My family went here while on vacation, and we were SO happy we did!!! The atmosphere isn't fancy (just regular plastic tables), but the food is some of the best and freshest I've had. Do not leave there without ordering the oysters!!! We got the parmesan and one with bacon for an appetizer and they were SO good! Also the crab cakes were phenomenal. Also the tartar sauce was good on everything. I wish I could go back!

It's not fancy but if you're craving the best raw oysters you'll EVER put in your mouth, this is the place. We also had the fried oysters and the hush puppies didn't disappoint. The sauces were perfect and fresh and everything was served quickly and with a smile.

Definitely not a fancy place to eat but the food is totally awesome. The fried oysters are delicious. Very good atmosphere and the service is great too.

Papa Joe's never seems to let us down. Great food, service at slightly above average prices. Not the best ambiance in Apalachacola but I visit for the food. New location in center of town is somewhat nicer than old location. Will return in the future

We were told about this place after the place we wante to go to was shut down for the winter- when we walked in we knots walked back out because the place just looked like a cafeteria and we didn't think the place would be any good. We were wrong- the food was great! We ordered fried oysters and fried soft shell crab (since we thought the place may be sketchy) and both were really really good! Only downside is they only have bottled beer- not a deal breaker but if you're in the area this place is worth a shot

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Had the large seafood platter. Sweet shrimp, great bay scallops, oysters, stuffed crab, clam strips & puppies. Really good cole slaw. Great food & a great waiter named Chandler.

Crossed the bridge from St. George Island and ended up and Papa Joes for dinner while on vacation. They were able to easily accommodate our large group of 10 (we had called ahead to make sure). There was some confusion when we pulled up because the Papa Jo's we had looked at said it was on the water, but this new location was nowhere near waterfront and looking on Yelp it would appear there are two different Papa Jo's listed, one at their old location and this one. One is spelled Jo and the other Joe, don't let yourself be confused, lol. The ambiance in the restaurant definitely left something to the imagination. All the windows looked like they were covered and it was a little dark in the main dining room. The tables were nothing more than the simple plastic tables you can buy at Sam's or Costco, while sturdy, definitely not something you expect to eat on while going out to eat. Our server was excellent, he was very attentive and took his time with us as we bumbled through the menu ordering. Most of the food we got was of the fried variety, shrimp, clams, and the grouper. While all quite good, would have still liked to see something un-fried available to choose from.

They have moved from their old location. The new one is not nearly as nice. Their website says waterfront view, HAHA ya right. They really messed up moving to the new location. The food doesnt seem as good as it use to. Really broke my heart to see them move. Oh well, there's other places......

The food is consistently good. Grouper finger basket is my favorite. Service is good too. Prices are reasonable.

We had gumbo, it was very nice with okra and sausage. My wife got fried flounder, it was whole! Cooked to perfection. I recommend this place highly!

Absolutely loved it! Two of us had popcorn shrimp and one had grouper and everything was fantastic, including the sides. Great service with an old style diner/cafeteria feel. You'll love it.

Food is nice. I had the grilled grouper and my wife the pasta with shrimp. As a starter we had the raw oysters which were absolutely delicious. The ambiance could be a little better.

We found this place using Yelp. It was moderately busy when we walked in which is usually a good sign. We started with the crab dip appetizer. The dip was delicious crabby good stuff. For dinner I had the fried shrimp entree with cheese grits and a side salad. The cheese grits were buttery and cheesy and delicious. The fried shrimp were light and crispy. Just delightfully delicious. We grabbed a piece of key lime pie for later at home and I suspect it's going to be great. I wish I lived closer. I'd be a regular.

Smaller portions and smaller pricing than other nearby locations. Oysters on the half-shell were not available today, but the fried oysters on garden salad was flavorful and not too greasy. The popcorn shrimp basket was breaded well and tasty. Didn't care for the hush puppies. Service was slows even though there were people at only two other tables. An okay experience. Oh, and don't get confused, the sign is still up but they are no longer in the location on the water, moved to Avenue D.

Oysters were great. Crab cakes were AWFUL. Will be back, but not for Mrs Paul's frozen food.
