I used to go this denny's almost every day.on the late shift. When it was a corp owned store, it was ok. Now that it is franchise owned by an out of state owner, it's lousy. Too much staff turnover and fighting amoung themselves, running out of food generally poor service. Prices keep going up and items I liked are no longer on the menu. I now go only because a few of the servres I like still are there. Bob Evans , about 1/2 mile away is much better

I live less than a mile from this Denny's and haven't been in years. I was craving some diner food and decided to give them another shot. It was horrible. My friend and I arrived at 4pm. The hostess took us to a table and realized it hadn't been wiped down. We waited for her to do so. We quickly looked at the menu, inquired about the breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 toast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage....the waitress said they didn't have anything like that. Upon closer review of the menu, they do...it's the Grand Slam. How does a Denny's waitress not know about the Grand Slam breakfast??? We ordered and our food took forever to arrive. My sandwich arrived without fries. I was told fries would be another 5 minutes or I could have hash browns. I reluctantly took the hash browns as we were in a hurry. My sandwich was burnt in some parts. We paid the waitress while we ate and then never saw her again. Horrible experience all around from the service to the food. I would only go back in the wee hours of the morning when nothing else is open!

In high school and college, I used to frequent the Dennys in my hometown (Cali), but since I've moved to DE, I've only been to this location twice, once being this morning. Our waitress seemed completely clueless as to how to wait tables. We sat down and there were three of us in our party, yet she only gave us two napkins and two sets of silverware. We asked for hot sauce, and she brought us a bottle of empty hot sauce. Dropped our plates off and we didn't see her the rest of the meal until it was time for her to drop the check off. She didn't even give us a second to ask for a refill, she simply said, "you folks have a nice day!" and walked off quickly. I will say however, when we went to pay, and the manager asked "how was everything?" I asked her did she want the truth, or sunshine and rainbows? She said, "well the truth, of course!" and I told her. She seemed very open to the feedback and thanked me for it.

Poor service, chef just didn't care, no staff knew menu, nothing good to say.

This is a good solid Dennys. The staff retention is high. Within 3 or 4 visits they began treating us as regulars and sometimes throw in little perks free of charge. But realize that its about 500 yards from i95. So it does get busy. Dont walk in at 10am on a weekend and expect perfect service. It will be slammed and crowded. Also, the post bar closing scene was scary. We wanderd in after a concert up in philly and got a lot of bad vibes from the ghetto drunks who acted like we invaded their private clubhouse...sorry just reporting what happened.

It is a Denny's. Like most chains that I go to I expect a certain level of food quality. This Denny's does not disappoint. They keep the bar set at the right level and produce quality meals, deserts, and drinks. The staff was courteous despite the early hour. I would continue to eat at this Denny's, although your options after a night shift are limited.

The plus side of this restaurant is the new remodel and modern decor. The downside is the staff, I was there with my wife and son around 11pm today and the experience one of the worst I have had at this location. As soon as we sat down all you could hear was the servers complaining amongst each other about how they were short handed (which was true) and the lack of direction and help from management. Meanwhile, the manager (or so it seemed) would pop up once in a while not to lend a hand as the servers are struggling. My wife's salad came out a little old and not as fresh as I would like to see, it was limp and somewhat off color. My omelette was fine but I did not receive my toast until I was 80% finished my meal. This was due to our server doing 20 things at once and not being able to focus on her tables. The manager should of stepped in and ran the register, this would of solved the issues at hand, or so it seemed.

The last time I went to a Denny's (one that was in Philadelphia, not this restaurant), the service was so bad that I never wanted to go to Denny's again. But then Denny's tempted me with an offer of a free burger and fries, so I figured why not give this one a shot? Naturally, my expectations on entering this Denny's were very low. Well, surprise! Service was actually not bad here. In addition, the restroom was clean and the burger and fries were good enough. One caveat though: I went to this Denny's on a weekday afternoon when the customers were just myself and two other people. I have no idea if service is worse when this place is busy.

Unfortunately, the service was pretty bad when we went. We asked for a water refill before our food came out, and the waitress didn't bring it for 20 minutes, after we had all finished eating. On top of that, she got my order wrong. The food itself was decent, just what you'd expect from Denny's of which I'm an overall fan. However, if you're looking for quality food and good service, then this probably isn't the spot for you.

Showed up for a late lunch. Ordered the Santa Fe Skillet from a smiling, cheerful waitress. I witnessed a brief blur of motion that was the line cook. He had time to make one joke with the waitress, and my food was ready and piping hot. What does 'piping hot' come from anyway? While I was waiting, the manager came out and checked to see if everything was to my liking. I know that they had the advantage of me coming in during a dead time, but the meal was deliscious and service was great. Really can't complain about that.

The two young men sit in the Dennys, well after midnight. They talk wildly and scribble in their notepads. They are writing a script for a movie, which will blow everyones minds. Food and coffee get cold, victims of inspiration. The waitress doesnt even bother to see if they need anything anymore. They would go their separate ways, both on this night and in life. One, has a wife and young child to go home to. He has responsibilities that render the screenwriter dreams void. The other will follow his dream, take a few small rolls in movies and TV, work behind the scenes of a few productions and finally work making documentaries. Nothing ever became of the script..., although the family man wouldnt be surprised to see it ( or the many others) pop up in some form someday. It was this memory that pleasantly crossed my mind as I sat in a Dennys recently. The family man being a few shades greyer and a few pounds heavier than he was back then. I rarely go to Dennys. Its not a conscious decision, I just feel there are always better options. I had worked 8hrs straight through without a lunch, and I was starved and didnt feel like fast food. Not that Dennys is better than fast food, its just that I wanted to sit down and be waited on. It wasnt crowded so I was sat immediately and was able to order and get my food quickly, which was what Id hoped. The food was decent. I got a bowl of soup, rolls and meatloaf dinner for under $10. I felt it was a great deal. The chicken soup was just as good as ive had at Panera. The rolls were odd. Between the consistency and the sweet butter, they were closer to cinnamon buns (without the cinnamon). If you cant tell if i liked this or not, I couldnt either. I know my kids would have liked them. The meatloaf wasnt bad. It had to be the hardest, densest meatloaf ive ever had but it was tasty. Just a note about bands selling out. Was it really a good PR move, for bands like Plain White Tees and Hoobastank to have meals at Dennys named after them? Im sure all the elderly coulpes there for their senior menus really gave a crap about the "Plain White Milkshake" But I digress. Basically, I got exactly what I came in for. A quick meal that stuck to the ribs. I also got to relive a good memory. Ill have to get in touch with my friend, the one who left to follow his dream. The one I lived vicariously through. Ive got some good new movie ideas and he just may be in the position now to get them green-lit.

haven't been to Denny's in years, never been to this one. On a whim, we decided to go out to breakfast... This Denny's is bviously old, been there a while. Keeping place the best they could considering Clean at 6am Value was terrific, ordered off the 2,4,6.8 menu for breakfast Food was very good (except for ssg/biscuits), Eggs great, hash brown potatoes were great - cooked perfect. Pancakes were done as good as home cooked. Sausage reminded me of brown and serve, biscuits were flavorless. Service was very good, filled coffee cup several times before it ever got empty. Friendly waitress, very polite Would of given 4 stars if they weren't out of regular coffee (waiting on truck and it was 6am....personally, I would have sent employee to 24 hr grocery store and bought a can of coffee OR, made a deal with the dunkin donut in the parking lot so my customers could have am caffeine) Drank decaf, was quite tasty and fresh...just didn't wake me up

Well Denny's is a pretty standard 24/7 diner. There is not much to be said about it, nor is there much to be impressed by. I am writing this review because of my experience here. I was with 5 other friends on a day trip from Philly to DC and we passed through this city in Delaware on the way. We needed gas, we wanted to dessert and the only thing in sight next to the gas station was this small Denny's. We decided to stop by since we were tired of being cooped up in the car. The place was pretty clean, just like any other Denny's. My friend was trying to decide between a milkshake and an apple pie crumble, and I figured that we might as well ask if they could combine the two for us. Most restaurants would just shut out the idea of combining a pie and milkshake (I got the idea from Portillo's cake shake in Chicago) but the waitress thought it was an interesting idea and was 100% percent on board. It was really nice of her to do it and although it didn't turn out good, I was pleased by the fact that she tried. Good service, might as well stop by for a pit-stop if you need to.

We ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was gross. Granted it was the morning shift so people were slow but the coffee was nice. The bowls of fruit were also nice. The people in Denny's are not my favorite people but I guess I also came to Denny's so I guess I'm not my own favorite person? INCEPTION

I know what to expect from Denny's and I didn't even get that. I got the classic french toast grand slam. It took almost an hour and the mini slices of bacon and tiny sausage links had taken as much punishment as the heat lamps could dish out. Eve the eggs were tiny and overcooked. The French Toast was decent. The service was just fine. The guy who waited on us got the stars all on his own.

Right now it's 2:18 am. I enjoying the steak at this Restaurent with my nephew. Our server was Ms. Dee with a perfect pleasant attitude. I'm so happy for her service. The steak was perfect too aas we wanted. Just keep it up guys. Thanks.

  • Christie S.

My friends and I have frequented this establishment since high school. It was a place we could visit late, grab a bite, have some coffee and sit and chat. My last visit was absolutely terrible. Since my friend and I stayed longer than a meal and enjoyed coffee and conversation, we were not given great service. On our leaving, the lady who rang us up and will remain nameless had nothing but rude comments for us on the way out. I don't think I'll visit again and maybe the server will be happy to hear it, but losing customers can't be good for your bottom line. As someone who also works within the service industry, I'd be very upset to know I left someone with such a bad experience.
