The snap of the pizza crust and the warm crusty crackle rolls are what sets this pizza chain apart from the pack. The pucillo specialty pizza is a nice blend of meat and veggies. I personally love how the onions seem to be tossed on last minute and retain a bit of raw crispness to them while still having some caramelization. The Caesar salad is also fresh and well executed with the perfect dollop of dressing. The price point is more than fair and the restaurant's interior feels more like fine dining than franchise. If pressed for a downside I'd say service is on the slow side and you're lucky if you get a drink refill without asking. Heck yeah I'd go back :)

Can I give negative stars? Yuck.... ordered veggie pizza and got something that literally tasted like shit. The pizza sauce was not cooked. All they did was boil all vegetables and put that along with crushed tomatoes on a crust and called it pizza. What we saw was something that was swimming in tomato liquid. Yuck.

Best service I had in a long time! My drinks were getting refilled before I asked. Our waiter was on top of it and polite. The fire roasted green beans were amazing! Sausage soup tasted as good as it looked! :)

Went to this place only once and I had a good experience. I forget what I ordered but I remember it being dank. The reason for my review, however, is the fact that the map to this location is incorrect. The Bertucci's is not located on 201 West Main Street, Newark DE 19711, which is right near the university and is the address represented by the Yelp map. It is actually located at 201 West Main Street, Newark DE 19702, which is in a shopping plaza near Old Navy. This area is near the Christiana Mall. Just a heads up that the map displayed on Yelp is incorrect but the address is actually correct.

If I had this meal at an independent restaurant in the city I would have given it two stars, but at chains the bar is lower so the experience was adequate. I was hungry while Christmas shopping and they made me hungry no more. First, the hostess and our server were very nice and attentive. However, the server the hostess originally tried to seat is with was incredibly rude and simply told her "no I'm not helping them". He never even looked at us, so I'm assuming it wasn't personal. Just a general bad attitude. The fried mozzarella was OK. Better than a "cheese stick" but not stellar. It was cooked too fast and in too hot of oil. Instead of that nice even golden brown it was black around the edges and still soggy and barely warm in the center. The pizza verde was topped with surprisingly high quality prosciutto, but the crust was spongy and greasy. That Neapolitan style pizza should be fresh, crisp and light. My husband enjoyed his calzone, but I tried a bite and it was really heavy. All meat and cheese with very little balance.

Always great food and always great service. I wish this "chain" eatery was available in my neck of the woods!

Ignore the bad reviews, absolutely amazing! I could not believe it was a chain restaurant when they told me! Brick oven appetizers, veggies, pizza and even desert!! A friend has a brick oven pizza co and this place was almost as good and he is a bonafide chef! Service was excellent as well and good price for the food!

My favorite place to eat when in town. Service is always good, servers are friendly and the food is hot and great. The pizza is superb and believe it or not the crab cakes are really good - especially for a restaurant that doesn't specialize in seafood.

I've been to this location a couple of times for work lunches and I've never had a bad experience. Usually we have 7-10 people for lunch and the staff is very accomodating and know how to handle the larger groups. By now, everyone knows about the unlimited salad and bread deal, so I won't bore you with that information. But let me say that the bread and dipping sauce here is WAY better than the breadsticks at Olive Garden. Everytime I'm here, I get a brick oven pizza because the crust is cooked to perfection and the toppings are delicious. The last time, I got the new mushroom and asiago pizza and added grilled chicken - it was wonderful! Highly suggested.

Ate here in late Sept. Started off with warm rolls and their olive oil/spice combo - nice. Ordered the Sporkie pizza: Sweet Italian sausage with ricotta cheese, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Also had their Tuscan chicken wings: Spicy wings marinated in lemon and rosemary. Pizza was good, and I especially liked the wings: meaty, juicy, very tasty. Service was very good. I'd go back.

I know I shouldn't expect an amazing, authentic experience when visiting a franchise Italian restaurant, but I can't help but be somewhat disappointed in my recent trip to Bertucci's. I have been to other locations and with better results, so I was pleased to introduce my wife to this chain for the first time. Unfortunately, the pleasure was not mine. While our service was fantastic-efficient, friendly, and attentive- the food can best be described as "meh". You expect an Italian restaurant to get the basics right, but my pasta was way over cooked, the cheese on my plate was coagulated and stuck to the bottom, and my wife's eggplant and string beans were also over done. I would guess that the order sat under the heat lamp in the window a little too long, but that would surprise me as we were served quickly. A-Plus for service, but the food was disappointing aside from the bread.

The address is wrong. The owner should open his eyes and correct the address. You really pissed me off.

I really love this place. They tend to switch up the menu seasonally which is fine by me. I like change. In the summer they have this excellent warm spinach grilled chicken salad. The grilled lemon wedge it comes with is a must. Douse some lemon juice and you're good to go. A few weeks back a client of mine too me out to Bertuccis and the service was sort of off. We had to wait forever for our salads and by the time we took two bites, our entrees were out. The food was, as always, phenomenal, which made up for the lack of service. Last night was date night and I picked Bertuccis cause the bf has never been. Excellent server and no wait for seating. He got the grilled chicken marsala with green beans and roasted red potatoes. The chicken was so juicy, and the wine sauce was divine. Neither one of us cared too much for the green beans, they have a strange taste. I got the four cheese ravioli, which is always good. The portions are huge;it's two meals for me. One thing that drove me crazy was the manager literally walked up to every table surrounded by mine and asked what brought them out, how was the food, service, and blah blah and gave them a $5 gift card. I would have also enjoyed a gift card! But that won't keep me from coming back. I love it here.

I usually shy away from national chain restaurants. But in this case I'll make an exception. We stopped in for dinner on a recent weekend night. It was a great experience. Greeted promptly at the front door by a hostess and led to our table. Our server was efficient, friendly, and fast. Try the fried mozzarella appetizer. The chicken marsala was great, perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. The lobster ravioli was awesome, with huge chunks of lobster meat. Did not have dessert, but they all looked great. Bertucci's definitely stands out among the national casual restaurant chains. We'll be back.

Terrible service you can never find your waiter or waitress. We tried the place several times every time it's the same type of lousy service. We will never go back.

When it is not summer, I reside in Delaware. During the summer, my family resides in Ocean City, NJ. There, we indulge in our favorite pizza, Mack and Manco's Pizza. So, when it isn't summer, we normally don't eat that much pizza. That was, before we found Bertucci's. There is never much of a line and you get seated quickly. Soon after you are seated, you are given a basket of freshly baked, hot rolls (from the brick oven). They are delicious and served with a savory olive oil and garlic dipping sauce. Later, you can order a pizza or other Italian dishes. The pizzas are perfectly thin and crispy (the brick oven) and the tomato sauce and cheese are excellent. Our family has definitely found our new pizza fix for the fall. Go there now, you know you want to!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
