Had the deep dish pizza it was good but lacked something to be true Chicago style. Will try again next time we are in the area. Next time without sausage. (Be warned if you get sausage on (in) the pizza, it is a patty of sausage the size of the pizza you order.) it was to much. Happy Hour long island iced tea's are $3 Give them a shot, if you've never had true Chicago style pizza, you will still find it's probably the best pizza in Bradenton. Enjoy.

Just another sports bar with bar quality food ...good beer selection fair prices .. However there are many of us who do not drink beer people ..( esp the ladies) .& do not enjoy straight country music some variety would would be good... overpriced wine $9 for J Lohr $11 for St Supery etc If I'm paying those prices for wine then l will not be surrounded by that sort of ambience freezing cold air conditioning .. Long wait for pizza which was not hot but pretty good tasting .. We had the white Pizza probably hesitate to return too many issues given the beautiful building I guess we expected more ..

Ok went for the first time tonight with some friends. My wife and I decided to try the deep dish with pepperoni and sausage. Our friend and his dad tried the thin crust with pepperoni and sausage. Another friend had the chicken Parmesan . We all had salads as well. The deep dish pizza was nothing special. The sauce was extremely thick and pasty. I understand it is Chicago style pizza but the sauce was like tomato paste straight from the can. However the crust was done great and stuffed full of toppings. The thin crust pizza was good and the sauce was no where near as thick. The chicken Parmesan was good. The best part of the dinners was the salads. The river house salad was great. The services was nice but we had to keep asking for refills on teas. The strangest part of the night was the checks, our three friends were on one check total about ($60) he tried to pay will a hundred dollar bill and was told they couldn't break a bill that large. Never saw a restaurant that couldn't break a hundred.

Very good pizza and one of the areas nicest bars with excellent bartenders! They also have scrumptious bar-bites such as meatballs, fried calamari and Italian beef sliders just to name a few! Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

I ordered the deep dish pizza called the Rush Street for 27 dollars. This was by far the worst pizza any of us every had. For starters, when you first see it, you will think your looking at what will to become a great tasting pizza; but you will soon discover the opposite. The pizza had about 2 inches of diced tomatoes, and very skimp and hard to be found toppings of sausage, pepperoni. green peppers and olives. It was literally like eating 5 cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes. The crust was low rise almost like a thin pie crust which did not match the style of pizza at all. We have a house of 4 Italians and no one could eat more than a slice because the pizza is put together poorly and lacked the real toppings. It was ridiculous! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I want want my 27 dollars back for this 5 cans of diced tomatoes.

I liked the deep dish pizza but I also got the island salad. It had one measly strawberry sliced in it, along with a very small amount of pecans and cheese. It was more like a side salad. Disappointing for $6

This place says Chicago style, and that is true. Chicago "style" but NOT Chicago food. Website has coupon for free onion rings. They were good. My Mom had been there for the pizza, but we came back to try the "beef" sandwich. I put it in quotes because it was a sandwich with beef, but it was a french dip, it had au jus served with it. They asked my mom what she meant when she asked for sweet peppers on it. The pizza is good, not New York style, so it was what I was looking for. The place was not crowded, yet the 1 waitress seemed to be assigned every table, so service was slow at first, food took a long time to come, but once we got food our waitress was very attentive. Good food, just not Chicago

I am a born and raised Chicago boy. The deep dish is as good as Lou Malnotti's, Uno's, Or Due's. Better than Giordanno's. The thin crust is just as good. Ordered a thin crust for carry-out last night. John, the kitchen manager didn't like the visual presentation of my pie, so he had the kitchen make a second pie before I even saw my order. Had to wait a few extra minutes, but I got a twofer, and both were great! The girl at the carry-out counter, I think her name is Cindy, has the most bubbly personality, hearing her tell how much she loved working there, and loved her school(Manatee High) was like a breath of fresh air. Two thumbs up for the food and customer service. Felt like I was back home in Chi-town!

When the manager told me herself that she had to pick through the lettuce because it doesn't come in fresh I decided to call the health dept. I ordered a cesaer salad and lasagna. If I tell you the lettuce was brown, it was brown. I'm from downtown Chicago and trust me, I don't know what they served me but it wasn't lasagna. We walked out, the food really isn't good, and it's not fresh. Don't eat here, let them close and go by the wayside.

Good thick and thin crust pizza that is one of the best in town, but my personal favorite is their pink creamy vodka sauce with pasta--in my case angel hair topped off with diced up prices of grilled chicken. Being from Brooklyn, they make this dish & vodka sauce as good as I've ever had back home. I love how it comes with a salad and garlic bread; you really get your money's worth. Being a new place, it's nice and clean inside and perfect to take the kids even though they have a bar because they separated the main dining area from the bar section placing them on opposing sides .

We ate there today, and the place was full of flies. We spent the entire time swatting flies away from our food, and watched the kitchen help swatting flies in the kitchen window. We complained to the waitress and she said that management was well aware of the problem -- they just weren't doing anything about it. Maybe the Board of Health can get them to do something about it. We had the waitress bring us paper placemats to cover our food, to keep the flies off, but they were even on our drinks.

Absolutely loved this place! Wine glasses are large and excellent choice of wines! Pizza is delicious also Caesar salad was one of the best I have ever had! The staff is very friendly like a family atmosphere. Our kids LOVED IT! Very kid friendly and great for large parties!! We will definitely go back!

First time we tried tonight ! I really wanted to try the deep dish pizza but it was really not worth the 45 minutes it takes to have it ready !.did not like anything about it . My friend took a thin crust she said nothing special about it either , and the Caesar as well good but dressing has nothing special . The waitress was good but the teens that sat us down need proper training they were not professional at all . We asked a table for seven and were seated at a table for six . When asked one more seat she said it was going to be a wait ( restaurant was empty ) so we pulled the table next to us and voila ! Anyway never going there again !. Sad because we were really excited to have a new place here

Chicago style thin and thick crust pizzas are fantastic. Sauce is homemade , cheese perfect and sausage flown in from Anichini Bros weekly. Caesar salad was perfect. Great atmosphere for a pizzeria. Local craft beers also!

Just OK. Pizza is not great, rather just OK. And it's a bit pricey. Will probably try this place again but just very average.

Family and I went there today for lunch and to see about their happy hour. We were more then pleased. Place was extremely clean. Service was great. Food was delicious. We only tried some finger foods, a salad, and a sandwich. Ice cold beers. The staff was overly nice and very accommodating. The happy hour was almost too good to be true. Not a bad thing to say about this place. Glad we tried it. We will become frequent regulars here.

I was really excited to try this place considering I haven't had good Chicago style pizza since I moved from Orlando, but I was really let down. I ordered the Rush Street deep dish pizza and the person who made it forgot the mushrooms (I love mushrooms so I was disappointed). I knew I was in trouble when the pizza came out and the back of the crust was exposed because the sauce and toppings were not at the top like it should be on a deep dish pizza (you should never be able to see the back of the crust, and the sauce and meats should round out the top). The taste was just okay; nothing to write home to mama about. My boyfriend had the Island ribs that were cloyingly sweet and could have really used some heat to break up some of that sweetness. I'm originally from Georgia so I have had, cooked and KNOW good bbq (this wasn't it). I will say that the ribs were broiled until they were very tender though and had a nice mouth feel. It's really too bad that the food was so mediocre because the service is fantastic. Everyone was friendly and very professional. On the way home we agreed that we would not be returning and that we should have went to Hurricane's like we originally considered. According to most of the other reviews no one else is a fan of the restaurant or the pizza either.

Being from Chicago the pizza didn't taste like it but it was still okay... The sauce just tasted like tomato paste and the sausage tasted like tacos. Drink specials aren't the best but they will do. The staff well the bartender was super sweet. She was very attentive. I may go back. But only if it's my last option

Some friends and I were excited to learn there was a new Chicago style pizza place in town. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing. We started out with beer and cocktails and an order of oven baked hot wings - which were perfectly cooked, flavorful, spicy and delicious so our hopes for a good pie were on the rise.. and then it arrived. It takes 45 minutes to make which is perfectly understandable - if it were worth the wait. It also didn't occur to me until later that even though we ordered the Carne + Anichini the waiter, I guess, didn't understand the concept of having all the meats + Anchini Bros.sausage (which they say they fly in every day - which seems a bit over the top given the pizza quality) and we only had an Anichini Bros. sausage pizza. The sauce was flavorless, the crust was kind of doughy and just overall uninspired. Granted they are still new, and given the owners track record of restaurant success, I believe they will make some improvements - they *have* to make improvements or they won't be there long.

Pasta and meatballs as well as the caesar salad was really delicious. Wait staff--- we had Bethany-- was wonderful and so attentive. She refilled the bread basket as well as the water and made sure we had whatever we needed. The restaurant itself is immaculate and very cozy--a good combination! This is our new favorite restaurant! Try it! You'll love it!

If you're looking for real Chicago style pizza then Fratello's is where it's at. Each piece weighs about 1 and a half pounds. Great wings. Friendly staff. John Smith is an experimental great chef/GM. I'll defiantly be back!

Went here for the first time last Saturday. I'm thinking about it now because I am still mad I didn't satisfy my craving for good Pizza, and still upset about the service. We ordered a large two topping pizza and waited 45 minures for it to arrive. The pizza was edible, but I was underwhelmed by the quality. If you want good chicago Style Pizza, that's authentic, go to Joey D's. Fratello's is low average in flavor. Don't go to Fratello's hungry. You'll wait for nearly an hour for a pizza in a resturant that was only 1/3 full. The table next to me had the same problem. They actually waited an hour. This place sucks. Really.

We went with another couple to give it a try. The deep dish pizza was $$$ and the sauce was blah no color no flavor, look at the picture no more toppings than most of an all the way thin crust. We all thought the crust tasted like canned crust. looser for us. (oh by the way- brought the left overs to MOM she said she couldn't bite through the crust)The lasagna was ok, the caesar salad was very good, but no bread was served with the meal. The highlight of the meal was the cold beer 2.50 for a pint ...$$$

So we loved their Deep dish pizza so much we decided, before we head back to Chicago to try their pasta. I had the penne with vodka sauce and my boyfriend had the lasagne. Both excellent! We loved their small Italian and the Riverhouse salad with strawberries both were yummy and generous for the smaller version. This place is a keeper. Can't wait to come back next year and enjoy their offerings. The staff again are very attentive and seem to be happy working there. Hope this place succeeds! Please, go, you will love it!

This is probably the best pizza out here, being from Chicago no one out here makes good pizza . Fratellos by far has the best ! We ordered out so I cant comment on the services inside but we were treated pretty good by the girl who took our order and money ! we will dine in next time..

Wanted to have a Chicago pizzeria on the west side of town but fratellos isn't going to cut it. We will drive to Joey D's from now on. Very slow service. Pizza sauce tasted funny, the cheese tasted more cheddar than true mozzarella, and it was VERY greasy. The island salad was good.

Went for Italian beef sandwiches with another couple. We all had them with added items - sweet pepper, grilled onions, mozzarella, and we all had the same impression - the extras, at 50 cents each - were not generous. I had to check for the cheese. The beef flavor isn't as hearty and deep roasted as in Chicago, but the sandwiches weren't bad.

We had 5 in our party. My first impression was very good. Clean. New. Impressive. Unfortunately it is all downhill from here. The gentleman who was our server started out on the wrong foot. He came to take our drink orders. He semi threw the cocktail napkins at us (It was a long booth) as he took our drink orders. OK no problem....Chicago style...maybe Chicago attitude. He had a server in training helping him, and she turned out better than he was...anyway....Drinks came quickly. They were OK. I had the happy hour $3.00 Long Island iced tea....it was worth $3.00 at most. So he took our orders. Thin Pizza, chicken parm sandwich, Bacon Blue sub burger, and 2 Italian beef sandwiches and a Caesar salad. Bread and the Caesar salad came out right away....but then NOTHING for almost 45 minutes. No refills on the drinks...nothing. So now the food comes. Two of the orders are wrong. The Italian beef was supposed to have onions, peppers, and mozzarella. I take a bite and there is literally two tiny burnt onions, and no peppers. No waiter to be found. The server in training comes back and I show her my sandwich...I said where are the onions, peppers, and mozzarella? She takes it back immediately. About 5 minutes later the main server comes back and says here is your sandwich with peppers and onions. I look at it and said where is the mozzarella? He snaps YOU WANTED MOZZARELLA? I snapped back I've asked for it 2 times. He was like well I didn't hear you and takes it back again. I wait another 5+ minutes and he brings it back again and says here it is. He asks Is it perfect? in a very condescending tone. At this point I just wanted to eat. Everyone else was almost done. So I go to eat it and realize it is still the same sandwich I took one bite out of. All this time they could't even make me a new fresh one. The onion rings were cold, and the sandwich had obviously been in and out of a microwave or oven several times. Everyone else's food was mediocre at best. My nephew commented that the mozzarella sticks were the worst he ever had. He even left 2 of them and that NEVER happens. The waiter tried to give us dessert to make up for the screw up, but we couldn't wait to get out of there. We even gave up free drinks bought for us by a friend dinning nearby. I gave it two stars only because the place is really nice inside. Will never be BACK!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
