I really enjoyed the schwarma. I now know what tony stark was talking about, lol. I also had the lemon rice soup, which was very nice, and had nice sized chunks of meat in it. All in all a very pleasant experience
Delish! Very satisfied with the taste, amount and price of selections here. We can't wait to go back and try more! Worth a stop if you live in the area.
This place was surprisingly good. I had the gyro combo with fries and a drink for 6.50. The gyro meat was tasty and moist, and fries seasoned. My hubby got the falafel wrap and it was delicious too! My pita chips were a little stale but still tasty. The tabouli was great! My friend ordered the pk salad with grilled chicken and it would have been a good light option. If on a diet, choose this! I will be back if I am near by, the owner seemed like a really kind person.

I loved this place, but unfortunately it is now closed. A new restaurant has opened at this location called Roseli's. I assume it's not the same owners (if it's the same owners they should bring back the hibachi food to their menu). The sign on the new restaurant says "hot subs, chinese, hibachi", but there is no "hibachi" items listed in the new menu. This was my favorite place for take-out Asian food. It's a shame that it's been replaced by a restaurant with an Italian name and a mixture of pasta, subs, burgers, and a few Chinese food dishes.
Have tried several Chinese places since moving to Florida and thus far this place pleases my palate the best. They have a nice variety of food both Chinese and Japanese if that's your pleasure. They deliver free with a measly $12.00 order. Their take out menu has coupons on them but you don't need them to get the freebies. When you order $20 or more ask for your free crab rangoons. For $25 or more order ask for free steamed dumplings and $35 and over a free general TSOs chicken. The only caveat is you cannot get these if just ordering the lunch specials. I almost always get the pork egg foo young which comes with 3 huge servings, white rice and a very tasty gravy. Makes 3 meals for only $6.99. You cannot beat that deal anywhere. The delivery is much faster than usually stated when you order but I do live right in Apollo beach. Definitely my go to place when craving Chinese and don't feel like venturing out and can stay in my Jammie's and enjoy a good meal!
Called in an order one night from their menu they so helpfully left on my door. I always get General Tso chicken, extra spicy - from every Chinese food place I've ever been to (seriously, read my other chinese food place reviews). And this place was some of the best I'd ever had. The breading was crispy and not too thick, and the chicken inside was quite good. Normally General Tso requires a certain amount of faith that what you're eating is high-quality chicken and not something... else. But it was clear they were using quality ingredients. At least for the chicken dishes - my wife got something with shrimp and didn't like it very much. Also got rangoons and a couple eggrolls, which were just fine. Sauces came in the bag, too.

We love it! Just wonderful! Everything on the menu is great!
I buy 4 to 5 large pizza's once or twice a month in order to brighten up the elderly at the ILF where my Father lives. Hungry Howie's pizza's are ok. They are enjoyed by the people, but their delivery people need a GPS, Pathfinder, Search Lights, (forget the maps, they couldn't figure them out). Needless to say. Best way is to pick them up.
The pizza place situated in what was once (very obviously) a Sonic. This particular location delivers pretty quickly to the AB area, and probably Ruskin, too. Also has a drive-thru and pull-up spots, if you don't have their phone number on hand and NEED PIZZA RIGHT NOW. The pizza is like every other Hungry Howie's ever. It's good enough if you're hungry, and HH does their thing with the flavored crusts, so it sets them apart ever so slightly from the other pizza chains in the area. It's fine, whatever. Chain pizza. Delivery minimum is $10.

Not bad, go there for breakfast. The service is good and very friendly. It:s not gourmet but they're not trying to be four star. A nice relaxing place to have breakfast and coffee. Prices are very reasonable.
Very small older diner but tidy and clean. Dining room has tables and booths available. Menu has one whole side of typical breakfast items and then other side has lunch items. Waiteess said we could get anything anytime so no cut off times for breakfast or "too early" for lunch. If you are craving a reuben at 8:00am sounds like this is the place to go. Waitress was very friendly and accomodating. Husband had a western omelet and she told us no cheese included so may want that added which of course he did. An omelet without cheese is like a morning without coffee.. Ugh! Whatever are they thinking? Omelet said 3 eggs but it was big. I had the mini omelet which comes with 3 filling items and got bacon, cheese and spinach which was plenty big. It comes with home fries or grits and toast or biscuit all for $3.95. Tough to beat that as probably would cost me more to make it at home and this way i have no dishes to do either. Can't wait to try lunch one day when looking for a homelike cooked meal for little money.
This is a decent hole in the wall kind of diner/restaurant. Good food, good service and low cost. By and large, a good place to ear.

Great pizza and drinks!! So many delicious old fashion drink options, I was completely in love with this place.
Very disappointing that the new owners are cutting corners already. The quality of the food has dropped dramatically. The appetizers that we would come here for specifically are reduced to half the size. We got cheese whiz and dry chicken as our nacho toppings. This was the best spot in town. Hopefully they will realize and it will improve.
This restaurant is no longer in business. The new business there is called Latitudes Apollo Beach. Please update your listings.

I have tried a couple other local Chinese restaurants and was not 'wowed' by either, but then I tried China Star...boy, am I glad I did. I have ordered from there a few times and each time the food has been excellent!! Our favorites are the general tso chicken, orange peel chicken, fried dumplings and spring rolls. IMO this place is the best!! It's even better than my favorite place back home. So happy I discovered this place and you should too!
I ordered Magnolian Beef. It Was terrible!!! While the sauce is decent, the meat quality is below standards!!!! I wasn't sure if it was beef meat or tendon I was endlessly trying to chew down & swallow. This was my first and last visit.
Awful place terrible food everything's is taste less I have bought $60worth of food that is a lot of chineses food they disnt give me what I want I have order 10egg roll and I told the lady I need a lot of duck sauces for the egg rolls she only give me 5 really that is not even enought for my egg rolls and I have I order rangoon they didn't even give me any sauce and I order the beef and broccoli all I can see its oil , OIL, and a bunch of broccoli with no beef .ill never go their again ill never recommend any one to go their.

I absolutely love this place. Honestly, I've only had the General Tso's chicken but it is really good. The staff is incredibly nice. Today when I came in they had my order cooking before I walked in the door. Which is great when you only have 30 minutes for your lunch break.
Best delivery in town. Always on time if not early, staff is friendly on phone.
Hey, it's Chinese food! Taste is good enough, price is about right for what you're getting. Someone else mentioned the eggroll size and lack of sauces/napkins/utensils in the bag, and they're absolutely correct. Some soy sauce would've gone a long way. But the people there were friendly enough, and the food (aside from the lack of sauce) is good enough.

Alpha Pizza House

Nick & Alpha House are an institution in Apollo Beach. I love the pizza & salad buffet & have participated in it more times than I will admit. The smell of hot fresh pizza... nothing else quite like it. The pizza is solid, thin crisp crust, hearty fresh toppings, robust sauce & plenty of cheese. Inside is a bit dated, with high partitions on one side of the restaurant. I love the bar area, nice & dimly lit, some booths, tables & decent sized bar. From the outside this restaurant is deceptive & appears smaller than it is. Beyond the bar is a dance floor and another dining room and past that a banquet room. Go ahead & park in front or back or wherever you can squeeze in. The salads are fresh, crisp, light and inviting. The lasagna, parmigiano dishes, pastas... are like grandma made. All very tasty, not overly spicy just spot on good! Everything appears to be made from scratch except the noodles ( actual pasta). Clean, typically friendly, family owned restaurant, that has withstood the test of time & keeps going. The prices are fair & the portions are generous. What's a girl to do? Love pizza, love Italian & other cultural food, the journey is part of the enjoyment.
If you want fantastic Italian food, come here. If you want ambiance and swanky decor, do not come here. The service is great, and the food spectacular.
I was in town on business and found this place on yelp. I was impressed by the authentic cuisine and of course the price. I actually went back 2 days in a row. Apparently They have an Elvis impersonator which I didn't get to see but how cool is that?!? The bar next door has music a few nights a week and I just love the hometown feel of this place. The staff is so friendly and you can tell they have been working there forever. At lunch time they have a salad and pizza buffet and I asked for a specific kind of pizza they didn't have out and they made it for me! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

Ricky’s

Reviews:
While the place has great hamburgers, several other items I have tried have been not so great. The pretzel sticks are always soggy. The fish and chips are not. Basically if I am in the mood for a decent burger, I will head there, other wise, I spend my dollars elsewhere.
We were thrilled to discover this place as our first and last stop on the 2014 Apollo Beach Grub Crawl on 11/18/2014 and it is now called Ricky's (the T has been dropped). When we arrived half the restaurant was being used for the Grub Crawl and the other half for regular customers. I was very impressed with the staffs ability to handle such a large crowd and balancing service for the event and the regular customers. Everyone was a delight and the service was EXCELLENT. We had four food items and all were delicious. We decided to end our evening where we started so we could enjoy some more wings. The wings were great! The event was rapping up and we were offered a piece of home made chocolate cake. All I can say is YUMMMY! It was excellent. The Crawl included 5 restaurants and my first review is for Ricky's because it was our favorite. The food was great, the servers were delightful and on top of things. The were quick to get the drink orders and even quicker clearing tables as new "Grub Crawlers" arrived. If you haven't been here or had a bad experience with previous owners come check them out.
A great bar to meet friends and listen to good live music. The food, however, was awful. First, we got everything at once: the appetizers, the salad, and both meals. My wife had to send her meal back because the chicken was like leather. The second plate came back the same. I had the broasted chicken which was ok but greasy. The mashed potatoes were brown and the veg medley looked very unappetizing. I will say the chicken wings appetizer were good. Can't complaint about the service because our waiter was very good and was kind of embarrassed at how the food came out. We will go back, but not for dinner. They need a new chef who knows how to prepare and time the delivery of the food and who knows how to present it so it looks palatable.

Reviews:
Don't think because you see the familar arches that this is "McDonald's". It is way over priced, the staff treats you like they're doing you a favor slinging half- filled containers of cold greasy fries at you. Nothing is ever warm. It's hit or miss, mostly miss. The chicken nuggets...a couple of my 20 piece were tasty, the rest cold hard & greasy. The sweet tea was a cup of ice with tea that tasted like someone else ordered it with lemon and then it was served to me 30 minutes later. An overly sweet, watery mess with a side of sour. The only thing I can say is the double fish sandwich has always been fresh, not the regular fish sandwich...the double. I have been to this place 5 times since I moved to the area, and this is my local mcdonalds. Every time is the same. It's not worth stopping, I'd rather go right up the road and buy a deli sub from publix. Check out the state food inspection of this hole: city-data.com/fl-restaur… BOTTOM LINE: keep on driving past this dive.
Because I do most of my work on a laptop, I usually look for places that have wi-fi in them that is at least at broadband speeds. This spot is one of the very few in the Ruskin area that has wifi. Unfortunately, there are only 2 plugs in the entire sitting area, so if nobody is sitting in the areas where those plugs are (which is true, more often than not), then you are good to go. Secondly, as for the food, it's typical for a McDonald's. The fries are good when hot, as they have enough salt on them to allow you to eat them without ketchup. The rest of their food is pretty good too, as is typical at a McDonald's. Service is professional and quick, and is much better than it was a few months ago when I visited. Other than that, this is a pretty good place to get things done if you have a laptop, and are willing to withstand the occasional loud children every now and then (thank the Lord for noise-cancelling headphones!)!....
A-1. They will cater to you if you just poured a beer on your head. The staff was very professional. This is a great place to come if you have been drinking at any of the terrible and mind numbingly stupid bars in Apollo Beach, FL.
