Live nearby and have eaten breakfast at this place a few times. So it's not delicious but typical inexpensive diner food. You seat yourself and it's always very crowded.

With out question THE BEAST BREAKFAST in and around the Rt 40 Newark area. Just real home cooking. Tasty pancakes and waffles to great 3 egg omelets and egg platters. The kitchen knows the difference between eggs over easy or over medium or scrambled eggs light or well done. They also serve real HOME FRIED POTATOES not that shredded potatoes junk or food service Pre cut potatoe cubes. Wonderful and fast service and great coffee to boot !

So I have to add another review. We have been going here for breakfast about 3-4 times a week. It's cheap and easy. The last five times we've ordered our eggs they have been way overdone. We order them over easy and they have been cooked all the way through and tasted like hard boiled eggs. We called several times and nothing was done by management. Well yesterday we called and left a message for the owner. I seriously doubted getting a call back. Well this morning she called my bf and let him explain what's been going on. We really enjoy the food and service and want to give them another shot. She stated she would take care of the situation in the kitchen and offered us a $50 gift certificate. I was blown away. $50?!?! My bf had to ask her if he heard her correctly. Big establishments maybe offer a free meal or dessert but never $50. She wanted to make things right for all our past experiences. We ordered our breakfast today and the total was $13. We used our certificate today and she gave us the remaining balance in cash. I was shocked. I thought she would just subtract the amount and give us a new certificate. Either way we will end up spending the money in this diner. Way to go Guildays! Customer service is definitely handled properly here! And the eggs were cooked to pperfection today!!

This is the kind of truckers-and-old-people diner that instantly plants itself in my heart. It was love at first sup for me and the chipped beef gravy.

I've just discovered Guilday's Restaurant as a great place to have breakfast. I love to go out for breakfast. I found them on Yelp and was impressed by the reviews. I went there with a friend last week and was impressed by their menu and the great prices. More importantly, the food was great and the portions are generous. We felt welcome the minute we arrived. Janice was our waitress and she is excellent. She made sure we had coffee right away, explained all the menu options and was very friendly. We loved it so much we went back today. This time I had the French Toast, it was out of this world.

Food is gross, maybe its a local thing but the only thing I liked was the toast. My "spanish" omlet was nothing more than a tough, overcooked egg with AMERICAN cheese in it, I despise american cheese. This all could've been prevented if they listed what was in their food....you know, the ingredients?? My link sausage (which I had to order separately because almost $8 only gets you a subpar omlet and soggy "hashbrowns") was undercooked, and did I mention they put WHOLE STEWED VEGETABLES FROM A CAN in my omlet?? Yeah, that too. Grossest thing I've ever been through, and the place was packed with weirdos....one dude had a top hat on, and his friend was wearing a cape...... with a wolf on it. Never have to worry about seeing me again.

Very good place for a real Breakfast and a fantastic Lunch. Nothing fancy at all and possibly leaning towards the dive side. They are very basic but good and tasty, just go for THE FOOD and enjoy !

This is our local breakfast spot. Every time we go, the servers are attentive, the orders are correct, the food comes out quickly and is always hot and consistent. The decor looks a pit hodge-podged and has a western/1980's feel to the furniture but when a place is open 8 hours or so a day and serves only breakfast, who cares?!? Coffee is decent and scrapple is always cooked up right. We keep trying different places but no where can beat Guilday's.

My first visit was several years ago. Started with coffee. Lipstick on rim of cup. This was replaced with a second dirty cup. We left. Based on current reviews I may try them again. I'll keep u posted. :-/

Old fashion country breakfast/dinner/ bar place. What you see is what you get. No complaints here. Food and staff were good and polite. The decor maybe outdated and could use overhaul, but I wasn't there for that. My son & I stopped in after his morning dental appointment, the place was busy for a Friday morning. We were told we could sit anywhere we wanted. So we took and seats and ordered the breakfast specials, 2 hotcakes, bacon, sausages, eggs and coffee, hot tea for my little guy. Total 11.50 plus our tip. My little guy loved their bacon, so he took my portions and I devoured his sausages. Food and staff "A" okay. Simple honest breakfast for a fair price, what else can you ask for?

A great hometown breakfast place. I've passed by for years and always saw a ton of cars. This morning I discovered why. The food was excellent and very affordable. Our waitress, Misty, was very sweet and attentive. She also pointed out all of the specials and signature homemade dishes. The cream chip beef and sausage is amazing. It's worth the extra time needed at the gym to burn it off. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

This place is definitely a local spot - service is not extremely friendly and the place looks like it's going to fall in on itself but the breakfast food is very good! Great steak and eggs - they need a makeover DESPERATELY

The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Finding your own seat on a busy Sunday morning can be a little complicated, but I'm willing to bet most people will trade this inconvenience for the inexpensive food. The service left a little to be desired, but the restaurant was very busy. I had hash and eggs. the hash tasted like it was out of a can. My wife's omelet however, was hearty and deliscous. We also ordered pancakes for our kids. They were good, but nothing to write home about. If you're looking for an inexpensive standard diner type breakfast, this is your place.

A family favorite! The breakfast food is tasty and the staff are awesome. The prices are what brings us back, very very reasonable. I only wish it were cleaner and updated some, but I suppose that would jack up the prices.

The menu has a good selection and the prices are more than reasonable. Cheap good-eating. It's a small hole-in-the-wall local diner-ish place. The bathroom was awful. I don't know if the matters to people, but it was a dirty single room located right next to a table and you could hear other peoples' conversations the whole time. The place is dated, but that's it's charm.

Food is ok, expect to wait 45 minutes for your food on Saturday or Sunday and longer to find a seat

What's not to love?? It's exactly what I've been looking for: A diner that does breakfast perfectly and has a homey feel. Pros: -- Cheap, we had 2 eggs, 2 hotcakes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon for $5.75!!!! -- Diner like options -- Fantastic service -- Eggs over medium, done perfectly! -- DELICIOUS and LARGE pancakes Con: NONE!

Good food, friendly people. Had a good breakfast at prime time on Sunday. Place was packed. Seat yourself but was worth the little wait we had. Will definitely be back.

Yummy breakfast. I had the mushroom and cheese omelette. The eggs were very fluffy. The meal was cheap especially compared to center city. The parking lot is tight, and the seat yourself style is a little awkward.

Found myself with a couple of hours to kill early in the morning in Elkton and ended up at this little diner. Prices are extremely reasonable, with their breakfast special (anytime before 11am) containing a little bit of everything, plus coffee or tea for only $5.75! Their French toast is also delicious, crunchy around the edges and soft and sweet in the middle. I did feel slightly out of place as I was greeted by a roomful of mid- to old-aged white males, but everyone was friendly and the food came very quickly.
