I've been twice now and will definitely keep coming back. Food is great, reasonably price and comes out fast and hot! Service has always been attentive and friendly. It's a great little local restaurant that is a great addition to our neighborhood.

I love this place. The service is a little slow but the food is amazing. The only thing I wish they did is advertise their happy hour a little better. They do have one and their margaritas are homemade and delicious. Tamales are awesome and green chili had the right amount of spice. I will be back very soon.

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Home cooked style. every dish I have tried has been delicious. Great service. Micheladas muy bien. Menudo is fantastic during the cold season.

I live right by Ana's- so it is quickly becoming my go to for Mexican. I love that I can call in an order for take out, pick it up and be home in minutes. They do a great job with takeout- separating what needs to be in different boxes so it doesn't get mushy. The portions are nice and big- but not excessive- which is good because leftover Mexican isn't exactly ideal. I recommend the fried tacos with shredded beef. They remind me exactly of the tacos I used to get in New Mexico. Most places don't do shredded beef, so I recommend you try it with whatever you order. If you stop by and dine in- try the house margarita. It comes in an oversized mason jar with fruit.

Great service. Great chips and salsa. Specials have been surprising tasty. We have yet to be disappointed.

I love eating here! Anna and her staff are always very nice, and treat us like family. Try the Mexican Chicken Soup! That's my personal favorite. Great food! Highly recommended!

I have been here five or six times, and it has always been awesome! It is superclean and the service is great. I brought my mother and sister here the other day and they are very hard to please, and they both were thrilled. If you get the chance to eat here, do! The chips and salsa are awesome, and the Carnitas are unbeatable :-)

I love this place! Service is excellent and the breakfast tacos are delish! The early business hours are very convenient too :)

Ana's is the best Mexican food I've had in Colorado! The cheese and onion enchiladas are made with real red chile sauce and not the typical ranchero other restaurants serve. The soft chile rellano plate is fantastic! They are covered with a chile verde that is pure magic. You MUST try this place!

Food was very good. Service was awesome. We had a great experience. We used to go to 3 Margaritas but we moved. This is our new favorite Mexican Restaurant.

Some of the better food at 120th and Federal. Good service, margarita, salsa and food. I have had several things on the menu and have never been disappointed.

Chicken mole is unbelievable! Been here at least 6 times and everything I have tried was excellent. Best mexican food in the area by many many miles. Margaritas are great too.

Best Mexican food in Westminster! The food is great and the chips, salsa and guac are to die for. We've been coming here since they opened and we have never had a bad meal. Be sure to try the chicken poszole, it's the best chicken soup you've ever had! The fried tacos with chicken are also outstanding. Also try the Bronco Margarita! Please bring back the menudo!

This place has great food and margs! Everything was quick and yummy. I do think the prices are a little high for Mexican food but we will still most likely choose them again to fill our Mexican-good cravings.

This restaurant is quickly becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Denver area. Very delicious and authentic food, it reminds me of how my family cooks. Breakfast is affordable and yummy, Huevoc con Chorizo! The Micheladas are yummy too. Great service, friendly staff. I love this place!

Came here on a Friday night, so we knew it'd be busy. Greeting: this place was super busy and there is not a great place to wait. They have two park benches by the entrance and that's all for a waiting area. Would be helpful if they'd divide the space differently. Chips & Salsa: so you're at a Mexican restaurant, you have to start with chips and salsa, right? They were okay ... Nothing to write home about, but decent. However, it is a total pet peeve of mine when Mexican restaurants charge for additional baskets (they charge $1.50 here), especially if you wait a while. Service: Slow ... Very ... Very ... Slow :( We were here for over an hour and never even got our food. We finally gave up and left. Wish I could have said the food was worth the wait, but I can't even say that since we were all hungry and cranky and chose to bail and find somewhere else.

After reading the reviews for Ana's, my wife and I had to try it. We arrived at 5:00 on Thursday night and were seated immediately. There were only two other people seated at the time we arrived. Chips and salsa were almost immediate and house margaritas weren't far behind. The salsa was delicious and obviously really fresh. The house margarita (served in a canning jar) was equally tasty and plenty of it. I had the number 18 combo and my wife the chicken enchilada. Both enchiladas were great and not greasy. The chile relleno was not the best I've ever had but still worthy of mention. (The best relleno was in Hatch, New Mexico - of course). Service was excellent and friendly. By the time we left at 5:45, it was busy and getting busier. We'll certainly be back!!

Ana's is by far one of my favorite restaurants. It's among the only Mexican restaurants that caters to the gf community. Their red enchilada sauce is amazing!!!... And gluten free! Yay!!! The staff is always friendly too. My favorite dish- the tampiqueña!

  • D. C.

This is a clean little restaurant with friendly attentive employee's. The food is ok but it is a bit pricey, $25.00 plus tip for 2 people at lunch. The green chile is just Salsa Verde with pork in it. I'll try it one more time but I don't think I'll become a regular here.

After having dinner here I have to say I'm seriously disappointed. Both with the food and my fellow yelpers who gave this place five stars. Chips and salsa-- store bought cheap chips. Like eating cardboard and completely ruins the taste of anything you put on them. Entrees-- I got the veggie fajitas and hubby got steak and shrimp fajitas. They left something to be desired. Lacking flavor and the sides were small and nothing special. Asked hubby what he thought of his meal and he said "I've had better." Never something you want to hear a man say. Service-- kinda slow and our waiter had REALLY bad b.o. Definitely not a good trait to have when serving food. Please, please stop calling this place good Mexican food.

Best food ever. And so reasonable. Hubby and I get out with tip for under $30 everytime. The food is all very fresh and made to order. Love, love, love it!

I think that Ana's is one of the better Mexican restaurants around in an area with plenty of them. The food is very good and fresh. the service that I have had has been good or great. The margaritas are very good. the atmosphere is open and casual but not loud like most newer restaurants. We will definitely return.

Ana's has been a solid go to place for us. The customer service is top notch and the food is amazing. I would recommended trying the chili relleno omelette.. Every server is committed to making your experience inviting. Thank you Ana's for being awesome.

  • John R.

Just tried Ana's for the first time after hearing good things from our neighbor. Salsa is homemade and excellent. Chips are good. I had the steak burrito and my son had steak fajitas. All ingredients were fresh and everything tastes homade. Ana's is owned by a wonderful family and it is great to see them succeeding by taking pride in what they do. This place is WAY better than 3 Margaritas and any other places in the north metro. We will be back. Our waiter Carlos was excellent as well.

    (5)
  • Chris K.

Carnitas we uninspiring considering they were the special. Probably could have been good if they were fried to finish. Chips and salsa were pretty decent. I will give it another try but am not dying to go back. I would really like to see a successful and tasty Mexican place around here so best of luck.

Had dinner there last night, we may have been the first customers. Nice place, very friendly wait staff. Food was good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. This is a new restaurant, the owner, Ana, used to own the Casa Blanco in Arvada. While I never ate there the Yelp reviews for that restaurant were very good. I understand Ana's has the same menu, and certainly Ana is the common element.

If I based this review on my food alone it would have been 2 stars, but my husband was very happy with his meal so I bumped it up one. We both had Tacos al Carbon. He enjoyed the Adovada (pork). He said that the flavor was really good. I had the chicken, which was a little dry, had an off-putting taste to it. Something like gas from the grill. The refried beans were a little bland, but the rice was good. The service was strange. The gentleman at the door was very friendly and so was the bus boy, who also kept or drinks full. Our actual server, however, was slow and appeared a bit perturbed with us needing a few minutes to decide. I'm not an impatient person but when you see a server only to take the order, deliver the order, and deliver the check when there are only 3 other tables in the place, that server is not attentive enough. Especially when they are grumpy on top of being unseen.

We've tried this place a couple of times and have been pleased. Definitely a lot of food for the money. They smoother most of their dishes with green chili which is normally great. However, their green chili is a bit watery so it leaves a pool of water in the plate. Still, overall a good experience.

    (4)
  • Andrea R.

Very disappointing food & service. Save your money & try one of the other Mexican restaurants in Westminster! Do not expect to have coupons honored as issued. We are happy to never return.

First time at Ana's last night and ordered dinner to go. While we waited, they sat us at the bar, gave us chips and salsa and ice water. We spoke to Ana's grandson who took care of us. All recipes are his grandmothers. Homemade chips, salsa (yum), and we ordered smothered burritos. The green chili was off the chart. I will definitely be coming back. I am so sick of the flavorless restaurant chain Mexican food. This place is worth the drive.

  • Lucas C.

Disgusting... Enough said. I've had better Mexican food in the Army and the Enchilada MRE ( an MRE is a military ration that lasts years) tasted better than the crap I was just served.... Do not wast your time here. There was absolutely no flavor in the enchilada, green chili ( which was nothing more than chilis grinded in water it seemed) or a simple taco. I found myself adding salt and pepper to my meal. I've never done that at a Mexican restaurant. It wasn't even in the category of gross because there was no flavor!

I always hate travel because it means dining alone, sitting at the bar, and looking at your phone. This was completely opposite. It was like visiting friends. Antonio and everyone was awesome. The food was great, and the salsa was excellent. This was one time I didn't mind traveling alone as I didn't have to share my salsa with anyone. Excellent experience. I will be back and this time might bring friends.

Every time I go there I love to see and talk with Ana! Great family run restaurant, and their chili relleno is the best around!

  • Christina M.

I've only been here once, but my experience was a bit... meh. The salsa was the best thing I ate. The tamale plate I ordered was really bad. Everything from the beans, to the rice (bland), to the awful (old maybe?) tamales, was less than satisfactory. My husband had a chicken chimichanga which was definitely better than the tamale. I may be back to try something simpler, as the price and the service were pretty good. The place smells wonderful, so they must have something good!

Had been waiting for this place to open as I drive by it daily on the way to B Fitness. We finally stopped in for Sunday breakfast and loved it! Staff was friendly and helpful - no waiting for drink refills or chips and salsa refills. Chips were warm and crunchy, salsa was a good texture and the perfect amount of spice. Menu has plenty of options and combinations. Food was excellent. Will definitely recommend this to my friends in the area.

I have eaten here twice onsite and the food is decent and I liked the fajitas. BUT, I tried to get an order to go and it was an Epic FAIL. I have no idea if the guy on the phone was special needs or never worked in a restaurant before but clearly had no business answering the phone. it went like this...ring ring, hello anas mexican grill. Hello, I would like to make a to go order...ok one min....ok, what number? Oh my phone number is 303......No, what number item. Huh?......what number item on the menu. Huh?, I want to order chicken fajitas.......ok, what number is that on the menu? Um, ...I have no clue I am in my car, is there more then one option for Chicken fajitas?......Yes, you can have multiple sides. OK, um yeah I just want chicken fajitas with the usual sides......um, what number is that? Again, I have no clue I do not have a menu in front of me, I am in my car......Yes, you can order extra sides. Huh? What are you talking about?.....What number please. WTF? never mind dude I will just call Coronas......ok, fine, click.

I'm pissed! Slow service, food was just ok and then waited well over 20 minutes to pay. Icing on the cake? They gave my credit card to someone else! My card is gone and I can't trust that whoever ended up with it would return it. The most unprofessional place I've been to... I was suspicious when I noticed the staff was frantically going through a stack of receipts. They asked me what they could do to fix the situation. Really? Don't screw up the most important step of owning a business next time. And hire someone that knows how to operate the POS System... People, take your business to Chico's just down the street.

Casa Blanca is back! Now Ana's Mexican grill. Same great food great service! I was so sad when they left Arvada. I remember going to the old Casa Blanca when I was just a high school student at Arvada West 13 years ago. Very excited about Ana's.

Carnitas on Friday. Darn tasty and cranium sweat inducing. The salsa is really good and is a bit different each time I go there. I'm confident that there are plenty of delicious options on the menus, but I'm quite happy getting the carnitas on Fridays. The service has been quick and friendly every time, and we've never had to wait for a table.

Very excited to try this place, I live about three minutes away. I am constantly complaining that the burbs are all chains.....Ana's was awesome! I lived in Arizona and know a thing or two about Mexican food. Can't say enough good things, they even had wheat bread for my kids grilled cheese! Try the guava marg. delicious!!!

  • Linda A.

Right off the bat, I was very impressed with the salsa - always a great sign! I had a soft chile relleno and red chile enchiladas with a side of rice and beans. Coming from a Mexican family of great cooks - I've enjoyed authentic Mexican food all my life before moving to Colorado and this was just as good! Looks like we've found a new fav for sure!! Can't wait to try all of the other authentic dishes on the menu....

Meals at Ana's are always excellent . The Friday nite carnitas are the best in town. Family owned/run , they take pride in their food. Very good .

We've been eating at Ana's establishments for over 20 years. ( For a long time she owned Casa Blanca in Arvada.) When I lived away from home it was always the first place we went to when we came home to visit. The food is always great and the service very friendly and efficient. This place is the best!!!

  • E R.

What a surprise! The food is delicious! Not anywhere near the chains and certainly all homemade! We were seated quickly even for a busy Friday evening, the service (Antonio) was great. We were charmed by the enthusiasm in this young man's expression for his mom's new restaurant! Try the carnitas (Friday's only so far), the pork seemingly melted in my mouth and the green chili is come of the best I've ever tasted!

I just moved to the area and looking to find a good Mexican joint for some home cooking. I think i found it. Growing up in North Denver I know what good home cooked Mexican food is. This place hits the spot. The green chili is actually green and not fire hot with jalapeños. The beans are good enough to eat on their own. The enchilada sauce was not salty and had some heat to it. Even the chips and salsa was good. Had a combo with a crispy chili relleno and beef and been smothered burrito and cheese enchilada than came with beans and rice. Which were also very good. The service was great. I came in after work which was around 3 so I was the only one there and food was hot and cooked right. Other than a little pricey but non the less great in taste and presentation. I will return to try the adovada and fajitas.

Yum!!! After living here for a year I have finally found the perfect place to go for Mexican food!! This place has it all. From the Pancho Margarita's to the Burritos. Everything was excellent. I will defiantly visit this place again. The service was Top notch as well!!

  • Sean S.

If you want good service and friendly waiters stay away from this place!!! Our waiter and bartender thought it was more important to sit behind the bar and drink then to wait on us! The food was over cooked! It wasn't even busy there was 3 other tables and one couple on the patio. It's pretty sad when you have to go up to the bar to ask for drink refills and when we where ready to leave we sat there and tried to get someone's attention to get our tab no luck!! We really could have just walked right out and nobody would have even noticed! Just a very sad place!!!!

  • Pk R.

Love their food! If they have chipotle enchiladas as the daily special, I always go for that. (Wish they would put them on the regular menu!) Other favorites of mine include pan fried tacos (especially with carnitas) and Ana's Special Shrimp. And the salsa they serve with chips is the best I have ever had (this coming form someone who visits New Mexico often and has lived in Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.) Whatever you order you can't go wrong. They now have patio seating, which is great. Once in a while the service is spotty (meaning slow) because they can get really busy. But just sit back and relax and have another margarita. Also, they are open for breakfast on the weekend, and it is delish too.

My sisters and I went there for a birthday lunch. I recommended it, but had never been there before, so I was only going by these Yelp reviews. My sisters (in there 60s) can be picky eaters, so I wanted to make sure I picked a place that they liked. And they did! The food was very good, and you get a pretty good-size serving. For three of us, with tip it was about $40, but we didn't order any alcohol. Service on the other hand was so-so. I walked in the door, and although two staff members walked right by me, twice, no one asked if they could help me. Finally I grabbed someone and asked if I'm supposed to seat myself. She was very nice, and said, sure, go ahead. Having never been there, I sort of just walked around aimlessly. That's when I discovered they had a little patio out the back door. My sisters were already there, so I seated myself. Our waiter climbed up on a chair and opened our umbrella. Another waiter came to take our order but we weren't quite ready. When we were ready, another waiter took our order. I have no idea what happened to the first guy. Anyway our waiter was good, nice, although no one stopped by very often to refill water glasses, and we sat there visiting (like sisters do) for three hours! They probably could have upsold us by offering more chips and guac, or dessert, which they never did. The food was good enough and I would go back to that patio for that. At least you know they'll leave you alone!

Ana's is our all time favorite Mexican "go to..." And, as a Texas transplant, it's CRAZY important to have identified my "go-to," authentic Mexican food spot.... Like, incredibly important. I've tried lots of places between Ana's and Broomfield... Arvada, Golden, even as far as Denver... Ana's is the spot. Antonio... part of Ana's family and an AMAZING guy who also tends the bar... He can work wonders with Tequila... He makes a hard day go from bad to good! The food.... Fresh ingredients paired with time honored recipes... Prepared when you order and nothing frozen or canned. Ah yeah. Great salsas and great service. We found our home away from home. We had carnitas tonight (Friday's only) and have also enjoyed their fajitas, spinach enchiladas and chili rellenos - all fabulous. It's a great atmosphere and clean. Everyone is smiling and genuinely happy to be there.. Seriously. Go. Tonight. Really. You won't be disappointed and you're welcome in advance :)

Great food! Green chili is not what I'm used to but not bad. The fajitas are excellent as is the chipotle enchiladas. The drinks are nice and strong. If you like spicy drinks definitely get the tasty habanero margaritas. This is one of my regular Mexican spots.

  • A Marie J.

Dinner time and it was delicious. I ordered a margarita and it wasn't too sweet and it was nice and strong. The chips and salsa were great. Fresh made chips and the salsa was spicy and flavorful. For my entree I ordered the fried tacos with chicken. They were nice and crispy full of tasty chicken, cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce. They came with rice and beans. A lot of food for a great price. The service is attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

We all had a great experience, my group and myself. All of our food was delicious, the building was clean, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good, a wee bit slow but good, and the green chile was a wee bit spicy, but also good. We'll be going back for sure!

  • Crystal Girl S.

I have had both good and not do great experiences with the food here. When it's good, it's pretty good if you get the right thing. When it's off, the fish tacos are icky and very fishy tasting. Not worth giving a Second chance. Tacos are good, enchiladas were meh but the Margs were tummy and service has always been great. It's good in a pinch but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here.

  • Sha P.

Service was slow, granted it was during lunch hour. We sat there for over 30 minutes before we got our food. Got the shredded beef Enchilada with both green and red sauce. Ground beef enchilada was bland without the sauce and had no flavor. Meals are reasonably priced.

Ana's has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants for Mexican comfort food. The mole is out of this world and the Friday carnitas are a definite favorite of mine. If you like salsa (and I love salsa) I recommend ordering the salsa sampler. The salsas vary based on what's been recently made but there's generally a roasted jalapeño (I could eat vats of this), a pineapple salsa, and a tomatillo based salsa. Other variations I've had include a hotter than hot red salsa and a tasty ghost chili salsa. Even better, if you become addicted (like I have) you can buy the salsas in pints/quarts to take home. Margaritas are pretty good - I like the guava but do find them a bit strong (I'm a lightweight, though, so don't take my word for it). Saturdays and Sundays Ana's is open for breakfast. Breakfast tacos and chilaquiles are just a couple of the offerings available. Honestly, my husband and I have never had a bad dish here. The service can sometimes get bogged down when they're really busy but all of the staff are very nice and attentive.

Seriously, I have never had a bad meal here. Whether it's take out or dine in Ana's delivers amazing food with the best service. They have created two forever customers. Keep up the good work guys!

Amazing food and very friendly staff. The salsa was too hot for my daughter so they went back and made mild salsa just for her. Highly recommend this place!

The first time I went here it was Cinco De Mayo and it was PACKED. Our server was running around frantically and I was frustrated until our food arrived. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and my boyfriend had the Mexican Hamburger. The chimichanga was so good! It came out perfectly fried to crispy perfection and the flavors were amazing. I love Mexican food and I'm always up for trying new spots and I'm sure glad I came here! Hands down the best chimi I've ever had in my life! We revisited and ordered the same things, this time our service was amazing! My chimi could have been a little more crispy but I'm not complaining, it was still fantastic and the flavor was amazing. My boyfriend orders the Mexican Hamburger everywhere we go and he said it was different than what he's use to but not in a bad way just different. I'd definitely recommend Anas! Great margaritas too :)

We stopped in for dinner on Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m. The place did not appear busy or crowded, I couldn't really tell because it is very spacious with large windows facing traffic on either side. No room for ambiance here. I started off with one of the 'rita's in a pint canning jar, it arrived nicely garnished with a slice of lemon, a slice of lime and salted rim. It appears that I didn't have a choice of rocks or frozen or salt The drink server was quick to arrive as soon as we were seated. This was not so with our waitress who we had to wave at to take our order. I saw three guys working the bar but only one waitress. The food: I had the Chile Verde plate and Hubs had Chile Rellenos. The food arrived steaming hot - OMG! two stars immediately whenever my food not lukewarm. Both plates had a side of rice and refritos - i'll pass on both they did not impress. Hubs enjoyed his rellenos immensely and one of the few times he did not finish his entree. The green chile was mostly me. The first taste of the chile was tomatillos and a little heat. The cubed pork that sat under the chile was dry as if the chile and meat were not cooked together. I love green chile and this was like someone heated up tomatillo salsa and scooped it on leftover pork. Meal done, once again the waitress sat at the bar chatting so we got the drink server's attention to summon her for our check.

Brought the family here for dinner. We tried the enchiladas, chimichangas, rellenos and tamales. All were excellent. If you like spicy, ask for the roasted jalapeños. It's an awesome accompaniment to each of the dishes! Will return soon.

Good but very slow service. Mostly due to being a family place and the employees are likely family and friends not pro servers. Also no organization to how they serve, appears that everyone there works front and back of the house. At any rate nobody was ever in a hurry and everyone we dealt with didn't seem to be concerned about it. Timeline we walk in around 11:45 Sun morning and there are 5 tables there and at least as many employees. By 11:50 we had chips and salsa but 12:00 rolls around and no drinks, not water, nothing. Mostly done with chips older man comes by around 12:05 and says "ready". Uh yeah we'd like some water and iced tea. Ok what would you like to eat, we'll have two specials (pozole). For those that don't know it's a soup not something cooked to order. Anyway minutes pass and he walks by as see us with no drinks and the light bulb goes off that he forgot to bring them so he asks someone else to do it. By this time chips are gone mouth is like glue and sand. Holy smokes it's just water and tea bring it on! Keep in mind the 5 tables I mentioned earlier, just a few more people wandered in but no mare than left while we were there. 12:25 waiting, looking at each other asking what could take so long to spoon soup into a bowl. About 12:45 we get our pozole and it's damn good but sheesh these people are like zombies. Seeing we are not alone in our annoyance for slow service, people are getting up with check in hand and credit cards trying to wave down servers to pay and leave because they had been waiting, I ask for check and hand the card at the same time. He returns $26.00, a good deal for good soup but dang I didn't have an hour to sit around waiting for two bowls of soup likely made the at least the night before or earlier. I blame it on Pho Bay. We drove down for that and for whatever lame reason they are closed Sunday.

My friend and I went here on a Thursday night for dinner around 7:30. We got seated right away and the waitress came to ask what we would like to drink. We got our water and chips/salsa within moments. 15 minutes later we were still waiting for the waitress to come back to take our order. She stopped by the table to ask if we were ready and we said yes. She said she would be right back. 10 minutes later she is literally at the table next to us cleaning it off. She completely ignored us! She passed us no less than 3 more times making no eye contact at all! We then see her on the other side of the restaurant bussing other tables! We waited and waited and she still never came to take the order. (I'm talking another 15 minutes!) We stood up to leave and walked out of the door with NO response from her! This was the rudest interaction we've ever had. Warning: Don't go here if you want to order dinner!

I love this place. The service is a little slow but the food is amazing. The only thing I wish they did is advertise their happy hour a little better. They do have one and their margaritas are homemade and delicious. Tamales are awesome and green chili had the right amount of spice. I will be back very soon.

We all had a great experience, my group and myself. All of our food was delicious, the building was clean, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good, a wee bit slow but good, and the green chile was a wee bit spicy, but also good. We'll be going back for sure!

Service was slow, granted it was during lunch hour. We sat there for over 30 minutes before we got our food. Got the shredded beef Enchilada with both green and red sauce. Ground beef enchilada was bland without the sauce and had no flavor. Meals are reasonably priced.

Very disappointing food & service. Save your money & try one of the other Mexican restaurants in Westminster! Do not expect to have coupons honored as issued. We are happy to never return.

Food is really good, but the service is slow slow slow. If you don't mind, or have a phone to pass the time, then go for it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
