Ive been coming to BB for over 20 years, so I am a little biased. I like Mangos- you just have to know what to expect. This is not a high-end French bistro, this is not the best burger in New York City. This is a place with a fantastic 2nd floor ocean view of Bethany Beach not available in any other restaurant that also has really good happy hour specials on beer, mangoritas, quesadillas, nachos, and similar apps. It has half decent fried calamari too, but thats it. So if you come like everyone else during happy hour, you will have a good time with a really good view!

DON'T FALL FOR THIS TRAP! They draw you in with the view, but trust me, that is all this place has going for it. They use their view to lure people in and literally put zero effort into anything else in the restaurant. It is your average tourist trap. Food is AWFUL. Prices are entirely too high for what you get. Good seats with a view are limited and hard to get. They have a weird reservation process for that, don't get me started. I feel duped. They lure you in with the view, and then make their profit by giving you the cheapest quality food on earth and charge you out the as* for it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I won't be fooled twice.

The only good thing at this restaurant/bar is the view. Very poor customer service by hostess and manager. Ridiculous that you can only get the happy hour from 1-6 at the BAR! If you sit at a regular table you have to pay menu prices. Got the nachos and they were plain, nothing special about them. Could have thrown them together in my kitchen at 11 at night. The drinks were pretty decent as well. The issue was when we walked in the hostess asked us if we were here to eat or happy hour... Not knowing quite what she meant, we stated we were going to drink but wanted to get food as well. She said that happy hour was only available at the bars, then stopped talking. Then started a conversation with one of the waitresses. Like 2 minutes later she looks back at us and really rudly says "its seat yourself".

First time I've had Mango a Salad with real mango in it & sweet mango dressing. Enjoyed it.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend over vacation. A lot of bad reviews, but our experience wasn't that terrible...We had the jerk nachos, a pina colada, tuna sandwich and I had the tuna tacos. I got to keep the ceramic coconut that my drink came in, which was neat. Honestly, our waitress was friendly and the food wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I couldn't taste any jerk on the nachos but whatever. The tuna was seared on the outside and nice and rare in the middle.. I probably won't be back because I didn't really like Bethany, but I can see why there were bad reviews..this place just gives off a cheesy cheap vibe. I'd check out some of the other places in Bethany OR just head up to Rehoboth.

Grab a seat at the bar & show up early for happy hour!!! Outrageous $5 drinks, kick ass nachos and the best bartender on the beach make this a must to check out when you're down this way.

This bar/restaurant has all of the potential to be a great place (with amazing views), but it falls woefully short of expectations. We got the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and they were fine, but overlooked. For my entree, I got the coconut shrimp with the mango chutney and rice and beans. The shrimp was oily and were very obviously frozen and the chutney had a strange sour taste that was all together off putting. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the scenery on the beach.

Where to start with this review? We arrived, a party of 9, for a late lunch around 1:30. We had to wait, which wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but this place was pretty empty. The hostess wasnt paying enough attention so when she came back from what I can only assume was her time getting our table ready, she had already forgotten who we were. We were seated at two tables out together. Again, not out of the ordinary, except they put together two tables of differing height. Uhh, what? My right elbow is two inches higher than my left as I type this out on my iPhone. We waited 20 minutes to place a drink order (which we also tacked on our food since we didn't want to keep waiting). Lets just say that they were out of 2 beers that I tried to order. Thankfully I didn't have to settle on a crappy Bud. When the food arrived, my mom's veggie burger hasn't been put in for the kitchen. My nachos were cold and soggy. The burger was decent. Tuna sandwich was "fine" according to my uncle. I wouldn't come back here even if it was the only open restaurant here. Oh wait, it was pretty much the only open restaurant when I was visiting.

Lots of negative reviews here but I have to say, we had a great time at the bar. Great drink selection and the bartenders were extremely attentive. Just got appetizers, but they were great. And it's the best view in Bethany beach. They were more than happy to put the O's game on tv for us - which is more than I can say for the new 'Hooked Up' place further down on '26 - in fact we got fed up with the surliness there and headed to Mango's! I've had dinner here before and have always had a great experience.

For someone who was born and raised in Southern California a place like this doesn't surprise me, it's crappy tourist Mexican food. "I don't want to talk about the food", upset girlfriend on how sub par the food was. Didn't even touch the 'rice and beans', old dry heated up rice with canned black beans on top: flavorless. Don't get me started on the mahi mahi fish taco or the tuna fish taco, it's just average tourist food. So if your in town and want some mediocre Mexican this is your place! Only getting 2 stars because the girlfriend said so, "2 stars for effort".

Awesome view and good service here at Mango's. The location in downtown Bethany Beach really can't be beat. I had the soft shell crabs and they were well seasoned but a little on the small size. Bland vegetable and rice side dishes. Overall, for a quick bite after the beach Mango's serves its purpose. The food didn't blow me away but the service was attentive and the view of the beach is ideal.

Solid bar/grill. And the location can't be beat. Read the other reviews.... Obviously people have experienced some bad service when the place is busy. We were there for lunch on a holiday weekend with an average number of people there and had no issues. As for the overly sweet drinks-- all of the drink "specials" are beachy/sweet drinks. Of course these would be sweet. We had the crabcake sandwich with fries and swordfish. Not the best. Not the worst. Definitely decent though!!

I'm surprised at some of the reviews but I can only speak on my own experience. I visited for my second time on Sunday and I absolutely loved it! Kayla was the BEST waitress that I have had in a long, long time. Very quick service. With all 4 people putting in multiple orders and then add-ons throughout dinner, she got every last thing right and was extremely pleasant! The jerk chicken wings are my favorite by far and I loved the jerk chicken caesar salad as well. My friends enjoyed the nachos, spinach dip, and burger. My friend even asked for a jerk burger that wasn't a part of the menu and they made it for her. Great, fast service! Great tasting food. Will definitely be back!

Sheesh- what a difference from last year! We had a great experience last August and came back with my sister and her family. Food, service and drinks were pitiful. The Pina colada was served in a tiny glass with huge chunks of ice, the coconut shrimp were terrible and the crab dip was lukewarm at best. The hostess was snooty and the server was nice but just not great. We won't be back!

I think the lack of options in Bethany is the only reason that Mango's is often busy. Their service is beyond terrible. We went to Mango's for dinner and drinks and there was not hostess so we just say down at a table. Multiple waitresses walked right by us and never acknowledged us. After 10 minutes I asked on of them for our server and she told me I needed to see the hostess. I pointed out that there was no one at the hostess stand and she sighed loudly and told me that she would get someone. Finally a woman came over and informed is that they were now running a late night menu but she didn't know what was on it so she had to go get another server. 30 minutes after walking in the door we placed our order. The drinks took another 10 minutes and the food arrived and was terrible. The quesadillas had way too much cheese and contained no chicken. The chicken fingers were cold and had to be sent back. The wings were undercooked and should have been reported to the department of health. It pained us to even tip the servers because the whole experience was so incredibly awful. Never will I got back to this place. It's conveniently located but that's about it. Stay away!

For a place that calls itself Mango, you would think that the one thing they could get right is a mango margarita. But what they serve here is literally the WORST mango marg I've ever had in my entire life. It tastes like crap, has hardly any alcohol in it, and somebody should tell these people that mangoes are not orange. Last time I will ever go here.

I'm really suprised by the hit and miss reviews here. We only had lunch here once, but sat outside on the roof overlooking the ocean. The view made it worthwhile. Sandwiches were reasonably priced, and a good size. Nobody at our table had any complaints. Can't speak for the dinner service, but the dinner entrees do run quite a bit more than the lunch items.

Meh. I would not recommend the cod tacos. The staff seemed a bit bewildered and the service was slow. The view, however, is fantastic.

Great location overlooking boardwalk. We ate lunch there and had no wait (@ 11:30AM). We were 7 in our group, 5 adults and 2 kids. The food is alright, the service is good. We had crab cake sandwiches (small crabcake on a huge roll), seared tuna sandwiches (good), jamaican jerk sandwich (good), chicken fingers (OK). All in all not a bad meal- just not memorable either.

The location and view couldn't be better if you are Bethany Beach. The food is not worth going after however. If you just want somewhere to hang out in the area, good place to grab a drink but there are a lot of rules as to when you are allowed out on the porch. I make it here maybe once a year and that's enough for me.

  • Nicole Y.

I will start with the good.. Location: As far as Bethany Beach is concerned the location could not be better. It is literally over looking the beach and they offer outdoor seating. The Rolls: There are only a few places that still have good bread..like really good homemade bread, that are not upper level restaurants. I got so full off of them I almost burst. The Bad The Food: I was with a group of 15 and I will say that some LOVED their food and some HATED it. Three of us ordered the Coconut Shrimp and Jerk Chicken (Which is a quarter leg piece) combo and we ALL disliked the chicken. It was dry, the seasoning was weird, etc etc etc. I tried to trade it for the jerk wings because the hot wings we had as an app were great. Me being dissatisfied with the meal meant nothing..lol. I was told "they are not going to do that". I guess I am spoiled. I worked in food service and our GM and the rest of the management team did whatever was needed to make sure someone left satisfied with their meal...even if it meant replacing the meal with something else or comping the entire meal and this was Olive Garden. Well...this ain't Olive Garden and I definitely wasn't family..lol. Most of the apps that we ordered were good, like Apple Bee's quality good. The Spinach Dip is watery. The Coconut Shrimp coating is rubbery and lacking crunch but the hot wings are good! I should have got the scallops :-(, one of the people in our party said they were good. My dish was 20 bucks but I've had five dollar fast food meals that were better :-(. The Service: She was really nice however, she was hard to catch and by the time she got to our table after her co-workers brought the food out the things that were needed like more bread, water, ketchup, ect were almost mute since the meal was almost over. Again, no one is expecting 4 to 5 star service but just basic .

Oh Mango Mike's. What can I say? I want to love you. You have the most wonderful location. Perched high above, overlooking the ocean. So I come for the view. I don't expect ah-mazing food. Just okay would be good enough for me to be able to watch the waves roll in. But the food is not okay. It's, it's... Ugh. And the service. I think everyone means well, but it seems so indifferent. We've been coming here off and on for years and every time, the view sucks me in. Then we actually dine here and we remember why we haven't been in awhile. Until the next time dining by the ocean seduces me again. There aren't too many ocean-front dining options in the area. Frustrating.

Drinks are all obnoxiously sweet. Having read the reviews we stuck to nachos (not bad) and wings (soggy don't do it). Sit on the deck, drink straight booze, and eat somewhere else.

Wish I could give a ZERO star. Mangos is officially the worst restaurant in Bethany Beach which is a sad state for a restaurant that Where do I start... - Horrible service - took 15 minutes to get a server to our bar seats for lunch - Bathroom are filthy and absolutely DISGUSTING - The bathrooms and service actually make the food look good! My wife orders the nachos. The cheese was so cold and congealed that she could only eat 4 of the chips as she did not have a jackhammer to break up the rest. The nachos also had some noodles on the side. The burger was cold and disgusting. The quesadilla was burnt to a crisp black. We will never step foot in there again.

OK, someone has *got* to explain to me why Mango's is supposed to be such a "treat". We have friends who have a house down in Bethany, and each time we come, they always drag us to Mango's. While I never have a *bad* time, I never understood why everyone makes such a big fuss about coming here. The drinks: decent. Most of the mixed drink specialties (that are served in novelty containers that you get to keep) taste like they were made from a mix and is always cloyingly sweet. However, if you go off the tropical drinks menu and order normal beverages, it's much better. The food: mediocre. They have the usual beach restaurant fare, like something crusted mahi, and the like. I've always found the food a little bland, but nothing terrible or unedible. The service: slow. I think the best service I've gotten was when I sit the bar. Which is generally always busy/packed. Yes, busy bar service is better than the table service. Ponder that for a minute. Basically...it's just a run of the mill restaurant. The view from the upper level is pretty good, but if you're here during the busy season, good luck trying to get a table outside. I did give this place a one star bump because the last time we were here, our friends and my husband got hit on by a bunch of cougars. Like, they were on the prowl and they weren't letting go of their prey. Heh. I know that I could have probably helped the boys out...but instead, the girls and I grabbed our bags, hopped in the car, and went back to the house...leaving the boys to the mercy of half a dozen drunk and horny cougars. Heh. I'm an *awesome* wife.

Post-labor day, slow weekday happy hour visit. Servers hang in a click, project a snobby vibe and take 10-15 minutes to approach the table. Bathrooms gross as mentioned. Ordered one of everything from the HH food menu for a group of 6. Fish tacos were a single cod fish stick atop of some iceberg/pico. Gross, and a solid representation of the rest of their menu. Two for one...first and last!

Oh boy, two stars is dead on for this place. Went in one afternoon to take advantage of their mid day specials. After seeing the porch overlooking the ocean we knew this was going to be worth it. Or not. First, mid day specials are only available inside, which robs you of the beautiful view of the ocean. When we told the hostess we wanted to sit outside ,we were told it was for customers ordering food. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous, especially on a Monday afternoon. after a little posturing we finally got seated outside. Our waiter was pretty understanding which ended up being the only reason this place got an extra star. Orange crush is a bust, especially at 7.50.

  • Jenny D.

The only good thing about this place was the view. The food came out relatively quickly but it was easy to see why- everything tasted like it was old, defrosted or out of a bag and reheated (poorly) in a microwave. We started with overcooked, flavorless calamari with jar cocktail sauce on the side. There was a black hair on the lemon. I got a Cesar salad with rare tuna. The tuna was a small chunk of grayish, clearly thawed, completely unseasoned gross and the dressing was not even tossed on the salad. My boyfriend got the diver scallops and they were cold, rubbery and one was completely under cooked. The mashed potatoes were hard and cold. The bill came to $70. It was one of the most regrettable meals I have ever eaten. I also noticed many meals coming out incorrect or being sent back for being cold. Stay away from this place at all costs. The view is awesome but not worth the horrible culinary experience.

Mango's (it's not Mango Mike's anymore or so the bartender told me) is my home away from home on the beach. Wish I could post pictures to this review because the view from their deck is spectacular. Not going to lie, the food isn't amazing but the quesadillas and jerk chicken wings are above average. Come to think of it, I found a jerk chicken wing in my luggage a week later. Really not quite sure how that got there. Anyway, I don't think I've ever eaten an entree there... that's not why you go to Mango's. The bartenders are solid, entertaining and know their stuff. Still feel bad for the guy that offered us a shot of fruit loop vodka which turned out to be just as horrid as it sounds. Can't really comment on the wait staff as I have never sat in the dining room. They have parties in the evening, two full bars and a great happy hour scene which is absolutely perfect when it comes to wandering in off of the beach craving a cold beer. I spent a week in Bethany in July and our group visited Mangos no less than 4 times. If you're not into happy hour crowds or gorgeous views of the beach, this place probably isn't for you. Otherwise, it'd be a crime to miss it.

Came yesterday while on vacation, service and food were ok, drink specials good for a tourist area. Returned today, and waited 30 minutes (no exaggeration). We were never served or approached for service. We ended up leaving and decided to save our money instead. We told the hostess what had happened on our way out. She glanced up from her cell phone to look at the table we had vacated (never looked at anyone in our party directly), and looked back down at her phone without acknowledging us. Not only negligent, but outright rude for no true reason.

Great friendly service. Warm welcome by hostess. They were very attentive to our kids which was appreciated. Food was nothing spectacular. I had the Tuna sandwich which was basically a piece of tuna on a cheap bun. The fries were good though. More likely 3 1/2 stars.

  • Jennifer T.

I loved it here! It's the only place like this in Bethany. My husband and I sat outside on the deck, which overlooked the beach...it was beautiful. It was also at least 20 degrees cooler up there with the breeze than it was walking around town. We had a few beers and shared a nacho app. The nachos were decent, nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The beer was cold and delicious. While we were there my parents came and met us, they also had drinks and a chicken quesadilla app, they thought it was tasty. Then my brother, sister-in-law and nephew came up. They also ordered drinks. I felt bad for our waitress that we kept adding people and drinks, but she was super sweet and didn't mind at all. She happily accommodated us all. My only complaint (which I can kind of understand their reasoning behind) was that you cannot sit outside on the deck unless you are ordering food. If you only want drinks you have to sit in the bar area inside. That turned me off a little bit, but splitting an app counted as food, so it was all good and we were allowed to sit outside. This is the only reason they don't get 5 stars.

Wow, seems like giving this place three stars is an outstanding review, compared to the other comments. I wonder if the same folks who rated Harpoon Hannah's so poorly also visited Mango Mike's. These are beach restaurants, folks. If you want fancy, visit Manhattan or South Beach. Mango's has the best restaurant views in Bethany Beach. The bar doesn't face the water, but it is raised above the main restaurant on a platform, with ramps leading up to the bar area - it gives the bar a decidedly beachy feel. Every server we encountered was pleasant. We went there for their Thanksgiving buffet (a great deal, $18 per head, all you can eat). The food was cooked in smaller than normal batches (for a buffet), ensuring a fresher quality. In addition to turkey and ham, they had a nicely broiled salmon. And all of the usual Thanksgiving fixins: Sweet potatoes (with marshmallows), red skin mashed potatoes, string beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and several different pies to choose from. I've been to the Mango's in Alexandria as well, and the two locations are like oil and water. The Bethany Beach spot is resort-like and family oriented (those looking for a big singles scene are encouraged to visit nearby Ocean City or Dewey Beach). The Alexandria location is meat market deluxe. But both spots do have those parrot drinks, where you can keep the parrot tumbler. One extra half star for that.

Two words: unbelievably noisy. Food is okay. Had the pork chop special. Chewy. Asparagus was not fresh and the mashed potatoes tasted like leftovers. Service is friendly.

Mango Mike's had everything going for them to yield a 4-star review from me...until the last 15 minutes where it all went down hill and I vowed not to return. Let's start with the good: We climbed the stairs to find people waiting but were immediately able to obtain a table outside on their deck area which was perfect because then we could continue to enjoy the Beetles impersonation band playing on the boardwalk. Our server quickly took our drink orders - pina colada in a ceramic coconut yelp.com/biz_photos/VLxw… (could keep the mug) , margarita in a tall skinny plastic cup (also could keep this cup), iced tea and water. For eats, we started with an order of nachos yelp.com/biz_photos/VLxw… and bacon wrapped scallops (only 2 are pictured but there were 4 - we ate and I forgot to take a photo when they first came) yelp.com/biz_photos/VLxw… . The nachos were really quite tasty and had the appropriate chip to toppings ratio so you weren't left with a pile of plain chips after you ate the top layer - a definite win. For my entree, I got the chicken/coconut shrimp combo yelp.com/biz_photos/VLxw… with mashed potatoes instead of rice+beans since beans aren't really my thing. Again, I really enjoyed my dish - the chicken was delicious - juicy, flavorful meat and crispy charred skin. The shrimp were plump and tender and had a light coconutty flavor that was not overwhelming. All in all, I was very happy with my meal here. So what ruined it? Well, I'm glad you asked. The menu had 2 pages of their specialty drinks and each price was listed next to its picture. The pina colada was marked $6. Our bill came and it was $11. So we asked the server what the deal was since the menu said it was only $6 and that was the reason the person ordered it. So off he went to find the manager and returned saying it's ALWAYS been $11 and even though the menu says $6, they will not adjust the price this one time for us. Now, it's not like we were trying to be stingy over $5 but if you advertise your drink at $6, is it really unreasonable for your guest to dispute it when the bill comes? We then requested to see the manager and he arrived in a huff and said they would discount it this one time but they would never do it again since the regular price is $11. Okay then, how about updating your menu or even better, update your website which hasn't seen an update since 2006? He was very condescending and I almost said, "Don't worry, it won't matter because I probably will not be returning...ever." So after we got the bill adjusted, instead of seeing if we were paying with multiple cards/cash, he ended up running just the one card we had stuck in the waiter wallet when we were originally trying to figure out the bill. So one person of our party had the whole bill charged to her when we had planned to split with cash and cards. What started out as a lovely evening here ended on a sour note and I am sure I will never return to the Mango Mike's here or in Alexandria.

If I could give their food a negative star I would. People throw around the word literally far too much but when I say this is literally in the top three worst restaurants I've ever been to, I mean it. It's pretty hard to mess up a Caesar salad and coconut shrimp. I ordered both of these and didn't eat either one. The salad had slightly flavored globs of mayonnaise as dressing. The coconut shrimp was just in edible. I've never been able to send food back but this may have been the first time. While the view on the deck is nice, I would rather have sour milk than return to this restaurant ever again.

My gf and her friends have been coming to Mango's for years. They've always loved the food. We had a great meal on a hot summer evening on the deck. I highly recommend the pork tenderloin. It's marinated overnight in a garlic orange marmalade. I substituted the garlic mashed for rice and beans which were good.

My wife and I were married on the beach, and then held a reception at Mango's. Alex (the owner/manager) was absolutely wonderful, handling all the details of our reception personally, and helping us plan and hold a perfect event. The food and service for weddings is definitely stepped up from Mango's normal fare. It's good as a restauarant, but it was extraordinary as a wedding venue. They even added menu selections to accomadate my wife's food restrictions (she is vegan). Our reception was held in the side lounge overlooking the town and Ocean, and we couldn't have been happier. 5 stars, and definitely reccomend to anyone.

We had a great time at Mangos. Presentation of food was top notch. Jerk scallops were delicious, grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were tasty as well. Only negative point was the one salad was warm... must have been under the heater waiting. All in all a solid 4 star rating!

If I could give zero stars I would. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came over to our table- I asked a passing waitress if she could tell us who our server was- she gave us an excuse as to why she couldn't help. I went to the computer station and asked for a manager- I was told there were four on duty- none ever came to our table. When we finally got a server and ordered the Puka Puka- we were told the restaurant was out of the bowls. We asked to get it in another bowl, the bartender refused... The entire time we waited- in plain sight of the hostess stand- the hostess was texting on her phone... HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

I've had two extraordinarily poor experiences here so I feel just in giving Mango Mike's 1 star. The first time, we saw our waiter exactly one time: to take our order. Someone else brought our food and then that was it. No one ever came to check on us, or refill drinks, or give us our check. We waited for at least 30 minutes after eating and then finally just plopped some money down and left. That is the first and only time I've ever had to do that. The second time I ordered a drink which their menu stated was $6.95. Once we got our bill my drink was listed as $11. I brought it to our waiters' attention and he very politely said he would check on it. He came back and said that his manager wouldn't change the price because the drink is $11. I laughed, showed him the menu and said "well your menu seems to feel it's $6.95". After some back and forth he asked me if I wanted to speak with a manager and I said yes. Finally the manager comes out, very angrily presents me with an updated receipt and says "We'll make the change this one time but don't come back expecting us to do it again! This is an $11 drink; always has been." I wasn't trying to pull a fast one, but I was treated as if I was manipulating the system, like someone who shows up to happy hour for some free food but doesn't drink anything but water. I'm in Bethany every year and I will never ever come back here, even if the view is good.

I love Mango's! It is what it is - I never come expecting incredible food, but when I come off the beach for snacks and a drink, it is perfect! The staff is great and usually remembers your face from year-to-year. They are incredibly nice and always good at offering suggestions about places in the area. The drinks are great - love their Skinny Colada and Grapefruit Crushes. Also love that they have happy hour from 1-6 every day - perfect for a mid-day break from the sun. The wings are very good, and that's coming from my boyfriend from Buffalo (a wing expert, if you will). They also make a good burger and quesadilla.

Stopped in for a drink. Really cool place and the margaritas are delish! Cant wait to try in the summer.

Mango Mike's is exactly what you'd expect from a Delaware beach side bar/restaurant (great drinks, decent service, and average but overpriced food). If you go in thinking anything else, you'll be disappointed. Right frame of mind? Here we go: 1. Location - the best in Bethany. You're right in the heart of the boardwalk and there is a decent sized patio area of tables with great beach/ocean views. 2. Atmosphere - well themed, Caribbean decor, fish tanks, palm trees, etc. 3. Kids - kid friendly. Lots of high chairs, an elevator to get you and your stroller up, drinks in fish bowls. Standard kids menu items. 4. Happy hour - excellent! It runs from 1-6 (happy 5 hours!) with good discounts on food and drinks... beer was $2.50 a pint, which is exceptionally well priced for the beach. Downside is that it's only at the bar area. 5. Food - average at best. If you stick with the sandwich-type food, you'll be good. Main dishes are way overpriced for what you get.

It's really annoying when the menu on their website is from 2006. Like another reviewer, my first visit to Mango's left me with the impression that they were expensive and the food wasn't that good. My second trip fared a tad better. We were their on the 4th of July. My son had their very plump chicken tenders and his milk was served with 5 toys! I ordered a TALL captain and coke and they charged me for a DOUBLE. Why is it that 75% of waitstaff get this order wrong? If I wanted a double I would've asked for a double. I order the 'very veggie pasta' dish and it was watery and tasteless. The black bean hummus lacks flavor. The quesadillas are same 'ole-same ole. This place is only good for fancy, expensive cocktails in the bar.

Had a decent time here at dinner with the family. It was really loud, but that's as expected at the beach. Our party was too big for the patio seating which was a bummer. I got the CocoLoco shrimp which was coconut battered shrimp. It definitely could have been crispier, the batter was a bit soggy, the veggies were OK, and the rice was decent. My husband got the salmon and enjoyed it. Our son enjoyed his chicken fingers off the kids menu. Overall it was an OK experience. Nice atmosphere down on the boardwalk. You can always go get ice cream and hit the shops after dinner.

Bad food, bad service... Went for lunch last weekend with daughter and wife. Ordered jerk chicken sandwhich, coconut shrimp app, children's shrimp poppies and fish tacos. All were BAD. Actually returned the shrimp poppies as they were not even cleaned. Who wants to eat the vein and shrimp poop....especially a child. Waitress had audacity to say they don't have time to clean them. Should have returned rest of the food. If I were you, I wouldn't order food there. Maybe stick to drinks or just find another place to go. Enjoy the beach!

Nice atmosphere. Food was good, but I don't care for rosemary and the jerk chicken wings were covered in it. I would go again but would try something else.

Nice view but the food was below average. Service was slow but friendly.

Come to Mango Mike's only because it's the only bar that fits a bunch of sandy beach bums in it comfortably, and because they offer a Happy Hour with a few drinks and beers as well as half-priced food to soak up the alcohol. Don't expect your tastebuds to be dazzled, though - I guarantee a 12-year-old could make better nachos, and the chicken fingers were barely edible. Tuna tartar was the only worthwhile food option we tried. The Mangorita tastes like it came out of a container and like it's loaded with high fructose corn syrup and other artificial non-foods. The John Daly is easy enough to push down, although not entirely enjoyable. This is a good place to watch games. Happy hour ONLY applies to the bar area - don't bother trying to negotiate this.

We go here every year when we come for vacation, not sure why we buy food here. Coming for drinks is great. The environment and location are great. The apps are ok, but the dinner items are not very good. I have had the tuna (my favorite) several times now in different ways and it has been way over cooked. The tuna sandwich I got this year was horrible. The tuna was cooked well even though I said medium. It was a tiny piece on a huge roll.

This restaurant has a great location, and is really fun for families. The live music on the boardwalk, and family atmosphere, made for a nice evening. If you are looking for a fun meal on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk, and a good selection of seafood you will be happy hear. The children's menu will satisfy most kids and family. I had a nice time here. The food was not memorable, but was well prepared and of good value. I have certainly had much worse on the eastern shore. If you come here you will enjoy yourself. If you are looking for a really good meal, I would look elsewhere.

Not very good. It is close to the beach, but that is about it. They would pretty much need to start from scratch to make it half way decent. I would never go back there.

Once again...Yelp triumphs! Don't go. If your starved and just NEED to eat...go for it...otherwise, plenty of other excellent options in the hood.

Great location over looking the boardwalk and ocean. The food is ok at best, but the restaurant is dirty overall. Inside is ok, but the outside patio is embarrassing. I would be ashamed to own this place with the dirty patio the way it is. The food is overpriced for what you get. As a local, I go there once a year just to remind myself why I shouldn't go. Guess I'm hoping that something will change, but it never does.

The problem about Bethany is that there aren't a lot of bars with in safe stumbling distance. You have to stay or drive to Dewey or Rehobeth, or be within walking distance of this place or the Cottage. That being said, while the food wasn't incredible, it was totally edible, and it was a fun place to hang out until last call, which sadly in DE, is 12:45 ish. Bah. The highlight of this place for me was 1) the 24 oz margaritas 2)the fact that all the super cute lifeguards hang out there, tres) the live music, and 4) the excellent view of the beach. I guess the crab cake wasn't half bad. But apparently that's all you can eat at the shore...fish. I want some flipping beef. Or green things, there was a definite derth of those too. Don't go to mangos to eat--go to imbibe.

I had this feeling Mango Mike's was gonna be amazing well, it sorta was. During my vacation to Bethany Beach with the whole family, I tried Mango's twice. The first time, my impression was that they were expensive and the service wasn't very good. The second time, they did much better. I've had the Yellowfin Tuna appetizer which was very delicious but missing something. Also, the CoCoLoCo Shrimp which was amazing and really "wowed" my tastebuds. The second visit I decided to treat myself to a Tiki Shooter which was 2 different rums and fruit juice. It was great and now I find myself wanting more. I would recommend Mango's to anyone who doesn't have small kids, my nephew & niece didn't like the kids meals. They have three choices and one of them being chicken fingers that are a bit spicy even for me. The view is amazing from the dining room, you can also eat outside or at the bar.

Down in Bethany for a long Father's Day weekend. We went to Mango Mike's on Fathers Day for dinner at the spur of the moment - family of four including kids aged 3 and 5. At 6 the place was pretty empty for a Sunday evening. The big plus here is they have the best ocean view for dining in Bethany Beach. Otherwise, this Mango Mike's comes up a bit short. It's not too kid friendly either. The first thing my kids asked when we sat was "where is the coloring page and crayons?" The waitress scrambled and found a couple crayons and a half-sheet of white paper for each child. My wife and I both ordered the Orange Crush, which was dee-lish and quite strong. My wife asked for just a bit of orange juice to weaken the drink (which when the bill came I saw that we were charged $2.50 for a glass of OJ). That comes right off the tip in my book. The menu looks great with lots of choices. The kids menu is the usual - chicken tenders, hot dog, cheeseburger and noodles and butter, all priced around $6. My kids ordered the noodles, which was just a small plate of spaghetti. Add the lemondate, which I also found out when I got the bill was $2.50, and we paid around $9 each for kids to eat plain noodles and drink tap lemonade. We ordered crab and spinach dip which came out right away, but so did our entrees, about 2 minutes later. When I said "wow that was fast, we just got our dip" the waitress didn't pick up on it or didn't acknowledge. We both had pasta-based entrees with seafood that were decent but not worth the $20+ price tag considering the minimal amount of seafood in the bowl. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars vs. the 3.

Not very good at all. Too bad because the location is great. It's the only restaurant that I know of that you can look at the ocean while you eat (in Delaware).

I'm not sure why Mango's has a 2.5-star rating, but it's one of the better dining options on the boardwalk. Nothing on the menu will knock your socks off -- except maybe the 64-ounce mixed drinks served in fish bowls -- but it's good enough food, and it's oceanfront. The service isn't the best, but who cares? You're at the beach. Sit outside and enjoy a drink overlooking the ocean.

Not bad considering location. This place has a lot going for it if you keep your expectations in check. We were traveling with two children. Location- outstanding it was nice sitting outdoors overlooking the ocean. Service- very fast and very friendly. However, not the most professional waitstaff going. Summer help?? Kid friendly. Service was fast and they were very friendly dealing with the kids. Love the theme. The food was good. Overall a positive experience.

My friend and I spent the weekend at Bethany Beach and decided to go to Mango's because I USED to enjoy the Mango Mike's in Alexandria. We were sat quickly in a corner booth inside the restaurant and within about 5 minutes we were completely covered by flies. We tried our best to shoo them away but by the time our food came it was impossible to eat. We had flies in our food and the waitresses did nothing about it. We were so horrified we just picked up and left. I had stopped going to the one in Alexandria about 3 years ago when a good friend said she was having dinner and drinks there and a rat ran across the floor. I had no idea they could stay in business with this kind of disgust happening at both restaurants. I would NOT Recommend going to either restaurant. The Health department needs to check this place out and see if this was a coincidence or a habit.

A kid trap that you need to go. Food is ok, not great. Right on the beach and if there is entertainment on the boardwalk it is good to sit outside on the deck.

Of course, as with all in-town places, parking is a problem and you need to watch your timing or your reasonable evening out is not! I've tried this place 4 times.......and never gotten in. Each time they were closed to the public for a private party, an event happening later that evening, etc. So while the view may be great, and the food and drinks good, be sure to check to see if they will let you in before planning a big night out!

the atmosphere is nice. a cute deck to sit on and see the action below. we just went for lunch on our way back to va so i didn't get to sample any of the drinks but the crab cake sandwich wasn't bad. i did leave my purse there for some inexplicable reason but i called last night and the manager told me it would be no problem to stick it in the mail today. fingers crossed!

I wish they had more of a bar atmosphere - but other than that this was a most excellent place to hide from the small children in my family. I like the pina coloda - I did drink 5 of them... yummmmm.... excellent view of the beach & the coconut shrimp were pretty delish as well!

Mango Mike's has always been a family favorite. My sisters and I began as patrons with our father and now continue with our own children. They offer an excellent Happy Hour. The bar is small but very conducive to conversation. They offer a variety of beers on tap, including Smithwicks. They have outside seating which works well for our large family. They have drink specials, which includes Mangoritas, which is grandma's favorite. For the more adventurous they offer a fish bowl, which is enough to share with friends and you get to keep the bowl and the shark the extra shot came in. Their menu is of carribean influence. We usually hit happy hour and enjoy the awesome view of the beach as well as their specials. Chicken quesidillas, crab dip, cuban hummus, and hot tropical wings. They offer sandwiches, entrees and childrens menu too.

Went to Mango Mike's based on earlier Yelp review. We enjoyed the quick service, tasty food and view of the beach and boardwalk. Parking can be tough since Mango Mike's is located on the main drag of Bethany's beach district, but we were lucky and got a meter right out front. The food was good, drinks were excellent and price range from 17-30 for the dinner selection. I would recommend this and am glad we came. Our kids liked the children's menu and had chicken finger and shrimps. Both tasty and a good size portion!
