The Addison on Amelia

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place for us. Plenty of opportunities to socialize with the other guests if you're into that sort of thing (like in a typical b & b situation), but enough privacy so that you don't have to (i.e. 2 person dining tables at breakfast, private entrances off of most rooms.) This was great for us because we work quite a bit with people in each of our businesses, so we were looking to just have time for the two of us minus a lot of small talk. The room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet. The staff was great and the food was delicious. Not a bad thing to report- we will definitely be back!
Great spot; beautiful place, with careful attention to detail; in summary, they get it right. Comfortable rooms, friendly hosts, great happy hour, and very knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely return (for a longer stay next time).
Surpassed all expectations of a short week night stay. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts willing to make considerations for out of town travelers. Our room in the new addition building featured a comfortable bed with luxurious bedding as well as a spacious walk in shower and loads of easy-to-forget amenities (e.g. Makeup towelettes, shampoo, body wash, hair dryer). Location is perfect for the downtown adventurer. Whatever you do, DONT MISS BREAKFAST! Truly snooze you lose, it's delicious. Sizeable military discount made this reservation the clear choice for our "vacation".

Pretty awesome place. Expensive but worth it. The rooms are clean and have great history. I have never visited a bed and breakfast before so this is an awesome first time experience. It is like visiting friends. =)
I can't tell you whether or not the food is any good here because they never retuned my call. After waiting on hold for 5 minutes, I was told they'd have to call me back about a reservation for tea. They didn't. Apparently they don't need my business.
Enjoyed our stay! Room was charming! Bathroom was very tiny- If taller than 5'6", your knees will hit the door while using the toilet. Myrta was very hospitable. Sticky bun was delicious!!! Everyone should eat at David's which is right behind the inn- absolutely incredible dining experience worth more than 5 stars!

Verandah Restaurant

Reviews:
Verandah is tucked away in the moss trees on the Omni Resort Amelia Island Plantation. Be sure to get a reservation, since there are not many restaurants by the resort , this place fills up quick. Waited forever, but the cornbread was worth the wait! According to the waiter, the cornbread comes from the owner's family recipe. Our waiter was so nice and apologetic for the long wait to be seated. He even brought out some corn and crab chowder soup as a token of his appreciation. It was VERY rich and I only had a few bites to save room for the Flordia Mash thing I ordered. The Flordia Mash was a seafood medley soaked in a spicy broth. It was a lighter dish, which was what I needed after all the cornbread.
Had visited for years and then took a few years off. Menu has changed for the worse. No Verandah salad, cold french fries, raw green beans and no real signature dish. If I could have given 2.5 stars, I would've. The manager gave ys a dessert, peach cobbler. Great presentation, but peaches were not great. Sad to see a wonderful restaurant fade. Hopefully Omni can turn it around.
After arriving around 9:15pm, they were kind enough to accommodate us. They even made a custom Vegan option for my boyfriend. Great service, good food and nice decor.

Elizabeth Pointe Lodge

My wife and I visited Amelia Island, Florida for our honeymoon in late October 2012 and were blown away by the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge where we stayed for several nights. While not an inexpensive place to stay, if it's a special time you're after, you will certainly find it here. The people, the atmosphere, the private beach, the food. In a word: perfect. Very much worth the price of admission. You will never forget this place, and you will return.
The previous reviews were right on. This place is very unique and it may not be for every one. If you are looking for a cozy lodge of bed and breakfast place, then this is it. If you are looking for a full service hotel/spa type of hotel, you will be disappointed. The staff is extremely helpful and very nice. The breakfast has some staple items but they add and change a few items every day. The happy hour is great to meet new people and exchange stories of your day. They also provide complimentary beer, wind and snacks. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a laid back relaxing atmosphere. The one negative as someone posted are the beds. They are a bit stiff and noisy but I can overlook that a the excellent and helpful service of the staff.
Wow. This place was a dream come true. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite. The breakfasts each morning were unique, plentiful and delicious. If there wasn't something that caught your fancy, you could request something different and it would be made for you (I had specially made scrambled eggs to eliminate the cream and another woman there had a specially made omelet). They have a very nice free happy hour in the evenings from 5:30-7 which includes beer and wine and a couple of snack option. Each night, our bed was given a turn down service and chocolate covered pretzels were left on our bed for us. We also received peanut brittle in our room upon check-in. The room itself (the Tradewinds) was by far the nicest beach room I've ever stayed in. It's very private with it's own deck and a lovely view of the ocean. There's a daybed and two chairs looking out of the large ocean facing windows/deck doors. The bed itself was quite comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was a serious plus. It was a pricey place to stay, but it was very romantic and I would love to go back.

Extremely disappointed:( They get a 2 because the atmosphere is nice, it's clean, and the service was good but the food is pretty bad diner quality. The salmon runs out in 2 seconds so if you see it dart. Maybe they would put out a larger platter?!? Uh no. that goes for many items on the buffet. There was zero flavor to the bacon, they sugared the mixed berries (why?), everything totally mediocre and not worth the price. I would gladly pay more for better food. Even though we have a 50$ food credit for breakfast tomorrow I'm thinking about going elsewhere. My husband did like his made to order omelette so maybe if we do stay at hotel in am I will just eat that!
Great meal with excellent service. The menu is fairly simple, but it was a great place for a business dinner within the Ritz Carlton hotel.
Horrible, horrible, horrible! I am shocked at how bad this experience was. We are not a hard to please family but when dining with 2 kids and waiting 20 min to get water, another 10 to have our order taken, and another hour later and not even a starter? We left after 90 minutes - the place was a complete disaster. People just staring at each other wondering what's gone wrong. Hopefully it was just a spring break "blip" in service - not exactly "ritz carlton" style! Proceed with caution - if at all.
