Mmmm, mmmm good. This place was well worth the stop! My wife was skeptical as we drove up, but don't judge this book by its cover. Inside you'll find a mom and pop style sandwich deli general store. The sandwiches reminded me of how my grandpa used to make'm: generous portions of quality meat wrapped in white paper. 1 corn beef hash sandwich + 1 pastrami sandwich + old style fries+ rice pudding with chai spices + peanut butter covered pretzels + and a Coke. ALL that for $16 bucks. And every bit of it was delish! There is no dine-in, so we chuckled as we watched a full parking lot of people in their cars chowing down. Also, if you're driving through (like we were), check out the Welsh Tract Church down the street towards I95. Google it + Headless horsemen. It has some pretty sweet Revolutionary War history!

Without a doubt the biggest deli heroes I have ever seen. They do a hero with fresh turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing ("The Gobbler"?), which is as incredible as it sounds. Buy one hero, and eat all day. They also make breakfast heroes that are about the same size. Very small, unassuming deli on the outskirts of UDel. Great place to stop for a huge meal on your way to the Blue Hens game.

Based on their hot corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, this is an unimpressive deli. Capriotti's and Primo's are much better alternatives. If you do pick up a sandwich here, I recommend calling in your order ahead of time, as service can be a little slow.

Not much to look at from the outside but it's what's inside that counts! Great hot and cold sandwiches. I've lived in DE all my life. One of the best sandwich shops around.

This is a great mom and pop shop that's been around for quite some time. They serve delicious hot breakfast and lunch food, and have a good deli selection. We came here and got sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, and they were amazing. The portions were huge too! For someone who prides herself on being able to eat, I couldn't finish this breakfast sandwich (I was so ashamed!). The service was fast and friendly (the owner apologized for the wait, but we weren't even in there for 5 minutes). What really caught my attention about this place was their huge and eclectic selection of snacks and junk food! For a pretty modest space, this place had everything you can imagine...and more! Since I've moved here from the west coast, I've noticed that I cannot for the life of me find Flaming Hot flavored Cheetos, and trust me, I've scoured every grocery store and gas station I come across. So, you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I saw them at Malin's (in two different sizes at that!). I immediately got it as a side dish to my breakfast sandwich. Breakfast of champions! :)

Malin's is a local secret that does sandwiches like they should be done. If you want take out for lunch and you don't want to deal with hitting up downtown Newark. Classic place to grab a sandwich, bag of chips and a drink.

Good deli I will definitely return to. Bread - Typical for this area of the country, softer, but fresh. Meats - Could be better, but solid and tasty. They have a unique way to keep the toppings inside by wrapping with the meat. Works well for them. Toppings - Excellent, and very flavorful and fresh. Service - Nice, succinct and fast. Location/establishment - no place to sit and eat really, just a grab and go. 4 out of 5 stars, good choice for lunch on the road.

I have been to Newark, Delaware 2 times and have had my share of subs. Mostly cheese steaks and they have all been good. I know Malin's has cheese steaks but the day I went I was craving a cold italian sub. Let me tell you, that italian sub was like tasting a piece of heaven. I told them to add everything to the sub and I ate the first half of my medium sub because I couldn't wait to taste it, I was dying of starvation at the moment. The other half I let sit for about 6 hours I let the oil and vinegar soak into the bread and it was sooooo good. The place is a little low key you wouldnt think they had such good subs in there. The service was great and the food was delicious. I just have to try that chicken cheese steak before I leave. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sandwich or sub. I have no doubt in my mind that the rest of the subs are good. Especially because the italian sub was like a work of art.

Malin's is a true joy when coming back from a drive or road trip. The Cheese Steak hits the spot every time.

This is an amazing local deli. You feel like you are walking into a small town general store, and it does take a bit of figuring out once inside. Don't be shy and step up to place your order, you can't go wrong. The subs are quite good, and they PACK them. My favorite is the chicken salad. It is all white meat chicken, just enough spices. If you get the large you will easily get two meals out if it. The breakfast sandwiches are quite good as well. The prices are also right where they should be, you will not walk away feeling like you did not get your monies worth. This place is quite easy to miss, and feels like it's more locals than students. It is easily the best Deli I have found in Delaware.

Best deli sandwiches in all of Newark! I highly suggest their specialty sandwich consisting of stuffing, turkey and cranberry sauce. Add some cheese and mayo and it is a sub sent from heaven! Every time I am in the area, I make a point to stop at Malin's. Love the "old school" feel of the shop and the friendliness of every single worker.

Great variety , Big Portions ,Good Prices. . Would have given it 5 Start but the guy that runs the counter is a rude jerk. Seems like doesn't want to bother with you unless you are a regular customer .

Great subs and cheese steaks, chicken cheese steaks, other sandwiches on a variety of rolls or breads.....and excellent made to order breakfast sandwiches (scrapple, egg, and cheese on a sub roll!!) Like an old-time deli, smell the aroma as you walk in the door. The ONLY downside is that they use the nasty "light" tuna for their tuna salad...instead of the WHITE Albacore tuna....there is a huge difference in taste and texture. Hey Malins, you'd have gotten a 5 star rating but you cheaped out...next time use the White Albacore tuna. Other than that faux pas, they are top flight.

For the most part this is your average sandwich shop that has decent subs. The key here is the homemade pulled turkey. All their turkey sandwiches are top notch and so much better than your average deli using turkey lunch meat. They may not like my next tip, but you can order the pulled turkey by the pound to go. When I used to buy it, it was 7.99/lb, which is much cheaper than the grocery store and it is real pulled turkey. I would go through 4 pounds of week of it. Total game changer for sandwiches.

This is a great local deli! I've eaten here several times since moving to Newark a few months ago. Both their hot and cold sandwiches are great (and massive)! Fresh, made-to-order, with high quality ingredients. This place is always full of regulars, which can be a bit intimidating...you really have to know what you want when you step up to order! Definitely plan on taking this to go, as there isn't any seating. It's probably not a bad idea to phone in your order, but I'm generally too lazy to do that...I just browse the bizarre snack foods on the shelves and wait for my sandwich. Great place.

The lobster bisque here is amazing. It just sells out very quickly, so I recommend, getting here before the lunch crowd. It's slammed during lunch hours and can be very hectic, so I advise people to order ahead. The breakfast sandwiches are mediocre but the staff are friendly.

Malin's is one of the best delis around. I prefer their subs over the big shops in the area. They have a huge assortment of ice cream, candy, and all kinds of junk food. Plus, they have an assortment of groceries in case you forgot to pick something up at the grocery store. If you're wondering how good Malin's is, think about this, they had a huge following of Chrysler employees, but have managed to stay in business and retain high quality since the plant closed.

F Subway. If you want a great sandwich, check out this place. By far the best cheesesteak south of Philly
