High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. I've tried this and the one on churchmans crossing and much prefer this one. I've always had amazing service and the food is always as expected. I have not had even half as much at the other Applebee's. I've also noticed Applebee's is changing around its usual decor and menu to suit a more younger crowd. The usually family style options are still there but they now offer pub snacks and daily happy hours with a wider range of adult beverages. Am excited to try out a night there with friends.

Went this place open I stop by with my husband but never again we received the worst service and food quality. I asked for my chicken and my husband steak well done and was brought it to us burn. Went I complaint to the waitress the answer was oh!! That is to we'll done for you. Are you kidding me I wanted to scream to him. Also our order of loaded mash potatoes was just throw it on the plate like there were serving a pig. I was very disappointed and asked for the manager an I was told he wasn't available. WTF I never visited this place again. Don't visit this place that is my advice.

Stopped in here with a gift card last night. Plan was 2 for 20 deal but then found out burgers with endless fries were 6.99. Shared the brunch burger which had cheese, bacon, an egg and hashbrowns on it! And the American burger. Not sure if we got the right one because no pickles but was really good. Had a bbq sauce with bacon and chedder. Both were fantastic. Would totally come back every night for burgers if they were not 3000 calories! Did share potstickers which were just ok. No need for them again. Bartender was also very pleasant. No need for 2nds on the fries. Burgers were more than enough!

Writing a second review bc Applebee's is really stepping their game up! From their appetizers to their entrees to their desserts they don't disappoint! I went from only enjoying one thing on the menu to having a few favorites! Kudos to Applebee's for this step up!

It's been literally 20 years since I've been to an Applebee's, but my wife's grandma gave us a $30 gift card. We decided to put it to good use on our way back to DC from Philadelphia. Applebee's is Applebee's but this location was near Best Buy (always a plus). The green been apps were awesome and they have an under 500 calorie menu and house margs.

My experience at this applebee's wasn't so pleasant. Starting out they lead us to the table with barely a greeting. Just asked us how many people in total. The waitress was blatantly rude. The tablets that are for customers use have a "call server" option and that seemed to annoy her that we used it. Telling, well rather yelling at my younger brother to press the button to deactivate it. The worst part is that is overheard her complaining about the use of these tablets to a family right behind us. She stated that "they (customers) use it to ask for ketchup or something little and I have to rush to get it or it makes me look like I'm not doing my job". Well isn't that the point of the tablets? Anyways, the server was named Samantha T and she was VERY unprofessional. Trash talking your clientele just shows how unfit you are for your job. Especially if your customer is an earshot away. How idiotic.

A longtime Applebee's customer, I went to this location for lunch with my son today. We enjoyed our Caesar Salads, but our smiles turned to utter disgust and nausea when I discovered a furry, matted carcass under my Bourbon Steak!! I showed it to the waitress (who shuddered) and then the manager, Brad, came out and apologized, and stated that although he couldn't identify the furry object, he comped our meals. I just wanted to ensure that this wouldn't happen to anyone else today or EVER!!! It was disgusting and I'm still sick (physically) from this incident!!

Three cheese chicken with Alfredo sauce contained 6 pitiful and thinly sliced pieces of grilled chicken. I know it's only $10.99 for the dish but the amount if chicken was pitiful. I don't expect much when I fine at Applebee's but this was very sad. Times must be tough! I pay $1.99lb for chicken breast on sale and I'm sure Applebee's pays less than that. Really sad state for this chain.

Monday night, hardly anyone there. Still slow service, most likely it was the kitchen since it seemed to be the same at all tables. Very typical chain restaurant food. hard to mess up but was very salty. probably okay for lunch do not recommend for dinner.

I ordered the nachos without jalapeños and it came out barely any meat, and with jalapeños. They sent it back and I got it cold the second time. Seriously???? Wtf. Im done with this place. Terrible!!!

I don't even want to give this place one star but I have to. Everything on the menu is disgusting. I used to have to come here constantly because my coworkers insisted it's the only place that's open late enough for us to sit down and eat at. I've never liked any entree and I've tried at least 10 of them. Never going back. I actually hate this place.

this Applebee's is awful..our waitress pretty much threw the food on the table and walked away..never to come back..even though she would walk by..had to track down another waitress so that we could get the bill..just awful..I've never left a waitress zero as a tip..but she got what she deserved..will never go back to this one..

Enjoy paying too much at this ghetto dump. The staff could try to be more polite... and better with appearance. Way to look like you just rolled out of bed.

I will never go again. I have given then so many chances and tried so many dishes. This time got a Cowboy Burger. While the burger was big and juicy it had NO flavor. How about using salt? The BBQ sauce was gross. The French frys needed SALT. Learn to cook a proper burger.

The best thing about lunch today was the company I was in(my son) . The service was some what slow, the food was tasty, and the restaurant was clean. This was perfect for a mother and son lunch just off the fly. I would return for a quick bite.

It's sorta hard to go wrong with applebees. The food is always edible (except for these new fake Italian pasta dishes they've added to the menu), Though, that has little to do with this particular site. Every time we visit this applebees the service is always questionable. If it's particularly busy our waiter is nowhere to be found and if it's empty the waiter stalks you (quite literally). Our last waiter asked us if we were okay and told us to enjoy our meal no less than 25 times in a 45 minute time span. The second I put down my fork he was already at the table holding take-out dishes. I wasn't done eating but was so annoyed and frustrated at this point that I took the dish and began packing my food. My boyfriend, on the other hand, had quite literally half a meatball and a dollop of sauce ON HIS FORK and the waiter began shoving take-out boxes at him asking, "sir, would you like to pack that? Do you need a take-out box?" It was absurd. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically. I tipped him well because his behavior that night could only be the result of serious desperation. ...or maybe he's just new. Poor kid.

At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
