Your Stromboli was PRETTY FREAKING GOOD! I was surprised to have enjoyed it so much. Though it was simply stuffed with the perfect mix of ingredients and baked for a golden freshly baked crust. By asking for that extra cheese on the custom sides menu, the cheese melted like it was my lunches moment of happiness. I will be back regularly if you keep this up! Might even setup quick lunch pickup. Side note: maybe some lunch specials or menu would get me there several time a week.

I'm absolutely in love with this place. I drive 30 min just to go here and anytime someone asks me for recommendations for a nice place to go, I tell them about New York Pizza Plus. They're also known as O Sole Mio and I've been here with big parties and small groups and everyone has had a great experience. The staff is friendly and the food comes out at a timely manner based on the quality of food they deliver. The baked ziti is to die for...

NY Pizza is awesome and worth the drive. I've only had the pizza...the vegetarian ones are amazing, and i've heard buffalo chicken is out of this world. Try the Groupon!

I have had the buffet many times. It's very good if you get in early, our lunches can run late and too late it's not as fresh but they always accommodate and prong out pizza if you ask. We ordered pizza tonight to go and it was so good. Grandma with extra sauce was the best pizza I have had in a long time.

I give it a three because I like some things from them but hate others. The desserts ( cheesecake is amazing I love it !! and some of the pizzas are really good. i don't really like sitting at the restaurant I'd rather carry out.

I have always loved this place, however after visiting tonight, I won't be back. I ordered a large pizza with 2 toppings and I'm sure it will be good, cost 21 dollars. And I'll be able to eat it for lunch tomorrow. The problem lies with sanitation, simply the pizza maker did not was his hands the whole time I was there, which was about 25 min. It was 720pm when I ordered and it was very busy. I don't think I would care so much if he only touched food, but this guy was handling money and everything. I'm not impressed, and wish I new this before I ordered delivery for years. I won't be back

Love their vegetarian pizza!! It gets kinda soggy afterward from all the veggies but that's why it's a veggie pizza... But came in here with the BFF for their Wednesday night special which this review is for. Was not busy when we arrived and was greeted promptly to sit anywhere we liked. We chose a booth for privacy and comfort. We were greeted by a young man who took our drink orders of sweet teas. We were then greeted by another young man who took our food orders. My bestie decided to go with their #1 Wednesday special of all-you-can-eat shrimp and fries and I went with the #2 special of seafood pasta. Our orders came with a choice of soup or salad. She chose the Caesar salad and I had the Cream of Broccoli, which was creamy and great with the garlic knots sopped in it. Their garlic bread is a 5/5 by the way..we had to ask for 2nd servings :] All in all, the pasta was a huge serving enough for 2 people, in my opinion. It had mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, and capers. I could not finish it due to the fullness I felt from the soup and garlic bread. She said her butterflied, fried shrimp was tasty and she had a 2nd order of it. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. The waiters seemed to work as a team and were always refilling our sweet teas. My bestie is a regular and I can see why =).

I never had diarrhea from eating here, it is the best, and I eat from there more than 2 times a week. Very, very good, and it does not taste like it came from a freezer in a grocery store, home made tasting sauce, dough, and fresh ingredients is what brings me back each time..

Very good pizza. This is what I want when I order a New York Pizza. So what if I have never been to New York and can't compare to the best of the best. I can still compare to a hell of a lot of pizza joints and this one is far better than anything I expected from Alachua, Florida. Even though I've only been here once, it's obviously no secret to the locals, as I was here on a Monday and it was really crowded. I don't know if this crowd is normal, as the servers got behind quickly when they got crowded. Our server did forget about us for about 20 minutes while she was tending to a rather large group, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt since we weren't in a hurry and I enjoyed the pizza enough that this didn't dampen the evening. Free garlic knots are a plus. They were really good too. I hate the garlic knots that look and smell delicious, but taste bland. I don't understand how that happens. These tasted like they were supposed to. We settled on a chicken parm pizza because that's what my wife suggested, and considering how indecisive we are about food, I immediately obliged. I was a little wary, as I have had a few horrible experiences with specialty pizzas(I'm looking at you BBQ Chicken pizza from Mellow Mushroom!), but this one really tasted quite a bit like a chicken parm sandwich while still also tasting like a pizza. Large pizza, garlic knots, and 2 sodas came out to about $26 after tip. Very reasonable considering the quality and the amount of leftover pizza we took home. I typically don't order pizza at places that don't specialize in pizza, and I somehow STILL haven't tried some local staples like Satchel's and Big Lou's. But for right now, NY Pizza Plus is taking over second place behind Blue Highway.

My family and I ate here twice. Despite a horrible first experience food wise,we tried again only to have another terrible experience. The garlic rolls were so greasy it took four napkins to blot some oil off, next I ordered a salad which came with absolutely NO dressing to which I had to wait five minutes just for the waitress to drop off some and leave. My husband ordered a Stromboli which was so greasy he held it upside down and we watched grease pool out,my chicken marsala was so very dry that there was almost no sauce. We asked for a manager which never came and when we told our waitress she only gave us a free piece of cheese cake which also was horrible. We won't be going back, better to just go to O'solo mio.

Really good lunch buffet. My wife suggested we come here because she had been before and it was good. She sure was right. Polite service, clean restaurant and a wide variety on the buffet. The pizza was good but then there was really nice salad fix'ns, cooked veggies and pastas. This place is miles above CiCi's. We'll be back.

Was going to try this Restaurant, walked and was advised to sit anywhere we liked reference not that busy, we waited for a while with no service at all ! spoke the waitress who advised that our waiter would be over soon. He never showed up so we got up and left !!!! Service here sucks !!!

Apparently, the "plus" is for the diarrhea you get after eating there. The service sucked too. Never again. EDIT: I spoke with my friend who was with me the other day when we ate at this location. He confirmed that he also had horrible diarrhea a couple hours after eating there. We both had calzones. We will never return to this place.

This is a rare Italian restaurant in that the owners & chief chef are actually Italian speaking Italians. Their pizza isn't my favorite but their pasta dishes are superb. Their Marinara sauce is the best I've tasted at any restaurant claiming to be Italian. The Calamari Marinara and the Calamari & Scungilli are awesome as are their chicken & veal dishes. New York Pizza Plus of those little out of the way local gems.

My wife and I will not go anywhere else for pizza - and have not in the two years that we have been eating here. This is the real thing. Not only is this the best pizza around, but the rest of their Italian dishes are out of this world, too. And the owners are the nicest people that you could ever hope to meet. Top-notch in every respect!

So I ate here again yesterday--once again, having ziti for lunch--and was once again asked "soup or salad?" I declined the salad, but was told "it comes with the ziti." That explains why the ziti is $12.50 at this particular ILNY Pizza and $9 or less at the others, but interestingly enough this change from a single item to this non-optional meal that costs almost $4 more isn't noted on their website and I'm pretty sure it's not on their main price board in the storefront. I'm aware that a lot of local restaurants don't create their own webspace and I definitely know that prices can change in a flash, but this is rubbing me wrong. Even though the food is good, I don't think I'll be back here. It's too easy to make ziti at home. Oh well, it was good enough the three times I ate here. 3 stars.

i love this place, good food, and prices and great service, not sure what the other reviewers are talking about with the ziti and add on of soup or salad will explore that this week. i go at least once a week and sometimes twice. the buffet is getting a bit boring so been doing the regular lunch.a nice family run place, and it shows in their attention to detail and service

I have lived in Alachua for three years. NY Pizza Plus was my first meal, on my first night, and I have been in love ever since. I can honestly say I have had pizza in New York City, downtown, Manhattan. As NY as it gets. This pizza is about as close as you can get, without the plane ticket. Is it exact? No. But it darned sure is a contender for best pizza around. I get a pizza from this restaurant, almost religiously.....every Friday night. So, yeah. I've had it a few times. It has NEVER disappointed. One of the most consistent pies out there. Their main fare dishes rival those of many South Boston Italian bistros I have been to, as well. If you want to try a little bit of everything, I suggest the lunch buffet. They put out a beautiful salad and antipasto selection, as well as pizzas, and some Italian dishes (lasagna, meatballs, etc...). Beware...Tuesday night is Trivia Night, and it is usually a packed house.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
