This place is great! Came here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Best carbonara I've had in a long time! The fried mozzerella was really good for an appetizer. I would definitely eat here again and bring some friends or family, too.

We always visit this restaurant when vacationing in Bethany Beach. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. It is located a short drive west of Bethany Beach on Route 26. We all ordered pasta bolognese along with an order of calamari fritti. The calamari was lightly coated and very tender. It came with three dipping sauces. The generous portion of pasta bolognese was outstanding - even better than the bolognese that I had in Italy which was awesome. Prices are reasonable and reservations are accepted.

Went with my hubby and parents for our nice dinner out during our beach vacation. It's a small and popular restaurant so reservations fill up fast. We managed to secure a same day 5:30 reservation on a Thursday. It's a cute little restaurant and all enjoyed their meals. We started with bruschetta - delicious. I had the chicken marsala which was excellent and just the right size. Hubby had a chicken and pepperoni pizza, mom had chicken parmesan, and dad had eggplant parmesan. Everyone cleaned their plates! My dad and I enjoyed a glass of the montepulciano (red wine). Service was friendly and prompt. A nice choice for dinner out on vacation!

The food here was amazing. I got a scallop special and I wish I had more scallops they were perfectly cooked and the sauce on top was delicious. Not too salty, but just right. I did get a weird salad for an appetizer that I wouldn't get again but my mom got the bruschetta which was also amazing! The loaf of bread that we got at the beginning wasn't anything to ride home about (a little hard) but the scallop entrees definitely made it all worth it. I would definitely go back!! Also for anyone who likes to eat healthy it was a little difficult to find a dish that wasn't loaded with carbs. If you love authentic pizza and pasta and Italian food it is perfect for you, but I prefer seafood without pasta and got lucky that the specials menu had scallops. The reason I won't give it five stars is because we asked to be seated and they told us they didn't have any availability at first (even though the restaurant was completely empty). It was just me and my mom and they sat us at the end of a 6 person table because they didn't have a two person table open. It didn't bother me but it could bother some people I think. So I would definitely make a reservation if you want to eat here.

Over-hyped attempt at Italian food. We've been twice, the second time hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt. Underwhelming food, poor value, an odd smelling kitchen aroma, and quite an unwelcoming atmosphere in the dining room. The first time we were actually asked to vacate our table to make room for the next reservation. That's probably the lowest class move that any host or hostess can make. Skip this place. I understand the owners had another restaurant in the area but that one is no longer open.

Seated right away, water off the bat, bread after ordering of appetizers and starters. Appetizers took awhile to come out, an order of meatballs, bruschetta, and one Caesar salad, came out approximately twenty minutes after ordering them. Five minutes prior to the appetizers arriving our party of six began ordering. First off, no substitutions allowed at all (on their specials menu); secondly, forty minutes after opening (at 5pm) and when we were ordering, I was told they were out of Lasagna, this is an Italian restaurant is it not? A signature meal of many Italians is the ultimate casserole, Lasagna, and they were out of it shortly after opening. Out or never made, makes you think. And apparently it wasn't ever made today, it was however made yesterday, of which only four portions were sold that night, and like any consumer of lasagna, it keeps. Thus it begs the question, what happened to the leftover lasagna?! One meal, halibut should've been the first out, but no it wasn't, in fact even after ten minutes after all the other meals were served, extra fresh shaved parmesan cheese. Not until one of our party confronted the owner did the halibut arrive, undercooked mind you. One of the other party members ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which is supposed to come with two whole meatballs, no it came with two halves of one whole meat ball. The risotto that came with the halibut, on a separate plate which I ate, was dry, slightly over cooked and grainy. The owners did make amends, hey comped a good portion of the bill, two free deserts, and a fifty dollar gift card. Though the goodwill of the ownership, may give one cause to return; I for one will not return, nor will three other members of my party.

We just got home from dinner here and everyone in my family is trying to figure out how soon we can go back! My 7 year old son has celiac disease AND he is a terribly picky eater which makes dining out with him a serious challenge. I looked up the restaurant's menu online out of curiosity and when I saw they had gluten free pasta I knew we had to go. The food was excellent and the server was knowledgeable and helpful in a way that made me feel secure that my child's food was safe. My husband had the salmon special served over pesto risotto with squash straws. My 10 year old had another special, penne bolognese sauce made from rib eye, NY strip steak, and filet. I had the fettuccine carbonara. My son had gluten free fettuccine with butter and freshly grated pecorino romano. My husband and I both had Caesar salads. For dessert my daughter had cheesecake, my husband and I shared a tiramisu, and my son had a gluten free chocolate torte with creme anglaise. They brought our decaf coffee to the table in individual french presses with an egg timer to tell us when to press and pour. Every was delicious, not over seasoned, with fresh flavors, excellent presentation, and attention to detail. We arrived at 5:40ish mid-week and were seated immediately. Our food was prepared quickly but not so fast as to make us feel rushed. As we ate the restaurant began to fill up and by the time we left at 7:15 there was only one free table inside and many of the outdoor tables were filled. We are really so pleased to find a restaurant nearby that serves such good food and also has a gluten free menu with kid friendly foods like pasta on it. It's rare to find and while many people think gluten free is a fad for our 7 year old it is really extremely important to his health. We will be going back again soon!

Great food, amazing atmosphere. They make you feel like you're just another place setting at nonna's table on a Sunday. Food was delicious, well flavored, and presented beautifully.

Not worth the drive outside of Bethany or the money. Staff is rude. Cooks are mean and owner doesn't care/ hasn't improved quality in the years they've been there. Has now surpassed Difebo's arrogance. Down at our house for the weekend and just paid $30 for pasta and red sauce to go. They made me pay extra for toppings that weren't included when I arrived home. They were closed by the time I got home (. 9pm) on a Saturday - so there's no one to resolve the issue. Will be going to Pie in the future for pizza and will suck up Difebo's snootiness for pasta.

Had a great meal. Fettuccine with pesto and hot sausage. Great taste, not over salted like most Italian restaurants.

This was a great intimate restaurant with charm. I had the Egg Plant Parmesan which was excellent. Service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to go back again.

Just ok. Food is subpar mostly because Tom sauce tastes like it is out of a can w/out any of the Italian flavored one should expect garlic/basil/oregano. The penne is out of a box and although the manicotti had fresh crepes, why crepes and not traditional pasta rolled? Makes me wonder if there's any good Italian at the beach. Difebo's was even worse as this is ok, but neither place will I go back to

My husband and I are locals, and tried Perucci's for the first time off season. They had a 3 course meal special that we thought would be a great way to try this restaurant for the first time. Well, the portions were small. Really really small. We wound up buying a pizza to share at the end of the meal because we were still hungry. And the waitress did not bring us bread, so literally, we were super hungry after our meal. With that being said, the food itself was good and creative. Nice flavor, different twists on common dishes, fresh taste. So I am giving this 3 stars with the assumption that the portions outside of the 3 course meal are bigger. If not, I would say skip it because the prices are not cheap (20.00 and up for entrees). Service was outstanding and the place is cute, but super small, as small as the portions on the tasting menu...lol.

This is a cozy, date-night restaurant with authentic Italian food. You will quickly make friends with the people at the table next to you; it's that intimate. This is a wonderful dining experience for a food and wine lover that enjoys a lively, casual atmosphere

We arrived at the beach and called for a reservation on Friday evening before Memorial Day. They could take us at 9 PM. We went a bit early and enjoyed glasses of wine outdoors. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our table inside this charming brick structure was very comfortable. The Italian menu was filled with a great selection of choices. The penne with peppers and hot Italian sausage was excellent. Unfortunately, we were too full for the tiramisu! As we departed we saw it and it looks fantastic...so it's on the list for what will definitely be "next time."

This is my 2nd time here. We were here on vacation last year and we got the same dishes . It was every bit as good which is a great thing consistency in quality is a good thing . Here comes dessert.

Happened upon Perucci's, what a great surprise. We started with a white pizza as a shared appetizer for the table, it was magnificent. Crisp crust, almost like flatbread; cheese was perfectly browned and perfectly flavorful and balanced. Followed with a ceasar salad, nicely dressed, crunchy, garlicy croutons. For mains we shared a salmon with lemon risotto and the eggplant parm, both nicely prepared and seasoned. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Great choice, we'll go back.

Not much going on here. My veal marsala was a tasteless veal patty swimming in marsala wine. Zero effort or imagination on the part of the kitchen. Other meals at the table were ordinary at best. A simple request was off-handedly denied by the waitress without checking with management. They do have an adequate wine list . The place is tiny and cramped. I would guess the the popularity is due to the lack of italian restaraunts in the area. Peruccis is a diner masquerading as an upscale establishment. Avoid unless starving.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant since we moved to the area. We've always had great service and great food. Tonight was certainly the exception. Food was good but the service was terrible. Our server was not pleasant in the least, did not mention the specials, and did not seem interested in us at the least. At the end she comes to our table and says, "you seem like you are full, I'm not going to mention dessert". Actually, yes I would like to see a menu. Seriously?! Then she gives us the check it has her name written on it and hand written tip amounts. As if we can't calculate an appropriate tip. She dropped off the check without a word and we stayed for at least 15 minutes and she never came back to the table or said good bye or asked if we needed anything else. All in all, I'm really irritated that we gave her one of the "suggested" tips. I expected more of this restaurant.

Just OK. For the price you don't even get a salad with your entree. Small portions for the price. The taste of the food was excellent. Service was also excellent. The tab for four people people was 200.00 and I left hungry.

Was in Bethany with the family for our kids' spring break week. Went to the restaurant last Tuesday night for dinner. Had never been before. Very mixed experience. On the plus side... We enjoyed the food. For our entrees, we ordered three pasta dishes and one pizza. Everything tasted great. We especially enjoyed the meatballs we ordered with the pasta. We also liked the ambiance. It's an older, brick building that's been re-purposed into a restaurant. The place has a nice charm to it. On the other side of the equation... The restaurant is small. There are a few too many tables shoehorned into the space. Be prepared to be no more than an elbow away from the folks at the next table. Everything was very slow. The total time from when we were seated to when we received the bill: 1 hour and 40 minutes. We only ordered one salad and four entrees, along with a bottle of wine and a couple of sodas. That's it. We were looking forward to ordering their tiramisu for dessert (had been recommended by a friend). By the time we were able to order dessert, they were out of tiramisu. Come on, Perucci's. This is your signature dessert. The food prices are a bit high. The wine prices border on the egregious. On average, the prices on the wine list are roughly 3.5 times the retail price. Expect to pay $30 to $35 for a very mediocre bottle of wine that retails for only $8 to $10. Overall, Perucci's is the kind of place we'd want to be more enthusiastic about. But there are other places in Rehoboth and Bethany that offer food that's as good and an experience and value that are better.

Just went here the other night for the first time and had a very nice experience. The place is very quaint and small, which adds to the ambiance of the old brick italian building. To start, I got the calamari, which came with three different sauces : marinara, lemon curdle, and some other yellow sauce which was spicy. All three were great but I could've used a bit more of the sauces, considering the give you a lot of calamari. The calamari itself was good, but nothing amazing. For an entree, I got the salmon, served with a pesto, some spinach, and a polenta. It was great as I was expecting and finished it off in a few minutes. My mom got the pasta with veal in a mushroom sauce, which I also tried a bit of. It was great as well; the veal was extremely tender and everything went well together in the dish. To finish, I got a piece of the tiramisu. The one they gave me was HUGE and it was immaculate. It was moist, creamy, and overall amazing. When we left, we passed the open kitchen and some of the cooks talked with us, which made the meal a bit more personal than any other restaurant. Overall, the meal was great, and I can't wait to return and try something new; However, I hope to get more tiramisu!

Excellent Italian food! The "Sunday sauce" is wonderful, full of flavor. Meatballs- the best! Lasagna- haven't tasted that good in a long time. Well worth the visit- small but quaint.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
