3 Margarita's eat your heart out! This place is affordable, fast, friendly and some damn good Mexican food. Give the Alambre a shot it is divine! Skip three margs, Tequila's all the way baby!

I've eaten here four times since last spring and each experience has diminished. The only time we've received timely service was when we sat in the bar area during a dinner rush. Our food was at the right temperature and you can't really go wrong with opening a bottle of beer. The other two times we sat at a booth after a 20 minute wait. The place is usually full with families on Friday and Saturday for dinner. What i've noticed consistently is that the servers avoid you and even do not make eye contact while you wait and wait for your meal to arrive. I've seen other diners return their plates after a lengthy wait. Our most recent visit I decided to try a dish for the first time, Steak Milanesa. It arrive some what after we had gone through a basket and a half of tortilla chips. The entree is served on an enormous plate with fries and a salad of shredded lettuce, chopped onions, cheese and covered in large croutons and mushrooms. The steak lacked any spice or flavor that I requested some sauce. For a beverage I had a sangria which arrived looking gorgeous but taste did not match. Too much ice with something syrupy at the bottom with little alcohol. I gave a fair chance but this place lacks in quality of food and service.

Probably one of the worst Mexican places I've been. Not only was the food awful, the service matched. We will NOT be coming back here anytime soon. There were 6 of us for dinner on a Sunday night, around 7:00. We asked for a table on the patio and they told us just give them a second to clear it off. 15 minutes later, we had to ask if that table was ready. They said again, "oh yes just finishing clearing it off" and then called us to be seated shortly after. When we sat down we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to even come over and ask if we'd like drinks. Most of us ordered water, one person got a margarita, and one person a beer. She came back with the drinks fairly quickly and we ordered food. 4 of us ordered fajitas, 2 of them being beef and the other two people ordered a burrito and enchiladas. After about 20 minutes our food came out..but everyone that ordered fajitas only got the meat part. She then said she'd be right back with beans and rice. Took a few minutes and came back with that part and then told us they were just heating up some tortillas for us. Uhhh shouldn't those be ready when you bring the food out?? 5 minutes later, after our fajitas got cold she finally brought our tortillas out. Of course then we didn't have plates or anything so we had to just start making things in our hands at that point because we weren't going to wait any longer. The cheese was so dried out it was absolutely awful, the meat overcooked and chewy, and she made a huge deal about bringing us extra tortillas and we didn't even have enough to make 2 each. The people in our group who got the burrito and enchiladas didn't complain, but just didn't have anything good to say. She dropped off our check and got annoyed when we had a coupon for 1/2 off one entree and then dropped the check back off and never returned. Since we'd never been here before we didn't know if we should pay up front or what so we finally just decided to do that. Needless to say- we won't be back and we don't recommend this place to anyone! Three Margaritas is comparable in price with MUCH better food!

Made a reservation for 7 PM, decided to leave after waiting 30 minutes. They didn't honor the reservation in a timely manner. Very disappointed with the way they handled my reservation. I don't ever write bad reviews.

Love this place. It all started at their Arvada location. And now they opened one closer to my house!!!! definitely a place to go for some great Mexican food and some killer house margaritas!

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff with excellent service. The food is decent with HUGE helpings. (My husband and I always share one dish). The Horchata is AMAZING! Along with the complimentary cabbage and chips! The salsa is great too if you like spicy buts it's a little to spicy for me.

I normally don't dislike this place .... I usually go to the one in Aurora .. Which is 10 times better than this one. Service was slow and food was uncooked... Waitress paid more attention to the loudmouth booth in front of us with foul language.! Just so disappointed because this is close to my house and I didn't have to drive all the way to Aurora.

We went here on our first night in the Denver area, based on the Yelp reviews alone. It was a Tuesday, so the place was pretty empty, and we were seated right away. I ordered the chicken enchiladas verde; my fiancé ordered the chicken enchiladas mole. I also ordered a top shelf margarita. The margarita was so strong--it was just tequila and Gran Marnier, no mixer. It was really good once I squeezed a couple of lime wedges in! The enchiladas themselves were great: the meat was tender and slow cooked, the sauce was great. The refried beans were really watery, though. Service was really fast; we were in and out in 30 minutes! The one major downer was that my fiancé 's AmEx card "went missing" there--it didn't come back with the check, which we didn't realize till we reached the hotel. We tried calling, but they were already closed, so we headed over as soon as they opened the next day and...nope. No credit card. We, of course, had already closed the account when we found it missing, so we know that's the last place we used it, and we went right back to the hotel, so yeah. That part sucked.

OK, so two 5 star reviews in a row? I know, but the fajitas at this place were awesome. The humongous margarita may have influenced my review, but I don't think so. The Colorado fajitas were the bomb! A whole Tilapia filet and 10 jumbo shrimp. And I do mean 3 bite jumbo shrimp. The veggies with the fajitas were well prepared, a nice mixture of sautéed peppers, onions and mushrooms. Service was quick and courteous, and did I mention the margarita was excellent? Service was quick and friendly, restaurant was clean and inviting. Overall a good experience. Did I mention that the jumbo margarita was outstanding?

I checked out this Tequilas location recently, as it had been a vacant building for quite some time. I'd never visited the other locations before, so can't really compare, but it was a good experience overall. No excessive wait times, and the jumbo house margaritas packed a good punch, especially with the BOGO coupon I had. Some type of slaw-like salad was served along with the chips and salsa, but it was a bit too heavy on the onion. I went with a chicken burrito, which was great. I was really appreciative that pinto beans were available in place of refried beans. The menu appeared gigantic - lots of choices. The only slightly annoying downfall was that the waiter made use of the word "amigo" in every third word he uttered. Like, amigo, in a really annoying, amigo, kind of way, ya know, amigo? I'd definitely go back. If anything, it's the closest Mexican restaurant to my house.

Very extensive and diverse menu. Nice atmosphere, and a patio which always adds extra points for me. Guacamole is watery, Pico de Gallo is not chopped small enough to be able to get it onto a chip. I had fish tacos and they tasted great! Only problem was that there was so much butter on the plare, the tortillas were soaked and wouldn't hold together. My husband had the crispy chili relleno and pronounced it excellent. He said the enchiladas suiza were just okay. The service was very good, lots of people checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We would probably come again, but wouldn't get guacamole or pico.

Had the Combo Special, Chalupa, Relleno & Taco. The plate had Beans n Rice on the side. Wouldn't be back to this place. The rice was slightly dry and not fluffy as fresh Spanish rice usually is. The beans really lacked any flavoring, almost bland. The picures of the food was done beautiful n helpful. The waitstaff was courteous. Besides lunch, dinner prices are a little pricey. If Tequila is your drink, this is your place with over a 100 different types...

Mexican cuisine is my favorite! This place is delicious!!! The cabbage salsa is yummy ! I had the carne asada plate & it was awesome!

The food, service, atmosphere, & drinks were great!! We tried this place while we were here for RushFest (soccer camp) with our kids. The service was on point and our table never went without a full glass or full chips and salsa. The food was very good. Being from So Cali we wanted some good Mexican food and found it here. The margaritas were the best according to my wife (Cabo Wabo Margarita). I plan to eat here again before our week is over and we head back to Cali. This place should get 5 stars on every review.

I went here Saturday night and had carnitas and strawberry margarita. It was really good but our table was too small for the food.I sat outside and when I knocked over the salsa trying to make room it spilled all over my new white tennis shoes. Also got busted trying to sneak my remaining margarita out in a too go cup.(had to try ).The service was good for how busy they were.I found a coupon for buy one get one free margarita or half off 2nd entree in a parking lot on the back of a king soopers receipt at 64th and ward which prompted us to go.I love coupons.

Lol! I don't complain ever but this was horrible not only the food but service. Wow just wow lol I have to laugh at how horrible it was! I could write all day about how horrible it was. My budlight was honestly the best thing I had and my food was still disgusting. The girlfriend cut open her chimichanga and a whole bottle of grease poured out.......... Eat here if you dare

Great authentic mexican. The cabbage salsa is always good and the house margarita is made with lime juice not sweet and sour which is soo much better. The Alambre is our favorite and one order is enough for 2 people.

  • Zack T.

My favorite restaurant, if you're not ordering the Carne Asada you're doing it wrong. The homemade salsa is very good while you wait (for the Carne Asada).

3 stars ordered drinks by one then another person and was carded twice, just for some water and margs and waited way to long just to find out they were never put in. had an appetizer dropped at our table that we didn't order, food was ok, no spice or real stand out flavor in the green chile, rice tastes out of a box, beans are great, not kid friendly was never given a separate child menu, kids menu is on back of the big menu. Was not offered a high chair/ sling with our car seat, Asked hostess for the manager that never came. Got our bill that had that appetizer on it we didn't order asked again for a manager who came and didn't discount or make us feel satisfied, I would say it's not any better then 3 margaritas and will probably not return. UPDATE 4/21 Attempted to try again as we had a coupon. The margs were heavy handed and not consistent! (not complaining) but I couldn't eat my food. I had a steak fajitas burrito- SALT SALT SALT my burrito tasted like it was made in the Pacific Ocean. Salt is all I tasted. Dropped from 3 star to 1 and will not return.

The food was fabulous. The service was great. The quantity of food is overwhelming. Not the tex mex we are used to in Dallas. Thoroughly enjoyable.

If you want a good selection of Tequila, then this is your place. If you want good Mexican food, then I would go somewhere else. The food was horrible. Didn't have any flavor at all. For a chain restaurant you would think the food would be better. Won't go again.

Being Hispanic you would think that I would enjoy Mexican food, but I'm never been able to. I went to this place on a recommendation of a stranger we met once and perhaps will be the last time I do that. Upon entering the restaurant nice wood work on all the seats and a massive collection of tequilas in the back. The menu is a novel with page after page of options and even and entire page dedicated to all the tequila and margarita options. We started we the chorizo com queso dip which had good flavor. We then had a combination meal with chicken chimichanga, beef burrito, and pork tamale. It all came with a side of rice and beans. The service was good, but unfortunately I can say this place reminds me of big chain Mexican restaurant called 3 Margaritas.

This was my first visit. I was impressed by the decor. We were greeted and seated within seconds. The chips and cabbage salsa are very delicious. The service was slow at first, but we showed up on a Wednesday during the lunch rush so we understood, no point in whining about it on Yelp. The food was good. Nothing really made it stand out from other Mexican restaurants. The service was great. We had two waitresses that checked on us every 5 minutes. I'm only giving three stars because the food was obviously from the same distributor other Mexican restaurants order their food. The food concept is authentic but the food is not cooked at the restaurant. It's precooked. All they do is heat it up....

This place is a hidden gem. Located right behind Public Service Credit Union, it's hard to see from 120th. But I'm glad I did see it! We had wonderful service and the food was very, very good. Our server was very attentive and also offered suggestions for our meal. He also took the time to offer things to taste before making a final decision. Other servers on hand helped with clearing our table and refilling our drinks. We never had empty glasses. The food came out pretty quickly and the portions were very big. Too big for me to finish. Another plus was all the Tv's they had available around the restaurant as there was a Bronco game on the night we went. All in all I'd say it was a great experience. Great food and great service too. We will be back again!

Thought I try this restaurant that opened recently. Went in for lunch on a weekday. We were seated right away and given menus. We were promptly asked about our drink order. Shortly after that a nice gentleman asked about our food. The chips and salsa were very good. I had the carne asada and my wife had mole enchiladas. Overall, the food was above average. The only thing I would want an improvement on was the tortillas appeared to be warmed up in a microwave, they were too moist and I would have rather them warmed on a skillet of some type. The carne asada steak was too thin and we could have had our waiter check on our drinks a bit more. Overall the staff was nice and courteous. I wanted to give 3 1/2 stars. So when contemplating 3 or 4, I picked 3.

Ummmmmm, I was really hoping to give the place a great review but I just wasn't impressed with the food and neither were the three other people I was there with. They serve a cabbage slaw/salsa along with a regular salsa which I was excited to try (I love cabbage) but neither were good. Normally when we eat chips and salsa, we get seconds and sometimes thirds but we didn't even make a dent in either. Recipes need adjusting. When the good came out, it was lacking in flavor. They offer some things that you don't normally see on the menu like octopus which I wasn't brave enough to try. I hope others like this place more than I did as they out a lot if money into this place and it's pretty big. Good luck tequilas, I wish you well. Your just not my flavor.

Had a horrible lunch experience here today! The food was very bland. Had no taste The only thing edible, with flavor, on my plate was the rice. My Sister found a bug in her food and wasn't even offered a discount. My sons chocolate milk was warm and had very little to no chocolate in it. Wrong things were brought to our table. Service was not thorough either. We also asked to speak to a manager and with no surprise, no one came to deliver some customer service to paying customers. Was a waste of money. Will NOT be dining here again. We miss Fudruckers!

Service: Lots of attention. Never had to wait long if I needed something. Very polite and attentive. Drinks: House Margarita tasted very good, big enough to get a good buzz, but still tastes good. Girlfriend got the Diablo Margarita and while I didn't like it, it still had a decent flavor, just not my thing. Food: Chicken and crispy chili relleno were very good. Chili relleno's are always hit or miss for me but this one hit the mark. Price: Price is a little higher than some places (10 to 14 for most items), but the menu has a lot of options and you can easily get a meal for under 10 (build your own combos). They also have a nice build your own combo with options for 1, 2 or 3 items. Overall very nice, will be coming back.

Verry poor service. The food is good but the waitstaff doing seem to care at all. Took 15 minutes and asking twice just to get soda...

Great SERVICE, incredible tequila selection. They are truly family oriented. The little one with us received a kiddie pack. Food was really good! Went on a busy Saturday night for dinner with a long line, but we were seated quickly! The service is outstanding - very attentive. TV's all over the place make it a great spot to watch sporting events and have a drink with friends. Incredible tequila selection - Make a great margarita! I recommend the restaurant and will be going back!

Good food for what appears to be a chain. Extensive tequila selection as the name may imply. Solid meal but nothing to write home about.

Great new restaurant in Thornton! The staff is really friendly, and they have a bunch of flavored of tequila. We stop by for lunch quite often and its good portions at a fair price.

  • Rich C.

The great presentation of the restaurant was misleading of the poor service and quality of the experience. The margaritas were bitter and unpleasant. The employees were kind but seemed disinterested in the customers and weren't very attentive. For the price of the food the quality was below par.

Wow....what a let down. Poor service and cold food. Our waitress let us know the food would be delayed due to them being very busy. 4 out of our 5 meals came to the table with the 5th showing up over 5 minutes later. One meal had a side of beans ordered and we had to prompt the waitress to bring it. She disappeared for the rest of the time until it was time for the check. Don't waste your evening out by visiting this place. Plenty of better places for a good Mexican meal.

Just moved in about a quarter mile down the road and decided to come check Tequilas out. A solid 3 star performance salvaged by the staff -- we had three people attending to us who made sure we were satisfied and wouldn't tolerate empty glasses. Our server was having a rough day but was very professional about mending any mistakes with our order. The food, however, knocks the stars down a couple pegs. If you're in the market for fresh, scratch - made food, you're in the wrong place. The flavor packets added to the guacamole's unripe avocados was a bit salty and I was disappointed to discover I would get fresher beans at Del Taco. I felt some homelike comfort to recognize most serveware from my regular trips to the dollar store and that time I let my 4 - year-old wash the dishes. On the bright side, the tequila list here is really, really impressive and the margaritas aren't half bad. All in all, I was satisfied and left a sizeable tip for my server, but I won't necessarily be seeking this place out in the future.

Second time I've ate at this particular one. Food is great but unless the wait staff gets it together, this restaurant won't stay in business. Food = 4 star Service = 1 star

Went last Sunday around 5 not to crowded got seated right away . Where were 4 of us in our party. We ordered not a complicated order either. kids chicken enchilada meal, chicken chimichanga with the carne asada meal no beans please . Another carne asada meal with a beef enchilada . And a pork burrito . Waitress repeated it to us but when we got the order we got kids cheese enchiladas a ground beef chimichanga and a chicken enchilada lots of freaking beans as you see I asked for extra NOT ! When my husband told our waitress about the mixup she smiled at him and walked away WTF ? We got tired of having the hope that anybody would fix the issue or a manager to talk to so we paid the $70 bill still left a gracious tip as we always do even in the event of bad food or service and left . We have been to the Tequilas in Lakewood and Love it there we decided to try this location as it is MUCH closer to us but looks like we will need to travel for good food and great service .

  • Arvedus S.

We've been here before with 'average' results.. so this review is a combo of the three dinners. The only thing motivating me today to review was our last visit that had the new and addtitional benefit of a strong steady sewer back-up smell. Nothing gets the old appetite going like that odor. Never ever going back.. ever, never ever.

I must say the place is really nice but they really need to step up their game and be more focus. I went there to celebrate my birthday and my nephews and the hostess that sat us didn't really consider our request. We asked for a baby chair and instead she brought us a normal chair when my baby nephew just turned one. The server took at least 10-15 minutes to greet us as other servers were just passing by without saying a word as we looked around. The only reason we stayed was because we were really hungry and that was one of the only options. We drove all the way from boulder to check out their new location and my family and I weren't really pleased. We tipped the server 20% just because I used to work in the restaurant industry for years but he didn't really deserve it. And they even forgot it was our birthday the food was just average not really impressed my mom would of made better food for how much we paid. The michelada I ordered tasted like water they didn't even try to make it right. But at the end of the day is just another restaurant that eventually became better or worst. My brother would like to go again and give it another try but we will see about that.

  • Michael C.

Food was ok and portions were very large. Our server would disappear for extensive periods of time, refills on iced tea were harder to get than pulling teeth. When it was time to leave, I expect it to take less than 15 minutes to run my card.

Food was decent drinks were good ,rice was very dry . Not a place I would say I need to go there, if in the area then maybe I will stop by .

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
