I haven't stayed here; I only live about 20 minutes away. What I have done is spent a few hours painting in their garden as part of a watercolor journaling workshop at the art league down the street. After we finished painting, the two gentlemen who run the B&B gave us a tour of the house, and shared a little of the history of the house with us. It's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Antiques and stained glass windows, crystal chandeliers and coffered ceilings, ornate carpets and hand carved trim. I've stayed in several B&Bs over the years, but I've never seen one this beautiful. Apparently they were featured in a book called "Painted Ladies", and they have a copy of it there, but I was busy gawking at the decor and didn't look at it. The hosts were wonderful and friendly, and youngish compared to other B&Bs we've frequented, although maybe it's just that I'm getting older myself. :/ One of the hosts mentioned that they may at some point start offering a stand-alone breakfast for people who aren't staying overnight. If they do, I'll be all over that! Meanwhile, now I know where to call if I have out of town visitors to put up and my guest room is already full. Their rates ($120-160) sounded very reasonable. And one of the rooms is available as a suite with two bedrooms and a shared bath (I forget how much the rate for that arrangement was) if you're traveling with a larger party who doesn't mind sacrificing a bit of privacy. Highlights, for me, included the pond with waterlilies in the garden, the garden/patio areas in general, the little nook in one of the rooms and the tower balcony in another, and the absolutely amazing antique details, from the wallpaper, to the lights, to the furniture. And the stained glass, almost everywhere. I didn't inquire in detail, but the plumbing appears to have been sufficiently modernized and I noticed that there were dehumidifiers in several rooms. I think I overheard that the sleeping rooms are also air conditioned, although it was unoccupied at the time, so if so, it was off. I added a bunch of cellphone photos that I took during the tour.

We stayed at The Towers for vacation last week...A-MAZING! We were greeted by Chris and David, given a tour of the property, and shown our room...which was beautiful. Claw foot tub, stained glass, and the most comfy bed we've slept in away from home. Great recommendations for places to eat and see, and excellent breakfasts. The only minor issue we had was sketchy Internet, but that was fine too because we weren't there all that much. Highly recommend this b&b is you are in the area..

One weekend my friend Ashley and I wanted to get out of town. We wanted to stay at a nice bed and breakfast---but we didn't want to be right in the action of the beach and tourists. This was the perfect location--and while we were looking for romance--we would have found it here. The decor is all antique--and very nicely done. We stayed in the Birds Nest Suite, which was so named because there was a little door in the corner that lead out to one of the "towers" and there were birds nests there. The grounds were really peaceful and the couple that owns it were really nice. They cooked up an elegant and tasteful breakfast to boot. In easy walking distance to a few restaurants in town--this place is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of Dewey or even Lewes.

I stayed in The Towers for my birthday. I saw this place a few years ago and it looked like a castle. Since I believe I am a princess, I knew this was where I belonged. And I was right. I was treated like a Queen here. The place is absolutely gorgeous. There are not enough words or space for me to gush all over the decor. i can't do it justice. You have to see it. You have to EXPERIENCE this place. The stained glass windows, the deep detailed wood, the beautiful tapestry. The place is warm and inviting. You feel welcomed as soon as you arrive. We stayed in the Rapunzel suite. It has a little door where you can step out onto the balcony of one of turrets and look over the quaint little town of Milford. The room was warm, comfortable. The bathroom was small but nicely updated and good hot water flow. Towels are thick and comfy. NO TV, but if the place make you want to watch TV instead of doing "other things" than you have bigger problems. Breakfast the first day was savory, cheesy sausage quiche with fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice and delicious coffee. Breakfast the second day was perfect waffles, crispy outside, chewy inside, nice and thick with citrus syrup and fresh strawberries with homemade whipped cream. I cried when I had to leave, and have already made plans to return. The entire town of Milford was just beautiful. If not having a TV really bothers you, check out a play at the Riverfront Theater, or hop in the car and drive 15 short minutes into Rehoboth. Visit the Towers....you will fall in love!

When too much family came to visit for our small home we put them up in The Towers. They absolutely loved it and the welcoming, friendly couple who own it made them feel special.
