I went to beef it up to grab a bite to eat on my lunch break. I was not disappointed the Italian beef sandwich was very tasty and juicy. Make sure you get it dipped it's the only way to eat it. The fresh cut fries were also a great touch. They sell Vienna sausage products which if you from the Midwest you know it's practically impossible to find here on the east coast. I would recommend it to anyone food is great and costumer service was awesome.

Was looking for something new, but had some doubts. Italian Beef had some kick! #SurprisingTwist

I'm from Chicago so any chance I get to have an authentic Chicago hot dog or Italian beef is a mouth watering dream come true. I was so torn whether to get the Vienna beef hot dog (can pile with fresh cut fries) or an Italian Beef (offered wet or dry but come on Au jus is where it's at). I went with the beef and was thrust back into Chicago foodie reverie. They bake their own bread and make their own giardinera which is nice and spicy. Everything tastes incredibly fresh because well, it is! The decor is all Chicago themed in Bulls colors and is super clean and welcoming, as are the staff. The owner Mike is such a pleasant guy and will make sure you are well fed and cared for. He takes a lot of pride in his business and it shows. When I'm back in town I'm coming for you hot dog!!

Probably the best beef sandwich I've had in forever. I got the combo sandwich, my girlfriend got the Italian beef, large order of fries to share. I have to say that we will definitely be back. Portion size was good, everything was cooked amazingly well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very much so recommend.

First time having an authentic Italian Beef from Beef it Up and I am very impressed. Everything comes out piping hot and delicious. The peppers give great spice to this great sandwich can't wait to try the sausage next time.

The Italian beef sandwich here is nothing special. It's rather very small if you compare it to the Portillos Italian beef sandwich. I think the owner def needs to increase the amount of meat in the sandwich and pour more of the Italian beef flavoring onto the bread. The interior of the roll is suppose to be semi soggy. In the grand scheme of things the Italian beef sandwich here is put together more like a cheesesteak.

I am originally from the South Side of Chicago! Chatham if I might add. But, I digress - now that I am here on the East Coast it has been painfully hard to find Chicago cooking. Well I am happy to say that the Italian Beef here is as good as it gets and his homemade Giardiniera is simply amazing! The service is spectacular and the owner is super sweet! Thank you for bringing me a taste of home right here to Delaware....It makes me feel like I am on Taylor street in Chicago at the original Al's in Historic Little Italy....

As a former restaurant employee who married a former Sous Chef, I know you usually don't try a new place in the first week or so, but I've been watching the owners work on the place for months -- so I had to stop in as soon as I saw the OPEN sign. The first person I met was the owners fiancé. She is an absolute delight. She didn't know all of the nuances of the menu, but what she didn't know, she went to find out. She is a keeper. We did take out so we could deconstruct the sandwiches at home, and all sample. We chose the three most authentic Chicago Sammie's -- the Ditka Polish Sausage, traditional Chicago dog and Italian Beef. Full disclosure. It's been probably 20 years since I last visited Chicago, but you never forget good food. Tearing into the bags, the steaming Mike Ditka Monster Polish came out first. So what's in a name? This one says it all. Served traditional Chicago style with diced onions and yellow mustard. It's almost enough to make a Bears fan out of anyone. The traditional Chicago dog came out next. If your idea of a Chicago dog is a Sonic dog, you're cheating yourself. This all beef red frank has a satisfying snap when you bite it. Mustard, onions, tiny peppers, tomatoes, a thin wedge of dill pickle and awesome bright green Chicago style relish. This is an authentic Chicago dog. It's like a party in your mouth. The Italian Beef was next. Tender beef on a fresh roll, we opted for the spicy Giardiniera Peppers and "cheddar" cheese (sauce). In Philly, they call it Whiz. This was a perfectly acceptable Italian beef, but Chicago has nothing on a Philly Roast Pork Hoagie. Still, for $7.50 with a side of fries, it's not a bad deal. As for the Giardiniera Peppers? Never heard of it? Check the menu. Never tried it? It would be good on a flip flop as a certain TV chef likes to say. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement. The fresh cut fries were tasty, but would have benefitted from a couple more minutes in the fryer. I don't mind paying 50 cents for cheese and 50 cents for au jus (you want the Italian Beef wet, trust me), but if so, your online menu should also say so. (Disclosure, we used the online menu. These charges are listed in their printed menu. Second Disclosure. That doesn't matter.) Also, please spend a few extra cents and buy an au jus container that doesn't leak. The amount of au jus was skimpy enough, worse when it leaked all over the bottom of the bag. Last, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but you should never send carry out orders without napkins -- especially if your liquid containers leak. All in all, points for quality of food, cleanliness, friendliness and authenticity. A bonus for delivering to the curb since the driver was on crutches. A point off to account for room to improve. It would get a 4.5 if that was an option. And keep that fiancé around. She makes your guests feel right at home -- if home were sweet home Chicago.

The owners are great, and the food was wonderful. My wife being from Chicago said the Italian Beef sandwich was excellent. The Chicago style hot dogs are genuine Vienna Beef with all the great toppings, including the sport peppers.

Great food! Great and friendly service! Recommend for anyone who is in the area. Also worth the drive if you're not. I have never been to Chicago before, but I have heard all sorts of good things about an Italian Beer sandwich. I was looking for a place in Delaware, and viola I found it! Delicious sandwich!

Stopped in for lunch. Owner was very gracious. Young staff and has the new store jitters...but the food was out of the park! Had the combo sandwich, Chicago dog and the pasta salad. All were great! I'll be back for sure!

Great beef sandwich and bread that can hold the weight of the juice. Made me home sick. The portions are well worth the money. Going back as soon as I can to try the polish. Now bring the Chicago style pizza!!!!

Stopped by with my son for Grand Opening. Did not know what to expect. We had a really tasty and fulfilling lunch. My son had a Chicago Dog & fries which were fresh cut. I had a Italian Beef sandwich wet with cheese & a spicy homemade gardinare. Sandwich also included fresh fries. Beef was very tender and flavorful. Staff and service was fairly quick. Place was clean with every cluster of tables included a chess set to play with. A nice touch for sure, very kid friendly ! Management stopped to check on tables for feedback, I'm sure comments should be very favorable ....

One of my favorite fast food places anywhere is Portillo's in Chicago. This restaurant is right with it. Slightly different, but excellent quality italian beef. My wife had the Ditka's spicy polish sausage which was very good too. In fact, I don't know of a place within a hour's drive where you can get as good of a sausage sandwich. Even the fries were tasty. Boardwalk style fries, fried and salted perfectly. The owner and staff were super friendly. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. If you'd like some high quality variety from the usual cheesesteaks and such, you won't regret trying anything from Beef It Up. If there's anything I'd need to make this a regular stop, it would be some non-soda beverage choices. Like some brewed ice tea. But the bottles and customer accessible dispenser with Coke products isn't too shabby.

If you want authentic Chicago style hot dogs and beefs' this is the place! Vienna beef hot dogs and beef sandwiches that remind me of Bueno Beef. The buns and bread are a bit different than Chicago style bread for these sandwiches but it's not a complaint it's just different. I am a Chicagoan and I have had more than my share of Portillos and Burno Beef over the years so I know what I'm talking about.

Great customer service and food...what more can you ask for! The Italian beef was on point! Support this business folks! It is hard to find good places to eat in Delaware, but y'all are definitely on the come-up with this gem!

I am from Chicago - and I almost drove off the side of the road when I saw the banner. Chicago style beef! Yes. This is true Chicago beef. Bravo! The Vienna hotdogs are spot on. Right down to the neon relish. Please take a moment and try this place out. The Chicago memorabilia is great (although a bit lacking in the Cubs IMHO). The food reminds me of home. The place is immaculate and the prices are NOT Chicago prices - meaning it is affordable. Order the Chicago hotdog and you will not be disappointed. I was enjoying having poppy seeds once again smattered on my napkin!

John R Newark,De My family just ate at Beef it up Sandwich and it was AWESOME. I had the Italian beef sandwich, my wife had the same and both of us said it was a great tasting sandwich. We also had the French fries that are freshly cut everyday, along with the vegetable mixture they put on the sandwich that they mix everyday. We witness some of the best customer service we have experienced in a long time. Mike and his co-worker were so nice and helpful, it was just a great experience that you don't find anymore, especially in this area. People please try this place out you will enjoy the experience. Hopefully by getting the word out this place will be around for awhile. MIKE, keep it going, with great food and customer service.

Stopped in for the first time this past weekend. We were promptly greeted and he was very friendly. I got the Italian beef sandwich and my wife got the chili dog. Beef sandwich was good with all of the fixens and the chili dog was good but nothing over a normal but good chili dog. The fries were fresh and seasoned well. I'll Def be back to try the beef and sausage sandwich. The guy mentioned they might be adding breakfast in several month. I'd me excited fo a sausage, egg, and pepper sandwich!

After reading the Yelp reviews we decided to give this place a try and we were so glad we did! Italian beef was awesome - the homemade gardiniere made it! The Chicago-style hotdog was equally amazing topped with fresh peppers, onions, and tomato. Fresh handcut fries were some of the best I've had in Delaware. Super friendly staff and clean place. We'll definitely be back! Glad to have a new place to eat in Bear.
