is friendly. There are not many choices around ...
The Crow's Nest is the more casual bar and restaurant associated with the Tween Waters Inn. After beers on the beach at sunset, we decided to go here for a bite and a few more beers. The food was not great. I had the shrimp tacos and they were over spiced. The tortilla was dry and falling apart on me as well. The rice was hard and the beans were blah. On the upside the beers were cold and the service was fairly friendly. The whole complex was sold out but this place was still fairly dead for a Friday night. They had a cover band playing live music and it wasn't overbearingly loud or anything. Even a few of the drunk patrons were out there dancing later in the evening. Overall this isn't a bad place to hang out but like I said, I really didn't like my meal. Hopefully you have a better experience.

This restaurant is so beautiful especially for dinner when it is all lite up! The food is beyond delicious and our service was fantastic! A little pricey but completely worth it!!! I definitely recommend this place for an amazing dinner!!
We wanted to visit this restaurant after reading about it's history. We dined on escargot, spring rolls, lobster, pasta, duck, etc. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We really enjoyed the piano player as well. Overall a great experience, would definitely recommend!
The setting is gracious and relaxing w charm n white table cloths and table lamps. Full bar available and a limited wine list. Piano player will ripple out show tunes that are familiar w a slightly heavy hand. Menu has the full range of options incl veal chop, duck breast, lobster ravioli, seafood and steaks. We chose duck n veal. We loved the presentation and accompaniment and felt the chef missed the five stars not on the capability skill but on a little commented item. Sometimes a veal chop comes from a five star hoof or three star hoof. Same w duck. The provisioned meat source needs to upgrade itself to match the cost of meal. We like the two sizes of plate servings and the service is attentive. Don't let them rush u. We used our 20% saving coupon from castaway hotel down road n now affiliated w tween waters. We had an expresso n nightcap w a lovely chocolate bonbon.

Food was ok. The raw oysters were not good old, soggy and warm. I usually can eat 3 dozen or more of raw oysters but after a few i gave up.However, calamari was good. I had better fried gator bite.
4 stars but kinda 2. This place is pretty good - it felt way more "key westy" than it needed maybe but was still a fun place all in all. Went for dinner on a Friday evening - food was decent waitress was good, live music was good - though he was missing a lot of teeth and sang Jimmy buffet almost the whole time adding to the key west feel I guess... And you cant beat $2 PBR tallboys on a resort island!!! I gave an extra star for that btw. Oh also it had outdoor seating. Oddly, for a resort island there is not a ton of outdoor eating options... Go figure - extra star for that also. I had blackened tuna and requested it rare and it was cooked just right. Otherwise as mentioned things are pricey for the quality you get but don't hold it against this one place, the whole island seems to be like that. You pay a lot for almost mediocre food. Anyway, walked next door to bubble room for dessert but that's another review....
A great place to enjoy fantastic local fare (I had the most delicious swordfish fajitas here) and good island-style music, RC Otters Island Eats is the perfect island dining experience. Be sure to ask to be seated outside so you can enjoy dining alfresco under the stars.

The Mucky Duck

Great location, ocean view, with outdoor and indoor seating. Food is good and not very expensive! Their sunset punch drink is delicious!! Best place to be on Captiva since most others are not by the ocean!
I realize this place has serious history on this island, other than the sunset, I think it's overrated. The food was just average, but I'd probably only go back for a draft and a sunset view.
The Mucky Duck has so much going for it, the awesome location, live music while you wait. Unfortunately the food just doesn't live up to all the hype. It is overpriced for the quality. My "Grouper de Paris", the house speciality was so ridiculously salty I could barely eat it. I should have sent it back, but our waitress J was such a total b, with her unfriendly nasty attitude, I didn't want to complain. The one and only time she forced a smile was when she brought the check, I think she was hoping for a good tip. She also did some lame trick with a fake ketchup bottle with a ticked off look on her face. I guess she hates her job. Disappointed.

I love their key lime pie ice cream 5 stars for that but the service is always lacking. You always feel like you're inconveniencing them by being in there. The place also looks like it needs a good scrubbing.
The key lime ice cream is delicious and a must try! The quality of this homemade ice cream makes this shop worth visiting! As other yelpers have eluded too, the building itself is small, simple and a tad dinghy. However, this does not matter with the beach nearby! The prices are higher but in line with the cost of island food. Overall definitely worth it.
Decent ice cream. Pricey. Blah chain coffee. They will also overcharge you, which is typical for the Russian blood running through the veins of the owners of this and few other (Sasha's cafe, Key lime Bistro, R.C. Otter) places sitting close by. A bit rude and abrasive but if you have been to Russia this should feel familiar to you. Skip it, go a bit further and get your caffix at a Starbucks, newly opened.

Harbourside Restaurant

South Seas Island Resort,5400 Plantation Rd

Reviews:
Harbourside Restaurant is a little pricey, but they offer a great selection of fresh, tasty seafood and a beautiful view of the marina. We decided to have dinner here our first night at South Seas Island Resort because the restaurant was footsteps away from our hotel room and the fish of the day was blackened grouper...yum! Since we were visiting in the off season we didn't need a reservation, but I suggest making one if you are visiting in the summer. The weather was perfect so we decided to eat outside on the porch. We did have a slight problem with the mosquitos despite the tiki torches. (Luckily, I keep mosquito repellant wipes in my purse.) Once we were covered in bug repellant we were able to enjoy our dinner. Had we not brought the bug repellant I would have had to move to an inside table. The wine menu included a few reasonably priced bottles of wine so we started off our meal with a great bottle of cabernet that was just under $40. I couldn't resist the assorted bread basket brought to our table. The homemade honey butter served with the bread was heavenly! I started off my meal with the house salad half portion and the salad was HUGE! Even though it was delicious I had to stop eating it so I would have room for my dinner. My scallops were perfectly seared. The white bean and sausage looked a little weird with the peas, but it was delicous and I had to dip more bread into the sinful sauce on my plate. My husband's blackened grouper on a plate of wilted asparagus salad was the best grouper I have ever had. The meal was light, yet full of flavor! We skipped dessert so we could walk over to Scoops and Slices after our meal. I would definitely come back to this restaurant during our next visit to Captiva Island!
Had a great experience at Harbourside! Food: Expect $25-$30 per entree. With that said...I think I had grouper, my wife had triple tail. They were both cooked perfectly! They were cooked all the way through but not over done. The seasoning was delicious! Mine was served with mashed potatoes and vegetables, all also delicious. My wife had mashed cauliflower it was also very good. I give them an A+ on food, especially after the bubble room the night before. Service: We had a party of 11 with three small children and they sat us immediately. As long as you get there before the sunset, you will not have to wait. The sun sets on the other side of the island and everyone watches it before coming to eat. Our waitress did a great job with all 11 of us. Atmosphere: We sat out on the porch in late December and it was delightful! No complaints here.
Me and my family went here after our wedding and I must say, everything was to die for. we had three appetizers which were, the crab cake, oysters, claims, and fried squid. All three were delicious and the sauce that came with the fried squid was delicious. The salads were great, I had both the Caesar and the Tomato one. If you wanna stick to what you're comfortable with, go with the Caesar. For my entree I had the grouper which was prepared amazingly! I got to eat a fish eye for the first time and fish tongue. I highly recommend this place.

Wasn't expecting to be blown away, but really one of the best casual meals I've had in Captiva. I had the steak tacos and my friends had everything else. Nobody was disappointed!!! The shrimp al mojo de ajo was the best!!
Really really really terribly bad food but I love the dollar wall (hence the two stars and not one)
We were not expecting to come here... Walking to the Bubble Room for appetizers, bubble bread and orange crunch cake.... Smelled this place, and we stopped in! Prompt, attentive service. Yummy queso and homemade salsa and a tasty enchilada plate. We'll be back if we crave some Mexican!

Starbucks

This location does not meet the minimum you would expect from a Starbucks, they don't accept Starbucks rewards, they were out of water bottles in an island really ? Who dropped the ball? There should be dozens in stock , there is no warmer for bagels or croissants overall this shouldn't be named Starbucks if the resort wants to own this they should just name it south seas cafe but don't lure me into a "Starbucks"
Service was fast and efficient. They don't accept gold cards, but they do accept cash and credit....
Typical Starbucks. The only thing different here is that they do not accept gift cards or any other type of Starbucks card. They have a sign for it and they let me know after I placed the order. Quick wait time.
