Jimmy's is probably one of my favorite places to eat in Delaware so far. This place has no frills...and really, it doesn't need any. I fled to Delaware for some fatherly TLC when a horrible cold smacked me in the face and proclaimed "I need comfort food and I need it NOW!" And my dad, who is a connoisseur of Delaware diners and down-home eateries, whisked me off to one of his favorites. Everything in here is homemade and delicious. I got the 4-vegetable (sides) platter and added a chicken breast and chicken wing. I got corn pudding, sweet potato souffle, macaroni and cheese, and stuffing. It was really hard for me to not eat everything right there in one sitting because HOLY CRAP THIS FOOD IS DELICIOUS. The fried chicken is absolutely delicious and perfect, which you can tell because about 6 different people came in and got it for carry-out in the 45 minutes we were there. I can tell because I put it in my mouth and it was the best fried chicken I've had since I lived in Maryland (Still hunting for Philly's best fried chicken if you have suggestions). The macaroni and cheese was closest to my mom's I've ever eaten: perfectly creamy with a toasted-cheese top. The stuffing and and sweet potato souffle were as good as any home cooked Thanksgiving side (my only sadness was there were no marshmallows on the souffle...but really, they didn't need them). I had never had corn pudding before so I don't have anything to compare it to...but I imagine this was probably some of the best corn pudding I will ever have: not too sweet and not too salty. I had a little bit of everything leftover (except the stuffing...too damn tasty) and all of the sides microwaved perfectly and were great the next day. The fried chicken was equally delicious, but I never microwave fried chicken since it loses some of the crunchiness. This place is simple and FAST. We were in and out in less than an hour but didn't feel rushed or unsatisfied in anyway. I will definitely be coming back to this place next time I'm in town...or next time a cold pops up.

Just had an early dinner and we were horribly disappointed with the food. My wife got chicken and I got a hot roast beef sandwich. My youngest daughter also got the roast beef. My oldest and a friend got cheeseburgers. The only meals that were decent were the burgers. My wife's chicken was extremely dry and hard. The breast was the size of a thigh, we actually had to ask and the waitress was unsure then said that it was a breast. The two hot roast beef dinners wee cold and tasted horrible. I am so tired of places that have had a following getting a break because their Daddy's daddy has been going there. The place was dirty and there were flies all over. We're never coming here again. This place has been a local staple & a tourist-on-the-way-to-the-MD-DEL beaches convenient stop-by for years.. Fried Chicken, sweet potatoe fries, the homemade pies and desserts. I heard the cleanliness of the restaurant has deteriorated & on the way back last week, received strong confirmation: NOT clean. A restaurant with appropriate double doors up front in summer should be able to handle it, but next to my table was a pole that a multiple of flies found attractive. Way too many flies in this restaurant to try to believe it was clean in the kitchen. My chicken salad sandwich had a couple of pieces that had be spit out too. We will go hungry & opt for Macs next time en route.

My, oh my. A waitress who brought a basket of warm bread without bringing butter or a plate with which to place the bread upon. You know, like a "bread plate". Burnt liver in the liver & onions dish, cold scalloped potatoes that should have been hot and beets which tasted like they were brushed with Pine Sol. On a positive note, the parking lot was very spacious.

Had Sunday dinner at Jimmy's today. My daughter was served a very nice looking, chicken pot pie in a chipped and cracked serving dish. Was not noticeable until the crust was eaten. I had meatloaf with gravy and the gravy was coagulated on top from being under the heat lamp for a lengthy period of time. I seeked out the manager and he apologized but no concessions were made. Will be the last time for me.

I love this place. Fantastic home cooking. Husband had the most moist fried chicken breast I've ever tasted. I can't seem to stray away from the chicken cheese steak; it's so flavorful. I wish the place was a little bigger or laid out differently as it can be a little cramped sometimes.

Excellent fried chicken. Nice little diner, friendly, inexpensive. Amazing desserts. Great place to grab a bite on the way to the beach!

Had the best lunch there yesterday on our way to the beach. A great start to our vacation. The Lima & Dumpling soup was awesome as were the pies with homemade whipped cream. Best shrimp salad I ever had. Highly recommended! We will be stopping in again on the way home and on all future trips to the beach! Will become a tradition.

Love Jimmy's! Consistently delicious. Family type country restaurant. Pleasant staff that are always happy. If you crave authentic DelMarVa cuisine, look no farther. Today for lunch, I had chicken and dumplings - just like my grandfather made for me as a child. Stewed tomatoes! Fried chicken! Meatloaf! Lima bean and dumpling soup! Make sure you stop at Jimmy's!

I like this place. Like Like LIKE! this place. My wife and I have eaten here on a number of occasions when in the area, and it has never disappointed. The Fried chicken Wonderful, The Oysters devine and the sides are very good. My wife often orders the side sampler and she is very happy with it. Service is very prompt and although it's a busy place you don't feel rushed. Now that Kirby and Holloway is gone ( a void in my stomach, that will never be filled) this is the destination diner on the DelMarVa. The Bakery items are fabulous, take home a dozen cookies, doesn't matter what, they are all good. A little pricey for the area, but trust me, it's worth it.

Good place! They have been around for ages! Another place that has big food! Large plates! My favorite was the pot pie. It was full of goodness and a great crust. It's a busy place. They do offer a salad bar, that's hit or miss!'it's often not taken good care of. Amazing desserts tho! Check em out!

Great country style restaurant with home cooking that reflects the region's German (?) heritage. Dumplings, collard greens, fried chicken, scrapple, fresh rolls. We enjoyed our hot turkey sandwich, crab cake, fried shrimp and Lima beans. Desserts looked great but we had no room. Will definitely be back.

Stopped here on way to Bethany. Really good fried chicken and crab cakes. Wife had awesome crabby melt sandwich. Very good Lima bean & dumpling soup. Would recommend!

Jimmy, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...one delicious, yeasty roll at a time! Yes, the food is good. Like a diner. But the prices are crazy! Good food and low prices always make me happy, happy!!! This is my place to stop and nosh on the way to and from the beach for the last 4 years. I grew up eating Sonic and there isn't one near where I live so the only time I get a footlong chili cheese dog is on the way to the beach...so for Jimmy to be directly across the street from Sonic AND pull me in...you know this place has to be that good!!! Another thing that Jimmy does is get me to eat lima beans...and like them! YIKES!!! I was the kid who would pick out the lima beans in that bag of frozen mixed veggies. Who knew that if you threw them in a pot with some ham and slippery dumplings that even lima beans taste good! (The dumplings are so good that I bet if you threw brocolli in the pot that Bush Senior would still eat it and probably even like it!!!) I have had the club sandwich, prime rib, and fried chicken. Delicious. But to be honest, what stands out here are the sides. I have tried almost all of them and I really think that they must be made with love because they are so yummy! The menu has changed a little bit now that they added an all you can eat salad bar. They have daily specials so be sure to check the chalkboard when you walk in. You'll also see a spinning glass cake display so you should also save room for dessert or take one to go with you and eat later in the car. :) I told you a little about the lima beans and slippery dumplings. Not sure why they are slippery but they are cooked in a light tomatoy broth. Chunks of hams and lima beans of all different sizes. I always order this and eat it all up. The mac and cheese is really tasty too. You are super lucky if you a part of the crusty corner! Scalloped potatoes like Mom used to make them. Order corn on the cob and you get a whole ear of corn! So big it has to come on it's own plate! :) Pickled beets (what? I never used to eat beets either!), cucumber and onions, collard greens (tried them for the first time here and I only like them here!), and the sweet potato soufflee. This one is perfect. It is not too sweet but I seriously think they should add a little marshmallow puff on top. But what do I know. I did not grow up eating most of these foods but I tried them at Jimmy's and I just can't get enough! For dessert I have had the coconut cake and the banana walnut cake. The coconut cake is yummy but it can be too sweet. The banana walnut is just delicious! The strawberry, pretzel salad looks weird with jello on top but I am going to try it on the way home because I think it has cream cheese in it! They have so many pies and cookies that I can't list them all here....you just have to go and see for yourself! If you stop in on a late Sunday afternoon, you might even find me here!

I was not impressed at all. The crinkle cut fries were cold, the 2 piece was break plus a tiny a** wing (not a leg), and the corn on the cob was served in a sea of butter (see picture). The chicken was decent, but nothing to brag about. I'll add that service was painfully slow, and I had to literally seek out my waitress to get my check. Not a fan of that. Sure, your meal at Jimmy's clog your arteries and you'll be glad to have found what seems to be a non-touristy place near Rehoboth and Dewey, but I don't think you'll leave with a happy belly.

(6/25/2015) Stopped by Jimmy's on the way to the shore. It's conveniently located off SR 13. It's good, cheap, basic food. Got the famous fried chicken (the Perdue processing plant is just up the road) and crab cake platter (we are on the Bay). Chicken was shatteringly crisp, meat fell off the bone, well-seasoned, deeply golden brown crust. Crab cake tasted like local meat, was backfin and some lump, oddly seasoned with dried parsley (I am not a fan), fully cooked, somewhat dry in the middle, had a very thick breaded commercial breadcrumb crust, like a crab Gobstopper (layers and layers). Others had the Meatloaf (2 large slabs, tender, meaty mix) and Country Fried Chicken with gravy (a very large breaded breast with a yellow chicken stock and milk gravy), both excellent, stick to your ribs kind of meals. Sides were tasty in that I know it's bad for you kind of way, like Scalloped Potatoes made with canned potatoes and Velveeta, Green Bean Casserole with condensed canned cream of mushroom soup and canned green beans. Cucumber and Onion Salad (cool, acidic, refreshing) and Collards (from fresh, whole leaves, no meat in the pot liquor) seem to have been made from fresh. We ate it all with gusto, and had no room for dessert, which is a shame, since they have wonderful looking pies and cakes in a glorious rotating display case. Got a pan of Cinnamon Rolls to go for breakfast the next day, enormous (just slice them up like bread) , rich dough, cinnamon, raisins, nuts, not too sweet, tender, really good. Waitstaff was spot on. Jimmy's is def worth a visit if you are in need of some serious comfort food.

Great place for a large party of people. The staff really know how to handle it. The food selection is very good. Lots of home style choices. The prices are very reasonable.

Excellent fries!! This restaurant was a great place to stop on the way out to OC! It was totally mom and pop and I felt right at home. The servers were nice and when you see the menu you almost think home town diner. We had simple sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised by the fries, they were REALLY good! The pies looked amazing but I will save trying those for next time.

Jimmie's will be our must visit eatery on the return trip from the beach! The Lima beans and fried chicken are only second to Stephanie's outstanding customer service! Well done Jimmie's!

The staff was very nice and kind. The food wasn't bad. Unfortunately it took quite awhile to get our food. Would recommend this place if you're hungry and you happen to drive by this place.

My grandmother used to take me here as a kid and I remember it being pretty crappy. I was driving home from Fenwick Island yesterday hungry. There isn't much other than fast food on the drive home from the beach and I really didn't want fast food so I decided to stop here. I mean I hadn't been in years, so they must be doing something right to stay in business all this time right? Wrong. My server brought out rolls. I'm a big fan of carbs but these were really mediocre. They were warm, but still mediocre. For my entree I ordered the fried chicken and crabcake combo, opting to do the salad bar as opposed to the sides. The salad bar is a collection of iceberg lettuce along with all the standard salad bar toppings. For a place that advertises homestyle cooking I would expect them to make their own dressing. The bottled dressing they had was mediocre. The fried chicken is frankly what saved this from being a one star. The coating was just OK but the chicken itself was moist, hot, and flavorful. It was good but nothing out of this world. The crabcake was simply not good. I requested mine broiled and not fried. The server warned me that their crabcakes come with breading but it is broiled, not fried. The breading totally cancelled out any taste of crab. It was nasty. The crab is NOT jumbo lump, it's probably backfin and not locally sourced either. That was disappointing. It was also weird that I was the youngest person in there by at least 30 years (totally not exaggerating). It's clear that this place caters to local seniors who have lost all their taste buds and just want grease, grease, and more grease. So again, the dining options on the trip to/from the beach are miserable. If anyone has any good ideas on this route, please please let me know. I would do fast food before I did Jimmy's again.

We drove out of our way to stop for breakfast at Jimmy's Grille, on our way to the beach. It's that good! And the service is great!

Excellent place to go when you are stopping for a place to eat on the way or the way back from the beach (or in my case both). I'd highly recommend the turkey dinner which comes with their house made stuffing which is world-class. I've never had a bad meal here. The place is very popular with locals and visitors a like. Suspect it to be crowded for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday of the week, but always have tables available.

  • David H.

This place is great. I stop there often. (10 years!) The biggest problem is the food is HUGE but always good. You could almost feed a whole family from just one plate of food. The bread is homemade and warm! I will always be back. I cannot imagine complaints at this establishment but you have to realize what it is. it is a busy diner/grill and not a fluffy place with high prices. I love it! I often just buy a appetizer or a two piece chicken dinner. They are more than sufficient. My ex partner says they have the best liver he has ever eaten. I still have to drive a plate of it back to Washington every Sunday. Their desserts are wonderful to look at but there is never any room for them. Enjoy it

Here's what Jimmy's does right. It's actually something that the whole darn town of Bridgeville seems to understand - KINDNESS, COURTESY, FRIENDLINESS... Jimmy's fits right in line. Everyone working there is a living example of how to serve people. PERFECT. Here's what Jimmy's does so-so: the food. Salad bar was actually the only thing that was just fine. I'm a little fussy about salad dressings (long story). Most people are fine with the standard bottles of dressings, which they offered. They had everything you'd expect to find at a salad bar. Great. Get the meal with the unlimited salad bar and pile it on. I reluctantly ordered the meatloaf. It was mushy. Didn't like it - although I recall eating most of it, because I needed to eat. Got a mac and cheese side order - OH MY GOD - can someone please show the cooks what "al dente" means? The pasta was basically a mush. Horrible, although the flavor was fine - the texture was disgusting. That's about it. Check out my wife's review (Mimi K) because it probably would give you a balanced idea of what to expect. I say: PERFECT SERVICE - so so food.

Great rockfish and crabcakes! Perfect place to stop on the way home from the beach. We arrived only 10 minutes before closing and received both a warm welcome and excellent service.

We heard about Jimmy's fried chicken before our trip to Rehoboth. We stopped there on the way back to NoVa and it was totally worth it! Jimmy's has perhaps the best fried chicken I've had in a long time. Flavorful and non-greasy, it was so good. If and when we go back to the beaches of Delaware, Jimmy's will be a must-stop for us and his fried chicken. I'm not even kidding.

It was maybe 10 years ago, Bette and i were in Seaford for business at a local radio station. On our way back to Baltimore, we headed back up Rt.13 to Rt 404. We got there about lunch time. We had never been to Jimmy's; didn't know it existed. As we approached it I said, "Ah, this is where we'll have lunch." Bette, seeing a tractor and some trucks nearby asked why there. I said it was because the parking lot was full of cars and that meant there was good food inside. I was right. Although not fancy, Jimmy's is a great place to eat. Good food at a very good value. We were coming back from Bethany Beach this week and opted to go "the back way" just because we might be hungry about the time we hit Bridgeville. There was Jimmy's. They even make their own rolls. Again, nothing fancy but fresh baked and with a touch of sour dough. I had a platter with Shrimp Salad stuffed into a tomato, cucumber salad and sweet potato fries. Bette had a fried chicken breast and cucumber salad. Both meals were very nice. The shrimp salad had a little more mayo than I would have used, but it went down easy and the tomato was thick and meaty. If you get hungry down on the shore, head on over to Jimmy's They have pies and cakes to go. In a landscape of fast food places, Jimmy's is an oasis of real people serving real food.

My parents have a family beach home in Ocean Pines... Whenever they go visit the house,, they stop at this restaurant for a meal... Menu is your basic diner food, with some Maryland Style Seafood dishes,, like MD CrabCakes,, Cream of Crab soup, soft shell crab sandwich.. They have a AYCE deal salad and soup,, the soup of the day was Cream of Crab,, it was decent,, the cream base was good just needed more crab... the salad bar,,well is a salad bar.. I would order the soup again and again,, I also had the fried chicken southern style... It was very good,, not the best ever,, but worth getting again and again,, it was cooked very well, the breading was good and had a good flavor.. Mashed potato was the side,,obviously homemade.. needed salt but i am not too lazy to use the salt shaker,, due to the fact the clientele seems to be the older folks,, dont need them stroking out from the sodium... Mac and cheese was my other side,,, a lot of cheese not much mac,, it was good as well,, needed salt.. I also order the cinnamon rolls and sticky buns,,, they are 5 bucks a a pan,, comes with 4 or 5... I didnt like the cinnamon rolls as much as my brother but i did really like the sticky buns,,, This would be the main reason to stop here to eat...In closing i like this place not the greatest,, but hell i am still searching for that...I will return here, more if someone was buying... I hope this YELPS...

I went to Jimmy's today for breakfast and I wasn't too impressed with the food. I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits and a side of grits. The gravy had a strange tangy taste to it and the grits lacked flavor. I have eaten lunch and dinner here on a few occasions and had fantastic food. I guess I'll stick to the lunch and dinner menu from now on.

Jimmy was a legend of great home cooking. Unfortunately, he seemed to take the money and run, at any chance he got. His last known location now operated by another group now, is Jimmy's Grille in Bridgeville, Delaware. The current group seemed to have cleaned up the location some, with fresh paint and now they even take credit cards! While the prices have risen, it's still cheap and the food remains good. Fried Chicken is great, Steak and Cheese Sub, Shrimp and Chicken salad are plentiful and delicious. The veggie sides are nearly all winners, including the lima and dumplings, sweet potato souffle, stewed tomatoes. The yeast rolls are intoxicating. The breakfasts are large, and cheap. Scrapple is done perfectly here. Desserts are 50's through backs, piled high and simply made. We love the banana cream pie and the strawberry pretzel salad. It's our stop on the way to or from the beach. We usually hit it for lunch, cause as great as breakfast is, it's not till lunch that the sweet rolls are served.

Friendly service, garish decor, average food. Under new ownership since last I was there, now finally caught up to the 1990s and accepting credit cards as payment, although there's still an ATM in the lobby. The color scheme is peach and turquoise, which kinda reminds me of my teenage bedroom, and not in a good way. The friendly waitress made up for it. The food was... average? Not bad, not anything to write home about. The desserts looked to die for, glad I didn't see them til after we checked out.

Wow, talk about a piece of old-school Americana. So the wife and I were driving back from Ocean City and as you may very well know, there isn't really anywhere worthwhile to stop as you come back through Denton on your way to the Bay Bridge. Oops, I take that back. They did open up a Sonic, which for us central Marylanders is like finding Jesus Christ on your grilled cheese. That's what you get for bombarding us with commercials for a dozen years and not having an actual Sonic anywhere within an hour. But I digress. This is about Jimmy's. So we are cruising along, tummies growling and this place appeared like a mirage out of the corn field. You know what else appeared like a mirage out of the corn field? Old People. Old People love this place, and I mean that with the utmost level of love and sincerity. I know if my grandmother sat down in a restaurant that she didn't like, she would annoy my grandfather until they got up and left. Old People won't stand for craptastic food, because they are old and life is too short for them to eat bad food. That and drafty areas. They hate those things. Again, I have a grandmother, I know these things. Anywho, you know what else Old People love? Grease. Not John Travolta Grease. Grease as in "I want my heart to stop beating" grease. You know what that means to me? Jaaaaccckkkpot! Well of course I have to go with my staple of turkey, gravy and fries. Yummo. I think my wife liked her head sized sandwich. Not gonna lie, I didn't really talk to her since I was busy making sweet food love to the turkey and gravy. I bought the lady a cookie at the end of the meal, but I think the damage was done from my food affair. It made for an awkward ride home. She later exacted revenge by cheating on me and our regular Mexican place with some chimichanga hooker. So I guess we are even-steven. But I digress yet again. So thumbs up, think of it as a diner and get some serious diner food. I would stop there again...maybe I'll see grandma and grandpa there!

"Back in the day" when Jimmy ran the place himself before he was thrown in jail for tax evasion, overall food quality and freshness were above average for the Eastern Shore. However, ever since the Rusty Rudder restaurant group of Dewey Beach took over Jimmy's, the food has suffered. On the plus side, energetic, enthusiastic waitstaff, many of whom worked here alongside Jimmy for many years. The portions have always been huge, and there is nothing remotely healthful among the offerings.

You can't be so much in a hurry to get to the beach or home not to stop in at Jimmy's. A must in our family. While you don't come here for those low carb meals the food is well worth running an extra Lao around the block (the next day, that is). Great pies too, albeit that you're going to be too full to eat some after your meal. Take out!

Stopped here for dinner on our way to Virginia Beach. There were many offerings on the menu. I chose the ribs, macaroni & cheese and the salad bar. The servings were a very good size for the money. The BBQ sauce on the ribs was good - had a bit of a kick, but, you should know that I don't even put pepper on my food. The ribs themselves were a little fatty, but, tasted good. The mac & cheese was 'ok'. The salad bar was small, but, good. At the time I only saw one type of lettuce that looked like it was iceberg. The server and the person who checked us out were prompt and very polite. The restaurant was clean. This is a good place for large groups.

We were looking for a good spot to eat in Delaware on the way from New York to Norfolk, and stumbled upon Jimmy's (thanks to positive reviews on Yelp). We arrived late morning on a Wednesday in September, and Jimmy's was pleasantly full of locals. Solid, all-American, home-cooked comfort food; great chicken (both barbequed and fried) and excellent sides - particularly the fresh cole slaw and terrific late-summer corn pudding. We enjoyed an slice of coconut meringue pie, a dessert not seen in the New York area in decades. We'll be back again and try the lemon meringue. Attentive, friendly service, with a decor and menu from the late 50s. What a great American road trip find.

Great place to stop for lunch on your way to the beach! I had the soft shell crab sandwich which was fresh and not frozen. Jimmy's also has a fantastic selection of pies. Kind of reminded me of an East Coast version of the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, TX. Good home style food.

This is my absolute favorite place for fried chicken. I wait anxiously for summer, knowing it will be there for me on my way to the beaches. I periodically try to convince my husband to drive there sometimes just for their fried chicken. It's that good. And their yeast rolls -- sweet jesus from heaven, they are nothing short of divine. They will save your soul. So when you go, make sure to order a fried chicken platter with a couple of sides. I highly recommend their cornbread stuffing and macaroni and cheese. The mashed potatoes are good, too, but I think the other two are the best they offer. And for god's sake, don't leave the place without picking up a batch of their sticky rolls. You'll need something to eat in the car, after all. One last thing that's good to know -- bring cash. They don't take credit cards.

On your way to the beach, or home from the beach, stop here for lunch. The best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Great-tasting, homey sides, like macaroni and cheese and corn pudding. Sweet tea. And the fresh-baked rolls! Save room for lemon meringue pie. Service was nice and friendly.

After reading positive reviews of Jimmy's we decided to stop here on our way to the beach. That was a mistake. Although the service was very friendly, the food was below average. In fact, one of the chicken tenders from the kids menu that we ordered was raw in the middle. The fries were no better than what you could make from any frozen brand sold in the supermarket.

Lima Bean Soup and the side dish of limas and dumplings are basically the same thing, and wonderful for those of us who like lima beans. It would be difficult to have a healthy meal here, but you can certainly have a tasty time in a real Delmarva Peninsula restaurant.

Wow! That was sucha great meal for a great price. TOtally worth the stop and check out their pretzel salad in the summer. Will head out there just to stop and eat,

Horrible. My boyfriend was so excited to eat here and I hated it. I ordered two eggs and oatmeal. The eggs came out cold and the oatmeal never came. It's cheap because it sucks.

If the fried chicken wasn't as good as it was, I would have only rated 1 star. The service was friendly but too slow. The sides were either overlooked or undercover - some had obviously been under a heat lamp too long. The table, silverware, and bathroom were dirty. This was my second time there (Bridgeville is halfway between family and myself) and maybe I was there on two different bad nights, but I would prefer Holly's fried chicken on Kent Island any day. I'm not sure how everyone else has rated it so high.

Can you please open up a Jimmy's Grille in Dover, Delaware? We have been going to the one in Bridgeville, Delaware for years and we really love the deliscious food. It would sure be nice to be able to come to Jimmy's Grille more often such as on Sundays, family members birthdays, some holidays, differant events and occasions if we had one in Dover, Delaware. Please open one up in Dover, Delaware!

The fried chicken is outstanding and the portions are large, especially with the two well sized sides. Service was fast and friendly and prices were great. Would definitely return.

If you are looking to throw caution for your arterial health to the wind and indulge in some of the best fried/gravy smothered food around, this is the place! Their cream of crab soup is the stuff of legend! Fried chicken and crab cakes are excellent. Any animal + slippery dumplings will get your taste buds and your cholesterol meds working overtime. We've been eating here since they opened and through a few changes of ownership, but the food has always been good, and don't forget dessert! If you are ever on 13, you owe it to yourself to pay Jimmy's a visit. Also of note: They don't accept credit cards, but there is an ATM in the lobby ready to surcharge you.

Stopped in Jimmys for the first time recently. Lots of locals there and treated me as one of their own. Laughed myself into a headache hanging out on the back porch. Carl and Edna really made this trip a blast. Before I forget, Biker friendly, when traveling through Delaware make this a must stop. You wont regret it. I cant wait to get there again, May 22 cant get here quick enough.

Great old fashioned breakfast. Good place to stop for a bite to eat to break up the trip from DC to the beach. Stick with the classics: any breakfast food, the fried chicken, BLT etc. Also, don't forget to pick up a pie or pecan buns to go (if they are any left).

Same as it ever was, with credit cards and better bathrooms. Hadn't been to our old regular Jimmie's in 4 or 5 years. Chicken and crab soup, and sides - slaw, sweet potato fries, sweet potato souffle, stuffing, were great. Hard working waitresses, quick service, low prices, - highlight of Rt. 404.

I'm a big fan of Jimmy's, and it is a lunch/dinner stop for us en route to Chincoteague Island, VA. I love the cream of crab soup, and the cheese steak, while not a Philadelphia style steak (it never advertises to be) is huge, and enough for 2 people. I love the service, the prices, and the folks eating there. Yup, a big fan. Go

Good old fashioned cooking! Good fried seafood too - delmarva style. As teddy says, lots of good looking desserts, but I think they are made from scratch, not scraps. :) Good luck getting a seat after church on Sunday! The locals seem to flock here - always a good sign. In fact, that is what I always look for in an unfamiliar area when I am scoping joints out, and it's what lead me to Jimmy's in the first place. I've been told they have good fried chicken too.
