I work in the same shopping center as Callahan Barbecue, so it's a quick and easy stop for lunch when mine has been mysteriously left on the counter at home. The regular lunch/dinner food isn't really anything to write home about, but it's solidly home-cooked good. I like to get the pulled pork and mix it with the mustard sauce that's out on the table (the best sauce!), and I'll usually play it boring with fries and coleslaw on the side. However! Their chicken nuggets are AMAZING, right up there with Chick-fil-A's nuggets in my nugget-eating opinion. I also just last night had their catered mac and cheese for the first time, and now I'm trying to come up with excuses to have Callahan Barbecue cater all the things so that I can have it again some more. And even if you come and don't like the food, you can cheer yourself up by knowing that you're supporting the entire Callahan community with your order. The owners donate so much food and time and money to the schools and, full disclosure, the library I work at, that I'm not sure how this place turns a profit. Maybe it has something to do with the line that snakes out the door at every meal time...

What would Callahan be without Danny and "the chicken house" as we call it? Hungry! Best catering for events too! Great service, my personal favorite is the potato salad.

Couldn't find the place, waited in hot line for 30 min before order, not enough room in restaurant to seat people, drive thru window slows down productivity! Why Did I come here. Ive stood here so long I've actually worn off my deodorant and have started to smell.. Wow just change the name back to the chicken house already that's what is comparable. Oh and did I mention I LOVE this place!

Will definitely be coming back here! Got the fried chicken sandwich and onion rings and my husband got the chicken nugget meal AMAZING...it's nice to find good food when you move to a new place!

The Chicken House!.. Anytime I'm in Callahan, I always go by the chicken house for their famous, chicken nuggets, or that delicious chicken sandwich!.. its a must stop place when your in Callahan!...

Can't talk more highly about a place than this. The owner is seen working hard, checking on guest. The place is run by high school kids which is good to see he looks out for them. The food is amazing! I have had the fried chicken sandwhich, and fried chicken. Make sure to get some of the homade buffalo sauce for them! Fried corn is amazing!!!!!

My husbsnd is from this area and calls it "the chicken house". He is military so we are visiting his family. I'm very excited that when he retires that this restaurant will be here! So cute and very delicious. If your in the area please go here! You will be pleased.

I don't know how anyone in Callahan lives past 40. My pork sandwich was a little dry and the sauces lacked flavor, except the mustard. Large quantities of sides.

Mr. Danny runs a great business. I love this place. Its a great family restaurant! Chicken house as we call it, is always the most hopping place in callahan.

Stopped here on the way through to Bradenton. Not many options in town, so we took a chance on Callahan's. It was a great choice. Food was delicious, plentiful and priced just right. Would love it if the place was a little quieter, but in some respects, that's part of the atmosphere and charm. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, this isn't your place, but that is evident when you walk in. If you want some great bar-b-q, you've got to try this place.

This is real BBQ. I ordered the combo platter that included spare ribs, chicken and beef all cooked perfectly with lots of smoke flavor. The meats here come with little seasoning and you have a choice of several different sauces to add if you choose. BBQ beans are tasty as well.

The BBQ at what we call "The Chicken House" is real good. I usually get either the 1/2 BBQ chicken plat or a large rib plate (Center Cut). My wife likes the chicken nugget plate. Get there early because they GET REAL busy real quick. I also like their Chicken Gizzards but you have to ask for them to be fried soft. You order at the counter and they will bring it to your table. If they are real busy you may or may not find an open table. Drive thru is good as well but you can have 7-10 cars in front of you at times.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The BBQ is amazing, and they have the best fried chicken sandwich ever. I can stop in here after work and get dinner for me an my husband with drinks and not spend more than 15 bucks! Best place to eat in Callahan
