As a Catholic during Lent, we went here for lunch last Friday. It was awesome! I had the arugula salad with a crab cake on top. It was broiled, which was light and lovely. The food was fresh and affordable. My husband and Mom had oysters and said they were amazing. Feby's is so close to my work and I always forget about it as an option. I will remember from now on!

Feby's may be my favorite restaurant in Delaware. The food is unpretentious, super fresh seafood, quite a lot of it semi-local. Do you remember when seafood restaurants were inexpensive places for a casual dinner? That is still Feby's style. Some of the dishes may be a bit more up market, but you are basically going there because you know what good fish and other seafood is, and you want to get it. Where else can you find it (in Delaware or Pennslvania)? There are pretentious places like Deep Blue, with much higher prices, and OK seafood, but the food is much better at Feby's. The atmosphere is great too if you like a homey place that does not put on airs. Unfortunately, low prices are a thing of the past because the fish itself has gotten so expensive. They also have a seafood shop.

The atmosphere is awesome, the seafood is slightly above average. It all depends on what you get and I'd it's going to be overlooked or not. Every encounter I have had with a server has been fantastic, so no problems there, I have attended for casual dinners and special everts, the staff here appears very trained and knowledgeable.

I had a bad experience with their market a few months ago; bad crabs. But Philip tried to make things right when I contacted them on facebook about what happened. He gave me the same order of crabs for free. The crabs were better but I've had better from Hatfield's on rt. 13.

Our second time at Feby's, Didn't enjoy the first time, but wanted to give it another chance. Maryland Crab soup was not good at all and had no visible crab. "Crispy" smelts were flabby and terribly oily. The chef did serve us another plate which were better. The fried oysters at $2 each were about 1-1/2" and tasteless. The service was very good but the food was a total waste of money - we won't be back.

My favorite ever! My husband and I go there at least twice a month. I have never had a bad meal here! Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is fresh - so fresh they have a fish market attached so you can shop after you eat!

This place is a family run outstanding seafood restaurant and love it each and every visit. A large variety of fresh fish prepared anyway you wish. Service is quick and friendly and all of the menu items are served with a ton of love and effort. Great place to meet up with friends or family and enjoy a great meal Love it!!

Very good food. Went for dinner and was pretty impressed. Definitely a local crowd, but it was quite good. The parking lot was packed, so we knew it was good! We got a high top at the bar immediately. The soups were ok, nothing special. My fiancé got the sea scallops and they were amazing. I got the arugula salad topped with blackened halibut. It was good as well. I'd have liked more greens though. The prices were fair. It was 86 for 3 beers, 2 soups, and 2 entrees. Be sure to call ahead if it's a weekend or peak time! We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our lunch at Feby's. Food, service and atmosphere were above average. Prices were VERY reasonable for seafood. A+.

It is a crowded, noisy place that has amongst the best seafood around. You don't go there for the ambiance or the hushed discussions. You go there because they have outstanding crab cakes and fresh fish cooked the way you like it by people who actually know how to not turn fish into rubber. Service is decent, great beer selection and I keep going back.

Absolutely loved this place when they had the AYCE Dungeness crabs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It was a tradition of our group for a few years to make the drive out to Wilmington to eat here. We would also chase this crabfest with a Wendy's shake. The crab was always fresh and sweet. The unlimited sides and bread was a nice added touch. The staff was super friendly, and they always made sure you were full before you left or before they closed. Unfortunately, Feby's no longer offers this deal due to the market price of Dungeness crab going sky high. In my opinion, it's not worth the drive from Philadelphia for their regular menu. But if you are local, you should check it out. Hopefully, they will break our this amazing deal this winter and you can bet I'll be back!!

First time here w/the hubs... food was great! Fast and prompt service. The waitresses here were extremely attentive, kept our glasses filled, and brought our food to the table nice-&-hot!!! We will definitely try this place again... especially on the nights they offer all you can eat crabs... Yum-O!

Feby's is my favorite seafood place in Delaware. I really have no clue why this place is averaging 3 stars. Everything I've ever had here has been excellent. I just got put on to the little known fact that on Sunday's they feature a surf and turf special, a 6oz lobster tail and an 8oz steak with 2 sides for just $20. Definitely going back soon. Try the crab imperial and clams casino I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Again, I don't understand the 3 star reviews, some people are just impossible to please.

Not very good at all. Too many fried items, strange combos, lack of taste. Overbearing waitress - kept butting in and asking if everything was ok. Better than being ignored, but there is such a thing as too much. We were debating whether the better comparison was Red Lobster or Old Country Buffet.

Came here for a lunch meeting that never happened. That aside I decided since I drove all the way down here I would grab lunch. The place started getting busy from 12:15 on But there were still enough seats. Easy to find and typical seafood looking restaurant. Sat in the bar area and was told at first the bar tender was going to help me but then the girl came back and said the bartender was too busy and she would help me. All in all I was waited on within only a minute or two. Asked the waitress about a few types of fish. She seemed to know a good amount about the fresh catches. I picked a fish and She made a great recommendation for how to prepare it. Fish came out quickly and was delicious. "Sheepshead" was the fish and it ws served with a pineapple salsa veggies and cole slaw (one of the best I ever had) Was attentive when I was ready for coffee and ready to pay my check. All in all a great experience. This is the kind of place I wish was walking distance to my home. Also since work lunch I was not able to drink but I did snot see anything special on tap but i do see a dogfish handle.

Love this place. The seafood always seems fresh and tastes great. The steamed shrimp are my favorite but their fish always looks good and you get a large portion. Never disappointed here. My only complaint would be with their market. We tried to order shrimp from there to take home and they said they could not steam them for us. Disappointed, so we just ate at the restaurant anyway.

The best seafood restaurant in Wilmington! I've been going here for years and never made a bad choice on what to get. Everything I've had was just terrific!

I came here for the first time with some church friends on thursday evening. every tuesday and thursday evenings they have all you can eat dungeness crabs. on the menu, they also offer Raw oysters and crabs. filet mignon. Italian style foods. fresh daily fish, clams, oysters, crabs, live lobster, shrimp, sea scallop, bay scallops, king crab, snow crab, lobster tails, stone crab claws, rock crab claws, mussels, homemade soup, homemade Cole slaw, great service! their breads, french fries, cole slaw and service are truly great! the waitress was very prompt with tending to our needs and was always really willing to. for a group of 15, that's not always the case. the establishment isnt very large and their parking lot gets pretty packed in the evenings. i recommend making a reservation ahead of time, it doesnt hurt to but just in case it gets busy. they have a little bar on the main floor and a little eating area upstairs which is where we sat. it was packed on thursday night when we went but it didnt seem like it. why you ask?! because it was SO QUIET!!! i've never seen or heard a packed restaurant so quiet before. we could literally here the conversations going around us by neighboring tables. that sure says something about their dungeness crabs and seafood! i will definitely be back here again with my family! we love seafood!

We were a party of 5 that went here to celebrate my Dad's birthday at the beginning of December 2012. We normally go to Harry's Seafood for the celebration but DH suggested this place...we will be returning to Harry's the next time Dad's birthday rolls around. Our waitress was rude, hurried and seemed bothered by any question we had. My sister asked to send her drink back as it tasted very, very wrong, (after the entire table tasted it to make sure it wasn't just my sister's tastebuds!) and the waitress was very taken aback by this. Made my sister feel like a children. So uncalled for. My Dad didn't want to me ruin the evening by saying something to management so I listened, like most good daughters do. Lobster Bisque was good. Not too warm but good. The oysters rockafellars (spelling?) were also good. That was it for what was good. Dad's Salmon - Overcooked. My Lobster - SOOOO Overcooked. Husband's Crab legs - Bearly Room Temperature Sister's Entree - Thrown together and lacked any taste or seasoning. Brother-In-Laws Entree - OK So we spend about $250.00 on the check for an "OK not so great meal with a rude server". I wrote a letter to the restaurant and never heard a response. Nope - we can cross this place off our list of seafood places to revisit.

I've been going to Feby's every time I visit the area for many, many years. I never had very high expectations (as with most Wilmington dining), but enjoyed some decent meals there. Basic seafood and beer, decent service, reasonably priced. Recently though, it seems to have declined considerably. Tough times are evident in the shrinking portions, higher prices, and lower quality. We were seated at the hostess' " favorite" table - a booth in the corner. There, we felt overlooked by the waitstaff, also every time the front door of the restaurant closed ( just on the other side of the wall) our table shook with a bang. NOT pleasant. The food was mediocre. The steamer combo was not hot, and included clams that were still shut tight. The open ones weren't much better. Overall disappointing, no longer worth it to me.

Feb's was a nice family joint, but their standards of quality aren't the highest. It was adequate tasting but a little pricey for what the quality is. Either the lobster wasn't cooked well or I don't like lobster.

We've never had bad seafood at Febys. If you have high standards for seafood (we used to live in Baltimore), the only places to go in Wilmington or Philly are Febys or Harrys Seafood Grill. The rest are just terrible. We had blackened Rockfish and baked King Salmon. The Salmon was obviously legit from the Northwest. The portions were large and cooked perfectly. Yes this place is expensive, but if you want cheap seafood continue to eat your previously frozen fish fillets from Red Lobster and save us our favorite table at Febys. Quick tip, don't be put off if the average age of the patrons is somewhat north of 60. Seniors know where to eat too.

We love the variety of fresh fish. The restaurant is family oriented and friendly. The owner is often there to make sure all goes well and chats tableside. My wife loves the Dungeness Crabs on Tues & Thurs. The snapper soup is excellent and I like the grouper and haddock. Lunches are nice as well. The wait staff is friendly and supportive. This is not a fancy place, but a variety of well prepared seafood, tasty and ample portions. Great for lunch and dinner, we often take family there too. Introduced our grandkids to the Dungeness crab last trip up. Top notch for us.

I have been going to Feby's in the past 5 years, almost once or twice a month for lunch, because my Grandmother loved the crab cakes. However, over the past maybe, year and a half or so, we noticed alot of changes. Portion sizes got significantly smaller while prices increased or stayed the same, and food quality went down: cold food or over-cooked, and we eventually just stopped going altogether. I did really enjoy their grilled tuna club and that was eventually what I got everytime because you can't screw up a nearly raw piece of tuna on bread. Their fresh fish selection is fairly diverse, and very good they seem to have a very loyal customer base. I do go to the other side of the restaraunt on occasion to get fresh seafood. Sad thing is there are few seafood restaraunts in the area now. Oh, and the music is way too loud in there at times, I don't like trying to have a conversation over music, and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin even less.

This review is for their fish market, and there are few other places I would purchase seafood. They can always tell you where the fish came from, and when it arrived. Fish selection is always large, and if you want tips the guys behind the counter know their stuff.

I used to go to Feby's a lot about 10 years ago. My father and his business partners went there quite a bit as well as my brothers and their families. It was great. But somewhere along the way, I don't know what happened, things changed. Suddenly, the service was awful, and the food went way downhill. I kept trying it hoping it was just bad once or twice, but things didn't get better. The last time I went there, in 2008, the crab cakes were full of shells and too buttery-always get them broiled. The baked potato was overcooked and brown inside like it had been in the potato warmer drawer since the day before. The waiter was screwing everything up and never apologized. We didn't complain-just paid and left. It was terrible and way overpriced. They don't even deserve 1 star. After that, I'll never go back.

As mentioned in two other separate reviews (that I wish I'd read beforehand), the Clam Bake arrived cold and the Clams Casino and Oysters Rockefeller that came with the Broiled Combo were seriously over seasoned. The wait staff took a plate of yet-to-be-eaten lobster claws without asking and I had to ask for a beverage refill every time. When the manager came by, his solution to the cold food was to re-steam it (rubber seafood, seriously?)! The simple foods (lobster tail, scallops) were good aside from being cold and the rosemary bread was tasty. In short, Applebees service and quality with fine dining prices.

After living in Delaware for close to eight years my wife and three kids (one three weeks old) finally ventured to this establishment after spending an amazing day at nearby Winterthur (also a first). I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was and how efficient and nice the server(s) were. My wife had the special: grilled Mahi served with a heaping topping of crab imperial with asparagus atop a chilled vegetable orzo salad. I had the Wild King Salmon with redbliss potatoes and summer squash; the kids each had a child's plate basic fare here. My sons fried shrimp plate had some tremendous butterflied shrimp and he adored it. We're always a little picky with fresh fish and have experienced more then once way-overcooked filets that taste like overcooked flank steak. This wasn't the case here the Mahi and Salmon were absolutely fresh tasting, huge portions, her Mahi was buttery, flaky and cooked just right, the crab topping was jumbo lump with NO shells or filler. The asparagus tender but not overcooked...she was taken back a bit to experience the cold orzo..but once she found out it was supposed to be cold it was fine. My Salmon was medium cooked to order and literally melted in my mouth with none of the fishy aftertaste found in supermarket salmon...I'd venture to say it was as fresh as good sushi grade salmon! The service was very nice and accommodated my children and us with no problem or wait. We'll definitely go back to this family friendly restaurant!

I've been eating here for well over 20 years. The service is inconsistent and when it is slow, it is really, really slow. I suspect the kitchen gets backed up, but if you get seated upstairs, forget about getting your food i a reasonable amount of time. That said, go there for the all you can eat dungeness crabs. These crabs are great, easy to pick and are worth the money. I've had a few menu items and I would stay away from meat and pasta dishes. They aren't bad, but you won't feel like you got your money's worth. The fish is always good but the sides and garnishes are usually fair at best. They used to have the best semolina bread ever but it hasn't been there in a while.

Food is always very good, but my complaint is about the service and attention to the customer. My wife and I went to dinner here recently for our anniversary. We go to Feby's at least a couple of times a year for special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, you name it. Each time, we easily spend over $100 just on two of us. We do not hold back or cheap out, and we always tip very well. I made a reservation about a week in advance and made mention of our anniversary. The woman I spoke with said she'd make a note of it. When we arrived, the hostess seemed more interested in seating her regulars instead of us, even though we'd arrived in front of at least one party. Then, when she seated us, she put us at the absolute worst table in the restaurant - alongside the stairway (picture people's shoes walking by on level with your Steamed Combo) and in the path of people going to and from the bathrooms and kitchen. We immediately requested to move. After all, we had a reservation, and there were many free tables throughout the restaurant! It wasn't like we were walking in there on a whim hoping they could seat us where we should then expect to get whatever table we could get! From there, the service was o.k. The waitress was nice but not very polished. A young woman collecting finished plates from tables was nice but a little too eager to take our plates before we were done with our food. The hostess came by to briefly ask us how our meal was. There was never any mention of our anniversary or apology for the bad table. We are not overly fussy people and are not the type to have unreasonable expectations, but this visit left a bad taste in our mouths. In a way, I felt like we were treated like second class citizens and, to be totally honest, this is not the first time we've gotten that vibe here. Will be looking for a new place for our next special occasion in March. Sorry...

This is our go to place for good basic seafood. Nothing fancy or nouvelle here - just fresh fish prepared in your choice of ways: fried, broiled, grilled, blackened, or sauteed. Baby particularly likes the stuffed with crab imperial option. The available fish change from day-to-day depending on what's fresh (they have a seafood market next door if you want to prepare your own). One annoying thing is that there's no printout of the day's fish choices (nor have I ever had a server tell me them or the specials), they're only listed with the specials on a blackboard by the bar out of sight from the dining rooms. So I snap a photo of the blackboard with my cell phone instead of running back and forth. Also, be warned, soda refills are NOT free. Last time, our server kept offering Baby refills as though they were complimentary but we were billed for all of them.

Went here with a group of 6 on 07/14 and had made a reservation. We were running late but with one call, easily had the reservation bumped back to 7:30. When we got there it was packed and despite having a reservation I expected to wait a bit anyway however it only took about 15-20 minutes to be seated. We were hosting a special guest musician from out of town and he requested Guinness to drink. Even though they did not carry it (or were just out) they had someone run out and get a 6-pack of it just to accommodate him. I really thought that was above and beyond and it was very much appreciated! Lobster was on special and I believe we all got it. It was $20 for an ample size whole lobster with corn on the cob and it was excellent. I also got the lobster/shrimp bisque which was ok, not the best... a bit over rated. Service ok, took a while to get the food but again it was really busy so I didn't see this as a real fault, just met my expectations. All in all we had a very good time and I would definitely be back, especially for the lobster special but there were a few other "fresh catch of the day" type dishes that sounded good. I had been here once before with my dad a while back & got the same thing. I remember ti being a good experience then too. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

The few times I've been to the restaurant have all left a couple of things to be desired: good food and some of my money back. Extremely expensive for the less than mediocre food AND service received.

This was my 1st time at Feby's. It came highly recommended so we thought we'd give it a try. The verdict? Mediocre food + expensive menu = meh, we could've done better. Don't get me wrong, the seafood was very fresh, we had 2 dozens of raw oysters which were absolutely delicious. So here is the question, if the seafood is so fresh, why all the extra preparation? I had one of the seafood platters. It would've been wonderful without the "imperial", the "casino", the "deviled" stuffing they put all over nearly every single piece of seafood on my plate. The downstairs dining room was charming, like a little inn you may find in New England. The service was slow, but since it was Mother's Day dinner, the kitchen is understandably backed up. If there is a next time for me at Feby's, it'll be on someone else's tab and I'll be sure to order everything plain so I can really enjoy the seafood.
