This is our first try at Peruvian so we were a little shy. We decided to scope out the place by having a glass of wine at the bar. Our bartender, Facundo, turned out to be quite charming and gently guided us into trying some appetizers. I'm so glad we followed his advice. We had the grilled ceviche which in itself is an oxymoron but a delicious one at that! Being adventurous eaters we followed that up with Anticuchos, which translates to marinated grilled heart. Do not be afraid, they were delicious and you will be hard pressed to believe that you're not eating a fine cut of filet. To round out the experience Facundo make us some traditional Pisco drinks. Very tasty! As an entree we split the Asado Peruvano. It was delicious. I'd equate it to a home style Pot Roast with extra flavor. It was tender and tasty with extra smooth potatoes! Comfort food from another culture! Overall a delightful experience. If it's just 2 of you, sit at the bar, you will not be disappointed with the service!
Nice different Peruvian food. Both dishes we had were not traditional: tiradito de salmon with maracuya sauce - which was very flavory and the grilled ceviche - which was also unexpected. The ambiance is nice, the staff very attentive and even the chef came to salute us and get our impression. The menu is vast so I am looking forward to returning for more surprises.
Just had one of the BEST dinner experiences ever in Miami. We were a large party of a 14 and the service was flawless as was the food; not an easy task. Between all of us we had a good selection from the menu and they were all great....from ceviche to salads, pastas and desserts......even the water was good. I almost don't want to write a review just to keep this place to myself. Go, try it, try as much as you can.....enjoy.
Emilio's Italian dishes are splendid. The pasta with pesto is my favorite, and it is perfect here, best. I am not a fan of veal but here it is so thin and well prepared, and the sauces are flavorful and light. The fish specials are fresh and the pasta with squid ink was a hit at our table.
One could not ask for friendlier, more welcoming staff. The host, our server, and every single other server made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. This can be a rarity for such a restaurant that is in a more touristy, upscale area. I ordered clam linguine with a white sauce and the sauce was unbelievably rich and delicious. The clams were fresh. The wine was decent and not too overpriced.
For me the best italian food in the area. The best pasta in town!!! Ask for Romo he is the best!!!
Pretty pricey and the food isn't all that great. I've had better Thai and for half the price, too! I got the duck ($28 - side of jasmine rice & a sauce of your choosing) and was severely disappointed. The portion was surprisingly small, the basil sauce was great, but I believe I made the mistake of ordering the duck to be crispy. I didn't think that crispy was throw the duck breast into a vat of oil. It tasted burnt and the only thing saving it was the sauce. My boyfriend got the salmon teriyaki combo ($29) and that was much better than my dish. The cut of salmon was disappointing but it was still much better than the duck. I would suggest the Eclectic handroll ($5) though. Very savory, just a by too oil for my liking. All in all, Asia Bay is okay. Not that great and not that bad. The employees are welcoming and they tend to you right away which made the experience a bit more pleasant. I would probably return just to try their noodle dishes.
Fresh food and great service from Hernan! You can't go wrong with a combo. Lots of menu options. Everything looked delicious. We will be back for more!
We are Thai obsessed and have been disappointed with all Miami Thai places (exception, Thai House 2 on 163d - best in Florida!) So when we saw a groupon for Asia Bay, we got one and took a drive up for a late dinner. We both loved it! Even though it's along a main road, it's casual/relaxed sitting outside (just go on the late side - after 9ish.) The place was crowded when we sat down but the service was good/everyone was pretty attentive. The inside is cute, not too big though. We ONLY had Thai so can't comment on the sushi/fish etc. All 5 items we got were amazing! Fresh, cooked well, spicy/mild to taste, interesting and unique flavors (not the same old Pad Thai!) All but one portion was well sized - the last one was good, but overpriced for the small amount of food. Most couples would be fine sharing 2 apps and one entree. The prices in general are generally a tad high, though; with a groupon it was a great deal though. (One star off for pricing, although quality costs more - so can't complain too much!) If you see a deal pop up somewhere grab it! The couple next to us was raving about their food too and we chatted with them for a minute, all agreeing it was a wonderful little place. We will definitely be back!
The food was delicious - though prepared differently than described on the menu. However, my real issue was with the service. It really seemed like there was one waiter for the entire restaurant. He was rude, uninviting and unresponsive (the only time he seemed to have an interest in actually waiting on us was when the check was ready to be paid). The GM who I am assuming was the heavy set bald guy was just as unwelcoming. The only nice people seem to be the woman refilling the waters and the runners. Example: when the meal was over (and I would like to emphasize that the good was delicious!) our waiter, without saying a word, picked up our plates and started to bus the table. That's when I said "my meal was delicious, thank you for asking" and he looked at me as if I was crazy. As if it's totally unheard of to check on a table throughout the meal to make sure everything is going well. I'm shocked because we made a reservation at this place on the recommendation from my parents, who are difficult diners (yep, they're THOSE people) so I expected excellent service. Not the case. The waiter is lucky it was Christmas - and just for that reason alone, I left a generous tip. Next time, not so- oh wait. There won't be a next time.
Four of us went there last night for the first time. The ambience is very nice and they have outside seating also available. It was a very pleasant night, but we always prefer to sit inside any restaurant we go to. The service was very attentive, a little formal at first, but once we talked to our waiter he was very friendly. We started with two appetizers, the calamari and antipasto. The calamari was very good and the sauce very tasty with a good kick to it. The antipasto was enjoyable. I've noticed that in Italian restaurants, antipasto can be anything from a regular looking salad with cheese & cold cuts thrown on top to more of a flat plate of Italian cold cuts with a drizzle of dressing. Betto's was more like the second one. I like both styles. We each had different entrees. My husband had the fish over risotto. I had cannelloni della mi nonna, our guests had spaghetti Bolognese, and the 4th guest had a linguine alla pescatore. We were all very pleased with our choices. My husband ordered a dessert, to which the rest of us said, "No way can't eat another thing!", but when it came out, we couldn't resist and it was delicious bread pudding and vanilla ice cream with fruity swirls on the plate. It was delicious and bread pudding is not a favorite of mine. The food is flavorful, fresh, and nicely presented. I am not a fancy pants kind of girl, and while this restaurant is a more formal place with the waiters and cloth table coverings, it was still comfortable. We would definitely return to eat at Betto's again.
Bettos knocks it out of the park. Had to do a little tweaking on his famous Parpadelle and mushrooms but after getting over opening jitters the place is awesome. Just like going to the old Regazzi's and even better. We desperately needed a place just like this and now we have it. Great food at reasonable prices and suburb service.
I didn't expect much cause I have never heard of this little bakery until I visited a friend who happened to work in the area. Small spot but clean, had outdoor seating, plenty of parking. We sat outside of course cause it was a cool day. I ordered the steak sandwich. The portion was big. Ingredients were fresh and steak was cooked well..skirt steak style. I don't normally like coleslaw but their version was tasty. The only thing that was weird was our order took longer the 15 minutes to arrive but the meal was prepped well so it was ok. My friend had the pastrami and also said that it was great. Its a decent bakery and might stop in again when I'm in the area.
I LOVE their 1/2 sandwich and soup combo And their Omelettes are AMAZING! I ordered a spinach, mushroom, and mozzarella omelette and it was large enough to feed 3 people! It was the best omelette I've had in a LONG time. Don't tell my boyfriend I said that :)
5 empty tables inside, 5 empty tables outside and I was asked to move from my table bc apparently a regular customer likes to sit at this table. So I moved and before I could order the waitress was told to get this specific customer his order ready. Food was at table but no one was there yet. 3 mins later in comes this customer. You would think it was Ricky Martin but it was just a common guy at least to me. I'm still waiting to place my order. Finally I order and the food is really good, fresh and made to my liking so I'm happy. I'm starting to forget my initial incident. Oh if u r wondering who the guy was I asked and it's one of the partners of the bistro. Heard him say he'll b back at 11am so if u come to this place at that time make sure to stay clear of the back table.
Good place for a quick lunch near the school. Benefit of plenty of seating and parking right in front. Had lunch special of two slices of cheese pizza and a soda for $6. The slices are huge - one is really all you need. Good seasoning, not to heavy on sauce and great crust.
We use to come here for breakfast every Saturday with a group of local friends when Orlando first took over the place. The pizza is pretty good and affordable. The Latin menu was very good at first, but the quality of their food decreased. Orlando needs to be a bit more Customer service oriented.
Never had their pizza or italian food but I come here with a friend a couple of times a month for the latin (cuban?) specials for lunch. She usually gets the chicken and says its really good. I get the pork chunks with rice, beans and plantains and its amazing. The pork is juicy and the plaintains are cooked perfectly. The portions are pretty large (usually leftovers for snacks/dinner) and good value.
