The food came out quickly and was very tasty. My 3yr old son requested something that was not on the menu and they made it special for him!

One of my favorite local places to frequent. Always happy with the food. Be sure to get the Jameson sauce on your mashed potatoes, it's delicious. The boxty's are a great pick. The bacon wrapped asparagus is probably my favorite thing they have. Drinks can be hit or miss sometimes, maybe depending on who's bartending that night.

The food is great every time I have been here. A true Irish Pub. The nachos are awesome. They have these lunch things called boxies that are great. The cornbeef and cabbage is very good the sauce they put on it is amazing. The prices are a bit high but worth every penny. The porch upstairs is a great place to have a few drinks with friends.

I stopped in here on a Thursday night with my girlfriend, on our way home from the Delaware beaches. It was clean, the staff was awesome, and the food was delicious. I've been driving through Smyrna for the past 15 years on my way home from the beach, and just realized it's a great town to stop to grab a bite. Between The Odd Fellows (also awesome) and Sheridan's... this is the perfect town to stop if you're hungry. It wasn't too crowded when we got to Sheridan's, but by the time we left (around 6:30pm) every table was filled. I had a "boxty." I had never heard of one before, but it was outstanding. The serving was huge. My girlfriend had a roast beef sandwich- loved it. Great beer selection, and dessert was awesome too. I'll definitely be back again.

Good food, good service, friendly staff. Arrived around 7:30 on a Friday night, so the place was starting to get a crowd. Had a group of four people and they sat us right away. We requested to sit outside at the upper patio which was nice on a nice night. They had a large group up there, but the waitress still attended to our table in a reasonable amount of time. She told us the specials, I had asked about getting fried pickles (which is a bar item and severed after 9 pm), but the waitress didn't know, and she went and asked and then let me know that they didn't serve them right then (I appreciated her asking). Food was good (shepherds pie, Cajun shrimp boxty, fish n chips, and Santa Fe chicken). Our drinks were attended to, and the manager stopped by and asked about our food and service. Overall I think it was a nice experience. I would go again.

Better than average bar food! Really liked the green salad with fruit. There's an upstairs outside area for summer. Lots of fans. Pleasant seating outside.

My husband and I took my father here for dinner recently. We were in the mood for something different, and decided on Sheridan's over the other Irish pub on this highway because of better reviews. We are so glad we did! Our server was one of the owners, Shirley, and her hospitality certainly set the tone. The three of us shared the cabbage rolls and bacon-wrapped asparagus for starters. You could hear the pride in her voice when she described how her son created the "spicy dipping sauce" for the delicious asparagus appetizer (now a well kept secret!)..the cabbage rolls were fantastic as well! For our main course, I ordered the Roast Beef Boxty, and my husband and father both had the Smoky Mountain Boxty...both kinds were incredibly delicious, but I believe the Jameson sauce on my roast beef won out! We will certainly be back. I can hear another Roast Beef Boxty calling my name..next time with a Guinness. Thanks for a great meal and experience, Shirley!

Recommended by our class instructor and it was great. Good food and large beer selection. Little chilly by the door thought. Shepard pie was great. Worth the trip.

I came here for a drink after work one day. They have an excellent draft selection and the waiter was very attentive. My only complaint was that the whole ambiance wasn't very "pub" feeling. I sort of felt as though it may be kind of snobby. I was going to order food, but it was way too pricey. It might be nice for a date night dinner, but I wouldn't go there for happy hour again.

My boyfriend and I just went here and we both loved it. The Shepard pie was the best I've had. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food, and by a long shot, the best place to eat in Smyrna. Nice environment and friendly staff. This place is very well received in Smyrna and has tons of charm (environment, staff, beer and food) One wish, they'd start serving smaller sizes for smaller people. As it stands now they don't offer 1/2 sizes on any of the food.

Came in twice. Meals were quickly delivered with friendly service. We will stop in if in the area.

Average food at best. Far from the best Irish food ever. Service is hit or miss with misses being more common

Had a nice vibe. Smaller area but wholesome staff and real cool specials. Definitely a great place to relax and have a beer.

If five stars means that this restaurant is "as good as it gets" I am unable to grant five stars. I will however give Sheridan's four stars, because I am a "fan"...it is a solid place and maybe it is "as good as it get" down in slower-lower-DE...?!?! (Should I lower my standard and expectations based on the location? I think not.) I went here tonight with my wife. We were greeted immediately by who seemed to be the GM or owner. Our service throughout our meal was good. It was not great. When I go out to eat and spend $40+, I'm looking to be wow'd. I'm looking for warmth from my waitor/waitress. I'm looking for someone to not only meet my expectations, but exceed them...I'm paying you, remember? Like I said, my service tonight was good...but it wasn't great. To be honest, as the meal went on, the place grew busier, and we were a bit neglected. Regardless, the food was good - I had the Fish & Chips (not the best I've ever had, but solid nonetheless; cod was not greesy, which is good; fries were totally unsalted) and my wife had the Turkey & Asparagus Boxty (very tasty). The restaurant is very clean, which is big in my book. I do want to say that this has got to be the best spot in Smyrna...and Dover for that matter. This place blows McGlynn's and the like outta the water. I highly recommend it.

Good shepherd's pie. Hearty and enormous. Tasted a boxty, which I had never even heard of it...it was a potato pancake (I think?) Interesting. But also enormous...too much...food. Good variety of beer on tap. Plenty big. Live music! Not many options in Smyrna, so this is a good one!

Sheridan's is, put quite simply, the best restaurant in Smyrna. The food is traditional Irish pub fare excellently prepared and served in sizable portions. The beer selection is the most respectable one in town - and, of course, there's no better place in all of Delaware to score a Guinness, Harp, or Smithwick's. In addition, they also serve excellent concoctions from the local 16-Mile Brewery on tap. The service is excellent, and the decor is tastefully cozy for a pub, replete with a fire-hydrant-tap and a fireplace. Of particular note is the traditional Irish breakfast that they serve annually on St. Patrick's Day. It's a fairly dense meal, but it's truly an old-world experience worth coming for. The restaurant is worth visiting any time, however - either for a more quiet place for lunch or a fun Friday night with live Irish music. I certainly plan to make this my regular spot as long as I live in the area.

Great friendly service, awesome Sheppard's Pie and Smithwick's on tap. Well worth the slight detour on the way to Ocean City!

A great authentic Irish pub, the owners (Irish couple) keep the menu interesting and I've tried both the American (burger was great) and Irish (excellent Sheppard's pie). The beer selection is very good, atmosphere warm and welcoming, the wait staff is attentive and friendly. Definitely a good stop and even though it's a bit of a hike for me, I will definitely make this a regular stop for a good meal and beer.

As a Smyrna resident, I can tell you that Sheridan's is my favorite restaurant in our sleepy little town, by far. They have a great selections of Irish beers (my favorites), and in the past year have also added a great rotating selection of craft beers! Woo hoo! :) The live music on Friday nights is always fun, and they have a free-to-enter poker tournament on Monday nights that is always fun and friendly. (Is it wrong to say that I miss karaoke, though?) :) The owner makes sure that even though this is a pub, that it is an "old world pub", where not just someone interested in a pint can go, but families interested in grabbing a great meal can go. So whether you are out for a pint, out for a great meal, looking to try some craft brews, or find some entertainment on a Friday or Monday night, this is the place to be in Smyrna.

Love this place, great food, must try the Cajun Shrimp Boxty or Monday Nights 1/2 Price Burger night and free Texas Hold'em Poker. Reminds me of The Bar "Cheers" where you walk in and everyone knows your name.

Been awhile since I've been at Sheridan's, but thought it derserved a review since I enjoyed myself. First off, Smyrna is a bit of a sleepy town, and this gem in the middle of it gave me a surprise. Great selection on tap, and a nice amount of Irish faire on the menu. I've kept it simple to my orders (burgers, typical America pub fare) and have been pleased. The crowd here can be hit or miss......sometimes it is packed out the gills.....other times very quiet. Regardless......worth the stop if you want to get away from a chains out by the highway, and would like something more authentic. A place not to miss on St Patrick's Day.

Went here on a Saturday night around 11 pm. The place was nearly empty except for a few locals on the roof deck and a man playing live music. I felt bad for him, having the place so empty- he was pretty good. I can't give a stunning review of this place because all I had was a Coors and some potato leek soup. Both were fairly good and served at their appropriate respective temperatures. The bartenders were nice enough, despite the late hour. Though my experience was limited and lackluster, I thought they at least should get a listing. The place is cute. I didn't get a great look at their menu, but I'll be back for a full meal to see how authentically Irish they are.
