Fat Daddy’s BBQ & Grill

Reviews:
We had passed Fat Daddy's on our trips back and forth to the beach and had been wanting to stop. Recently during a winter trip to the beach we were heading back on a Sunday and it just felt like the right time. I had read no Yelp reviews, I had no real expectations, we went in just hoping for some good BBQ. There were two of us and we split a platter with a rack of ribs, half chicken and two sides. I'll start with the sides - I love coleslaw - I'll pretty much eat anything you call coleslaw - but it has to be the perfect combo of not too soggy and not too dry for me to actually say it's good. I mean, I'll eat it regardless, anyway, this coleslaw was really, really good. It was the closest thing to my Mom's that I have ever found. The Mac n cheese was also delicious. The ribs were out of this world. The only thing we weren't over the moon for was the chicken, and I seriously think it was just because everything else was so good that it paled a little in comparison, but it was still good. And the people were great, our servers were so nice, we were greeted by everybody. We can't wait to back and try the brisket!
We've eaten at Fat Daddy's four times since we "discovered" them on a trip back from Bridgeville a few weeks ago. The outside appearance of the place gives the impression of a biker bar but don't let that fool you. Since there's no beer, there's no bikers! The place is a small family-run inexpensive BBQ business that's been open a couple of years. The meats are smoked on site by Chef Jeff and the sides are freshly home-made by Mama Frey. Our take: generally fabulous on the three sandwiches - smoked seasoned brisket, pulled pork and the smoked pit beef. The ribs are also fantastic. The chicken - okay, but not in the same league. Now here's the downside - when the ribs and brisket are "on" they are unbeatable, but we had one time when the meat was a bit dry, not horribly dry, just a tiny bit dry. A splash of BBQ sauce helped. The pit beef and pulled pork are a bit more consistent by virtue of the prep method. The pit beef is smoked to rare then finished au jus when ordered. The sides are generally very good. We ranked them in order of preference as: baked beans, potato salad, mac & cheese, french fries. Don't miss - home-made lemonade. We never had room for desserts. For their very reasonable prices, its well worth the stop. Especially for dinner as we have heard that the Georgetown law firms have discovered Fat Daddy's and it can be busy in the noon to 1:00 timeframe. All in all, Fat Daddy can expect many years of return business from us.
This place is awesome. Just dropped in with 25 people (baseball team). First of all, "David E" probably should stick to salads and sushi (or carrots and apples) as this BBQ is as good as it gets. Brisket is excellent. Potato salad and beans abs nachos are great. Finally, don't forget the milk shake!!!

went there with my kids last night. I can't say enough about how good the food was, which is the main reason for the 5 stars. We had an assortment of tacos, fajitas and a steak quesadilla. To drink horchata, mixed fruit shake and papaya shake. BBQ taco, Quesadilla and horchata were my favorites. But all were good. This is a down to earth kinda place (not fancy)... I.e. order at the counter and get served on paper plates. The wait staff forgot our drinks but it wasn't an issue especially after we saw the size of them... Large 24 oz plus glass mug. Very nice and pleasant. Great food!
Delicious, fresh hole in the wall restaurant. Steak fajitas were amazing. Chicken quesadilla was a little greasy but still very good. Will definitely be back!
Top notch , super authentic Mexican and Guatemalan food at low prices. I tried ceviche mixto ( of the heavy on the tomato variety , with sliced avocado on top.. throw some Valentina hot sauce in to make it complete), tacos de tripas ( that's intestines, so not for the weak), and licuado de papaya ( papaya shake). the Guatemalan owner is friendly. All other customers appeared to be Mexican or Guatemalan immigrants. this place is an A+.

Best Italian food in lower Delaware. I am not a big fan of their pizza, the crust is good but a little thin for me. but the entrees are perfection. they make their own sauce and use great Italian meats. I have been coming here for a few weeks and pretty much had everything on the menu. The only complaint I have is the meatball sub.. they make their own meatballs, but they are too small for the standard sub. They make their own rolls.. I am not sure how the bad review here didn't like the bread.. maybe they have this place confused with the one in the other shopping center..
Had such a great dinner. Sooo much food for the price. Salad bread and a huge entree for $19.90
Excellent lunch today. Staff friendly and we were happily surprised to find this place on the way to the beach. Probably go on the way home!

We moved to Delaware from northern New Jersey so we're real picky about things like bagels and pizza. It's real hard to find decent, REAL bagels - not whatever that is they serve up at DuDo's. THIS is the place. Reminds me of my favorite Delis & bagel shops back in NJ. Even that distinctive "deli smell". Great, friendly service too. Worth an out - of - the - way trip or a stop on your way down the shore.
We stopped in J & J Bagels on the way home from the beach (took 113 to avoid traffic). It's a small little place with a few tables but it was perfect for what we needed which was a delicious, affordable, and quick breakfast. I had and Egg & Cheese Bagel sandwich which was pretty decent. I recommend stopping in here if you are looking for something simple, fast, and yummy. I'll be back!
Stopped by to get some breakfast. I got a toasted everything bagel which was pretty good, but not amazing. It was filled with sun dried tomato cream cheese which was just OK as well. The owners are super nice though and they have a lot of variety so check them out!

McDonald’s

Meal was maid fast and the customer service was good. Parking lot is a little uncomfortable if you are driving with a big trailer or coach, but if you have skills driving you will be able to get around. Suggestion go to the back of the Mc D's as the parking tends to be less hectic.
Georgetown, Delaware is a way station on Route 113, an otherwise back road that rolls along the eastern shore of Virginia and Maryland into Delaware until it merges with Route 1 up around Dover. If you need to make a pit stop, this is the place to do it. Mickey D's is clean and modern and a good choice, especially with kids. The victuals are a constant; never better or worse than any other, making comparatives meaningless. But, this new design for a mini-McDonald's has its flaws. It is obviously designed for drive thru purchases, and thus the line of cars is much longer than the queue of folks at the counter within. The bathrooms are single occupant. Being a pedestrian is a challenge here. Although there is ample parking, everyone is required to walk through the drive thru lane to reach the entrances. With young kids this is a problem as it makes for constant danger as the drivers and foot traffic try to negotiate with each other. It seems like a faulty design and an accident waiting to happen. Hungry kids in cars and on foot. Harried parents...You get the picture. Just be very careful not to fall into the moat and get eaten by crocodiles.

I've been here a couple times and it was all good. The salads look like they cut and wash the veggies to order. Just an FYI, normally in a restaurant that has over 100 items you might want to stick with what is the special for that day or you will get some frozen stuff. The turkey plate is always the best if you want to get rid of that thanksgiving day craving during the year. If somebody asked me about Georgetown Family Restaurant I would have no problem telling them YES, GO.
This restaurant is just what it's name suggests: a little family restaurant here in this little rural town. The service is wonderful and friendly, and they have a huge menu. I had the broiled crab cakes, and they were buttery and lumpy (no filler). Great! The people I went with assure me that everything on the menu is good, and I can believe it.
This morning, after church, my husband and I decided to have breakfast out. The Harvest Diner was packed with no parking available so we slipped in town. We thought we would give GFR another try. After all, it has been a while. Well, it may have been a while, but nothing has changed. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Omelette. My husband ordered a seafood omelette. We both had coffee. The cups are rather small and they do not bring you a carafe. They also do not bring you a dish with creamers. If you want more then 3 little creamers, you must ask for it. If you want a refill, well you better be a good hunter so you can locate your waitress. Oh, and don't expect another waitress to fill your cup as she fills the table next to you.... after all, you are not her table!!! The omelettes came. They were absolutely tasteless. Excuse me, but does a Philly Cheese Steak have onion and peppers? Neither were in this omelette. It was just minute steak and american cheese inside a oh too well browned omelette. This garbage came served with home fries, again totally unseasoned, and get this...burnt toast. $18 for this mess. Not worth a dime! The waitress was too busy doing whatever she was busying herself with to even check. Steve, you really need to be IN the restaurant more then payday as the waitress said. This place is a disappointment, What happened to the days of you being there making sure the level of quality was high? What happened to great wait staff like Anita? IF things are going to stay this way you should close the doors. What a shame!

Probably the best Mexican food I've found in lower Delaware, and I think I've tried them all. If your were blindfolded, it would be difficult to tell one of the area's Mexican restaurants from another, but this place is a notch above. I've eaten there a half dozen times, and it's very consistent. The service is good and the wait staff is fluent in both English and Spanish, making the whole ordering thing much easier. Very pleased with this place..
Draft beer was warm and had a buttery off flavor, the beer lines are probably dirty. Service was good and the food was delivered fast but tasted bland. There are definitely better Mexican restaurants nearby.
Went there for lunch with a group of people. Restaurant is located off of 113 in a middle of strip mall, can't miss it with its bright color outside paint. The inside was nicely decorated and the staff was very nice. We got seated quickly and our server was very friendly with a great sense of humor. Chips and salsa were decent, i had the carnitas that were not on the lunch menu, they were a little greasy and lacked flavor but nothing a little dip in salsa couldn't fix. Their lunch menu is pretty extensive though and everyone else seemed happy with the meals they got.

While I primarily stick to their Meatball sub, I can say that it is extremely delicious. I get it at least 1x a week and I am never disappointed. Moved down here from New Castle and it's been one of the best i have had in Sussex. Their Lamb gyro was surprisingly good. They REALLY pack in a lot of meat which is good but there is not enough vegetables in it so it comes off dry. Their Taziki was tasty, more creamy than I am used to but is better than the 2 I have had in Rehoboth.
Wow! Tough crowd up in here... I admit that the pizza is not great - a bit too cheesy for my tomato pie palate, but it was no worse than Okay. And, the service was fine. Sarah was friendly, helpful, and moving as fast as she could. On the road between Philly and Newport News, Georgetown is a natural watering hole to get out, stretch, and have a small bite to tide you over until reaching your destination. While I would love to see a better joint on the strip, the population and vagabond traffic is not deep enough to attract a real serious alternative. So, Pizza Palace gets the nod.
Had lunch there noticed how dirty salt pepper shakers were creeped out slow service hot in there!

This location is so dirty. The people are slow and forget to give you things that you have purchased. Being fast food I only stop here to get the correct food and all of it when I'm in a rush. It takes them a long time to get the order out.
