As far as burger havens go.... This place rocks! Exactly what you would expect with a fun atmosphere to boot! Double small burger was perfect!

It was a terrible hamburger mostly was bun disgusting fries were cold yuck. Shake tasted funny. Technology was out of date look like it was from the dinosaur period

I remember going to this place for so long, but have not been in quite some time. I stopped by as I was in the area for work and was sorely disappointed with what I received. The fries were nice and crisp as would be expected and I ordered the 6" single burger. Basically it was filling and bun. There was very little meat there. I would be curious if was even 4oz. Regardless, for the amount of money and the almost all carb meal, this is not a go to place anymore.

Been around for a long time. It terms of atmosphere. It closely resembles a Gunther Toodys or a diner from the 50/60's. Fairly busy over the weekends. Waited a solid 20 minutes for a small order (2 combo meals). Menu is basic, shakes are mediocre, but size of the burgers are good bang for the buck. In terms of taste, the burger patty is good as it's made fresh. The bun is good and not bad either. Lettuce is awful, seems old and isn't crispy. Flavor overall is descent but it's no Chery Cricket, Smashburger, or In & Out. Worth a visit? Maybe for the decor but you won't see me jumping up and down craving it in the near future.

NO star rating. Waited in the drive thru over 30 minutes. Would have left butt stuck in line. Waste if my time and money! Fries were cold and crunchy. Asked for ranch dressing for the poppers when we were handed our cold bag of food she said it cost for the ranch. You would think that the wait was enough to get ranch sauce for free?!?!? Overcooked, dry and cold hamburger did not have the cheese that we requested. We will never visit this location. Much better service at Westminster location!

Been here 2 times. First time I was hooked! Great burger, good location, outside seating... And they have Barq's root beer! Second time I went, they got our order wrong, and charged us some jankity amount... Still tastey though! I'm going back still... But I will make them repeat the order back to me!

If you want a freaky-deaky glimpse at everything that is wrong with Amurka, before it was wrong with Amurka, you should go here. Burgers. Fries. Shakes. Golden oldies playing over the dining room. High schoolers working the line. Not saying that's what's wrong with Amurka or anything. Just go. And see for yourself. It's a trip. To where, I'm not quite sure... Okay, I am kind of saying that's what's wrong with Amurka (the food, kay?). But I mean it from a nutrition perspective. Anemic lettuce and Yellow No. 5 pickles on a burger don't count as vegetables, as much as many people wish it did :) Admittedly, I dipped my fries in mayo. There wasn't really anything on the menu for me to eat anyway (got forced into going here for a work thing). As they say, when in Rome...

Nice diner style setting. It was built back in the day. Good food great fries great shakes.

I don't know why their rating is so low... We love this place! Our food is always fresh and prepared fast. They have even walked it out to us a few times, compared to calling out the order number. The onion rings are cooked the way they should be- the onion doesn't slide out! The fries are crispy and delicious. I love the small double patty burger without tomato and add ketchup. The party is thin and slam packed with flavor! The bun is steamed to perfection. The crew are personable and fun. They push out great food. The interior is so cute and styled for the 1950's era. LOVE the music!! I also love their root beer floats, it's layered really well. All around a fantastic burger joint.

My wife loves the poppers here but that's about all that is good. Milkshakes are good but the burgers are nothing to write about.

Nasty, Nasty, and Nasty!!!!! NO STARS FOR YOU!!!!!!! IF I COULD I haven't been here in 20 years. Didn't like it then, hate it even more now. The only reason why I went was the guy that was paying wanted too. I stood in line for 7 minutes (I was the only one in the line). When the gentleman decided to take our order, he was confused about all the buttons on the register. I had to constantly repeat my order. It stunk to high hell in there. I do understand the place is old, but come on, some up keep is really needed. The place was dirty and dingy. I'm not taking about the tables were dirty I mean the walls and over all appearance. The women's bathroom door is sticky (and I don't want to know why). The food was NASTY.... The 6" that they are so damn proud of was flavorless (I thought beef was suppose to have a flavor), the bacon I paid extra for was flavorless (how did they manage to suck the flavor out of bacon), and the fries once again no flavor..... They should be shut down. I can't imagine what the kitchen cleanliness is like after seeing and smelling this dining room. Ewe!!!!! Never again....

Bugurs are perfect. If your homeless and this is the only meal you'll eat all day. Tasteless, but filling. As long as you get double patty. Seriously. Otherwise you'll be eating bread

Service is so so. Food is also just ok. Hotdog sandwhich is the only thing i will order. The hamburgers are tasteless. Shakes are pretty good. VERY pricey.

It's fairly dirty in there so I don't usually sit and eat, just take it to go. They have good onion rings. If you get a large burger be sure to get a double or else you will be eating what tastes like bread, lettuce and pickles. The patties really are that thin.

Jim's is an all around great place to get a burger! I had the double with cheese and bacon, and a pineapple shake. They were both tasty and exactly what I had ordered. It was my first visit and was having difficulty reading the menu due to an eye injury. The lady taking orders was patient and friendly, even though there was a long line. When I went to pick up my order, they helped me get the straw in the cup. Jim's gets an A+ for atmosphere. The decor and music were just right for a classic burger joint. It was all good!

3 to 3.5 STARs at its BEST. Jim's Burger Haven, Thornton location. Since the nearest Philly Steak Cheese Establishment either moved or went under, to this Burger Joint we went. Another "Dining Spree" for our Wedding Anniversary September 25th 2011, we were here for a late lunch, early dinner. We were also running some errands at this part of neighborhood. Time was between 16:35hrs to 17:15hrs. When we arrived at the parking spot, this place seems quiet, empty, and I thought the establishment is closed etc etc. We went inside, all the way to the left wing of this establishment where you make your order. Hurbs order like 3 LARGE patties of hamburger meats, aka Large 6" Burgers while I opt just for a single pattie of Small 4" Burger coz I was not really craving for a Hamburger. We opt our hamburgers to be well done. We also ordered the onions rings and the buffalo chips which was highly recommended by the lady who took our order at the counter. We also order 2 beverages, one Large for Hubs and one small for me. Both of us, like our order. We like it when the Burgers we order were done right, and came out piping hot. Inside this establishment, while waiting for our order to be ready, another couple was dining away. YES, this establishment, reflects the 50s era, of America, old diner, with lots of memorabilia thru the walls and pictures hanging of cars etc etc. At the right side of this establishment, there is a huge TV mounted, and at that time, they are showing one of the American Football games or something. One of staffs of this establishment called our names once our order was ready. You received it at the center of this establishment. All in all an OK dining experience dining in here. The place and the bathroom was kept clean. Nothing stellar nothing fancy. I think, they have more orders from their Drive-Thru coz lots of cars, kept driving in and out while we were there and also when we left this establishment.

The motto is "a square meal on a round bun." Classic cars, 50's pop music, burgers and fries. Much like stepping into a time warp straight to 1955, Jim's Burger Haven is old school. Two sizes of burgers; 4 or 6 inch, all can be single, double or triple meat, with or without cheese. Standard soda fountain plus shakes. Fries, rings, and dyna bites. They have specialty sandwiches like an Italian sausage or a pork loin. A few hot dogs can be found on the retro menu as well. I had the double with cheese. The burger was the highlight of the meal, the fries were nothing special at all and a bit on the small size, but I've been known to complain about the opposite, so in this case, maybe it was just the outsized burger that made the fries look so puny. The burger was cooked right and served up hot off the grill. The condiment dressing was appropriate and did not get too sloppy after a few bites - so bonus points there. Jim's if worth a shot if you must have a huge burger in the car-hop tradition.

What a Tasty Burger. I prefer the Sheridan Location. But this one doesnt disappoint at all. The burger was fresh and tasty. The quantity of fries could of been a lil more. It has that Diner charm with Flat Screens. No Frills menu you can see what they have. Its a wait to get your food but Hey Its no Mc Donalds and thats a good thing. Now they have Raspberry tea as well. They have 2 flat screen tvs for your enjoyment. The line can get kinda long especially on a Sunday. And its a great place to get the kids a burger and a REAL shake to shut them up.

I live in Denver, so when I find myself up North (very rare) I always try to pop in to Jim's Burger Haven. My Dad brought me here as a kid when it was on 84th. The burgers are made the way they were in the 50's and early 60's. Before the sesame seed buns and secret sauces. They are big, they are thin, but filled with flavor. If you want the 30 second Golden Arches experience, this isn't it. They make hour burger to order. No heat lamps keeping that burger warm that was made 15 minutes ago. Are you really in that much of a hurry? The burger is piping hot nd taste super fresh. Sure the staff is young. ( it's a burger joint) it's a funky place that has a diner like feel. There is an annual car show. ( pics of these grand old muscle cars line the walls) My favorite is the classic 6 inch with my onions grilled. Add a yummy hand made shake ( chocolate, banana, and pineapple my fave) If youre looking for the hip new trend of gourmet burgers this isn't it. But then again, you won't find yourself spending $9 to -$13 for a burger either. Old school is in...this is old school. Now I take my Son and Daughter here. 3 generations and growing! Keep it up and thanks for years of wonderful memories and keeping us full.

Great burgers and onion rings, but I don't think I'll be back. The place was 3/4 full, but any available table was not cleaned off. Usually, this is not a problem for me. I would just grab some napkins and wet them and wipe off the table. Not possible here because getting napkins was a production. No napkins dispensers anywhere, so one has to find an available employee and try to get them to give you more than a couple of napkins. Inside was a bit too cool for me, so between the dirty tables and being cold, we decided to eat outside. A bit windy and everything had to be weighted down so it wouldn't blow away. Great food, but not a user friendly place to visit.

MMM MMM Good! My family and I love this place! Huge burgers made to order, great shakes, and I love the old diner feel. We have eaten here many times and its been amazing every time! The drive thru takes a while, but its only because everything is made when you order it. so shut off your car and remember its worth the wait :) Can't wait to go back!

Went here on a Monday at 6pm...the burgers were not good. The bun on my burger was hard and withered looking. You would think at 6pm (dinner time) that the food would be fresh.. but this burger had been sitting for awhile. Won't be back to this restaurant.. YUCK

It's just so sad. I remember coming here all of the time as a child, so excited to order hamburgers the size of my face and delicious shakes. And the atmosphere was always fun and cheery. Not so anymore! On a whim, I took my husband and kids here because they'd never been. What a gigantic mistake! When we walked in, the place had an overall bad vibe. It was filthy also. We were trying to find a table but every single one was filthy! We finally picked one and ended up wiping it clean ourselves with napkins. The person taking the order was not friendly and acted as though they were in some sort of drug induced stupor - not accusing, though. They also screwed up the order! The food was blah. Nothing exciting and the hamburgers were paper thin. I wish we would have gone to a McDonalds instead, it would have tasted better. I also feared for my life the entire time we were there. So did the rest of my family. And we had the dining pleasure of listening to someone verbally abuse his children while we were there, and smack one of them around a bit. He looked like someone that wouldn't hesitate to pop a cap in my ass had I said anything, but we did take down his license plate number when he left and reported the incident - since none of the employees at Jim's seemed to give a damn. Disturbing! This place is very rundown as well. I get the whole 50's theme and that's cute and all, but you've got to keep it clean and/or replace stuff when it starts falling apart. If Gunther Toody's can do it, so can you. What a huge disappointment and not at all like I remember. And because I sincerely value my life, and the lives of my family members, we will never (and I do mean never) be returning here again. Oh and to all the people that use the drive thru - I'll bet if you saw the inside of this place that you'd never eat here again!

I've eaten here many times, and when they get it right it is amazing. Unfortunately, they don't always get it right. Today I waited at the drive-thru window for twenty minutes for a burger that had extraneous and unwanted ingredients imbedded in the bun. Upon taking it in the manager-in-charge (same one in both instances) looked at me like I was insane and then grudgingly took the burger back. With an attitude like that, there is no way to trust he won't take some kind of revenge in a remade burger, so I took a refund instead. If getting the orders right and customer service are such low priorities, then I don't see any reason to go back--which is really too bad. As I said, when they get it right it's one of the tastiest burgers in town. I would easily eat there weekly (at least) as it is so close to my home. So if you get your burger with everything anyway, I'd recommend this place. If you want your order a particular way, be very aware that they just don't seem to care enough to get it right.

Jim's...well alright it's about the closest thing to In & Out that we have and when you go it's pretty great! I haven't ever had a really exceptional experience but I've never had a burger I didn't like. Now you can get crispy jalapenos and onions and you can ask them to put it right on the burger. The large is a pretty big burger so be mindful of the fact that you'd be eating a much larger burger then you get at a fast food place. They are pretty reasonably priced. It's good food. We also like the dino bites which are cheddar cheese and jalapenos that are battered and deep fried. The shakes are pretty good too!

Ok, so I've only eaten here twice. This week. lol. We are from the west coast and have been looking for a decent burger place for the 3 years we've been here. I've just about given up looking for Chili Fries, it's like Colorado has never heard of it before. WELL, search no more! When we walked in, I loved the old-school diner atmosphere, it felt like home. But wait, they offer chili fries! Red chili!! Ordered them, and they did not disappoint! Chili was great, salty and fantastic. Topped with cheese, perfection. The only think I didn't like was the charge for a cup of ranch, but at under $3 for the serving, I can't complain. Husband ordered the large double meat burger and could hardly finish it! We went at lunchtime, and the place was packed. We'll be back, and often.

What a horrific disappointment! Was so excited to stop at Jim's during a quick trip to town to visit family. I used to love coming to Jim's Burger Haven as a kid with my Dad, it was always a special treat and has always held fond memories. But after today's visit I cannot help but be extremely saddened by its current state. The place is completely filthy and horribly run down. The carpet is disgusting and was covered in food droppings and trash despite the place being empty and more than a handful of employees being behind the counter. I wanted to leave but decided that the food must still be as good as I remember...boy was I dead wrong. I could barely stomach my hamburger, it had zero flavor and the bun was freezing cold and didn't look fresh. The table we sat at was filthy and I could barely make it through the meal without wanting to leave. I will never return to Jim's ever again. SO sad.

I remember the first time I went to this location about 10 years ago, the place smelled amazing and the burgers were so good. When I walked into this place with my family last week, it looked like we walked into a dump. It smelled not at all like yummy burgers...but something putrid was in the air. I ordered the 6inch burger with fries....when we went to get the order...it was like they were hoarding napkins....you had to ask even for your first napkin! The burger was all bun...I'm not sure there was real meat in there. There was a six inch burger, but it was so flat and thin it was breaking apart. It didn't even taste like a burger. The fries were okay, but you really can't mess up fries. The rest of the family felt the same. My daughter and husband had green chile cheese fries, and they said it was okay...not great. The service was okay except for the napkin hoarding. The place was pretty gross though...the tables were dirty. I kind of felt like I should have brought wipes. Not coming back......

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. There are better burgers, better onion rings, better 50's diners, better car and motorcycle hangouts, and better malts/shakes. I'm sorry, but the $1.00 BK Double is better than Jim's Small Double. The meat was burned to a crisp and the bottom bun was ice cold. The Onion Rings were OK, but they're certainly not home made. Those had Sysco Restaurant Supply written all over them. The only reason this place didn't get bumped all the way down to one star was the Vanilla Malt I ordered. It was thick and tasty, but I've been to places that have it all! Jim's only has the milkshakes going for them and nothing else. And I don't know what the original place was like, but they moved from their original 50's location some years ago into a defunct Whataburger location. So, there is zero 50's nostalgia except for a couple photos of the old place and a few car photos. I drove a whole 5 miles to try this place and it was 4.5 miles too far for me to bother going back.

Burger joints can be classified in two categories, the gourmet burger, and the classic burger. They can further be classified as meat-driven and accoutrement-driven. We all know the gourmet accoutrement-driven fare they serve at Red Robin. This place serves the classic burger. This is not some dry mcD bull, this is the real deal. It may give you a heart attack, but remember, the fat gives all the flavor.

There are two locations . Although I live closer to the Sheridan Blvd location, the shop on 88th is the best. If you haven't tried the burgers and your into an old fashioned greasy sloppy burger this might be the place for you. The 6" burger doesn't sound big and the patty is actually smaller than the bun until they smash it thin on the grill but a single usually does me just fine. If I'm feeling like I need less carbs I might do the double meat small or if I'm in urgent need some extra cow I might do the double large. Fries are good, not great (not fresh cut ala In N Out) and the rings are likewise. Shakes and Malts are done right (nice and thick). These are greasy spoon (love 'em) diner style burgers which are different than Fuddrucker's and more akin to Gunther Toody's (thinner and tastier I think than GT's and no quasi 50's chicks floor show. Here it's take a number (save your receipt) and wait to be called). Hot Rod pics are on the walls and they have car shows in the summer so you can imagine the decor (booths and chrome). Once in a while I need that burger fix and this'll do it. Maybe 3 1/2 stars would be more accurate.
