Still has good burgers after all the years. Patio is awesome on a summer night after hiking. Add in the live music and you won't be disappointed.

Lovely waitress, mediocre to less-than-mediocre food. What does one have to do to get a decent, casual, mid-priced meal in Vail? I cannot recommend this place.

  • Kim I.

Visiting from Portland, Oregon for my best friends wedding and wanted a beer and burger and stopped in here. We're pretty spoiled back at home with delicious foods at affordable prices and cheap libations. So being in Vail is obviously overpriced for everything. That's just how the cookie crumbles. The service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and our waitress was very attentive and sweet. I wish I could give a higher rating but the food is just average. For the price I was hoping for a little better quality. Of course it's cheaper/dive for Vail but that doesn't say much since Vail is just a pocket drainer. Nice outdoor seating, and again everyone we encountered on staff was friendly. The rating is for the food.

Love the patio! It's a really neat setting to sit and eat in. That is why it gets the three stars it does. The service was awful. Which sucks because growing up going to Vail frequently, this seems like a new issue. Over priced, but everything in Vail is over priced. Just enjoy the view & pay no attention to the service...

What a fun après place! We were in Vail for yet another ski weekend a few days ago, and it also happened to be "Pink Vail," a fundraiser for breast cancer research, so the village was packed and Bart & Yeti's was no exception. We were actually able to get a table inside right away despite the patio swarming with people since it was a beautiful spring-y day. I can't comment as to the quality of the food, but our beers were cold and our server was solid - despite being visibly stressed at how busy they were. I really like the ambiance in here, and love dogs so it's a "go again" for me the next time we're looking for a few post-slopes beverages in Lionshead.

  • Vincen C.

Beyond overrated. Maybe after a day of skiing anything tastes good but this place is not 4 Stars and barely 3 stars. The food is ok but not like what the reviews say and I would not come here again and was really disappointed. Do not come here.

    (1)
  • Greg W.

Overpriced, subpar bar food. The burgers are soggy and taste very basic. The fries were not hot and tasteless. The nachos were dry and didnt include any sour cream or guacamole. We had to wait a while to get seated and the service was a bit shotty. I guess you can't expect much more from restaurants in Vail Village with limited competition.

    (2)
  • Lowell R.

Very rarely write reviews but this place has to be one of THE most overrated. Biggest issue is that it's drastically overpriced. I'm not opposed to a $13 burger, but it was not much more than a fast food burger...for $13. Same with the salad. Again, ridiculously overpriced. Yep...i'm a sucker. Don't make the same mistake. Skip this place and go elsewhere.

  • Elizabeth L.

Walked in after seeing a patio full of customers- the place seemed good. However, as a frequent Vail visitor, I can say that this was the worst meal I've had in Vail. I paid $12 for an off tasting turkey sandwich and fries. My drink had too much syrup. Will not be going here again and I don't recommend anyone else to.

    (2)
  • Meagan M.

If everything costs about 30% less, this place would be better. The ambience is good. Good (but loud) live music. But considering the type and quality of food you get, it's overpriced, even for Vail. Took a very long time to get beers but after that it got better. They do weird things like charge an 18% tip if you want want to split a bill. Just not very customer friendly overall. They act as if they don't need to be. Which maybe they don't. I'm just not impressed.

  • Stacey T.

I sat on the patio and was greeted promptly. The cheeseburger and fries were outstanding and came out fresh, hot and quick. The waitress was very accommodating, as I'd just had a hip surgery a few days prior. Very friendly, casual and inviting atmosphere with reasonable prices.

Love this for après ski!! At the moment having one last beer before we leave Vail tomorrow

We needed a place to unwind after our drive to Vail got us there before our hotel room was ready, so we stopped at Bart & Yeti's, which was close and casual. Sitting outside let us enjoy the beautiful weather, and it was a great spot for relaxing and people-watching. I got the buffalo chicken wrap, which was on special. The waiter told me when I ordered that it was cold, which I actually really appreciated because it meant it wouldn't be a surprise. My companion got the dino chicken sandwich, which got rave reviews. The service was good, and their menu seems nice and extensive. It was very casual, and perfect for what it is.

  • Becky C.

We've been coming here for years every time we're in Vail. Love this place! The patio is a great spot for lunch, and the food is good, though I highly recommend the portebello mushroom sandwich as well as the green chili.

    (5)
  • Mark O.

We ordered the bacon cheese burger and split it. Had 2 large cold beers too. Cup of green chili was VERY GOOD.

This review is solely for the normy wings. Spent a last minute weekend away in Vail and was looking for a casual place for some quick food. Some regulars recommended the normy wings. I gave them a shot. They were a little spicier than I am used to, but the flavor was on point. I can't even describe it. I will sacrifice my low spice tolerance for that delicious flavor. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely get wings there. And I recommend you do too!

This place is awesome!!!! Great food and even better service. I have Celiac's and it was such a surprise to walk into a bar and have the staff be super knowledgeable about gluten free. This place feels like a modern day cheers, the bartender greets everyone by name and if he doesn't know yours then he will in a matter of seconds. This place was great for a gluten free.

  • Megan G.

This place is ok. The food was as expected but the waitress seemed annoyed to serve us and the restaurant makes a big deal out of splitting checks.

Bart and Yeti's is by far our favorite bar in all of Vail. We spent a month in Vail this summer with our two Labrador retrievers. Bart and Yeti's was our regular haunt. A perfect spot to stop in the afternoon for a cold beer and good company. A locals spot for sure but we always felt welcome. As did our dog.

  • Jeff S.

We stopped in for lunch after a morning of skiing, and the experience was just what we wanted. The decor is classical western style, and the attitude is appropriately laid back. They have a limited draft beer selection and lots of traditional comfort food, ranging from burgers to chili and back again. My brother gambled on the black bean burger, and was quite pleasantly surprised. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and, while it was nothing special, it was exactly the way I like it: lightly breaded and soaked in Frank's wing sauce. Definitely worth checking out when the restaurants closer to the slopes are filled-up, as they often are on the weekends. Good food, good service, and smiling faces!

  • Keith E.

Always come here when we r in Vail. Small place but great atmosphere. Nice for burger and beers. Great fries. MGD cans at $4. Best beer price in town.

    (5)
  • Brad C.

I think the food was average. The nachos had no meat and once you got pat the first layer of cheese contained no substance. Service was good, and my burger was decent, but nothing really lived up to the reputation in my mind.

  • S B.

This is about apres ski. Beer, wine, pub food and live music in the afternoon sun. What more are you looking for?

    (3)
  • Cheyne M.

Pretty good sandwiches and salads, although their menu was a bit limited on the day we visited... nice location in the heart of Lions Head... good place for drinks in the sun on their patio...

    (3)
  • Andrew M.

I feel bad giving a 2 Star rating. But 3 means "A-OK" and this wasnt A-OK. The food was not awful, but not good. Boring, small french fries. Small draft list. Server did not bring out cutlery or napkins at any point. Maybe patrons do that at this restaurant? I did not go into this place expecting or wanting an AMAZING experience as it was advertised as a dive. But in my opinion this restaurant would bomb in a city with any competition where being near the gondola wasn't the only criteria necessary for success.

    (2)
  • A G.

Good food at a good price. Was extremely fast on lunch time and didn't have to wait long.

First off, hopefully you will read this review if you're not from in town... We wandered into this restaurant/bar after having read some good reviews. Upon walking in it seemed like an exciting environment. It's pretty small, cozy warm, etc. But there were like 6 drunk business men shouting at each other at the entrance...made it really hard to figure out whether it was a seat yourself situation or wait to be seated. After standing around confused for about 5 minutes we just asked the bartender and he said we could just sit where we like. After that, the service improved greatly! Our food came out very quick and it was great. I had their chicken gorgonzola sandwich and it was awesome. Boyfriend had the ribs (not on menu) and he fell in love. We both got drinks which were pretty pricey, normal for Vail, but our waitress was VERY helpful. This is a great spot for a group of friends.

  • Teale E.

If you want a waitress with an vail attitude come here. Their $10 Irish coffee was not great and their green chili was TERRIBLE.

What's better than a laid-back, dog-friendly Boston bar in Vail, CO? Oh yeah. NOTHING. Get the NORMY WINGS! You won't be disappointed. Unless you choose to share them like a friggen jabroni.

  • Gina B.

In Vail, there are few options for cheap eats. A salad will set you back $13 every time and there may or may not be meat on it. Our hotel shuttle driver suggested Bart and Yeti's as a local watering hole that also served a good meal. He also said their food is fresh and not straight from the freezer like most of the other shops. So, we ventured in. It's not much to look at from the inside. Typical lodge dumpy style, but homey. I ordered a green salad with grilled chicken and craisins. The chicken was a bit sparsely added and dry, but the salad was flavorful enough overall. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, but it's fine for a decent lunch.

  • Ray C.

This place never disappoints. After a long afternoon of St. Paddy's Day drinking, we finished off here with a burger and a beer. One of the tastiest burgers ever, and the waitress was super nice. Definitely one of our must-go-to spots anytime we come to Vail.

    (5)
  • Ted R.

Love the Boston vibe and bartender (though he's been n Vail for 30 years now!). Great spot for drinkin' and talkin'. I prefer the bar, but there's also table service inside and out. Don't miss all the Bean Town bumper stickers plastered behind the bar. Funny shxt!

Nice casual place for a laid back lunch. Nice views. They charge for soda refills. ;-(.

    (4)
  • Nick M.

Only my second time here but it's got a great feel! A middle aged group is probably the reason why it's got a mellow vibe. A huge bonus is that it's dog friendly in the entrance/ bar area which really makes it a genuine Colorado mountain bar!

    (5)
  • DJ C.

Always a favorite after hitting the slopes! Staff makes a great moscow mule, and they are super friendly!

  • Ting W.

Affordable bar food at an expensive location. French dip-looks great, not too greasy, came with chips Salad with cranberries, dates-was actually really good and fulfilling Side of fries-not really a side, but a plate Side of Onion Rings-came with 10 gigantic rings. *quick service. would love to come back.

Great place to hang out with some food and beer after a day of snowboarding/skiing. I highly recommend getting the hot drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my Irish Coffee, one of the best I've had (though to be truthful, most of the other one's I've had were made by my friends). My friends enjoyed their Hot Toddy and Hot Cider as well. I got the chicken sandwich which was good as well. We also made a friend. The dog's name is Pebbles.

Stopped by Bart and Yeti's for lunch on my way through. It's in the Lionsgate village center, so you have to park and walk to find it. Park in the Lionsgate lot - its free for two hours but then jumps up to like $15 after, so just keep an eye on the time, 1 star - ambience - this is exactly as advertised, a rustic feeling "dive" bar (though I agree that Vail's definition of dive bar is a little more upscale than what I was used to). Loved that there were two dogs that just roamed around and owned the place. Very relaxed feel. 2nd star - service - we came on a really busy day, and some folks that came after us had to wait, but we were greeted and sat promptly. The server was with us in just a few minutes and our drinks came right away. Because they were busy, none of the staff chit chatted or anything, but I'm fine with that. They did a good job taking care of us, 3rd star - food and drink - small draft beer list, but some good options like New Belgium and Sam Adams. The menu is basic pub fare. We ordered and split them buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were only kind of lukewarm and the sandwich was basic. Would only give .5 stars in this, 4th star - value - Vail is expensive. Probably a little overpriced for what you get, but that's just the way it goes. Another .5 star 5th star - overall - I enjoyed this spot and would come back. Recommended.

The food was very affordable for vail village area. Although it seemed like people were more interested in the bar here, the food was pretty good. Wait staff was friendly and food came out quickly, which seems to be uncommon in the area.

    (4)
  • Alex M.

Food is delicious, I got the chili and others got the "best burger" around. Bartenders and waitresses are super friendly. The patio is a good size and very dog friendly...the dogs got a bowl of water before we did. Great atmosphere inside and out, definitely a must try if you're in the area.

    (5)
  • Sarah G.

Only had a couple drinks here for apres. That alone would probably have garnished three stars, but there was a dog sitting at the bar drinking a beer (at least he had one in front of him). That alone is worth an extra star... even though the service was a little slow. Originally I sat down at an open table, but then noticed other people 'being seated'. That could have slowed down the service a bit, but I didn't see a host[ess] per se when I walked in as the bar was super crowded at the time. Also funny how this qualifies as a 'dive bar' for Vail. Oh Vail, you're hilarious.

    (4)
  • Marc A.

Some of the best wings I've had. Get them with the rub. Also the giant pretzels are good. Nice people and place to go after skiing.

    (4)
  • Chet M.

Excellent alternative to Garfinkles, for a casual apres ski scene at Vail, and a Boston Bar, too. Irish stew was rich and reasonably priced. Irish nachos is code for poutine, one of my favorite foods ever. Others in my group enjoyed their dishes, too.

    (5)
  • Sarah K.

Went here for lunch on a summer day; ordered the chicken strips basket and my boyfriend ordered the BLT. Both were good and hit the spot. Service was perfectly attentive and polite, and the bill was about $20 for the two if us. In vail, can't go wrong with a price like that.

    (4)
  • Paul K.

Definitely a cool little spot for a beer and/or some laid back chow. Fat Tire on tap- Yay! Wings were very good.

    (4)
  • Clay C.

Service is awful. Waitresses are idiots. We waited 30+ minutes just to get the check. It's not even crowded. However, food is decent. The burgers are meh but have too much grease. I don't recommend unless it's extremely un-crowded. The burgers did come relatively quick though.

    (1)
  • Kara Z.

We enjoyed our lunch on the patio area of Bart & Yeti's. Our server was great and friendly. The soft pretzels were tasty and served with a unique and sweet honey mustard sauce. My husband thought his corn chowder was delicious! I had the chicken fingers which were very good, and I appreciated that they had thin fries with both salt and pepper on them, and also celery and carrots with ranch! That is a great idea. We enjoyed the food, service and opportunity to people watch.

    (4)
  • Chong I.

Had the wings-dry rubbed. Could have been crispier, but not bad. Pretzel and fries. Pretty good for bar food. Food, I suspect the chicken wings, contains MSG. DISAPPOINTING! Restaurants should always warn of the use in their menus.

    (2)
  • S H.

Standard American fare that fit the bill. My grilled turkey sandwich was exceptionally tasty. Everyone in my party was happy with their choices. My husband had the Dino sandwich with guacamole which was also tasty. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating made for the perfect atmosphere on a summer afternoon in the mountains.

    (5)
  • Jessica I.

Had an afternoon snack here, wings, fries, and a pretzel. The spicy wings were good, we ordered them crispy and had we not they might have been mushy. The used a nice dry rub. The fries were good, reminiscent of McDonalds, thin and crispy. The pretzel was a let down, obviously frozen, out of a box. Our sever, Amanda, was great. She was friendly, fast, and attentive. We sat on the patio, the inside was a little divey.

    (3)
  • Russell M.

We ate here for lunch during our first day of skiing at Vail. It was a great choice. We all really enjoyed it. Very casual bar atmosphere. The service was also very good. We had the pretzel appetizer which was very salty but good. We also each enjoyed our main courses. We had the buffalo chicken sandwich, salad+chili, Caesar salad, and the wrap special (some of kind of tuna wrap). Each was very good. If I'm in the Lionshead Village around lunch time again, I would definitely consider coming back here. I think it was also be good for a casual dinner. Definitely a good burger/sandwich place I think. Check it out!

    (5)
  • P C.

Food was unexceptional, burger or sandwich with chips or stale fries and a couple pieces of pickle. Not that cheap either (~$11-14 for any burger/sandwich.) Definitely for lunch only. Server was a little grumpy when asked to split our bills and automatically added a 18% gratuity on the bills. We all gave extra tips so try not to be so grouchy please. It marred the experience.

    (2)
  • David D.

Cool ambiance and great for espresso dining après ski or early morning. Nice music.

    (4)
  • Matt W.

Very cool place! Makes me think of what a mountain tavern used to be in the 70's. And so friendly to dogs! If you have a pooch that likes to say hi, bring him/her and have a brew! Our server Stephen helped us get home to Cascade, dodging the rain! He and his dog chance have been in Vail for 7 years. He's super chill, ask him about Chance and he'll show you some super cute photos!

    (5)
  • Amy M.

Onion rings yum! For a chill bar food atmosphere in Vail Bart and Yeti's is a must stop after getting off the mountain. Basic bar fare and reasonable price for the area. Plus it's great to sit on their patio and watch people race down the mountain.

    (3)
  • Bob J.

On vacation in Vail? Place rocks!! Laid back and friendly, cold beer, great food what else could you ask for! Been coming here for years and am happy it's still there!

    (5)
  • Cleo X.

Not recommended. Waiting nearly an hour for a grilled cheese sandwich is not okay. The service was sad and inconsistent. At least three different wait staff attended (and I use that term loosely) the table, and at one point a girl who appeared to be about 14 years old.. whom I imagined to be somebody's daughter, holding down the fort while the remainder of the eastern european coalition employed there were "smoking" in the back. The food was basic and average at best .. simple and predictable pub menus can be nice for a Saturday afternoon, but the abnormal wait time in this situation did not make sense for such low quality plates. The one redeeming quality to this "joint" was the patio. Patios are always ideal for sunny afternoons in Vail. When the food and service falls below par, people-watching while catching some rays may lift the spirits. Disappointingly, Bart & Yeti's did not have their act together, even for a dive diner.

    (1)
  • Rob T.

I can't speak to the food here, but of all the places I've been in Vail, 'the Yeti' as we call it, is my favorite. If you just want to sit down, have a cold beer and enjoy a good conversation with some laid back people. This is the place. It's almost like it's misplaced, like it's not in Vail. I've steered a few out of towners here and they always rave about it, and the dog friendly atmosphere even makes it better. If you're in Vail and want a Jameson and a beer in an un-vail-like atmosphere. This is your place!

    (4)
  • Jamie L.

Tucked in Arrabelle in Lionshead is this little bar and eats joint. We had good fish and chips and sandwiches, and of course a few beers. Prices are Vail-Reasonable, and the patio makes for a nice atmosphere and good people watching spot, especially après-ski. Service is fine, better if you're a local/regular.

    (3)
  • Dan G.

Dive bar with cool rustic interior, friendly service with the bartender who seemed like a control freak but he was friendly too. Food was typical pub fare but was good. Atmosphere, people., food and total chill ambience got the 4 stars not the food. Definitely better than the fake friendliness in the other overpriced places in vail. Wish we had apres skied here as the local feel is better than those other slope side places.

    (4)
  • Daniel B.

Really disappointed that I wasn't able to pay more for my rubber chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing that came from Jamba Juice. Left and found the chophouse around the corner with great food, but it was too reasonably priced for my taste. Next pay check that I get, I can't wait to blow it on the buffalo chicken wrap which would have been more appropriately named "day old turkey taco".

    (1)
  • F M.

Great hangout after a long day on the slopes. Good food and good people.

    (5)
  • R L.

It's a no frills kind of place, but had good, friendly service right in central Lionshead. Food was good and reasonably priced.

    (5)
  • Jen M.

Cool bar even in the summer offseason. Nice outdoor patio. Definitely a locals hangout.

    (4)
  • Patrick W.

Bart and Yeti's is a great little bar and grill located in Lionshead village, which is a nice reprieve from the typically gaudy Vail atmosphere. They have reasonably priced food and beer, and great service, however the burgers and fries were not outstanding in any way. If you are looking for a few cold beers and juicy burgers in a relaxed atmosphere, Bart and Yeti's is your place.

    (3)
  • Sarah F.

A solid four stars for a place that has a lot of heart. Bart and Yeti's is a little bar and grill that many locals and tourists enjoy alike. Bart and Yeti themselves are two famous dogs once owned many years ago by the restaurant's owners. What can I say-- it is a dog friendly place. If you've got a mellow pooch who loves to be by your side, you can bring her here for a great afternoon of beer and burgers. Nice patio in the front for people watching. Super friendly, laid back atmosphere. They have a homemade black bean veggie burger, that comes with really tasty fries. If you're not a vegetarian, your choices will be much greater. Another place I've been coming to in the Vail valley since I was a kid. I'll always make a pilgrimage to Bart and Yeti's and read the story on the back of the menu about the two famous dogs.

    (4)
  • Emily H.

A great place that makes you feel at home. I have been in there and wasn't able to sit at the bar because seats were occupied by dogs...I LOVE IT! Bart and Yetis is by far my favorite place to visit when I'm in town. The food always hits the spot. It's perfectly situated right around the corner from the Ski Bike shop where we go to visit with family so it makes for a great rendezvous spot.

Beautiful setting, and fantastic food! The food prices were surprisingly good as well. Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff - highly recommended!

    (4)
  • Louise M.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Nice, woodsy atmosphere with maps and photos of the area. Service was good. Menu limited but spot -on for what we wanted. The bar patrons looked more Rocky Mountain than Vail. Sorry there weren't any big dogs there!

    (4)
  • Stephen S.

This place is great if you are looking for somewhere to avoid tourists and hang out after a day on the hill. Their buffalo chicken sandwhich is solid. The best part for me was that my dog could sit at the bar next to me.

    (4)
  • Bill F.

This is burgers, ribs, wings, BBQ, laid back, good price, solid beer, great staff, and brings a smile to the soul. The story of the two dogs is cute and many dogs have visited the place from Gerald Ford to Clint Eastwood's canine companions; this little eatery hits the mark for the category. Great log cabin like interior and some nice moose antlers to keep the likes of Yukon Corneilus happy. Plenty of those wet towellettes available so you can get into the food and not mess up your gloves or the apres ski experience. As Odd Ball might put it, Woof, Woof - Enjoy (great for kids of all ages).

    (5)
  • Laura W.

We grabbed a quick bite and a beer one day. The BF and I split a BLT with some fries. It was good and just hit the spot as well as the beer. It is located in Lionshead and not far from the gondola. A great place to sit outside in the summer and just relax....which is what we did after hiking! A great story behind the name of the bar...but you will have to go in order to find out!!

    (3)
  • Anne C.

If you like dogs, go here. The restaurant is named for two of the owner's former dogs and there's always a dog on the premises. The chubby, exuberant Golden Retriever who was there yesterday was enamored with the treats dispensed by the bartender who encouraged him to bark... "Use your words!!" The food ain't half bad either. I had the summer salad - I'm always pleased when a bar-centric establishment realizes that iceberg is NOT an acceptable salad lettuce. Candied walnuts, cranberries, perfectly grilled chicken. Yes, please.

A Vail icon...great folks serve you, yummy food, the BEST deck and you can count on running into local legend Packy ....

I have been to every bar in Vail. And this is my Favorite. You will always get into some deep mysterious conversation about the history of Bart and Yeti's. With the Bartender or the guys sitting at the bar. I use to go in here after work every night the Season that I lived in Vail....and I miss it. I cant wait to go back and say hello to all my old friends!!!!........(when it snows).

  • Don Q.

The most chill, down to Earth bar/restaurant in Vail. Just watch your step when you leave. On our way home from here one night, my companions and I almost stepped on a bear. Oh, the comedy.

    (5)
  • Beka S.

It's pretty much a typical dive bar. The staff was friendly enough, but the food was not so good and the drink selection was subpar unless you only want standard cheap beers. Our group (10 people) had mixed reviews about the food. For example - I order a spinach salad. It ended up being a bunch of iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of wilted spinach on top "hiding" the regular lettuce. But the person next to me got a burger that she said was awesome.

    (2)
  • Sandi P.

Burger was great, live music on the patio after a long day of skiing was even better!

Burgers
