Excellent experience. An older establishment, but so clean and lots of character. Quiet, with soft music playing that doesn't interrupt conversation or demand your attention. My husband got the sirloin and I got the small prime rib. Absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly. Baked potatoes were amazing. Small dinner salad but very crisp fresh lettuce and very good dressings. They bring a loaf of warm bread to your table with cinnamon butter, but you can ask for regular butter as well. One interesting high point was that there was a table of 11 people near us and they gladly split their check into 11 different ones with no hesitation. That says a lot to me. Great service from the hostess to the server. Very friendly. I'd go again in a heartbeat

Best prime rib in pueblo. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in pueblo. Really great cocktails and a killer old fashion. The ribs are absolutely fantastic, they will melt in your mouth! Everything from the soup to the desert is fantastic. I will constantly praise this place for being consistently the best

I had the filet mignon and a baked potato .... the steak was the best I've had in 10 years. I was impressed. The service was prompt and my waitress pleasant and professional. When in Pueblo, CO this restaurant is a must. I will be back.

This was a wonderful find! A perfect blend of atmosphere, decor and the best steaks we've had in a very long time. It was quiet enough so you can visit, the waitress was great, as was the whole experience! We will be back! Thank you,

We would not have stopped if it weren't for the No Waiting sign lit up. I am so glad we did. The steaks were amazing and cooked to perfection. I loved my twice baked potato. Our server was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long to get our food. Great place. When in Pueblo, we will definitely come back. Much better than all of the chains around this place along the interstate.

Well. This place is old and needs a make over. The guest tonight must be regulars. Because they were the same age. To move on to the food. I had the ribeye and is was very good. I would come back.

Two stars is based solely on the friendly service. As for the meal itself, it fell short. To start, my salad was swimming in water and blue cheese dressing was half frozen. The Rocky Mountain Oysters were over fried, greasy and caked with batter...absolutely not worth the gut ache. The New York Strip was cooked perfectly as requested, however lacked any flavor to put it in a class of its own or separate it from anything ordinary. My side order of steamed spinach was good, but again swimming in water. As for price, I could have gone around the corner, paid less at Texas Roadhouse and gotten a better meal. The overall ambiance and vibe felt more like having dinner with the grandparents at their retirement home.

So surprised that DJ's is not Yelp yet. Well let me bring the info to the people. DJ's is an amazing staple of the Pueblo and Colorado. I have been eating there since I was child with my father when we would be in Pueblo racing. Other than excellent steaks they have a great variety of the house specialities that include but are not limited too, Colorado Lamb, Rocky Mountain Oysters (don't knock them till you tired them), Elk and Buffalo as well as Fried Frog Legs (the first place I ever had them). But whenever I find myself there (not enough anymore) I usually get the Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak or the NY Strip. This is classic example of the sustainable power of serving great food.

Get here a few times a year. From the outside, you may just drive by, and that is too bac. Great meats here and an array of different cuts and types. Very easy access from the Interstate and ample parking. Keep in mind that you are not at a Denny's for $9 entrees. This is a specialty restaurant, and they do it very well.

I ordered Filet Mingon! Best piece of steak I've ever eaten! Hot, juicy, succulent! I will be a return customer! My husband had prime rib and he was also very satisfied. The only thing we did not like is the fact that our mashed potatoes came out cold. The meal itself was delicious. We also had cheese cake for desert! So good!

Great certified black angus beef. Would definitely recommend the prime rib. Oysters on the half shell made for a great appetizer. Nice relaxing atmosphere. If you sit at the lounge you will most likely be in the company of DJ himself. Nice alternative to the many chain restaurants near by.

Excellant selection! Probably the best clam chowder I have ever had. I was told they make it from scratch there. My prime rib was tender and juicy. Best of all, it came out exactly how I had ordered it!

DJ's came highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint (except in my meat choice, which I will explain later). The interior is very nice, very old school steakhouse-y. The food was very good, but I have to question why people eat rib eye - mine was fatty and gross. I guess the flavor was good, but I felt that the cut of meat itself was a joke. The bread and cinnamon butter on the table is good. Overall a very good meal, but I wont' order ribeye again - it's the prank of expensive steaks.

If you like a sleek modern decor, this may not be your place, hence the tacky low reviews I have read. However if you want an elegant , special, and professional experience. This is the place. The decor was totally 1980's. We went on a recommendation of the hotel staff. It was a hit at every point. We were early so thankful the fact that we did not have a reservation worked out. The drinks were fabulous! My husband had a margarita and it was amazing, and I don't even care for margaritas. I had a Cherrytini with gin instead of vodka and it was the best drink I have ever had in a restaurant. We both had the steak and lobster one of us had the ribeye both were cooked perfectly! The first few bites of the ribeye literely came with the cut of a fork. We had the twice baked potato again awesome! We had desserts to go and totally enjoyed them as well. Our waitress was fabulous, Kasey I think, very professional. This isn't a hip hot steak spot. This is an old school cloth napkin, cloth table cloth, candleit dinner with mood music kind of place.

Like many have stated the atmosphere comes across dated. My opinion, Who cares! The prime rib is amazing and the service is old school with actual attention to detail and genuine care. Give it a shot.

Ok steak, slower service and they charge extra for most things. Over priced meal with older decor!

Fantastic homemade chicken fried steak, which is a rarity. Mind-boggling prime rib. Superb service. And, yes, traditional, non-sleek decor, which is a huge plus unless you're stuck in the present tense. If you're choosing between here and Texas Roadhouse, there's no choice. This is the best place to eat steak in Pueblo and one of the best places in the state to eat steak.

Delicious and a great experience! If you are looking for a menu that provides a fine dining experience, this is the place. Their escargot is divine!

Got the 12 ounce Prime Rib and it was great. Wouldn't have gone if it weren't for the long waiting at Texas Road House. This place is great!!

We discovered DJs a few years ago, and my wife claims they have the best BEST prime rib ever. We came back again last weekend and again the best prime rib she ever had. I had the NY strip and it was very very tasty both times we ate here. It's a bit of a drive from Longmont but we will return as often as possible. 5 stars DJs ROCKS!!

Old decor, very friendly staff and good food! Homemade break and cinnamon butter is tasty. Prime rib was average, a little dry but still good. They only had medium, but it was more like medium well and it was 7pm.

Ok Pueblo, I don't know what's up with ya'll but this place isn't so amazing. I've been on the fence about writing this review since my husband and I went on a date here, but after seeing that it made the list for The Best of Pueblo, I knew I needed to write it. When your first reaction when you walk into a building is "Uhm, maybe we should just leave." You should probably just leave. The parking lot was full though, so we took that as a good sign. We ended up having to wait in the weird lobby area for about five minutes for someone to notice us, and during those five minutes we were quietly talking about how this looked like the before shot of a Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare show. But still, we figured we're in Pueblo, it has great reviews, lets give it a shot. As soon as we were seated at a wobbly table and started looking over the menu, we felt a little better about it. Until we saw the "fresh" lobster. I'm not sure if it's cause I lived in Tacoma, WA and my husbands from the east coast and we both grew up around the ocean and fresh seafood, but that was a big turn off. Nowhere in Colorado is there fresh seafood. Especially in Pueblo. My husband considered ordering a beer, until we noticed a large group in the corner had beers and they were all drinking it out of the bottles. Yes, at a "fine dining" place, they're serving beers in the bottle. For the price, we could buy a six pack for a little more after we left. We were really going out on a limb at this point, I ordered the orange duck and my husband ordered a steak. His steak was really over cooked which is strange because medium rare, which should be a no brainer, and the vegetables that came with it were so stinking oily, it almost seemed like they came from a microwave steamer bag. My duck was really dry, dry, dry and came with fries (randomly), the orange sauce was so incredibly sweet. The whole place feels like it's stuck in the 80's, the dinner plates included. We were ready for the check after the first three bites. The waiter was nice and attentive, but that's not enough to make us come back. Especially for the price, we could have spent the gas to drive up to the Springs and had dinner for less. And it looks like that's what we'll have to be doing from now on.
