Just had amazing dinner Staff attentive and helpful Food delicious - we had jambalaya- every bite had something delicious in it-portion big, but ate it all anyway Get a reservation- Congratulations to the owner- it won't be long before he has a new location-he could have done twice the business..or needs to bust out the walls to let more tables in! Great dinner!

This place is AMAZING. It doesn't look like much from the outside. But it was hands down the best po boy I have ever had. Its next to a Mexican grocery store. We may not have noticed it on our own. The owner of the place we rented for the week highly recommended this place. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the service was good, and the wait was reasonable. The owner was really nice he came out and spoke to us. We loved it so much we came back the next day and got carryout for our picnic on the beach. It's on the way to Rehoboth and Lewes. They were flexible with making last minute changes to our orders etc. The price point was good for the value, quality and amount of food we got.

Excellent food! The place is small but the flavors are huge. Always check out the chalkboard for the specials.

If you've never been here and is only following the GPS, pay attention because we almost drove by looking for a stand alone restaurant. This place is in a plaza so look out for that! When we entered we were greeted and told to site anywhere and since there ws only 2 of us we sat at the 2 people table. Looking around I got a very "local mom & pop" feel from the way the place looked and the people dining there. There is a specials menu on the chalkboard by the kitchen on the way to the bathroom. Make sure to check that out! That is where we discovered their heavenly GATOR BITES $10, "NOLA" SEAFOOD BISQUE, buttermilk biscuit and cornbread. For our main entrees we ordered the JAMBALAYA and CRAWFISH ETOUFFEE. After ordering, they moved us to a larger table because everything wouldn't fit on our table E V E R Y T H I N G was delicious!! My favorite were the Gator Bites and the dip sauce. I could eat that as a snack all day! Perfectly crispy on the outside and not oily which is very important to me. The cornbread and biscuit goes perfectly with the Seafood Bisque - lots of seafood. The Jambalaya came out with shrimp, sausage and a bunch of other yummy goodness on rice covered in sauce. When I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee, I was afraid I would have to pick them out of the shells by myself. But it came out already picked and soooooo many! Thank you to whoever took all that time picking them! And everything came out steaming hot - which I love! This place is 2 hours from where I live or I would defninitely come weekly! We also heard they are famour for their Gumbo but we couldn't finish what we already ordered! I really want some of those Gator Bites right now!! ='(

I'm reluctant to leave a review for fear that I will never be able to get in to eat there again. The owner is so inviting and friendly. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere speaks for its self. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday morning. We'll be back.

Very flavourful! It just explodes in your mouth. It is one of the BEST foods I have ever tasted. I live in Baltimore and I would not hesitate to come back in a heartbeat. I was in a party of 3 and not one of our foods/orders were mediocre. I was quite surprised because it's been a while that I have been in an exceptional restaurant. I really appreciated it. Best highlight of my Bday was Po Boys! Definitely a gem!

Make a reservation! With no pretenses, this place serves great Cajun/Creole. Their gumbo is not to be missed. Family friendly. Prices and reasonable and food is fast and fresh. We went on a Sat. night with four adults and a toddler. Between us all we had gumbo, étouffée, jambalaya, blackened scallops, and a short rib po boy. No room for dessert, we were stuffed. Atmosphere is laid back and a place where you feel like you're a local, even if you're not. Come back in the winter, too. A bit slower paced and those spices in the food are needed when it's chilly out. Definitely a welcome addition to the area.

YELP, you led us to a gem again! Discovering authentic Creole food in Delaware... What a treat! Starting our meal with crawfish bisque...delectable and Fried Green Tomatoes. On to Shrimp Creole (more parmesan grits please), Crawfish Etouffee (just like NOLA), and a Blackened Catfish Po'Boy with seasoned fries...was that Old Bay that made them "more than a side"? Then to dessert...Mississippi Mudd Pie and Bread Pudding (drizzled with bourbon creme) and a to-go of Chicory Coffee. Our waitress was a dream...working front and back of the restaurant with a smile and personality that glowed. Chef/Owner Michael was here, there and everywhere... Pride in the presentation and quality. Decor was NOLA...even the ladies room had New Orleans artwork. Alcohol... Beer, wine and signature cocktails were available...not for us since we were heading to PA...a five hour drive. We will be back!

Though it may not look like much from the outside, this place is pretty good! I went with a large group on a Saturday night without a reservation and though the hostess told us originally that they could not seat us (as the place can only fit 30 people max), she got us a table within 30 minutes. The food was pretty good. Not super overwhelming with flavor, but still a great meal. The jambalaya is absolutely worth trying, as well as the poboy sandwiches and beignets if they have them! Overall, good food and good service.

Needed a lunch option on my drive back from Rehoboth to DC. Found this on Yelp! Place was empty at high noon on a weekday. Another couple walked in and ate lunch while I waited for my to go order to be filled. Walls were brightly painted and decorated with New Orleans themed masks. Place was very clean. Bathroom clean. Nice upbeat music playing. Hostess very patient. I got the friend catfish sandwich but added some shrimp. I also got sweet tea- a hard to find treat! Hands down the best fried catfish I ever had. Cajun fries were good. Cole slaw mild to almost too mild. Portion gigantic. Friend shrimp delicious. My tip would be to eat there. To go is not the way to go!! Also, they need to take a little bread out of the middle of the roll before stuffing with fried catfish, lettuce, tomato and sauce. It was a challenge to close it and eat it gracefully.

We recently went to Rehoboth on vacation, and before we left, I did some "yelping" for some good ethnic food with $$ or less and at least 4 stars. That's how we came upon this gem. Everything about the food and drink was superb. We made a late reservation and took the first available time. I got the hurricane to start off, which made me feel like I was back in NOLA! The oyster app was delish! First dipped in cornmeal, and then fried. Portion sizes were great, so we had lunch the next day. I loved the fact that you can see right in the kitchen and watch the chef make your meal. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the whole experience was excellent. Wish we could go back again this weekend! Thank you Po' Boys for a wonderful meal! Restaurants get 4 stars and above for a reason!

We came here with a small group of people, and having never had a po'boy before I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very happily surprised! We started with brussels sprouts and fried green tomatoes. The brussels sprouts are honestly the best that I have ever had, I have tried to replicate them and unfortunately always seem to fall short! I ordered the blackened chicken po'boy- the chicken was perfectly cooked and still very moist inside, the bread was amazing - I have been thinking about it since I ate here, I loved the cole slaw, and they give you a large portion of fries. Service was great and I cannot wait to come back!

Sometimes, great things show up in unlikely places. This is one of them. Knockout gumbo, po boys and stellar crawfish tails. I can't wait to try more.

We saw this place featured on the local tv station, WBOC, and decided to try it out as an early Valentines Day dinner. The Dogfish Brewery is close by and we wanted to check that out as well. We did good, I'll tell you what. We started with the Blackened Scallops at Po' Boys and those were just perfect...perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and perfectly presented. I ordered the Blackened Catfish and Cynthia ordered the Jumbalaya and we shared and loved both entrées. The server kept the tea coming throughout and we just sat there and enjoyed ourselves. Friendly, attentive staff, clean kitchen and dining area, excellent food for a modest price, and Dogfish afterwards (they serve it there at Po' Boys too). Count me as one Happy Pappy. Loving Life, Cynthia and Po' Boys too. And Happy Valentines Day.

Great authentic food and vibe with staff that is on point with the creole. An absolute must if within a 109 miles.

Gumbo....a no brainier. I ordered some to go to take with me. On my last visit I had the scallops appetizer with a side of grits to sop up the sauce that comes with the scallops. To die for. Wine list not bad and they serve beer. Don't let the dive shopping center put you off. This is the real deal

Wanted to try this restaurant to see how "cajun" it really is. Growing up summers in Louisiana, my relatives made amazing cajun food. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Crawfish Étouffée nicely seasoned and authentic! Well done - I finally found a place in the north that knows that cajun food is about flavor and not just heat! Only problem is -its small so you should make a weekend reservation.

    (4)
  • Ron R.

Saw this place online and had to give it a try. You would think you're in the middle of New Orleans! I doubt there is better cajun/creole restaurant outside of Louisiana. The Gumbo is delicious, the black bean soup was wonderful, and their cajun style calamari with etouffee sauce was perfect. Even the iced tea was above average. Did not have room for dessert, but got a bread pudding to go. They kept the bourbon creme anglais separate and provided re-heating instructions. We we be going back for dinner soon. Can't wait to try their jambalaya!

Absolutely delicious food. Shrimp po boy is fabulous. The gumbo is even better. Service was perfect and the owner Mike is very nice and gregarious. Price is right too. We will return and bring friends.

Had a really great lunch here. We had tried to have dinner on a Saturday night but it was too crowded. Fish was fresh, French fries were great and chicken and sausage gumbo was fantastic! Service was great.

Wow, this place rocks. My family and I drive to and from our place at the beach and pass through Milton frequently. We have eaten at Po Boy a couple times and love it. The food is fresh made, unique and tastes amazing. The beignets are an easy must have. We chose them as dessert. My son and I had catfish on biscuits and gravy and it was one of the best meals I have had in recent memory. Fantastic. We will be back.

One of our favorites when we are out this way. The Po Boys are fantastic and better than a lot I've had in NO. Small restaurant so come early or be patient.

  • Michael V.

As a gluten free eater, I'm a little biased on my review for Po' Boys, because I specifically asked if the French fries were gluten free and the chef assured me that they were. It wasn't until after i ate them that I was told they were fried in a single fryer along with everything else that was breaded. I got sick from this. I just really hope that Po' Boys can learn from this experience and try to understand what being gluten free really means when preparing their food to avoid any cross contamination. That being said, they prepared a gluten free version of their crab cake for me and it was delicious.

  • Patrick W.

Po' Boys is OUTSTANDING! This place is authentic as creole/cajun food can be, and is just about the best outside of New Orleans itself. Everything on the menu is delicious and done exactly the way it should be. Between our party we tried to order just about everything on the menu. WOULD EAT HERE FOR ALL MY MEALS IF POSSIBLE. All ingredients are fresh, and many are local. They even have specials based on what local produce has to offer at the moment. When I was in there last they had fried okra... Delicious. We recommend the Shrimp Po' Boy, all Po' Boys really, the Gumbo, Shrimp Creole, and all over their deserts especially the Mississippi Mud Pie. Besides the food this place is extremely well run. The staff is friendly, attentive, and they know what they're doing. The head chef comes out of the kitchen regularly to talk with customers and thank them for coming in. This is how a business should be run.

This place is absolutely wonderful! I've had the gumbo, crawfish bisque, signature blackened scallops, bayou shrimp...I'll be moving onto the Zydeco Po' Boy on my next visit. Everything is awesome...plus you'll feel like you're in New Orleans. Po' Boys is located in a strip mall with a Dollar Store on Rt. 16 in Milton, DE, but don't let the exterior fool you. This is an absolute must stop for locals and visitors alike. I'm quite sure Guy Fieri will soon be making a stop here! Make a reservation...it's small and always crowded!

We drove past this little gem on the way to Dogfish Head Brewery. It's easy to miss, but you'll be very happy if you go. We started with their signature blackened scallops which were amazing. The sauce was light and delicate and scallops were so fresh. I had the jambalaya which was delicious. My wife had the shrimp creole which was pretty special. It's hard to believe, but the grits almost upstaged the shrimp, and the shrimp were amazing. So satisfying. The weak link in the meal was the dessert. We had a piece of pecan pie which was fine, just not on par with the food that had come before it. The ambience is lovely, very comfortable and inviting. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and responsive. Don't miss this place. We're going back today for po boys!

Total find. On our way back from the beach we decided to make a pit stop and so glad we did. We had gumbo, shrimp and the brunch omelet and everything was great with real Creole flavor. I just wish we had saved room for dessert which include biegnets during brunch. Only thing missing were the floats...

Great lit bistro. Food, attention to ingredient details and SERVICE :) over and above. Location a bit out of way and not too exciting atmosphere (not huge but made it 4 star). Will def go back on way to beach.

OMG. HAPPINESS! We found this place via the yelp when visiting the area for the Dogfish tour. The food was great, the service was friendly, and our total bill for lunch was $21. I really wish Po'Boys was in MD near my home.

This is an unprepossessing little storefront restaurant that packs a huge surprise! Great creole food in Lower, Slower Delaware; who'd a thunk it. We had the Poorboy sandwiches (1 shrimp, 1 crab cake) which came with fries and home-made cole slaw. It was plenty for lunch or a light supper. There were lots of other sandwiches, appetizers and entrees too. The jambalaya at the next table looked and smelled wonderful. Daily specials are posted on a blackboard. They also do desserts and Sunday brunch. Don't be afraid if you are spice-o-phobic; the food is not overly spicy. You can add your own heat at the table. They serve a a variety of beers, wines and drinks, plus iced tea and soda. I want to try their "Swamp Water" (vodka, apricot brandy, sour mix and Sprite) sometime when I'm not driving. The place is small, no more than 36 seats tops, but take heart, they do take out. The staff were all friendly and attentive. It was crowded on Saturday night, mostly local folks. We had called ahead and didn't wait long for a table. Prices are good; we paid $21 for two po'boys and sodas. Parking is adequate in their lot out front. The restaurant faces DE 16 (Milton-Ellendale Highway or Broadkill Road) but you enter from the side street. It's about 2 1/2 miles in from the Coastal Highway, next to the Dollar General store. I definitely recommend Po'Boys for lunch or dinner. I know we will be back, packing appetite.

Went to this charming little hole in the wall for brunch. Nice creole/Cajun inspired menu. Started with the Po' Boys spicy Bloody Mary. Just the way I like 'em! Good blend of celery salt, horseradish, and worcestershire. Sunday brunch is served from 11 - 3 and features specials and the full regular menu. We started with classic beignets. Who doesn't like fried dough with powdered sugar! As a Brooklyn boy, these had a dense texture that reminded me of zeppoli. They had quite a few omelets and poached egg dishes on the brunch menu. Some with Tasso ham or crawfish tails. Some with oysters or crab cake. We went for the seared scallop and brie over French baguette with Hollandaise. Real homemade Hollandaise none of that fake crap that many restaurants serve because they're afraid to serve raw eggs. It was light and flavorful with not too much lemon. The dish was delish! The regular menu features southern classics like crawfish étouffée, gumbo, red beans and rice, and of course po' boys. We ordered some take out red beans to enjoy later with some grilled chicken. I want to go back to try some other dishes. The bread pudding looked good. It's a bit off the beaten track in Milton on route 16, about 15 miles from Rehoboth, but it's definitely worth the trek, especially for brunch. It's a tiny place with quick and friendly service.

Best creole & cajun north of Louisiana. Great food with great prices. A true hole in the wall gem. The decorations on the wall add to the New Orleans touch, as well as the New Orleans jazz in the radio. This is a must stop in your way to or from the beaches, Just look for the Dollar General sign and turn in.

Ate here 2 times in one weekend--yeah, it was THAT good. My new favorite restaurant near the beach. The shrimp creole was the bomb! The crawfish bisque--it was a little too "fishy" and chewy, but everything else was wonderful. The desserts were great too. The brunch was excellent--delicious bloody marys.

Yes, it's right near Dogfish Head Brewery and is probably your best bet to grab a meal after visiting Dogfish. Po' Boys restaurant specializes in Cajun food and is medium-sized, with some fun decorations on the wall. The vibe is casual, but the service is attentive and they take the food seriously. Was a bit of a wait for the meal, but once it came, it was clear that they had made as much of it as possible fresh, so it was pleasant surprise. Had red beans and rice with sausage. Everything had good flavor and texture ... not so much spicy as it was flavorful. Will definitely go again!

Very, very good creole food. Had an enjoyable experience. Great service. Hole-in-the-wall setting. Had Creole Shrimp (shrimp & grits) and felt like i was in Charleston. Easy to miss driving by, but don't!

Spotted this small strip mall restaurant on the way to the beach in Bethany. Stopped in on the way home for two excellent po boy sandwiches to go. Have never been to Louisiana do don't know how they compare to the original but the seafood was fresh and lightly breaded and very delicious. The overstuffed sandwiches were served on fresh french bread with remoulade or Cajun tartar and a side of very tasty crispy fries and excellent house made coleslaw.

Was here last night and it was so delish! My husband had a Dogfish beer and I had a glass of the Malbec. I ordered the house salad and my husband ordered the crawfish bisque. His soup was so good that I ended up ordering a cup, too. We both loved it! For our main meal, he got the zydeco po boy and I ordered the shrimp creole. We loved everything about this place. Service was excellent and our waitress was super friendly. We'll def be back and encourage anyone that is in the rehoboth/lewes area to give this place a try!

This relatively new entry is a winner of a restaurant. It's small--about a dozen tables--but the service is friendly and the food is wonderful. They serve a mixture of N'awlins Cajun favorites, such as Jambalya and Po Boy sandwiches and always have special offerings. Recently we had cream of asparagus soup that was fabulously rich, smooth and full of flavor. Recently they began offering Sunday brunch, as well.

A great new restaurant. The food is outstanding, the people are friendly, and the atmosphere is very New Orleans. Will definitely go back on my next trip to the area!

thanks to yelp!, this place on route 16 on way to/from Rehoboth had been on my radar for a few months. We enjoyed stopping here with our 20 yo and our 11 yo on a Sunday mid-day. We were offered both the brunch (lots of eggs benedict-type options) and lunch menus, and all of us ordered from the lunch menu. Husband and 20 yo enjoyed their blackened catfish sandwiches, although weren't thrilled with the honey-mustard sauce (in trying to avoid dairy/cream, they didn't order the other 2 options, remoulade or tartar). My crabcake po'boy was excellent although the crabcake wasn't nearly enough to fill the piece of French bread used for the po'boys (gave a lot of the bread to our long-suffering dog who was waiting under a tree outdoors). I thought both the remoulade and the tartar sauce (described as homemade on menu) were quite fine. The 11 yo is finicky, but managed to eat a portion of his blackened catfish sandwich (first time trying catfish as he normally eats broiled salmon and not much other seafood). The creole French fries were good, not too spicy, and I normally don't go near FF as they're not my fav (and trying to adopt Nancy Reagan's warning about potatoes, although still eat sweet potatoes regularly). I ate a few FF, but my husband happily finished mine and leftovers from 11 yo for dinner (re-heated at home). Only the 20 yo was able to finish the French fries as the portion of was copious compared to the size of the sandwich. Of course, even though I shun potatoes, I had to order dessert on yelpers' recommendation. The pecan pie was excellent, truly gooey and caramel-y. The waitress was absolutely lovely, and the owners appear to have been cooking and hosting that day. It was empty when we arrived at 12:30 (which surprised me given their emphasis on Sunday brunch), but was almost half-full by the time we left. Prices are reasonable, about 15%-20% less than equivalent seafood sandwiches in Rehoboth or Lewes (granted, you're next to a strip mall with a Dollar General store). They've done a nice job with the decor, including a taxidermied alligator on the wall. A keeper for our family when we're driving to/from the Eastern Shore.

What a surprise this place was! My friend found this restaurant as a convenient place to meet for lunch before heading to the Dogfish brewery tour. The menu looked tasty and affordable and we all love Cajun food. I didn't see anything on Yelp or anywhere, so I went in with low expectations. The restaurant was in the middle of a small shopping plaza with a Dollar General in the middle of nowhere. Once you get in it's a small, but cute, place with seating and the typical New Orleans decor. First, I was thrilled to see that they carry Dixie's Blacked Voodoo- a great beer that I haven't had in a really long time. I chose the blacked catfish po boy for my lunch and my friends chose the oyster po boy and red beans and rice. My catfish was cooked perfectly and served on wonderfully fresh french bread with remoulade, lettuce, and tomatoes. The sandwich was incredible! So were the crispy spiced fries and housemade cole slaw. Fantastic. The fried oysters looked delicious- cornmeal crusted and my friend was very happy with them. The red beans and rice were a little non-traditional but tasty. The consistancy was more like refried beans than the usual version but it tasted delicious and came with grilled sausages. Very good! Prices were reasonable. All in all- a wonderful experience!

If you're going to the Dogfish Head brewery, then plan you lunch or dinner here. The food is excellent - just good cajun food. The setting is nothing special, but the people are very friendly and provide excellent service. We went out of our way for the food and it was worth it. When you need a break from the same old, same old at the beaches take a little drive and come here. Oh, and don't forget the desserts. They are wonderful as well.

What a great new place! Finally, something besides pizza and wings in Milton. My family and I ate here a couple times- the crawfish etoufee was really good, and the Po'boy sandwiches are as good as any I had in New Orleans- I've only had the fried oyster one but will be back for more.

Still one of the best spots at the beach! Not much to add to my previous review. Despite the change in the kitchen the food is as good as ever. We got: Fried gator bites Red beans and rice with smoked sausage Shrimp creole with parmesan grits Crawfish etouffee Bread pudding Buttermilk pie Beignets The only suggestion I would make is that they really should offer chicory coffee a la Café Du Monde. The food is so authentic, it's a shame you can't enjoy an authentic cup of NOLA-style coffee with it. But that is a small quibble. This place is great.

Found on Yelp - this was a great find. Very modest (but clean!) building and decor but the food was awesome. Loved the vibe - staff is very friendly and patrons are all down to earth. I started with the Gumbo - it is every bit as good as the other yelpers have proclaimed. I opted for the crab cake with lemon caper butter entree - absolutely delicious. I loved the parmesan grits that came with it. It is different than other crab cakes I have had - more creamy and melted in your mouth. I finished with the Buttermilk Pie - perfect - not too sweet and just perfect.

I was relieved to find Po Boys on my way to the beach after being stuck in traffic, starving and repeatedly refusing to stop at chain fast food stops. I had an awesome fried catfish po boy. The tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato, catfish chunks lay atop the most perfect delicious pillow log of a roll. Only problem was getting my mouth around it. Cole slaw was sliced chunky and not really sweet which was refreshing. Cajun fries were well seasoned. The atmosphere is cozy and homey. Perfect hole in the wall roadside stop.

Another delicious meal! We had the zydeco platter and it was wonderful. The portion was large, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The chef came out to ask us about our meal and to thank us for coming in.

Absolutely exceptional in every way. I would take pictures of my food if I hadn't just devoured it. The seafood is all perfectly cooked, the service is speedy and the ambiance is delightful. We had the gater bites (fresh, little breading), the Cajun paelle, the crab cakes, and two po'boys. Everything was spectacular down to the coleslaw. Keep in mind they are closed Monday and Tuesday as this is a must try and you won't want to miss it.

Just had one of the best meals we have had all year! The four of us each selected something different; jambalaya, crab cakes, shrimp creole and zydeco po' boy, and each was outstanding. Juicy meaty crab cakes, huge quantities of shrimp and creamy grits were but a few of the highlights. The fried Brussel sprouts and fried green tomatoes were amazing. And our server was sweet, attentive and enthusiastic. Loved everything!

  • Kevin C.

Excellent food!! Our group got several po boys, gatorbites, fried green tomatoes, and the brussel sprouts. Everything was so great, i cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. We drove 45 minutes to get here, it would be worth twice that. Shrimp po boy - 9/10 Crawfish po boy - 9/10 Blackened chicken po boy - 9/10 Blackened catfish platter - 9.5/10 Gatorbites - 9/10 Brussel sprouts - 8/10 Tomatoes - 8/10 Remoulade - 9/10 And the beignets are just unreal. The service was also excellent and they were very pleasant to us during our entire dinner. What a treat!

Very tasty seafood at a small hole in the wall location with average prices. Facilities are lacking but worth the visit. Fried fish sandwich with Cajun fries were very good. Salad with blackened cat fish was generous. Kiddie meals well worth the price. Overall good experience. It is kind of small for big families.

Wow. A whole group of us (11 people) had just arrived into Milton for our summer holiday and no one felt like cooking. We ordered take out Po' Boys and EVERYONE was left super satisfied with their order. These sandwiches are incredible and I really wish I lived close enough to come back here everyday.

A rainy drive down to Delaware ended at 11am at Po' Boys Creole and Fresh Catch. My gentlemen and I walked in there bleary-eyed at 11:15 and there were already two tables taken. And within twenty minutes, almost all the tables were full. I ordered the crawfish po' boy and it did taste a bit fishy. Not a good sign for freshness but plentiful with flavorful remoulade sauce and epic old bay seasoned fries. I wish I would have gone with a more local fish rather than the crawfish. I had fried oysters to start and they tasted of the sea! Super fresh! But overall, delicious and plentiful.

Underwhelming. Got the special sliders of the day and a fried oyster poboy. We are used to some Cajun goodness after growing up in MS. I wanted to love it. My kids wouldn't touch any of it.

Welllllllllll if you want some amazing food and awesome friendly service in the middle of nowhere this is your place. I broke my diet rules and had the scallop and spinach app and the red beans and rice. When I was done there was nothing left. It was that damn good. You won't be disappointed here, trust me.

Excellent cajun food in the middle of Delaware !! I had the Zydeco Po Boy (Shrimp, crab cake and oysters) and it was DELISH !!! All three meats were nicely fried, not too greasy, not too oily. The shrimp was so juicy, tender and moist, I can still taste it !! YUM !! The crab cake tasted like real crab meat and it was nicely grilled !! The fries were crispy and nicely seasoned !! A winner !!!

Drinks: spicy Bloody Mary, mimosa - perfect way to start Ordered the beignets, light & sweet Brunch: poached eggs with crab cake & andouille & jack cheese omelette, all were cooked perfectly & tasted great. It was a good way to start a Sunday morning/noon!

My daughter and I lived in NOLA for 5 years her boyfriend lived there for about 7. This food rivals any I had in New Orleans. The service is fantastic and the owner/chef greets every table personally. Most defiantly recommend and will go back there next year when we go back to Delaware.

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! Scarfed down dinner with you last night and am craving your food today! Hard to choose what we loved the most---the Blackened Scallops, Fried Oysters, Zydeco Po Boy or Shrimp & Andouille Penne? Everything SO fresh---the scallops and oysters were hands down the best we have ever had anywhere! Chef should teach people everywhere how to delicately fry shellfish---just perfect---better than any 5-star restaurant. Bringing more folks with us so we can try MANY more dishes! Just thrilled that Rehoboth Foodie turned us on to Po' Boys Creole & Fresh Catch!

LOVED IT!! Visited this past weekend with my boyfriend and his family (who had been there before and couldn't wait to take us!) Snacks were the intention, but it kind of turned into a meal b/c we wanted to try a bunch of stuff. The Gumbo is, without a doubt, the best I ever had. It was thick with goodies, and perfectly spicy. We were all talking about it the rest of the day! I'm not a crab gal, but everyone else was raving about the blackened soft-shell crab sandwich. We were not planning to get this, but the owner came over to the table and told us all about it. He told us how he sourced his fish, and provided a detailed account of how he was preparing it. He was so enthusiastic and earnest that we decided to give it a try. The crab was big, fresh, and delicious! We also sampled The Alligator Bites, and Fried Brussels Sprouts (DELICIOUS!). The atmosphere is very casual- bright and clean, but certainly not fancy. The staff were all the perfect amount of friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This will definitely be a mandatory stop on all of our visits to Milton, DE.

Po'Boys rocks the food! Chief Mike is the best cook on the shore. Authentic Louisiana Cuisine. Outstanding place to eat!

From the outside this place is not inviting but I saw all the good reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try. I was very happy with my meal. I tried the shrimp in Creole butter with grits. For dessert I recommend the pecan pie. Service was very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is casual and fun. The walls are covered with memorabilia from New Orleans.

We stopped here on the way to Dogfish Head Brewery. I ordered the Jambalaya and it came with a generous serving of all of the meats. I normally don't like sausage, but I just couldn't stop eating it in this dish! Everything was fresh and delicious! It was perfectly spicy, and the flavors were delicious! It looks like a place you might not want to order seafood, but just give it a try if you're in the area. This is the best Creole/Louisiana style restaurant I've experienced thus far. Bonus: They also serve Dogfish Head and some other craft beers!

The less-than glamorous exterior and humble decor of this gem disguise what may be the best Cajun food I've had. The service was warm and friendly, and everything we ate was amazing. I had Maryland Crab Soup (so many fresh, crisp veggies and just the right amount of crab), a catfish po boy (to DIE for- the bread was crusty yet soft, the catfish delicious and generous and the remoulade...don't even get me going on the deliciousness of the remoulade!), and a side of fried Brussels sprouts. The Cajun fries were hot and perfectly spiced as well. I can't give a good enough review of this place!!

This place is the real deal. I'd never had a Po' Boy before, and I'd never tasted crawfish either. I decided on a cup of the gumbo (delicious!) and a fried crawfish Po' Boy. I chose the remoulade sauce as an accompaniment to my sandwich, and a good dipping sauce for my fries! I wish I'd had time and room in my belly for the desserts, the buttermilk pie sounded phenomenal. I will absolutely return to this low-key, friendly, authentic restaurant.

You will not be disappointed. Today's special was a melt in your mouth braised short rib po boy. Lettuce, tomato, and a creole cream cheese spread. And a side of oven fried brussel sprouts with grated parm. So tasty and fresh!

My BF and I took a chance with this place while staying in Milton. Amazing food and the most friendly staff. I had the shrimp po boy and it was great. So fresh and tasty. The owner/cook came out and greeted everyone and asked how the food was. He also cleaned the tables, which i thought was very nice of him. He took great pride in his place. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I don't know anything about po' boys or Louisianian food, but I found this enjoyable, though very heavy. I'm not a big fan of fried stuff, but po' boys I'm assuming are intended to be fried. This was spicey in a good way.

Very good zydeco po boy. Combo of all seafood. Also tried the parmesan grits which were fine more on the dry side but still tasty. They had good fries and fresh slaw accompanying the po boy. environ very low key near dollar general store. Neighborly service with decent offerings. Would have liked to try bignets but only offered for sunday brunch.

We found this on Yelp on our way to the beach. I got the gumbo, fried brussel sprouts & a piece of cornbread. The gumbo was the best I've had, even better with Tabasco, which is at every table. Big thumbs up on that! The cornbread was dry, I left it untouched. The sprouts were amazing with Parmesan cheese and cooked to crispy greatness. The fiancé got a crawfish po' boy. It had creole mayo but it was used sparingly and he said it was pretty dry, but the crawfish was good. We also got beignets, which I've had at other places and these did not live up to my expectations. They were hard and difficult to cut, maybe fried too long? Other ones I've had melt in your mouth and are a cloud of dough. I think baking may not be the chef's strong suit, but everything else was really good! The waitress was a little curt when we first came in and didn't smile until after we got our food, not overtly rude, we just got the feeling we were an inconvenience, then she became nicer as we were finishing up our meal. She was super sweet to a couple who were there before us, she brought the chef out and he was extremely accommodating to them. A word of advice, if there are only 2 couples in your establishment and you roll out the red carpet for one, be a little nicer than usual to the other pair who can see/hear everything. I'm still really glad we ate here, the food was great except for a few things, but it just made me feel a little bad about the interaction after the fact.

If you are looking for really good tasting food on your way to the beach, this is it. The Po Boys are great The shrimp is cooked perfectly, fresh lettuce and tomatoes with a nice sauce. The rolls and bread are always fresh and tasty. The soups are to die for. And if you want to work off a few extra calories, try the Mud pie. From the road, Route 16, it looks like a roadside dive. Casual and small inside, but the service and food are very good. Try it !

Po' Boys is a wonderful, small restaurant located in a strip mall on Rt. 16. Don't be put off by the exterior ;just walk in and be prepared for a unique taste experience. If you want something different from standard beach fare, this is the place. I love the shrimp Po Boy; overstuffed shrimp on a fresh french roll with remoulade sauce- fantastic. The Crawfish soup is loaded with crawfish and veggies. The gumbo is great, if they have it try the seafood gumbo, you will be happy that you did! The scallops are always fresh and cooked to perfection with a lovely sauce. All of the appetizers are scrumptious. They serve a variety of beer and the specials change daily. And then there is dessert. I am addicted to their Mississippi Mud Pie, which has some kind of shortbread crust, chocolate mousse filling and fresh whipped cream with powdered cocoa on top. Rich, decadent but surprisingly not overly sweet. The pecan pie is also delicious; again, not cloyingly sweet but very satisfying. The staff is wonderful. They are pleasant and knowledgeable about their food. The best! Po Boy's also serves Creole Sunday Brunch, which I have never tried but have heard it is an epicurean delight. This is not a fine dining restaurant, no tablecloths and fancy decor but if you want a really good meal in the Lewes Rehoboth area, this is the place.

Went to the grand opening for the new owners, and it did not disappoint. I dined on classic creole dishes that were perfectly prepared. I was particularly impressed with the hot raspberry vinegar BBQ sauce that made the pulled pork sing in my mouth. Washed it down with some tasty Dixie beers. The staff is helpful and entertaining. I will definitely return time and time again.

Been stopping by here on the way home from Dewey Beach the past month. Excellent oyster po boy and zydeco po boy! Their soups have been awesome, the crawfish bisque, seafood chowder, and gumbo have been excellent. Tried their crawfish and jambalaya plate and I highly recommend it. Washed it all down with a nice cold purple haze beer. Friendly staff and great service and even better food!

Awesome find in Milton! Came here with a group of 6, while looks on the outside can be deceiving, this place is awesome. A couple of us had the shrimp po boy while my boyfriend had the catfish po boy. The crawl fish bisque and sausage and chicken gumbo was so so good. No complaints from anyone and definitely left us wanting more. Oh and the fries are amazing too!!

From the outside you expect this to be a to go establishment but inside it is tasteful, fun, and efficient. This place was jumping on a Friday night. Most cars were DC, MD, and VA. I think people stop here on way to beach houses. Fantastic food. Gumbo, crayfish, oysters, shrimps - such a New Orleans menu and excellent quality. It will become our drive through for sure!

Don't let the fact this this little road side eatery shares a driveway with Dollar General discourage you from stopping here. It's cute, clean and serves large portions of good food. I ordered the fried po-boy and my husband got the fried oysters po-boy, along with a side order of the beignets. We thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches and could have -- and (according to our expanding waistline -- should have split a sandwich because the portions are large. The service is friendly. As another reviewer notes, the owner came out and asked how our food was and he was friendly and chatty with other customers that were apparently locals and regulars. All-in-all this reminded us of the quaint, family-owned places that probably existed before chain- owned casual dining restaurants started to dominated. I'd much rather dine here over a chain any day.

I've been to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast quite a bit. Po Boy's nails it. The problem I have when I go there is I want everything. The muffaletta is back so I had it twice. Their shrimp Creole is my goto. Absolutely delicious. Gumbo is excellent too. Cold Purple Haze in a frosted mug to chase the muffaletta down. Was worried when new owner took over on January second but all is good in the world. They need to franchise west of the Bay Bridge, say in Frederick, MD.

The wife and I were recently on a beer/baseball tour that took us to the great state of Delaware (Dogfish). We made the drive from Washington DC to Milton and had about an hour to kill before our Dogfish Head tour when by sheer luck we happened upon this fine establishment. Creole in Delaware? Oh yes! I had an oyster po'boy that bursted with oysters. Literally, the filled the po'boy with oysters then kept pilling onto my plate! The flavors were fresh, tasty and delicious. This place turned our 2 1/2 hour drive attitude into euphoria. Check it out and call me a liar. Great place!

My husband found this place on the Food Network's website and has been determined to try it out. We visit Delaware (from Chicago) at least once a year and this time around, we made it a priority. Glad we did!! They didn't disappoint. He ordered their chicken andouille and he said that it was just the right amount of hot (spicy) so that you can still taste all the ingredients. He also ordered the Fried Catfish Po' Boy with seasoned fries and coleslaw. I ordered the Lump Crab Cake entree with parmesan grits and vegetable du jour. Both our odrers were excellent! Super tasty and just the right amount for serving size. For dessert, we shared Chef Lee's pecan pie and their homemade chocolate mud pudding. They were both absolutely amazing! The pecan pie wasn't overwhelmingly sweet (which I do like anyway!) and the added whipped cream just made it so much tastier. Can't wait for our next visit because we are definitely coming back here!

Color me surprised, that the best Louisiana food outside of the state can be found in tiny Milton, DE. This restaruant should be considered a MUST STOP on your way to and from the popular Delaware beaches. This cozy little blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot is a true joy. There is a nice selection of beers, including my favorite - Abita Purple Haze - at this family-run establishment. The staff was friendly and helpful and OMG OMG OMG the food. My crawfish po-boy was dressed to perfection and the cajun fries were perfectly spicy. And, the coleslaw! I don't know what magic was in the fresh and delightful recipe, but it was mighty good. Do yourself a favor and add this spot to your beach itinerary. You will not be disappointed and for the duration of the meal, I guarantee you will be transported to New Orleans.

What a delightful surprise in an off-the-beaten path strip mall in Milton Delaware! The Cajun themed decor was charming - alligators, Mardi Gras beads, and local art covered the colorful walls, AND our waitress was great. My husband and I each had po'boys (oyster and blackened catfish respectively) - my oysters were delish - truth be told I took them off the bread and ate without as I thought the role was too much (a crispier baguette would be my recommendation). Tasty cole slaw and a ton of fries came with the po'boy. New Orleans beers abounded - Abita and Dixie - and then of course Milton's own Dogfish Head which can't be beat. To note, they also have a kids menu. 09/2012 - Got to try the brunch and enjoyed very much - I had poached eggs with asparagus - the size was adequate, but I would have liked more (or more substantial) bread (here I go about bread again!) to accompany the perfectly poached eggs and their accompanying hollandaise sauce. This is a charming restaurant with equally charming service.

I am a traveling salesman and I use Yelp to save me from the monotony of chain restaurants. This restaurant is a prime example of why I use Yelp. A little off the beaten track and probably a drive by if I didn't see the excellent reviews. When you enter the first thing you notice is how clean it is. The staff was friendly and helpful but most importantly the food was excellent. I had the crawfish chowder to start, it was loaded with fresh ingredients and not too creamy which let's the flavors shine through. I then had the catfish poboy. It was a huge sandwich that was as good as any I have had. It came with a large side of seasoned fries. I also had the collard greens which were right up there with the best I've had. If you are anywhere near the town of Milford you have to stop in.

I have been to so many restaurants in my life but this place is near and dear to my heart. I usually get a crawfish Po Boy and cup of gumbo. Do yourself a favor and try this place if you haven't or if you're considering it. If i could give it 10 stars I would. Hospitality is the only thing I would knock. Usually it's on point service and they are wonderful every single visit except this last. I would just be more attentive of that minor detail. Every aspect of the food is still perfect. BEST PLACE TO EAT IN DELAWARE!

Ate here about a month ago and was VERY impressed. THE BEST jambalaya around. A very unassuming place, easy to miss, but absolutely worth looking for!!! Staff was super friendly and genuine, not forced to wear stupid "french quarter" black stockings or outfits. This is the real deal and they need to have as much business as possible. I can only hope that they could expand and open a place up near Wilmington. This is the perfect experience with the food to match. Excellent gumbo, and if I didn't mention it before... THE BEST jambalaya anywhere around here. Make a special trip... you will not be disappointed.

We were headed from Rehoboth Beach back to DC and were starving, so we stopped here. Everything was absolutely delicious! I had the day's special (fresh fish with grits and broccolini). It was some of the best seafood I've ever eaten. A little pricey but well worth it! Our server told us that the chef catches his own fish, which is really cool! And, they have SWEET TEA! Be still, my Southern heart! Will likely stop here again if we go to the beach.

Absolutely The Best! It's small, noisy, and excellent! Cajun and creole at it's best! The chef/owner creates great specials daily. One is more delicious than the next. Maybe the best gumbo ever. The service is terrific. The waitresses are fun, lively, and knowledgeable. A nice beer selection, too. Scallops, snapper, and shrimp all beautifully prepared and served. Tonight's special was a good example. Blackened Red Snapper over dirty rice topped with an étouffée sauce and a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. One of the most flavor packed dishes I've tasted. Susan had their scallops. Jean had shrimp. Bill had gumbo. Everyone agreed that it was perfect. Time after time, the food is always worth the trip. Perfectly delicious.

Simply amazing! We are visiting family for the long holiday weekend and had to come and eat here. We came once before a few years ago and it's still as amazing. We started with the scallops with a side order of the parmesean grits it was amazing (I know I keep using this word but that's how it is) together. For entrées we ordered the shrimp Creole and the halibut special. Both orders were great. For dessert we ordered the beignets and the rice pudding. Beignets were as if I had them in New Orleans (well almost as good). The service was on point. Absolutely no complaints from us and we will definitely be back
