You know, this is one of the best burger kings around. Brand new. Super clean. Easy in/out. Flat screen TV's on news and sports. Traditional booths but also high top counters and leather armchairs. Has a chill Starbucks vibe. Top notch. The food is standard BK fare. The physical space is what gives this location 5 stars.

Really pleasant staff. In the drive through we got stuck behind someone with a huge order who thought it was wrong, only to ultimately realize it was not, and when we pulled up to the window re first thing the drive thru attendant did was apologize for the wait. She was really nice and had our order up immediately. Coffee was perfect.

I stumbled upon this place traversing a back road off the Bartow-Eagle Lake Road. It's in a strip mall next to a Dollar Tree. I understand a Fred's Market had been there but never saw that either. This place has been opened about 3 months. The interior is made to look like a garden patio--faux brick, outdoor statues, trellis over the center. Nice blue beadboard throughout. Looks clean and inviting. I didn't see a hostess right away but gave it a few minutes. The servers' shirts say "half server/half ninja on the back and they remained busy, working quickly. I ordered the 8 oz sirloin medium rare with 2 sides for $9. My salad came out immediately and was quite large for a side, romaine, not iceberg. And yay! They had Catalina dressing. It also came out with 2 homemade yeast rolls that melted in my mouth. They were so soft and airy, I probably could've folded them into one bite. But I didn't. There was a longggg pause before my steak came out. It was huge and perhaps more medium well than medium rare but delicious nonetheless. Mashed taters were good. They threw on black-eyed peas & onions "as filler" the waitress explained, to make the plate look complete. Nice of them, but try as I might I couldn't like them. Might be a southern thing. It was really a very nice steak dinner, for the same price as their meatloaf special. The neighboring table received ginormous chef salads. They didn't get rolls so when they pointed this out, the waitress gave them double. They were too busy to keep up with the drink refills. They forgot to give me a bread plate (others had them). Silverware didn't include a spoon. An extra napkin would've been nice. Wished the straws were not the same height as the glass-mine kept drowning and needed to be fished out. This place was hopping for 1:30 in the afternoon. The waitresses were friendly and polite despite the rushing. The weaknesses were small for such a great meal and quality service. This place knows how to attract and keep customers. Now if only they could do something about the tractor caps, hats turned backwards (I like when they're politely removed in a publicly place) the loud people who use "ain't" and profanity-laced language as they chew with their mouths open.....oh, wait-forgot where I was for a minute.
A pleasant clean and friendly atmosphere producing tasty food but nothing out of the ordinary. Tried and liked the gyros which isn't surprising as the owners are Greek but the taco salad is so so and I didn't care for the tortilla shell bowl. Nice place to take a client for a business lunch.
If you work and only have 1 hour for lunch avoid this restaurant. Also do not go with parties over 3 people. The food is okay, they do server breakfast during lunch hours but they cannot get orders right for large parties. And yes, I've tried it four times, they are consistent about messing up orders for parties over three people. A group of seven went for lunch on Friday and I'm not sure we'll go back. We had a manager accuse one in our party of not ordering blueberry pancakes when she asked (very politely) for them to correct her order. The manager actually came to the table to tell her she didn't order blueberry. We were all disturbed and upset because it was very uncomfortable for him to come to the table and confront her. AND SHE DID ORDER THE BLUEBERRY. We had to ask for the check several times and were 20 minutes late returning to work. The portions are huge, the waitresses are nice, the food is good when it's good. But be sure and have them read back your order.

Rita’s Italian Ice

Love Rita's. so many choices and it takes me forever to decide. Yum!
We've visited Rita's multiple times. The frozen ice is good, with a wide array of flavors each day. You can also request a flavor one day in advance. Our most recent visit was on the first day of spring, where they were giving out free cups of frozen ice (your choice of flavor) and $1 gelati's (frozen ice + soft serve). Very nice of the owners!
Rita's is a small Italian ice and custard shop near Catfish Country on 98 S. My first taste there was tangerine ice with vanilla custard (a gelati). Heavenly. I also enjoyed a lemon Italian ice another time--lovely--the ice is very thinly shaved and delicate. Today's visit I got a small black cherry Italian ice ($2.45). I would've made it a gelati but the custard machine was broken (hence the star loss). Loved the little black cherry flavorful pieces within the ice. They generously overfill the cup. They have about 20 flavors to choose from. These are nice and light compared to a shake. However very very sweet. I believe they may have a sugar free option, didn't ask today. Very generous with the tastes--I tried passion fruit and mango, both great. I always look for an excuse for a pass-thru on this side of town!

I've been back several times now and I must say, I need to change my original review. The Sicilian is now my "go to order" and it is so good. Nice crisp crust with a great flavor, soft texture to the dough, and good flavor with the sauce and pepperoni. The cannoli is still amazing; albeit too much for me. I have to split it with someone. This is a delicious and affordable lunch option. I recommend it to all!
Palace pizza is a local chain (I believe it first opened up in Lakeland). The pizzas are pretty mediocre to be honest, but with the prices being so cheap it is hard to argue (or expect) that you will be getting a high quality meal! Its pretty popular with kids, so I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic evening. But you get what you pay for, 'decent' cheap pizza.
Pizza was really good and you get a lot of food for your money. Service was great and very helpful.

I'm dropping my rating by one star. The menu states applesauce is included with kids meals. The last few times we've been told they are out. We have not been offered an alternative. Either order some applesauce or take it off the menu! We ordered three pulled pork dinner platters and had to ask for the sides, then the fried pickles and cornbread muffins. The server was quite rude when we asked for these items, which should have been included with the meal. A simple "I'll bring it when it's ready" would have been suffice. However, we were questioned if we had actually ordered the dinner platters.
I had the chicken BBQ sandwich and I thought it was delish. There could've been more chicken and I wish they would shred theirs. Other than that, the homemade chips weren't greasy which is a plus. Cute atmosphere and clean.
Great Food, love the porkshops and like the southern style restaurant.

Oktoberfest German Cafe

You know it's authentic German food when the people who own are from Germany and speak German!! Really awesome schnitzel and oh so good bratwurst!!! Really great atmosphere with a small town feel to it. I'll go back often!!
Oktoberfest is a place I would love to love. Its a great small town unique restaurant, and one of the few places on Main Street Bartow that isn't a bail bonds. Sadly the food is fairly mediocre with pretty high prices. But again, this is Bartow which desperately needs more life, and the high prices are most likely to break even with such few customers to serve.
Every time I go to Bartow for business I make it a point to try and make it here. I have never had a bad meal and am always happy with the platters. I've met with others to go over business and they also agreed that the food was really good. The only downside is that it is on the casual side, it can become super busy during lunch hours and the parking is street side. Returnable: 100%

We ordered two six-inch black forest ham subs at $3 per sandwich. You can't beat that price. For an additional $2.75, you can add a drink and bag of chips. The sandwiches were good, the food was fresh and the staff were fast and friendly.

Kids ate chicken tenders and they where good. Dont recommend the boneless buffalo wings definitely not worth your money. The atmosphere is great decorated with Bartow memorabilia.
I was stuck in town for 3 days on jury duty. I stopped here on one of my lunch breaks. I ordered the chicken strips. They were so hot that I had to wait for them to cool off because I burned myself. lol. My only complaint was that the breading fell off in my hands as I ate them. Drive thru time was about average.
Great spot for lunch, always quick and always fresh. Chicken sandwich or strip is always good with the fries but my personal favorite it The Blue salad, always fresh crispy and delicious.

We all enjoyed our food. We went on a Friday night and it was all you can eat hand breaded chicken tenders and catfish. The catfish was offered fried, fried cajun, broiled, broiled cajun. We enjoyed the tenders. My son couldn't finish his first plate of fried catfish because the first serving they bring you is huge. They serve you biscuits and coleslaw complimentary.
Fantastic seafood, hush puppies and coleslaw to die for, and I'm not that big a fan of coleslaw. Theirs was delicious. And their BBQ ribs are Da Bomb!!!!! Get the fried okra too. Worth a detour to have a meal here. Will definitely stop here again next time we're in the area!!!
Great find! New to area and picked a place close to us off the reviews here. Nadia was our waitress and she was super friendly. We took her recommendations and tried the stuffed grouper and seafood trio. Both delicious only gave 4 stars due to hubby's comment that said scallops seemed store bought type frozen taste. We will be back to try out catfish with our son next time :)
